positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lots of fun to play in local Co-op with friends or family.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hate to give this one a negative review, especially because it has a slick interface, a fun design, and interesting boss levels. But the game does two things that drag the experience into frustratingly unplayable for single player, and dubious in coop. First, there's very little texturing for folks that are colorblind. You can lock colors (which helps), but especially on smaller screens like the Steam Deck, color hints and visual cues are somewhat difficult to see. It's frustrating, but on its…

Overall Rating - Seriously Flawed ★★☆☆☆ First Impressions Despite what the title might suggest, Flat Heroes (FH) has nothing to do with chest-deprived females. Instead, it refers to the minimalist style, as everything is comprised of geometric shapes. It was a small, simple game I could download quickly, so I thought…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a huge fan, at least as a single player game. Currently stopped at world 7 out of 10. Worth noting that the game might be pretty fun as a multiplayer game, but I wouldn't recommend it if you plan on playing alone. Now that I've actually played the game It is pretty obvious that this game was designed first as a Multiplayer game, it just happens to function okay as a singleplayer game. The trailer and description do mention multiplayer, but the game is still very much advertised as a solid…

unlabelledView post →Its a decent game but is incredibly hard on single player. much easier coop since its the same levels except there's 2 - 4 targets for the enemies to go after. For coop, yeah. for single player, ehh only if you hate yourself.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite my positive recommendation, I have one major complaint about this game: your avatar is a square that rolls to move. Hrm... a SQUARE that ROLLS... does anyone else see the problem with the physics of this? So if you want to move your square just a little bit, you are out of luck because the square will roll back to where you started or will roll further forward than you want if you hit a certain threshold. If your square is tilted in air, you could land on your corner and move into…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easily one of the best games I have played to date, but requires very high skill and focus to be successful. The description below is straight from Parallel Circles website about Flat Heroes which I am including as is, because it is accurate, concise and comprehensive. Flat Heroes is a minimalist super intense local multiplayer game with special care put into the game-feel and polishing of every detail in a trendy graphic experience. The game includes multiple cooperative and competitive…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun and mostly overlooked dodging game, sort of like Geometry Wars if it were a platformer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredibly fun Minimalistic game that will have you sweating tons and testing your reaction time but once you form your own solution, you feel incredibly satisfied and hop straight into the next challenge. Flat Heroes has you playing as a simple block and then throws you into a box and says "can you last long enough?" as it throws enemies, obstacles or both towards you until the game says "alright you passed, onto the next one". You can Hop and you can Deflect, you also have a Dash but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're interested in game design, this is a noteworthy game to study. It basically turned the hand-holding tutorial of how to play a game into an enjoyable game in and of itself while maintaining solid art direction. I finally got around to trying this with multiple non-gamers in four-plyaer co-op, and everyone had a lot of fun. It's easy for many gamers to forget that many games on the market just assume a strong understanding of game controls from their players, which leaves many…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now if people ask me to name some "hidden gems", I'll point to this game. Realistically nobody will ask :) but it's nice to have such a strong example.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun, especially in coop. I have no idea why it's in my library, so I'll mark it as received for free.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If this game didn't have co-op I would've refunded this in the first 5-10 minutes when I learn that keyboard support for this game is a piece of garbage. The menu was the first YIKES when it doesn't even show the keyboard bindings to select options, select, cancel, etc. I had to press every button on the keyboard to figure that out, literally. No custom rebinding and worst - jump/dash on space bar. The one of the WORST spots for a jump/dash in a game that requires more precise movement and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice little challenging game, playing it with my girlfriend and it's a lot of fun !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent game! Super fun solo, even more fun as a couch co-op! Tons of fun coop campaign levels and bosses to beat and Survival levels to unlock. Must buy!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Flat Heroes is a minimalist action dodger / platformer. I loved its UI. It's simultaneously minimalist, recursive, very cohesive, and just fun to interact with. Most levels are short and to the point, and feature quite a variety of enemies with different but predictable attack patterns. Controls are comfortable and responsive. I enjoyed the regular levels, and while the overall difficulty curve is wildly inconsistent (very difficult levels are interspersed with trivial ones), it's mostly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Veeeery straight-to-the-point tight platformer avoid 'em up game in a minimalist visual style which you can play solo or with up to 4 players. All modes (campaign, survival and versus) are playable alone (versus with bots) or with more players. Jump, air dash, melee attack, levitate, levitate-dash and the hidden secret black belt technique: jump-dash-levitate-dash which makes a double dash possible. The difficulty ramps up from easy to ridiculously hard. Has a daily survival challenge and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Flat Heroes is fun for a little while, but for me it lost its appeal pretty quickly. There is definitely some value here if you like minimalist games, and the multiplayer is a nice plus, but the core idea did not have enough staying power to keep me hooked for long. I can see it being worth picking up for the right group, especially if you want something simple to mess around with together, but there is a decent chance you will only get an hour or two out of it before moving on. Not bad, just…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game in which the demo actually made me buy the game. To put it simply: This is a solid couch co-op experience to play with friends. & With the addition of the Daily survival game mode on top, you can enjoy the game even without having to rely on people being in yer house. Try the demo if you're unsure. That is all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Flat Heroes fulfills the need of a precision platformer which after Super Meat Boy and Celeste is my Favorite :D A sheer joy :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A epic little platformer that is great with freinds 54/100
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too great for $10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got Flat Heroes on both PC and console and it's just amazing. I thought this would be mainly a thing I played with friends, but I ended up having a blast completing the normal and the hard mode on my own. Controls are super tight, there are lots of levels and variety and it feels great. The game can get quite hard at some points, but stages are pretty short so it's rarely frustrating. Really recommend it if you enjoy challenging platformer games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How did they make moving a box feel so good?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a such a great game to play with a brother or friend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basics Flat Heroes. I played through the first World (14 levels, one boss level) in around 10 to 15 minutes, this time is however skewed since I already played through it twice before that. I controlled a cube that is trying to survive inside a bigger cube by evading enemies. Conclusion The game is definitely worth picking up, even if just for the singleplayer experience. It is easy, quick and does not require a lot of time, neither for playing nor for learning it. The main focus seems to be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →oh my god i love this game so much, its like finding actual treasure. PLEASE GIVE THIS GAME A TRY.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →God I wish I had reviewed this game back when I played it constantly. It's so so so good. The visuals are so slick and the controls are incredibly crisp. The soundtrack is perfect. I can't tell you how many parties have been dominated by playing this in couch co-op. Sublime underrated gem.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Flat Heroes my beloved
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a masterclass in 2D platformers with only 2 buttons + movement you would expect very simple gameplay, and it is, but the skill ceiling is amazingly high. the game only has a simple set of rules for each enemy, and the interactions between players and enemies, as well as the enemies with themselves is so unique. Also the game has an absolute slapper of a soundtrack Overall: 20/10 (my 5 hours of playtime on steam is me buying this game after nearly 300 hours on switch)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Flat Heroes is an OKAY game. It's fun for a bit, but nothing special. MEH
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely goated, tight controls, understandable gameplay. All the enemies are endlessly interesting to go up against. Highly recommended especially for how cheap it is.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fantastic fun 2d game worth the time and worth it to play with my kids
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everywhere in the game, there is thought put into good design. The controls are incredibly delightful. Nice features are everywhere. I also love the minimalistic graphics. Simple shapes compose everything, and each having meaning. It is just a great game in general to play with your friends. That's the best part. If you're playing this alone, you are missing out! Battling friends or helping each other out is really one of the best parts of this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game. Last boss is ass
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I had friends to play this with me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play. Suffer. Play more. Suffer more. You are now happy, yet people say money can't buy happiness
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very platformage, even has enemies hard as nuts though
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pure minimalistic action 顺便打个广告,北美找不到人远程同乐的同志们欢迎加入https://discord.gg/XymHMjvDBu
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of those minimalist 2D death trap platformers where you play a block and dodge projectiles and whatnot. It was fine though I found the controls a touch unresponsive for the demands of the game. I could see it being more fun in multiplayer but it didn't really grab me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a really good looking and fluid feeling game about a square trying not to get killed. The game starts off easy but then ramps up the difficulty immensely. Its a gradual curve so nothing feels too crazy apart from the final boss which took me 2-3 hours to beat. All of this and I still have not even beaten Hero world 2. If you can get this on sale its an absolute steal.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think this is the most polished indie game I've ever seen. Catchy music, slick UI and visuals. It's a great couch co-op. The controllers always just seem to work (unlike many other games). No fuss, just jump in. Game play is straightforward but challenging. 10/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is definitely in the top few action/platformers I've ever played. The game gets progressively more challenging, but the controls are intuitive and very responsive. The later levels are very difficult, but it never seemed like I lost unfairly, and the entire game is definitely beatable (and I'm far from an expert player). The game is best played with a friend, but it's still amazing in single player. I wrote this because I don't understand some of the recent reviews that claim it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My experience with the game so far has been solely playing solo. Keep that in mind. There's a difference between challenging and aggravating. The later levels are stupid difficult. The 'you need luck to pull it off' kind of difficult. When you can beat a level once (with said luck) and would need to try 20+ more times just to beat it again, ideas of proficiency have been thrown out the window. I've never cussed at my television so much. Hope you don't have a spouse or room mate...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple concept but can be very challenging as you move up in worlds/level. No tutorials but basic platformer controls: platformer movement, break, jump and dash. Haven't tried multiplayer yet but i can see how crazy it can get. A minimalist game but has that retro style colors. Doesnt even need that much pc power in terms of computers these days. Original price is a bit high, but steam deals are great with the fun you get... can be addicting for those who has the drive to see how far they can…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is terrible, there is no tutorial, you can't figure out the mechanics, some levels are almost impossible and inconsistent, I don't even think the developer playtested it! this game is terrible and i would never wish upon anyone to ever play it, yes the multiplayer aspects of it are sort of fun, but the "campaign" is trash! they reused the entire game, put a square next to the player, and renamed it to "hero mode". this game was rushed, not playtested, and a heaping load of absolute…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Challenging local co-op game with various unique, interesting mechanics. Controller recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun little game, easy to start, hard to master. Had a blast in 4 player local co-op ! I totally recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only played campaign. Game itself is really entertaining and intuitive. Minimalist style looks very cool. I highly recommend using gamepad in this particular game as it will positively affect sense of control. To be honest, I don't think that Flat Heroes is worth the price publisher asks. For 2.5-5$ it would be must have, but not for 10$.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seriously the best couch co-op game I own. Easy for anyone to pick up even if they've never played video games before, and still challenging for experienced players. Probably the only game I've seen a room full of people really cheer to see a level beat
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cant remember why i bought this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The minimalist and colorful aesthetic together with very upbeat and motivating music makes this game very pleasant to play... for a time. The gameplay runs very smoothly and transitions nicely from level to level, or from failure to the level reset, making the whole experience very fluent. The "enemy" design is clear, varied and creative as far as what they do, and you always know how you are going to be screwed over. The boss design is also very nice, clever and fresh. I also like how the…
