Immediate hats off for the clever underlying idea of this game. I like minigolf games. I often enjoy the "roguelite" structure. Sounds like fun to me! It was certainly enough to get me to buy a copy. Unfortunately, the charm on this one ended up rubbing down pretty fast. Something to realize up front is that the cards the game is built around are…

You’ll tee off in 18 randomly generated wacky courses whilst building a deck of cards that modify your swing, the ball’s properties, give you additional abilities for your ball and so on. But whilst…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've had this game generate impossible levels 3 separate times, unless this issue is fixed it's not really worth attempting to play it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fantastic idea, but it feels very unfinished, like they got the core mechanics down and then just released it without the requisite polish. As others mentioned, the cards are massively unbalanced, with the basic "power" and "lob" cards completely overshadowing every other card in terms of importance. If you don't have any power cards, your character hits the ball a maximum of two feet, wasting the turn. Apparently the devs said this was because people were powering through the courses…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Maps are bad, either insane jagged nonsense or rainbow road, floating island nonsense (or a mix of both) making it hard to bounce or find angles. The card mechanic makes judging your shots super difficult because every shot has different effects so it all feels inconsistent powerwise. Most of the things I like about minigolf are compromised somehow for the gimmick which is really unfortunate. Fun with friends but difficult to recommend because it's too hard to be casual, too gimmicky to be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The generated levels are terrible. Most levels we played were WAY too long and had horrible "design" that made you waste all of your shots on 1 obstacle. Building the maps out of elements with tons of little things to get stuck on was a dumb choice. The arrow showing where your shot goes means NOTHING, it's often very inaccurately showing how the ball will bounce, it always over or under shoots the ball, and doesn't account for any power ups, it's often impossible to tell where you'll really go…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This games seems fun on the surface. A friend bought it for me and i thought it was gonna be a good time. NOPE, the games camera is one of, if not the worst i have ever used. Also the amount of bugs. Clipping, the final boss not working at ALL, and the worst server lag. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, UNTIL THE DEVS FIX IT! Update: Just built a much more powerful PC. The game physics still suck, even on a 4060 Ti compared to a laptop. Also with more frames, the camera gets uncontrollably worse Yet…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just badly designed. Instead of using cards for Special power-ups or something fun, you also have to use them for basic shots. Great idea; terrible execution.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want a great roguelike, deckbuilding, minigolf game... this isn't it While on the outset, all of these things sounded like they could create a really fun gameplay loop, in this game at least, they really don't - Cards are forced, pointless and situational, leaving you praying for the default "lob" and "power" cards in most given situations, I played almost 3 hours and never unlocked any cards that were worth using - Physics and maps are really buggy, I had several situations where the…

When you run out of energy you lose, so what this means is this game filled with whacky powers is actively telling you: Hey, don't make the fun play, make the boring play cause you'll lose energy you can never recover and lose. So thanks game for enforcing an incredibly boring gameplay. Just what I wanted.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really don't write reviews much, however this game has turned from an all-time favorite of mine to a complete disappointment. It seems that the makers are more concerned about balancing gameplay instead of fixing the glitches rendering the game unplayable. I've been reporting for over a year where the map generation process creates broken maps that causes the golf balls to fall through the map or get stuck. These problems didn't exist when I first started playing, but I just started up the…

I was browsing my library trying to decide what to feature next when I noticed this one had a version 2.0 update in September. #golfie #videogames #indiegames #roguelike #gameplay
unlabelledView post →Great concept with a lot of potential, but the game just feels shallow and repetitive. Refunding after 2 hours, but I would be happy to try this game again in a year or something if it were to get a large update that is more than just added cosmetics/cards/perks. Again, there is a lot of unrealized potential here in my opinion.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ENG: Golfie is a beautiful combination of golf and roguelite cards, but unfortunately, it suffers from some problems that make it far from perfect. Among these problems, the procedural generation is composed of parts of levels, so after several hours, some levels may seem to have been played previously. Another thing worth mentioning is that many of the cards you obtain are somewhat complicated to learn to use, so trying them out in the middle of a run could possibly result in a wasted…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Golfie tries to blend mini-golf with deck-building roguelike mechanics, but the result feels more frustrating than fun. The physics are inconsistent, the cards often feel gimmicky, and the randomness kills any sense of strategy. Visuals are bland, and the pacing is awkward, with long stretches of trial-and-error. It’s a creative idea, but the execution falls flat—more rage-quit than hole-in-one. DEMO was more fun then the OFFICIAL RELEASE.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting concept. Good against friends but gets boring alone pretty fast.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bit too glitchy making it difficult to actually play the game. From not being able to launch a multiplayer game or invite friends at times and random dark screens when you launch. It's also a little unbalanced at times and unclear where some of the points actually come from.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got softlocked 3 times and fell through the map twice
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The description does say "deck builder" but I thought it would be a few choices, there's like 30 or so cards and most of them are useless or overly complicated. You can only equip a few cards at a time so the draw pile is full of what you don't want. And good luck actually beating a course, I was on "free" mode with unlimited shots and still was testing my patience. Even though the trailer looks decent, this is disappointing and feels terribly dated for a 2023 release.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Physics are horrible, aim indicator is inconsistent, and ignoring the concerns voiced about power shots, the game is just overall intuitive with the physics. I have 4k hours in deck building dungeon crawlers and simply put this game replaces strategy with frustration.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brilliant game, It balances luck and skill brilliantly. The meta progression doesn't feel overly restrictive and the game stays challenging the whole way through. There's really good replayability for anyone that enjoys rogue-likes. None of the cards feel game-breaking and there are a range of different builds that can work well so it doesn't feel like you have to play the same thing every round for a chance.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an absolute waste of Money!! You pay 20 bucks per person just to get an absolute unfinished game in an absolute misarable state.. We played this for 7 hours (means 7 games) and each ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time the game crashes 1 round before the finish. So we WASTED 7 hours to reach NOTHING Thatts ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and the devs are not douing NYTHING about it!!!!!!!!!!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think the mechanics of Golfie are some of the most fun out of any roguelike I've played before. However, there are so many annoying and game-breaking bugs that my recommendation is much more difficult to give than I would like. It's sort of a shame this game never became more popular; I think if it had a larger dedicated community, then the developers would have felt more inclined to add more content and fix these numerous bugs. Still, I think this game is easily worth a buy if you can get it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The mechanics of the game suck. The ghost arrow is completely non-indicative to where the ball actually goes so what's the point of it? You either get the same cards over and over or get useless cards and there isn't an obvious way to build your own deck, which seems bizarre for a game claiming to be a deck builder? The perks have little to no impact on the game, as do 80% of the cards you get, you find yourself just using power or curve shots most of the time. The procedural generated maps…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: The game is under-developed and lacking nuance. - The level generation is so simplistic, that you end up playing the same levels over and over. The game needs hand crafted maps, and should observe other golf games' level design. - The difficultly comes from long to complete and hard to navigate maps. - It's not satisfyingly ending a run because you didn't have an enough shots to complete a later course. - And because of the level generation, later course just feel like elongated…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cards? Golf? Resource management? A see-saw of skill against risk? A cute golf ball? Cards and golf are two premium genres for me. This mashup serves me very well. The 3D counterpart to Cursed To Golf, and a real battle to get to the Clubhouse.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You cannot even MOVE certain turns without powershot. How poorly designed. Makes the game feel inconsistent, garbage, and the worst word it can be.. boring. There's always another golf game. EDIT: To the developer: Nobody wants to skip a turn to make a basic shot. Cards are meant to enhance, not be something that, if taken away, it's just a broken ass golf game. You're so close to actually having the game be good. Please listen to the community.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun game, but probably not worth the full price. It’s supposed to be a combination of mini-golf and a rouge-like deck builder. However, I found the deck building aspect the least fun, since the most useful cards are the ones you start with. Sure, there are some interesting combinations you can get, but once you get the combo you want, you’re pretty much throwing away all other cards… Still, it was fun to try out different perk combinations, and trying to go for an endless run. Also,…

unlabelledView post →Its not really a rougelite game. This game has a very huge downfall, is the need of powershot in every shot or else you prepare to end turn. Most of the course is very tedious and require more lucky shot than skill. The last boss map was much easier than most of the course. This game would be much more fun, if we can upgrade the power needed to shoot up to ridiculous amount. Most golf games would let you try get a chance of Hole in One, but this an't happening in this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, I recommend sinking a few hours into it to learn it's quirks, strategy, and unlocks before making a judgement as it is somewhat different from many other golf games. I have over 100 hours in the game and it's always nice to load up when I want to relax and get a ridiculous build the longer I play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can be frustrating at first, but it's a lot of fun! Practicing a bit in the casual mode helped a lot to better understand the game's physics
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game sucks. Inconsistent physics. Items like beach balls are placed in maps to use but using them almost always ends with your ball in the water and losing energy. if your ball is too close to an object you cant get a good viewing angle. Ive played a bunch of daily challenges and have come in 1st place on the leaderboards. No rewards for that. I have more fingers on one hand than who play the challenges. Fun for a few hours but just gets lame.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a fun twist on golf. At first I found it a bit frustrating and then I fell in love. Pros: - A fun twist on golf - Whimsical and fun - A lot of replay-ability. Cons: - Can be frustrating at first - There is a bit of chance and not just skill to it - Wish there was a bit of a stronger multiplayer aspect to play with friends It's a fun gold game and I enjoyed it. I give it 4 out of 5 cards.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →On my friend's computer (which runs many other games fine) it doesn't launch and doesn't end task properly and even crashes their computer. It plays fine on mine, but what's the point if my friend can't play? Garbage.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like mini golf games this is fun but if you play it "the way it is intended" it is very challenging. The overall concept is a great idea that is rough around the edges with an often janky camera - but for me at least it has that "just one more run" feel to keep it going.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Golfie is an unusual hybrid of RNG based card delivery and a minigolf mobile app (although this seems to have accidentally been launched on PC instead of the app stores and consoles it was intended for). The CCG element is somewhat weak, but you can't progress some of the courses without the right cards, which makes what should be a casual experience a frustrating and annoying one. I did say it was an "unusual" hybrid, not a "good" one. The CCG elements detract from the mobile app minigolf…

unlabelledView post →Golfie looks like a minigolf game, but it's really a physics puzzler in the guise of mini golf with limitations given by a deckbuilder aspect. I went into this expecting a minigolf game with randomly generated holes. This is not even what it tries to be. If you're looking for nice, polished courses, look elsewhere. This is a deck based physics puzzler, and I love it. You spend more time firing balls through the air and bouncing them off obstacles than you do trying to putt. It's all about…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Golfie is fun and simple to learn golf game, with some interesting mechanics. I would not have imagined golf and rogue-like elements fitting well together, but it works really here. The Deck building element also adds a variety of power-ups, and you have to be tactical with how and when you use them, which I really enjoyed. Golfie is great for short sessions, for example playing a quick run, on Steam Deck, on the buss. If you want a easily digestible, fun, relaxed, yet challenging golf game,…
