I feel insane because I remember the original series being classics and now it seems pretty forgotten. I love this game, it's not the same thing as the old gauntlets but it's got it's own charm, and the wizard is a genuinely impressive feat of game design.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its okay but we need a dark legacy remaster
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having an absolute blast playing this with my wife, plus a friend and his wife. Two millennial households teaming up for some top-view dungeon crawling, undead smashing, gold grabbing and good old "making fun of each other's mistakes" nights. Loving every minute of it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gauntlet has been a major part of my life. I own Gauntlet on Atari, NES, SNES and a few other consoles. That being said, I have played every single Gauntlet game ever created do to hand-me-dawns from older brothers. I was more the NES generation. So the real question is does this feel like a Gauntlet game? The answer is no. This is a ARPG yes, but not neccessarily a gauntlet game at all. Sure I understand changes to modernize is one thing but the whole essence, soul, and game mechanics we…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, not as good as Dark Legacy, but I love it. Now I make mods for it :p
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to like Gauntlet for N64 nostalgia... but having finished it with my brother like The Good Old Days™... ...this feels like store brand Coca-Cola.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the $8 or whatever I paid for 4 games for my friends and I, it's ok. But damn did this game walk back on an already perfect game from GC/PS2/Arcade. Can we just get a steam version of Dark Legacy?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In name only. Boring generic mashup of others games not remotely OG Gauntlet. Anyone responsible for making this garbage should be left without food.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While browsing the steam store I stumbled upon this game and I thought this is a regular Hack and Slash RPG title, so I bought it. But no, very shortly after playing it was obvious something is strange. This is actually a remake of a ( apparently ) popular arcade game from 1985. The crucial factor to stress out is that Gauntlet is made for playing co-op ( up to 4 players ). It is not made for playing singleplayer! Not one of the steam reviews cared to mention that. Practically it's one of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →7/10 A classic. I briefly played the original Gauntlet back when it was just an arcade coin-slot game. It's been around for a while and this reboot does not disappoint. It manages to keep all of the charm of the original, including the isometric aesthetic despite also having updated graphics that make things more detailed, a rare sight indeed. The gameplay is fun and balanced, each character has a specific role to play and a specific playstyle that makes them feel unique. It's a bit hard…

A game that remembers when dungeon crawling was loud, messy, and best enjoyed together. The formula is classic for a reason. Pick a hero, dive into the maze, smash everything that moves, grab gold, repeat. It wastes no time pretending to be something it’s not. The controls…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This seems like they watered down classic Gauntlet...... Not sure I can honestly recommend it as the gameplay will get stale rather quickly.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Should've been Gauntlet: Dark Legacy Gauntlet was never a good series, (except for Legends & Dark Legacy,) and this one is the worst
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short and simple. Nothing too deep or complicated, just Gauntlet. The characters all play differently and add a little variety. Fun with friends.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this to bring another great classic game into my steam library. I've played gauntlet since the arcade days and will buy and play ever iteration that comes out because it is THAT much fun! I'll never forget alll the hours I dropped playing Gauntlet Dark Legacy on GC and I was so excited to bring the magic home! That was truly the sweet spot in making a long progression based RPG and definitely my favorite in the series. Meanwhile Gauntlet Slayer Edition is a fantastic reminder of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A solid hack‑and‑slash that shines brightest with friends. The classes feel distinct, the action is punchy and the gold‑stealing rivalry is basically a sport. It does get repetitive after a while, but honestly, so do I. [7/10]
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played the classic and older versions, this one is a bit run down but is still great fun WITH FRIENDS if you play this on your own you will be bored. I was lol! Get the 4 Pack and send it to your friends (haven't got any? friend me bro!) Childhood game: turned corporate but turned corporate before 2018 where microtransactions were rampant so it's still gr8 fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →nice game! reminds me of the old arcade game except doesnt eat quarters anymore... just time! game can get pretty hard after a while but its till fun! be prepared to die... A LOT! in fact most of the games achievements revolve around how often you die! if you're thinking of picking this one up id recommend getting it when its on sale! i grabbed it for under $5 and i definateley think it was worth it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An very enjoyable dungeon-crawling hack-and-slash, especially when played in co-op. The gameplay remains fun even after many hours. A very good experience in co-op still enjoyable in solo. 100% steam achievements Time : 67H Completion Difficulty : 6/10 Playthroughs : 1 + farm Missables : None Notable requirements : complete the main game on Hard, reach floor 50 in arena, farm a large number of kill with every heroes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like this game! Yes, its pretty old game, but still fun to play. Easy to understand the mechanics of the game. Playing with a friend with most times its just us, while running on endless mode but always made sure the party in on public so others can join us, just to carry us. 😂😂😂 My first time playing such game, still gets confused on which is which my hero is. Thinking I was already with the team yet I was stucked and being left behind. Sometimes the animation effects on the enemies are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gauntlet is a good revitalization of a long-dead IP. I played the original arcade version on my GBA ages ago. This is definitely a nice modernized version of it! The graphics are good, the characters are extremely unique and fun to try out, the gameplay loop keeps things engaging all the way thru. There is some things I didn't like about it, namely: 1. The fact there's no tutorial whatsovever. You get dropped in the game and the best you're gonna get is a "how to play" button on the pause…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice little "light Diablo"-kind of game to play with a friend. Not as good played alone, but I had some good times with my kid playing this once and a while. Basically an action game, where you select from different kind of typical fantasy game characters (warrior, wizard etc.) and play levels, where hordes of enemies come at you. Not quite long and a very simple game, but quite good entertainment you can enjoy time to time in short sessions.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Elf needs FOOD!! Fun game that brings back old memories while giving it new life with enhanced graphics and better gameplay. Items automatically pick up if you are near them without needing them so beware. Elf has an auto shoot if you hold the direction and a hold to shoot but that takes too much time for me I just auto shoot mostly. I couldn't find and multiplayer game matches ONLINE to play with others but it was late so maybe that was the reason. Unsure if it has much of an online…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this games years ago on my friends pc and never forgot the name. finally got my own now and i can say that it is defently fun to play with friends local and online. def worth the money
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played the original 1985 all the time in arcades then on consoles it's the only game I know of that never had and end to the game, yeah the 1985 Arcade version never ended until years later when the developers added an end to it. So I went in thinking this would be like the Arcade oh I was so wrong it actually sucks even more than the Arcade I honestly have No clue how you can do that but it was done. All the characters in this game are 9 steps behind what the original gave players, like the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was happy to discover one of the Gauntlet titles make it to Steam. This feels a bit too MOBA-y for a Gauntlet game, but it's still fun to grab a few friends to smash some spawners.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I used to spend more than five dollars in a few hours pumping quarters into Gauntlet at the 7-11
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a great remake of a classic game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What's not to love about a simple hack and slash. Had plenty of fun with it in coop. Well worth it for £5 if you have a few friends to join.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't expect to have this much fun. Game really flows well and everything feels so smooth. Combat is fun and challenging time to time so perfectly balanced. Levels are designed really well, you don't get lost in them and can easily traverse through. Loot is adequate but since inventory is unique not shared whoever gets first, get the whole package so you need to negotiate if you plan to play coop. Otherwise other players might get left behind a lot. Upgrades not really thought well because…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The base gameplay here is fun. Difficulty ramps up pretty quick, and you will fail hard if you stick with the base build. The game requires experimentation and flexibility, which is good. The production quality for this game is very high. While it doesn't have as catchy a soundtrack as previous gauntlet games (Dark Legacy's was incredible), the overall sound quality is good. Some of the voice acting and character quips got me giggling, like the elf entering one area and saying, "Oooh, this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a great dungeon crawler game with up to four players than can play at a time different playable charters and different difficulties that you can play as well also has an endless mode that you can get lots of gold in
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even 12 years after release it looks decent, runs great even in 4k, the gameplay is fun, the campaign is great, the characters are very different, has 4 player local and online coop as well, has a bunch of modes and is just great fun for quite a few hours! The only downsides are the last boss, which is pretty damn frustrating on hard and the brutal grind for the characters' items.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nope. Game was pretty boring and only got half an hour in and have had no desire to play more. I haven't even thought about this game since I played. Unfortunate since this is a classic game series and I wanted to like it. Maybe it gets better later? Maybe some day I'll give it another try. No idea though and no desire to find out. Sadly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm upset that they threw this game away so soon after it's release....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An upgraded version of the old school game many new aspects and ways to play the classic style game fun with much upgraded graphics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gauntlet is a fun diablo 1 style game. Its really fun to play with an Xbox controller. You are just running around hacking up monsters, collecting treasure and keys. There isn't much depth to it. Just hack and slash. Its not bad at this. The graphics are nice for its time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought the 4-pack and sent the extra copies to friends. I hated the controls of switching spells/abilities. I tried it on both controller and mouse & keyboard. I retrieved all the copies I handed out and refunded the purchase. The 4-pack was on sale for $6 at the time, but I still felt it was money poorly spent.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game would be half playable if it had a dodge mechanic, even on normal mode you're dead in about 3-4 hits
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved gauntlet legends as a kid, and this game is just alright. Definitely lacks the content and customization that previous gauntlet titles have. So buy it on sale, I got my copy for like $3. Still a fun drinking game to pick up with your buddies every now and then
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →no nostalgia, no content, an absolute waste of time and resources. As someone whos spent more sun up to sundown days playing this in the arcade with friends and my stepdad, it was more an insult than anything to play. completed the game "game modes" in less than 7 hours. pathetic really.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →... What the **** are you guys doing with my beloved franchise!? This has less content than the original bloody arcade are you joking! not to mention what the **** is that pricing. Shame on the producers, devs and anyone who had a hand in making this. DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome gameplay! Unbeatable graphics at 2020! Superb way of presenting a game to the private game player!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun game, great coop, but very short. It's worth if it you can catch the game on sale!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They tried to add microtransactions.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wizard: Lvl 55 endless. Completed all difficulty. Add me if you play regularly or want help. This is similar to OG gauntlet. Pretty much what its supposed to be. In the original you had a primary attack and potions, that's it.. so the light additions to all the heroes are pretty cool. The game is very difficult and It's supposed to be. Expect to die lots. Hard is actually hard. I see a lot of complaints about hero imbalance and while I agree to a small extent, I'd rather say this is NOT…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →im beating my husband whenever he takes sum gold thnks
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great fun for co-op! Have done full play through several times and enjoyed them all. Very girlfriend friendly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gauntlet, developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by WB Games, is a modern reimagining of one of the most iconic cooperative arcade experiences in gaming history. This updated version, known in its enhanced form as the “Slayer Edition,” brings the classic dungeon-crawling chaos of the 1980s original into a more modern framework while preserving its fast-paced spirit and unmistakable charm. The goal remains familiar—venture into monster-filled dungeons, grab as much treasure as you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolute banger, fantastic emotes, cant believe they didn't do a helldivers 2 crossover with this iconic masterpiece. Would recommend (w/ friends). Fr tho, good ~5 hour campaign with some friends was fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll be honest, isometric dungeon crawlers are not my go to. My friend really wanted me to play this game with him and I do find myself playing solo time to time. It is really well done. Not too challenging but also not that easy either! A fun lil co-op experience to plat with some friends and a couple of brewskis.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is still good despite how old it is. I think this game should update tbh :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Couch co-op with my 10 year old Son. I would advise to get 2 gamepads, good fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hack and slash dungeon crawl. Tons of simple multiplayer fun. It gets technical enough without making the game feel overwhelming.
