60 of 152 · most liked firstI just love this game so so much!! A top down shooting horror action adventure game inspired by RE and SH. Tried its demo few months ago and love it so much. Played the the first game and finally, it's the full version of the second game. Bought it and tried out immediately. With such a small size and such smooth gameplay, brain-teasing puzzle and some minor jump scare scenes, this is a great indie game. Great improvement from previous game with nicely polished gameplay system. Trust me, this…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun at first, but the scaling goes off the rails. Zombies who initially took 1-2 shots, soon will take 3-4. And they constantly respawn. And the bosses are even worse. The sheer amount of damage they can take is obscene and I honestly don't know how anyone could approve such stupid mechanics. I am towards the end of the game, fighting a boss. I pumped 20 rounds of magnum ammo, dozens of SMG bullets, 20+ shotgun shells, and more pistol rounds, and it wasn't enough to kill it. Oh, and it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heaven Dust 2 has a charm of its own at first, but that charm degrades very quickly. The game breaks its own rules, puzzles get less interesting by degrees and the bottom falls out from under the combat system all but entirely. It's pretty clear that it really wants to be Resident Evil but isometric. Unfortunately, it seems to have learned all the wrong lessons from that series. Visually, the game's fine - it's a decent 3D isometric shooter. However, its plagued with usability issues. Walls…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shooting zombies, solving puzzles and progressing the story. Map layout is nice, every little corner gets used eventually it seems. In 3 hours only encountered one minor bug that can be corrected instantly. Well worth the price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beat the game around 6.5 hours, not as advertised to be a 10 hour game. Also at lease 1 out of that 6.5 hours is wandering around cluelessly due to many of the counter intuitive puzzles. If the game insist on having puzzles, study how Zelda does them. Combat is well designed though, should have spend more effort on that instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heaven Dust 2 Gameplay Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DK8qX9ru5DY Heaven Dust 2 is a survival horror game and a Resident Evil clone, like an exact replica of it. Even though I never played the first game, I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. I also heard that it is not mandatory to play it to enjoy the sequel, so I went ahead and played this game first. Pros ✔️ Fun gameplay: It takes inspiration from the original Resident Evil games; the same controls, combat, puzzles, zombies,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was SO happy to receive a key from the developer for this game. I loved Heaven Dust 1 so much and was BEYOND excited to play the second one. This game is also available on Switch (which I had to buy!). This is a direct sequel from the "normal" ending of Heaven Dust 1 and a continuation of the story. You continue to play as Steve who is infected with the Europa 2 virus from the first game. He finds himself in the First Research Base this time and has to find his way out. This game is MUCH…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oooh yes! All that Resident Evil goodness in a cute package! The same "omg I need more red plants and gun powder, and where is the hell is the next save point?" sort of feeling. :) Played with my XBox controller. There are a lot of spelling and grammatical errors, but really. that's unimportant. It doesn't take anything away from the story and the story was very good. Definitely recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you like Resident evil and want to delve once more in to a survival situation including managing ammunition carrying key items and solving puzzles this is is for you !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's just a pretty good RE clone. If you like RE - you should try this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Heaven Dust 2 is a love letter to classic survival horror games" very true I highly recommended this game ( if you don't mind isometric camera angle ) for me, 9.7 hours to beat (easy diff) , not all of content I could unlock , some rooms still locked, maybe I could explore in 2nd playthrough I think it has 2 ending. you need to check the notes if you stuck, usually the clue is in the note.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →in some way I thought I might be able to recreate the experience from back in the day and it started out promising, but after about 2 h into the game it suddenly left me and I cannot bring myself to pick it up again. don't get me wrong, this is not a bad game, there are far worse games out there, but at least for me the retrospective nostalgia did not work. moreover it just felt bland. (disclaimer: just my personal experience)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A dollar-store RE clone. it isn't so bad but you should only bother when you don't have anything better to scratch your survival-horror itch. Directions are often unclear, you'll find yourself roaming aimlessly many times throughout the game. It's even worse because the enemies in this game respawn. What I liked: The toy-house perspective. What I disliked: Unclear health indicator, the protag's movement speed is way too slow, boss fights are badly designed.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a great game, sound design and immersion are very good. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mftyw1vsw2I&t=18s The puzzles are....interesting and i usually dont like them. The combat system is well thought, you need to use different guns depending on the situation. The inventory, gun upgrades and some other mechanica are straight out of resident evil wich is great, they took the best parts. It has about 20 hours of fun in total, probably can finish the game in 7-8 hours. Its basically a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better than the first in every way, excited for a possible sequel in the future.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good. Easy to get into and generally pretty intuitive. Most of the puzzles are at just the right level of engagement to keep them interesting, but I did need to look a few things up. The map is oriented in a way where it's just a little too easy to miss a door leading south-east. Overall a fun experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →9/10 Really enjoyed this RESIDENT EVIL themed top down angle horror game. The puzzles are sometimes nonsense and way too difficult so I had to check a walkthrough, nonetheless, it was an awesome experience. Reminded me of the days when I first time played Resident Evil 2! Very well made. I hope they will make more of these kind of games!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everything that the first game did right in trying to recreate a classic Resident Evil style game this game does even better. The game is twice as long as the first one with better graphics and sounds, and much, MUCH greater enemy variety. Where a lot of games inspired by Resident Evil fails is that they often focus on the visuals and combat. But what made those PS1 survival horror games so special is the puzzles and that's where the Heaven Dust games shine the brightest. The English…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the best RE clones in Steam right now. Incredibly fun on all levels, cant stop playing until I finished. I cant recomend it enough
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Significant upgrade over the previous entry. I fully enjoyed this. Great selection of weapons, varied enemy types that require different strategies, multiple bosses, clever puzzles, rewarding exploration, replayability with multiple endings, innovative in its shooting mechanics. It is sincerely hard to fault - though it could do with more horror, if that's the sort of thing you're interested in. Well worth a go.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a pretty neat little RE clone with an isometric view. It feels rather low budget so keep that in mind. The puzzles are surprisingly difficult/subtle. There were a couple puzzles that I just had to guess to figure out, I'm not even sure where the solutions were but I suspect if they weren't so easy to guess, I would have found something in the environment to figure them out. A lot of the solutions are just in the background somewhere. The combat is fine for what it is, nothing amazing,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great. Nails RE level design. I hope theres a part 3 and mod tools one day (specifically a level editor). PS: the main character's stubble is ridiculous
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great indie survival horror game! enjoy!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very decent Resi clone, suffers from engrish though.
A very good game and definitely a Resident Evil clone. And better than the whole Resident Evil 3 Remake from 2020! A must have for any puzzle platformer fan.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Return of Anime Resident Evil Having played both; the first Heaven Dust, and the demo to its sequel, I was excited to finally play the finalized product. While there's some annoying bits here and there, Heaven Dust 2 is better than its predecessor in every way. Sure to satisfy any classic RE fan, or those just waiting on Village DLC from Capcom. Pros/Cons: +Focus on exploration and backtracking. +Good level design and enemy placement. +Fun and engaging combat with minor flaws. +Refined…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's bigger than the first Heaven Dust, and more spectacular. On the other hand, this time they included some standard flaws of corporate console manure, like a 2rd rate saving system (not 3rd-rate because it has the decency of being multi-slots,) respawns, a repetitive 3-stages grindy boss fight, and the debilitating typewriter effect designed to jellify literate brains. All of these are bearable, in fairness. Except for the typewriter effect, with its extremely aggressive click sound from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In 2020 a surprisingly good “Resident Evil knock-off” called Heaven Dust got released. And by “knock-off” I don’t mean “a classic survival horror game”, I mean a game that actually used some of the assets of the original Resident Evil games. Except it was done in an isometric perspective and had a few ideas of its own. I liked it despite its flaws and questionable “borrowing” from the inspirations and wondered what would be next for the developers. A direct sequel, as it turned out to be. Which…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A VERY easy recommendation for anyone interested in classic Resident Evil. Don't let the cute art style fool you - this game has everything from rewarding exploration with well-thought level design, resource management, and surprisingly varied enemies. The combat also has more depth than I've expected, so playing this was engaging all the way through. It's unlikely to actually scare you, but it's one hell of a good take on the RE formula.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man this game exceeded every expectation. Its a legit RE clone with excellent combat, puzzles, and level design. Absolutely worth the play its as good as any of the other survival horror indies. The chibi art style does this game a disservice, I overlooked it for years thinking it was trash mobile style game but I was dead wrong.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heaven Dust walked so Heaven Dust 2 could run. This is the improved and upgraded sequel that took the simple formula to a whole `nother level and they nailed it. It`s much more a RE clone than the first game was, while first game had similar setting and gameplay loop, it lacked in a mechanical depth, where this game shines. Again we have multiple endings, lots of unlocks, lots of upgrades, secrets and things to find. Now all we need is for the developers to reboot the series akin to Risk of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR Think of this as Mini Resident Evil 2/3. Tons of fun, nostalgic feeling, charming, excellent gameplay, visuals, replay value. Turned it inside out with multiple playthroughs & endings. Old school survival horror/action aficionados need apply, 'Nuff said. Get the Bundle if you must though Heaven Dust 1 on the other hand, ehh, greatly pales in comparison...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much more fleshed out in terms of mechanics and length than the first one. Fun puzzles, but I think the way the map opens up often misguides the player, I recommend taking notes. I think I got the "bad" ending, and I am a bit pissed because from what I read in the community forum in order to unlock a different one I would have had to solve a puzzle... which in my opinion (and OP's) you could only solve by random guessing. Also worth mentioning that I almost got soft locked due to a glitch…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not terrible just too many poor design decisions. First off, its kind of a RE clone but different in multiple worse ways. First off, theres only like 4 guys total in the game, which for a 10 hour game is pretty boring. Combat is just holding down aim and it auto aims and you press shoot, pretty brainless. You fight basically 1 enemy all game the only difference is they then add like armor to their head and chest so it just requires way more bullets artificially. The problem is this enemy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A rock solid survival horror, a good step up from the developer's previous entry, I had a good time going through this, with a few hang ups. I liked the combat, it had satisfying feedback when hitting and killing enemies, it rewarded ammo conservation by being patient and using the right weapon for the right job, the upgrades you collected throughout the game were quite nice as well, making it easier and easier to fight large hordes of enemies, although the SMG felt a bit lack luster, rarely…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I enjoyed most of my time spent with the game, I decided to cut my losses and move on to other titles after failing a frustrating boss fight again and again. Here are the major issues: A ran into a handful of extremely obtuse game-stopping puzzles that were extremely counter-intuitive or made no sense. I very much tried to do it on my own, but I needed to use a walkthrough to stop wasting time and make progress. I still had trouble finding out the logic behind the puzzles and only found…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had softlocked the game by accidentally using all the spores and not making the second mixed ethanol. I did not have a save to roll back to so the run is completely dead. Should have just been two mixed ethanol in the room or a way to earn more spores.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Big improvement over the first game. Scratches the itch tastey
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a fun game with strong nods to classic Resident evil games. Recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, got it and instantly started to enjoy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6. Heaven Dust 2 I ran Heaven Dust 1, and I am still fond of that little horror game. But Heaven Dust 2 is just a better videogame. That's all there is to it. The speedrun though? Boring. It's just so slow and unremarkable. Writing this made me want to play it casually again though, lol.
unlabelledView post →This game is totally underrated. It's heavily inspired on the old classic survival horror games and it doesn't fail to bring an interessting story. Both the original and the sequel deliver a great experience and both are very replayable and fun. This game should be more popular
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →recommend for resident evil fans, a unique turn with isometric perspective
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An excellent tribute to first Résident Evil. Hope to see a third iteration.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a slow stiff game that's more like a child's first twin stick shooter. I'd avoid paying more than 5 buck for it. It's mechanics are extremely simple to the point where aiming is pretty much always done for you. I don't see how this has such a high review on steam. You really can't trust all the positive reviews on here. It feels more skewed than N power reviews back in the 90s.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cool re-like type game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a must buy for those that love the classic Resident Evil / horror games. The puzzles are some of the best I've seen and you can actually do critical (head) shots from the isometric point of view which I found was really unique. Combat is very good too - there are even finisher opportunities (red circle under enemy, walk up to them and interact) when enemies reach a certain health state (although it doesn't always happen). Game looks great as well - even though it is cartoony it is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decided to give this a go after watching AvalancheReviews' video featuring it and I'm really glad I did. A slightly wonky English localisation and some surprisingly obscure puzzle solutions do detract from the experience a tiny bit, but besides that it's great. If you enjoyed classic RE and want to try something fresh I couldn't recommend this highly enough. Word of warning though, you get a chance to help someone about a quarter of the way through the game, don't do what I did and forget all…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heaven Dust 2 feels like a great improvement over the first one. Be it artstyle, graphics, sound, gameplay mechanics or level design, everything is more polished, and built upon from the original. Exploration and progression felt satisfying. You'll find yourself constantly unlocking rooms, shortcuts, finding resources, equipment, solving puzzles and revisiting locations for secrets or new paths. There's even a few NPCs you can interact with. Movement is much more fluid now. There's a…

As same as the first part, but enhanced in everything. We all know RE mechanics, is it right? Here is nothing new. Same zombies in a secret laboratory under a mansion. Same heal potion, ammo crafting. Same puzzles and one of the endings with a big blast and helicopter in foreground. This is not about a story. We already know it. This is about gameplay, discovering and…

Heaven's Dust 2 is an isometric survival horror game that feels a bit too flawed to be worth its asking price. ($15 USD at the time of this review.) While I'm not willing to give it a thumbs-down, I'd definitely advise you to wait for a sale, unless this game specifically appeals to you. Let's dig in, shall we? The game feels very much like a modern homage to the more classic…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great! It isn't perfect ... but any fan of the RE series should pick this up asap. My current playtime (~24 hours) is how long it took me to beat the game, and then do the 2-hour speedruns to get the infinite ammo/infinite grenade launcher unlocked, and then to play it one time through with the infinite grenade launcher. For $15, this is an absolute gem, especially for survival horror fans, and fans of Resident Evil. I've even considered speedrunning this game and then posting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, if you like the Resi games you'll like this. I'd also recomend the first game too though you don't need to play it to still enjoy this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spoiler free. Excellent Resident-esque classic survival horror game, with a take via a slightly top down isometric view. Much better than Heaven Dust 1, which is also quite fun. You don't need to play the first one to play this one, but it helps a bit. Heaven Dust 1 is also about 3-4 hours long, so it's a quick burn for 7 bucks ($7 at the time of posting this review 1/17/22). + Collect ammo, kills zombies + Headshot mechanic is simple, and fantastic! + Several different zombie types with…
