Stay away from this developer. Case in point is here... https://steamcommunity.com/app/402750/discussions/0/135508489634942805/ Posted some details in one of the new game forums to see if I actually get a response or a ban as expected. The reviews can't be stopped though and especially based on facts they cannot dispute. Sure, they have made their money at this point but it is worth giving others the option to see the true colors of this dev and decide for themselves. The game wasn't half bad…

The fundamentals are there but the execution is poor. Your character feels like they're running through peanut butter. The controls are just plain awful until you set them all up manually. The sound is actually worse than having no sound at all. The machine design is hilariously bad. It's like they looked at one picture of the machine and said yeah I can model that. The main missions are a joke. Heavy haulers don't dump ore in sea cans, and they don't use a crane to move those sea cans 200…

I cannot recommend this game, no matter at what price. The only pro in my opinion are the perfectly desigened machines. Other than that: It wants to be a sim, but apart from the controls it's rather arcady. Sounds are mostly crap, for example engine noises are way too weak (missing bass) or hydraulics noises painfully loud with headphones. The German translation is a joke btw, totally unusable. The put-on (unrealistic) puzzles are nothing but a hassle. The controls for all the more complex…

Very disapointing its not a simulation really the only simulation part is possibly sitting in the cabs. The engine noise is only one level (if that makes sense) you cant hear it growl or shifting gears whilst driving these vehicles you get a radio I only recognised some of the classical music the other music I have never heard of I am glad that there is classical music in there as driving some of these machines can be frustrating at times. Unfortunetely this is more of an arcade game driving…

Nope, save your money, it could have been a very good game but no its not, maybe for a 5 year old......and maybe if it had simulations like ETS2 - FS2015 and such.........bugger :-/ EDIT:same devs as Gold Rush, they abandoned Giant Machines and now try for Gold Rush :/

this game is a good laugh. "Start up the hydraulic excevator", yes but almost every excevator is hydraulic. Every machine has a mechanical handbrake with sounds recorded from a car, not realistic at all. And then you have hydraulic pressure building up so that you need to vent it. "highly" realistic that you just vent out oil on the ground. hauling 300 tonnes in a machine that is probably 100 tonnes on a regular road is not legal. and to add insult to injury, it feels like the rig weighs 10 kg…

This game, while has good premise, is extremely liniar, and offers absolutely no freedom for the player. It's a very rigid go here and do this, with no opportunity to explore or just have fun with these machines. While the machines handle and perform brilliantly, I would have liked a little more time with each one, and been able to mess around with them outside of the set missions. A "freeroam" or "sandbox" mode for this game would improve it greatly, but, as it is, I cannot reccomend it.

Giant Machines 2017 (GM17) is an interesting game but certainly not for everyone. You play around with about a dozen different machines in various missions. The missions are linear so there's almost zero replayability. Most of the missions are fairly interesting and almost all of them are different. It was a bit of a letdown that I found the first mission and machine the most impressing. Visually it's nothing special, but serves its purpose. It surely could look better, but these "simulator"…

I was very sceptical about this game and the first chapter didn't spoil me at all. However later in the game I discovered how much I enjoyed it. No detail was spared in the design and mechanics of the machines so you kinda nevermind some small imperfections elsewhere. Is there room for improvement? Sure. But I find the experiance worth of the money. Peace

    - Not very good game, i drive heavy machines in real life and this has nothing to do in real life machines got some good laughs how unrealistic this was so it`s positive. i think that this is some kind of simulator because the game title giant machines 2017 but not and if you want relaxing game play after work etc.. cannot recommend some missions are very annoying and stupid/boring like those unrealistic space shuttle transporting missions and overall missions is mostly repetitive and boring…

Giant Machines 2017 is one of those random simulators that were popular a few years back, this time focused on giant industrial vehicle operation. True to form, it's janky, ugly, often extremely tedious for no reason whatsoever, and not at all true-to-life despite that theoretically being the appeal of such games. It's kind of adorably bad (especially the hilariously nonsensical plot, in which you do literally all of the work to launch a space shuttle, including shutting down several disaster…

Positives 1)A very unique and interesting idea for a simulator, where you take the place of the users of giant machines used for various industrial purposes. 2)A variety of giant machines is incorporated into the game, ranging from giant lorries, to cranes and excavators. 3)Time trial challenges are available for some missions. Negatives 1)The game's sounds are pretty bad; so is the soundtrack choice. 2)The graphics could be somewhat improved, being a game released in 2016. 3)Walking…

Giant Machines 2017 is what happens when someone really good at game dev has a brilliant idea, works on it for a weekend, then kinda loses enthusiasm and puts it on the backburner. At it's heart, the game is fantastic. It has reasonably good graphics, it has TERRAIN DEFORMATION (serious props on that one), and whilst the physics is a bit dodgy, most things seem to be physics objects which is a nice touch. However, there's really not much of a game. Most of the time you seem to be taking a…

ok so i do like some of the game but having to flip fuzes to start equipment is stupid. also using a rock truk on the highway is stupid. On top of that who the hell would drive during tornados, and the fact that the space ship is not chined or secured in some way is just insane. so in conclusion don't waste your money!

At £14.99 (Steam) this game has a great bang for the bucks factor , I haven’t really been a fan of these types of games before due to the developers either not giving me enough detail in the graphics or extremes in the story , but Giant Machines has hit the nail on the head with this simulator. My advice for any gamer looking to buy this game is to push through the first mission it is tedious with the fixing and walking round a large machine but the remaining missions are worth the time.

Pretty unique game concept. You control and drive giant construction machines. The missions themselves are not that interesting and can be buggy. The game itself is also not that polished but overall it's a decent game and goes on sale often. Worth it on sale.

Wonderful game! But you have to know, what to expect. It is not a sim. It's not complicated. It's an exploration game, where you just enjoy handling this giants. It's a game of process, not achievements. A journey to any industrial show on Discovery channel. But it's short and there's nothing to do, except campaign.

I really love the genre. I think this game could have be absolutly awesome, but it's too short. I completed all the missions in 3 days (1-2 hours a day) I played a lot of simulator games of this genre and if the game was longer it would be one of my favorite. Pro: The world is really big machines are well designed Control are fun and somehow realistic Missons are fun and the 3 lasts are hard. Cons: TOO SHORT ! World is big but nothing to do in it. There are not enough mission No workshop…

This is a weird one. IDK. You operate various pieces of machinery to get the space shuttle to launch. It’s so weird that it has a story at all and the voice acting is actually not horrible. The problem is that the gameplay is just kind of boring. Most of the machines have simple mechanisms and thus, the levels are super simple and kinda just there. Plus, each machine gets used more than once but you do the same thing in each one so the variety of game play is lacking, which is bad for a game…

Giant Machines 2017 is a game about the jobs that we think are so cool, but like most cool jobs, they turn out to be dull. You take control of multiple giant rigs and control them to try and complete objective after objective. Watch out, though, the more pressure you put on these machines, the more likely you are to implode. Pros: + Realistic machines + Genuine fun moments + Great Concept Cons: - Empty world - Tedius gameplay - lack of consistency You can find my full review here…

This game is advertised as having modern and dynamic appearing visuals in the Steam store. I can guarantee you that it will not appear nearly as good as the videos depict, and trust me I may not have the most advanced GPU- but it is more than capable for a game that came out in 2017. The gameplay is almost child-like in it's simplicity, as if the game were made for a teen or pre teen. You are given things to do one item at a time, as if I cannot recall more than 2 steps at a time. It is by no…

The machines have specific points where you use them, so it's not as free-form as I was hoping. They are cool looking, but only using a machine from point A to B is boring. For instance, the excavator drives ahead, then mines a specific part on the mountain, and that's it; you can't even dig up the ground for funzies. I hope this was bought during a previous sale, as it's maybe $7 max.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zR3MJ9uCqII It's quite cool concept and fun to play, however game is lacking features. There could be a "sandbox" mode where you can spawn in the vehicles and create your own scenarios. To me it seems like the game has been rushed, it could be so much better. Still I do recommend it to those who want to drive some epicly giant machines and have some fun with them :)

Enjoyable... nothing earth shattering, but seems bug free... and the missions range from dull to interesting... and the storyline should not be taken seriously... it's kinda silly but easy enough to look past. Unlike similar titles like Farm simulator or the Trucking sims... you can die from numerous, sometimes funny consequences. It adds a couple of minor puzzles as well... making it an odd mix of genres. It's not sandboxy enough to really "play" in... it's pretty much on rails. In the…

Conceptually interesting, but it lacks way more than it intrigues. Immediately on launch my ears were blasted with music loud enough to make me take my headphones off before I could turn down the music, which didn't even have its own slider/toggle unlike almost every other game I've played, indie or not. The music jarringly changes from main menu to loading screen, and again from loading screen to gameplay. By default, the mouse sensitivity is set higher than Quentin Sommerville back in 2014.…
