unlabelledView post →ICYMI: I wrote a booklet essay for Arrow Video's release of For a Few Dollars More, which is very possibly my favorite Leone film, and it's finally available for preorder. (and it looks beautiful, thanks to cover art by Tony Stella.)

Day #292 "For a Few Dollars More" (Sergio Leone/1965) Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef are out for the bounty on an outlaw in this fantastic Western. Amazing direction, as always from Leone and incredible score from Morricone!

Four coffins." This film is simply a joy to watch. Looking forward to FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE to complete the trilogy.
unlabelledView post →Excellent choice. Personally, I prefer For a Few Dollars More. The first scene where Lee Van Cleef and Eastwood meet is maybe my favorite scene in any movie. The ability for them to communicate and learn everything they need to know about each other without speaking a single word is incredible.

unlabelledView post →If I had a nickel for every time the villain in an episode with a title parodying the movie "For a Few Dollars More" becomes enlightened by infinite knowledge of the universe and stops being evil, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
unlabelledView post →You should watch For a Few Dollars More sometime soon. Today? It's two hours long but it's the perfect movie to watch in half hour chunks. And then after that you should go for an hour long walk. What after that? How about you make some love?
unlabelledView post →Spaghetti Westerns rock, & Sergio Leone was the emperor of that jazz. Easy to get lost in his films. Fave: The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly, no doubt. Fourth-favorite film, impossibly epic breadth, flawless score, spectacular conclusion. Perfect. Least fave: MAYBE For a Few Dollars More? Still dope.

unlabelledView post →Saw "For A Few Dollars More". Ending the day with an old spaghetti western feels good man. What's crazy to me is how modern action actors don't want to be seen losing fights, but Clint Eastwood get's his ass beat for a whole two minutes straight. Mad respect

unlabelledView post →Lessee...when I was 10, movies from 30 years before would have been 1965... "That Darn Cat!" was #6 that year. I was very familiar with that film by age 10. "For a Few Dollars More" I probably would have enjoyed if I was allowed to see it. I had seen and liked some films from the 60s in general.

unlabelledView post →watching FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE for the first time since maybe college and god I forgot how delightful this movie is. Morricone’s score (of course), with a Jew’s harp featured so prominently! the close-ups! everything about Lee Van Cleef!
unlabelledView post →Share a cinema villain whom you feel is deeply underrated. For me, I’m going with El Indio in “For a Few Dollars More.” At first glance, he seems like just another trigger-happy psychopath, but it’s clear throughout the film that he’s more complex than that. And Gian Volonte does an incredible job.
unlabelledView post →Watching For A Few Dollars More (on SBS World Movies) Forgot how weirdly trippy psychopathic parts of the film are.
unlabelledView post →It’s kinda weird to be as niche a film writer as I am (although I’m really not- I write about *every/anything* as proven by my recent work on the COBRA & FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE discs) and have someone get excited about what you do. My Korean teacher did today and that was pretty nifty 😻

unlabelledView post →On For a Few Dollars More of the Dollars trilogy and I'm realizing... yeah. Obviously the samurai film comparison has been made. Fistful of Dollars was a Yojimbo remake but... these are sword and sorcery pulp stories. Eastwood's character is American Conan. I do choose to believe it's all one guy.
