I was really hopeful for this but unfortunately it's a bit lacking and has just a few too many small things holding it back. Randomly generated levels do not go well with platforming, at least not here. The amount of times I've died unfairly or been handed an evac point before finding any victims and am unable to go back into the building is maybe half of the runs I've played? Admittedly runs are short so getting dealt a poorly generated level is not too punishing - even if you immediately die…

Full disclosure: I did a bunch of art for this game. That said, I'm not obligated to beat the game or anything. Lets get this out of the way. The game has some rough edges, and I found the first few missions to be too hard. Once you grind out a few critical upgrades, the game really comes in to it's own and keeps getting better. Each big upgrade changes the game, making it play faster and giving you more interesting tactics. Story is surprisingly cool, and the art. I mean, I don't want to…

This game should have been released in early access. It obviously needs a lot more testing and polish. Some frustrating aspects that stood out to me: There is no map. The building stage can get kind of elaborate and it's confusing trying to navigate through the areas with a bunch of doors and staircases. This is probably intentional to create a sense of panic, but it just adds to the frustration of the game. The procedural level generation makes no sense when the game limits the amount of…

I really like this game. The updates since the release (3 days after release) have really addressed the serious problems that were hurting this game. The art direction is awesome, and the game is fairly straight forward.

I like what i see so far. The art is great and reminds me of old school games. I love the concept of playing a firefighter and putting out fires while saving people and animals. The look of using the hose never gets old. Putting out fires is fun. But the game play needs a bit of work: The camera is too close to the character leading to many deaths that don't feel fair. The rag doll physics need to be turned down. Right now the effects are too much making you fly all over the screen leading…

I really wanted to like this game, but I just can't with it anymore. Maybe someday I'll give it another go, but as it stands, there are too many little things that are just too frustrating. I really tried to give it a good shake and kept playing for a couple hours, but nope. So I really wanted to like it because the animations are fun and engaging. The way they combine pixelated graphics with 3D effects was a lot of fun. The silly characters were easy on the eye. The concept was a lot of…

The art style alone covers the cost of entry, but playing the game from beginning to end proved to be an absolute blast. Waiting until the February patch seemed to be the right move as I have had zero issues with this game, save a crash or two. The colors, animations, game play, procedural generation, and level design are superb. I simply wish there was more!!

Good idea, poor execution. The biggest problems are the 2.5D graphics and camera. It would've been miles better if it were just 2D, SNES/Genesis style with a zoomed out camera so you could easily see what's above or below you. As it is now, using the left shoulder/trigger buttons to pan the camera up/down doesn't cut it. The game is also very dark and many spots are hard to see. If you get hit by an enemy there's significant knock back. There's a tiny delay when firing your water hose.…

I played this for hours, got pretty far, but every time I am doing a bigger run for the hardest medals the game crashes, specially when extinguishing a projectile from the wall fires with the hose. I lost my patience. I like the game but this is torture, completely broken.

It's one of those games I want to recommend, as it is honestly a fun little title. But the problem is the key word is "little". Outside of the final stage there are only four types of levels: An apartment complex, runaway train, forest fire, and hotel fire. On top of that there are only a handful of enemies that show up, so there isn't a lot of variety. Also, the most interesting stage was the last one where there was an actual boss battle, but...that's the ONLY fight and level like that in the…

Yes, but... I first played it back in 2022. I was amazed by how good it looked, let's be honest, it really is visually appealing. However, I ended up quitting in frustration because I found it unfair and incredibly annoying. In 2025, I realised that I had never uninstalled it, so I decided to give it another chance. It's still frustrating, mainly due to the procedural level design. Sometimes you die simply because of how the level is generated. Maybe it's an enemy you can’t avoid, a leap…

TL;DR As of an hour in, it's fun but hard. Can't hardly get through some RNG levels when you have only a few upgrades. I imagine like many games a patch or two will sort out the frustrations a little more and resolve a couple crashes I had. I'd still recommend it and think it's going to really shine with a touch of polish and tweaking. The formula is there. It's fun but there are a few things that frustrate me at the start. Difficulty was variable. Some levels I'd barely get a scratch but…

*First Impressions* Solid platforming and a good weight to the axe to make it feel like more of a struggle to break down the doors, gives a good sense of urgency. I also enjoy the different 2.5D perspective to the pixel art style, honestly feel refreshing to look at especially with the added water reflections. Also like the added touch of the "cutified" and personified flames. While the houses/hotels do feel similar as they are procedurally generated some of the later levels clearly change…

In contrary to many other reviews, I had fun playing the game, enough to finish the story and get 100% achievements. The graphics are really nice, the music is good, and the mechanics are simple to use and understand. To me, to procedural generation of the levels felt robust, once I understood the logic of the various types of doors (a burning arrow means that you won't be able to go back, which means that all other paths except the level exit (green sign) will be dead ends, so explore those…

It's not a terrible game, and I enjoy it for most of a mission untill the same crap happens over and over. I die 98% of the time to the same stupid mechanic. A burst of flame sometimes pushes out behind you, from where you just came. But it does so irregardless of what the game spawned in front of you. I had just finished the tutorial after starting over, thinking I could do better than my initial run at the game. But no thank you, apparently. On the very first mission after the tutorial, a…

It's a fun, relatively short, but unique roguelite about saving people from burning buildings and some other story elements. Honestly nothing really wrong with it, it's fun to play, and looks great. I wouldn't pay full price for this, but it is certainly worth checking out on sale, and deserves more than the review score makes it seem. A lot of negative reviews seem to be either from crashing or not knowing where to go/dying too quickly and not getting money. I had no crashes so that may have…

Okay so this game is rough. but i'd say its number one flaw is making you too weak at the start of the game. the game I think starts you off with smaller levels at the start but because its random. some runs just die. As Firegirl, the daughter of a once great firefighter and new to the force, you are tasked with dowsing countless fires that have sprung up in the city. The visual style is most likely what immediately catches your eye when looking at footage of the game. Firegirl relies heavily on fast paced movement and the sprite-art is really clean. This game is SO close to being good. It's got a lot of ingredients of an excellent little indie. I just wish it assembled them better. Foremost, the decision to randomly generate each level is just ruinous. A version of this game with actual crafted levels might flip my thumb on this review. As is, the randomness screws over the player constantly. Nonsensical building layouts with no indication when you're getting close to a survivor needing rescue leads to there never being enough time to…

I really want to like this game, but it seems determined to keep finding ways to disappoint me. - The pixel art of the characters (especially Firegirl) needs more polish and detail. 90s pixel art puts this to shame. It is aesthetically jarring when paired with the clean and detailed 3d maps. - Audio begins at game launch before taking into account the sound level that has been set in the settings. - There is an upgrade to speed up the horrendously slow axe, but doesn't appear to be one to…

A fun, albeit somewhat short game that's unfortunately underrated due to its issues on release. Great art and soundtrack. Just a little difficult to control the hose especially when you need to jump across. Procedural map generation is cool but sometimes can create annoying combinations of platforms and enemies. Most people won't like the timer but for this game I like it. Creates an urgency to rescue, escape and assess the surrounding quickly. For now I will give it a thumbs up, will update after playing some more.

Pretty fun game! Love the environment detail and the sprite work. Also has a great soundtrack. The cast of characters is entertaining and full of personality. Lots of challenge in each level I played, and nice that the game rewards you even if you fail. There were a couple of instances where I jetted up or down into rooms and landed on fire monsters, or times where I got stuck on top of a backdraft and died, so there are certainly some small improvements to be made in terms of visibility and…

Still needs some graphic optimization though, really, even on Mid-Low graphical settings the Nekotomi plaza stage is making my GPU explode. 1-Good idea, bad execution. The controls for mouse are bad. Feels like it wants to be a casual, chill game, but it ends up being more frustrating than relaxing. Great concept, poor execution, with too many unpolished elements. The art and animations are nice, and the sound design does its job, but it clashes with a strange stripped-down UI that feels unfinished. The biggest issue is the gameplay loop. The game is really likable with its pretty and quirky graphics, but there are too many flows in the gameplay for my tastes. Controls are kind of awkward in how you can't shoot water toward fires while you're off the ground. Sometimes you have to jump off a train car only to find out mid jump that there is a fire bat in your path, and you can't shoot it off. Most anoying is the lack of sense of direction which, coupled with the timer ticking, can get extremely frustrating. Failing a mission for…

This gamed has a lot of potential. (You can guess where this is going to end up, yes?) The main thing that kills it is the procedural generation. The timer does not help but it's the PG stuff that really does it in. You have to rescue a human and get out before the building collapses. Fine. Each building is different. Fine. If you are on the fence about trying this give it a go I don't think you will regret it. Not great, but not bad. Should have been a level based game rather than a rogue-like as the random levels and repetition adds nothing to the game. Core platforming and concept is fun, and the graphics are a nice blend of pixel and 2.5D, and the story is fine, albeit janky. It's like dipping your toes into the shallow end of the pool, to get a feel, and then before you have learnt to swim, someone tosses you right into the deep end and has you figure it out. Game is rad. Visually super impressive with water pooling via hose and reflection off said water. Its mindless, don't think too hard. There's crashing, but for me reinstalling fixed it. Dev is super responsive for how small the game is, and how much it costs, as well as the games age. Super impressive.

This game was super fun and quirky. The levels were quick which kept things fresh. It was very satisfying saving people and getting progressively better with each upgrade. I really enjoyed the art style as well; but I do love pixel art. The story was definitely quirky but that's what I like about it XD. It's buggy and the story is a bit disjointed (especially at the end in both cases). Though, At the end of the day, a game doesn't need to perfect to make you happy :D

𝔸 𝕘𝕒𝕞𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕕𝕠𝕖𝕤𝕟'𝕥 𝕨𝕠𝕣𝕜 𝕞𝕠𝕤𝕥 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕥𝕚𝕞𝕖... 𝕚𝕤 𝕟𝕠 𝕘𝕒𝕞𝕖 𝕒𝕥 𝕒𝕝𝕝! I've only managed to make this game work for a couple of times before it completely shut down... The sad part is that during those few times I managed to get it to properly function, I've had a lot of fun! The game is about some firefighting girl, who can throw water to take care of fire as well as use her pickaxe to get into doors or clear rubble! Stages are random but very…

Honestly, this is one of the few games I have reviewed negatively. Let us begin with the fact that if you're using an ultrawide screen, there isn't any support at proper full resolution. Once I went full screen, I could see anything below my character's feet. The lack of a minimap is deplorable, and I can't tell you how many times I died jumping down between buildings and you didn't make ground in random spots, so you land and randomly just die, its so much fun; speaking of randomly dying how…

A perfect example of how to take a few simple mechanics, spice them up with silly story and make an incredibly fun to play rogue-lite platformer out of that. The only downside is that it's a bit short. Good looking graphics, responsive controls and fairly hard randomized levels which you can make a bit easier with upgrades to your equipment and medals earned for specific actions on the levels. Some upgrades available from the start, but some only when you find and save specific characters.
