From "Miss Pee Pants" to "CAN WE ORDER PIZZA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA", it's super cringe. And these are supposed to be military operators. Can't decide if this game is supposed to be some kind of deliberate spoof comedy on the setting, or just can't write realistic dialog. Click past the bad writing though, and the gameplay itself is really fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has third party DRM that is sneakily installed in your computer, it might no be malware like some claim but the fact that you are never warned is suspicious at best. The game was fine but after that i'm getting a refund
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the gameplay, not the DRM. Get rid of it, I can try again. You put spyware on my PC without prior info under the guise of "error reporting" like all other Chinese apps in Play Store... I'm refunding. Which is a shame because the game really was beginning to feel good.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →-Non-consent DRM -Endless choice-free dialogue with utterly horrific writing, I don't mind leafing through some lore but when the first character you meet calls you Miss Pee Pants 4 or 5 times in the first dialogue, followed by such stellar lines as "Education Shmeducation!" I don't have the patience to sit through this crap, most dialogue options are entirely inconsequential, and felt like its only purpose was RSI sim. I'd comment on gameplay but I abandoned ship way too early, people seem…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't get me wrong, I really, really enjoyed this game. And after 200 hours of grinding, I was on par to finish the game on hardcore. But here's the thing, this game is DRM protected for some stupid China reason, aAnd when I made a back-up, it wrecked my save file. I lost all 200 hours of gameplay, and for a roguelike, such a loss is a pain to build up. It's basically crippling. I might come back to it in the future to try again, but I don't feel anything but severe disappointment. It's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WOW! What a hidden gem! I played the demo just to pass the time and, once complete, immediately purchased the full version. This game is a steal at it's current price and it has so many things I love about a game: base management/upgrades, party management, a ridiculous amount of unique classes, loot galore, explorer a massive map, quests, side quests, and even gambling! The game play is SO addicting. It reminds me of the best parts of "Battle Brothers", "Darkest Dungeon", and a sweet base…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →dang I tried, but the endless small talk proved to much for me :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not worth the money unless you really like guns and relentlessly melodramatic dialogue. The good: Gameplay is pretty fun, with a focus on optimizing a squad to run missions. Combat is challenging, and different team members can be swapped out and better equipped to make your own unique style. The bad: The dialogue is painful to read. While they are obviously trying to simulate the horrors of war, it comes off childish and bizarre. After an artful, silent intro, one of the main…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →too much dialogue finger fell off from clicking though
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its like Darkest Dungeon, but not fun. It has tons of mechanic bloat and upgrades that ultimately are uninteresting when the core game play is effectively an auto battler. Hundreds of guns , all offer nothing in game-play changes because they lack any real mechanical differences to make them any more than fan service to gun collectors. The dialogue is excessive and doesn't fit for what is again... an auto battler with some things taken from Darkest Dungeon and mobile games. The artwork is a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look, I'm sure the gameplay is fine. It's just that the writing and story elements were so unbearably bad, and there was a lot of it. An interesting idea let down by awful execution. If this is the sequel I can't imagine how bad the original was.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In a normal game, when your crew becomes too crowded, you simply say goodbye and move on. In this game, however, you’re forced to send them to the war front lines and watch them get injured and slowly die while gaining barely useful buffs. There’s no way to help them — the moment you dismiss a crew member from the secret ops team, you’re essentially sentencing them to a slow, painful death. It’s one of the most disturbing mechanics and narratives I’ve ever seen.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Addictive game loop and mechanics (hence my 1110 hours played). Darkest Dungeon'esque walking side scrolling type combat. Takes a long time to beat on higher difficulty levels. Enjoyed it. Great bang for the buck.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Totally unbalanced fights. The longer the fight is, the higher levels of the enemies are (promoted throughout the fight). So if you cannot kill one enemy in a single round, then after about 1 min, the enemies will adopt all tactics that will heal the injured one back to a half-life health point, and the skills will get 29.6 levels up for one enemy who can keep lowering your morale. Worse still, the levels of your characters are limited to 30 only but enemies can have much higher levels than…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It looks like a high res newgrounds game and is in the same vain (not a rip off/clone) of darkest dungeon which I expected given it comes from mainland china (it even has a nod to those games). but its deep, visually pleasing with some great art and the loop will get ya trust me. The fact its a squeal to the last game hurts it a little as that game was not good....This game is none of that its translated, fun, not buggy, and has choices so you never stuck with luck on a run. Its a cartoon…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Core gameplay is boring and repetitive. A big map full of levels that are all the same. Lackluster retread of long tired game mechanics. A lot of details that don't matter and micromanagement that isn't interesting.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Due to bad game design, it ends up becoming a savescum simulator where you have to close the friggin' program in order to avoid a save and then relaunch the program to load the previous save. Basically, as bad as the design and coding is, they NEED a normal save and load game feature available both in the camp AND in the missions. The game design is so bad that it doesn't even let you experience the story. If these devs were authors, they would be ripping pages out of the book as…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Endless no-choice dialog... Interesting game with some cool ideas. Combat is like Darkest Dungeon but automated. The only choice you get to make during combat is when to launch a character's special attack and at which enemy. These special attacks only occur when a character has made enough successful attacks in auto-combat. The biggest drawback for me was the unending dialog with no player choice. Characters will get into 2 way conversations that are delivered a sentence at a time and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Damn.... Where do i even start with this. I WANT to recommend this game, i really do.... But the constant bugs that either freeze my game, send it into black screens that need to be alt+f4'd or worst of all, when FOR SOME STUPID ASS REASON, THERE IS CHINESE TEXT THAT CAN'T BE CLICKED, IN MY ENGLISH VERSION OF THE GAME! seriously, i uninstalled and reinstalled the game eighth times to try and "Fix" this, but every time it came back at the same point.... when my "Reveloution" moral hit 80, the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The combat is automated, so no strategy. The writing is childish and not very good, but tons of cutscene dialogue. I could not for the life of me figure out how to equip the armor I got in "loot". Just a weird game with weird UI. I like the female protagonist, that's about it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short version:Darkest Dungeon with more options. Long version: +Price is ok. ++Great graphic style/characters. +++No bugs/falls or game freezes. +Deep gameplay with lots of options in camp. ++50 Hours of gamaplay. +-Not easy on Normal. +-Fuel economy, you need fuel to move and train character skills. +-Side missions repeats 1000 times. +-Upgrades,buildings,training...all is very expensive. +-Sniper rifles need balance it says 50 dmg when do half dmg or miss with 107Perc accuraci. +-Armor…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cannot progress beyond a certain point because of mandatory events that freeze the game, years old bug and the dev doesn't seem to care, so.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think this game has an ok foundation but it is really repetitive and boring. I think there is a lot of room for improvement so I can't recommend it right now. I would like to see more in terms of character development maybe including evolutions or abilities you can grow. Id also like to see more variation in vehicles and the transitions between maps. The maps are all the same thing over and over again there is room to create some sort of level design. Really the game is all just clicking a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i hope this game get more updates , but last update was 1y ago and i think devs are just gone, art style is very unique and cool which makes u forget about those cringy dialogues , gameplay itself is very good but after a while events will get repetitive but still playable till the end. seriously this game would be one of my best experiences if the devs was more active like: adding events/changing dialouges/adding workshop..
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed the first game, while it is great to see that new mechanics have been added such as the truck battle, this sequel just doesn't hit the right notes for me, for several reasons: -This is a bit more subjective but I like the graphic style on the first one, so not a fan of the change, now it looks like a cheapy "hand-drawn" art style. -The combat in the first game is whack, it's much more clarified here but I think it's still terrible. It's basically a really bad auto-battler, how can you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay becomes too unbalanced because the enemy powerscaling is insane. Aside, from that you have to be careful choosing the next path for your mission, otherwise you will get stunlocked if you failed a certain mission.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The writing is so cringe.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is like a slot machine that you can strategize and get better at. The game play loop is incredibly addictive and there is so many things to tweak and upgrade. Super well polished, the art style is great, zero bugs. This might honestly be one of my favorite games ever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I prefer turn-based combat and less talking. People with different priorities can probably enjoy this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Darkest Dungeon if it was a guerrilla warfare game with many classes where you loot and have choices to better or worsen the world around you towards your revolutionary goal. MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF RNG SERIOUSLY, but in a good way. Alot of resource management, If there will ever be a Home Behind 3 please have a bigger map... The best parts of this game is searching buildings for some reason, I like stealing things
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first character that joins you is a CIA agent, the second one a racist stereotype. Not my type of revolution.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Meh. An ok web browser type game. Graphics are fine and runs well. Story isn't bad and the music is pretty good although a little repetitive. Its paced well enough in short bursts but a bit more reading than I would like. Every event, outside combat, is a RNG event. There is a percentage indicator and a gauge that goes up and down to simulate this but after a play through, you will realise that the percentage numbers don't really mean anything and its a 50/50. Game itself is pretty…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game has potential. There are two changes that if implemented would change my thumbs down vote to thumbs up. The first would be to complete the translation into English. Some dialogues and options are still in the original language. The second would be to add a skip dialogue button to the full version. The dialogue sequences are extended and mediocre. Experiencing them the first time is bad enough, much less on replays. Currently the player has to repeatedly double tap keys or mouse to fast…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay is like a more basic Darkest Dungeon with some light base building. Honestly feels like a game that was designed for the phone. Parts of it havn't been translated into English. Honestly not worth the price. If you can get it for 5 bucks give it a go, otherwise I would say pass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Darkest Dungeon with guns? The game looks like a Darkest Dungeon in a present-day war setting, but gameplay is largely management. Another reviewer brought up Football Manager and I'd have to agree. It's all about the many ways to customize your team, base, vehicle and weapons. The main aspect of the game is the combat, and moving it to a timer-based real time system was a great choice to give you both hectic firefights and enough control to use skills to tip the balance in your favor. Well…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pausable RPG somewhat similar to Darkest Dungeon (with a bit more strategic layer and crafting thrown in). Dialogue and story are quite weak, but I have seen worse. Recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a great find, I think I bought it when it sold for only 5-10$, so the price is a little less cost efficient now, but I've yet to actually complete the game at 80 hours in (mostly from resseting to get better starts), so it can still be worth it. Basically it plays like Darkest Dungeon, except with less of an emphasis on combat (which is real time rather than turn based and can be played semi/fully automatically for you or played manually, you can switch between the two instantly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this game. The idea and story is great but it feels to me like it's a mobile game. Combat is far too limited. If they changed it and made it like you're in actual control then it would be ten times better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so much pointless reading
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →similar to darkest dungeon but more casual
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The design comes many layers, and can entertain players at different skill level and different interests. Let me brief about the following aspects : tactic, management, roleplay It provides a lot of element for roleplaying. The story is interesting. In a sense, it is a traditional action hero story line where you fight mini bosses, solve puzzles to advance the story. I still haven't reached it yet, because of the other two aspects. The story is made up with small rogue adventure where you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a mobile game I'd pay 1.99 to play while waiting at the DMV.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played about 10 minutes of this before I had to give up. This is a visual novel with RPG aspects and party building for auto-rolling combat between incredibly long dialogue. The developers have never heard of "show don't tell".
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good game. Quite addictive (just one more run!) but in a good way. It looks simple but there is an amazing amount of depth to the game. You never have enough resources to do everything you want so you need to make smart choices. This is a Chinese game but the translation is excellent and 99% complete. The game is solid with no glitches or crashes for me. The wounding and healing system is new to me but is well thought out and sets a new high standard for these types of games. Many types of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mom, can we get Darkest Dungeon? No, we have Darkest Dungeon at home! Darkest Dungeon at home: Home Behind 2
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Normal is fun but hard is too hard. Very good soundtrack.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Home Behind 2 makes an attempt to build on the Darkest Dungeon formula with a cotemporary setting and several good ideas on it's own, and succeeds with it. Gameplay The main aspect of the game is the combat, and moving it to a timer-based real time system was a great choice to give you both hectic firefights and enough control to use skills to tip the balance in your favor. This way a superior team can trample an enemy in seconds, while evenly matched groups make the pause button a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After I bought this game, I played 14 hours straight. Only stopped because I was too tired to keep playing. The feeling of my team becoming stronger and better equipped kept me playing. Like Monster Train that kept going without difficulty ramping up too quickly. English translation is near 100% complete, only a few dialog and names are still in Chinese.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly the combat isn't that bad, it's just the AWFUL story and wall of text dialogue you have to go through. I'll assume there's some translation issues because the choices you make are morally confusing and I don't understand why the whole game is in desert lmao
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game contains a lot of mandatory dialogue and text, which may not appeal to everyone. Personally, I felt that the pacing suffered because the story content often took focus away from the gameplay. While the gameplay itself seems solid, it can be difficult to fully appreciate beneath the large amount of dialogue and exposition. If you enjoy story-heavy games with plenty of reading, there's likely a good experience here. However, players looking for a more gameplay-focused experience may find…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sometimes I'll browse Steam hoping to find the same kind of magic flash games had from 2007-2013. To which end, Home Behind 2 is a great continuation of the "premium" genre of flash games, particularly: Strike Force Heroes, The Last Stand: Union City, Sonny (2) and Sinjid (Remake). Overall, it hits all the aspects I was looking for at the discounted price. With the amount of content and replayability, I'd say the product earns its $10 price tag. The presentation and style are well done. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →another chincComm game made to make chinese naziism look good and a free people look bad. dont buy it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worse music ever, And worse game loop ever, Cant get into it, This is made for people who enjoy candycrush.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very enjoyable game! It has a feel like DD1 . only bad thing is there is always a TON of conversation texts between characters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. The 38 hours I played are just a single playthrough, and the roguelite mechanics provide incentives for repeating playthroughs, so I will most like get even more time out of this. The game is a mix of party/base management and crafting during your out of combat time. During the missions you can either manually play fights or let characters fight on auto mode (or hybrids where some things are handled automatically and you get to control others). There are also a lot of pseudo dice…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is an alright idea, I guess. I could see myself playing another game with the same mechanics. It tries to lure you in with a story, which is immediately undermined with the characters looking like anime-teenagers and acting like it. It's not a civil war, it's a skirmish between school-kids. It's serious but also totally fetch fun, my dude, awesome! The idea of combat being automatic is not bad but does not work. It's not an interesting auto-battler nor an intense rouge-like. This game tries…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buy this game if you are sure of your luck good, so if those bag happen, they will not help you, in the game there is no way to delete your progress and for example I have bag the amount of equipment received and I can't even finish the first mission and sent 3 letters I received 0 replies in 6 months
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You like Darkest Dungeon but don't like the dark atmosphere and monster? Then this game is for you, 100% all organic human. No monster.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting concept with some semi-luck/skill type of method of getting resources. Lots of strategies and ways of playing but some times the enemies are too many and hard. Wonder need to replay how many times to complete. Still early stage but fun for early access.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The writing is atrocious, which wouldn't be that big of a deal except there is so much of it.
