What people are saying
A charming but very short and simple farming sim, praised for relaxation.
Players appreciate Firefly Village as a relaxing, bite-sized farming sim that strips away complexity. Many find it perfect for unwinding, with one calling it 'a neat, tightly designed package' that captures the fun of the genre without the grind. [3][19]
However, the game's small scale and brevity draw criticism. Some feel the map is 'VERY small' and the content too limited, leading to boredom. Others note bugs and clunky controls, with one player reporting that an update 'broke cooking' and caused item deletion. [7][30][36]

60 of 99 · most liked firstI absolutely hate that steam doesn't have a middle ground option. I don't like giving negative reviews when I feel a game has potential, which this one absolutely does - so don't read my review and just write it off. Just there are a lot of things about the game that make it, in my opinion, unenjoyable to play. First, the game starts off in a completely different language. No idea what is being said, what I'm supposed to read or what. Then suddenly it switches to english? I'm incredibly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay, I'm really torn between a thumbs-up and thumbs-down on this one, but I'm giving it the thumbs up because I do appreciate the hard work that one developer puts into something like this AND it really doesn't lie about what it's giving you. First the good: It's cute, it's another Stardew clone, and it's inexpensive. The develop labels this as a simplified life sim and that's precisely what it is, simplified. If you like Stardew Valley but think it's too big, there are too many NPCs, too…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Firefly Village is what I call a micro farming sim. It has all of the elements of a typical farming sim, but everything has been extremely simplified. I love farming sims, but sometimes they can be a bit overwhelming with all the systems. So the idea of a super simplified farming sim was very appealing. The goal of this game is just to chill and have fun, and it does succeed at that. FireFly Village has four minute days and 7 day seasons. I did feel that the 4 minute days were too short. Yes,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is extremely cute and I appreciate the laid-back approach but there's just not much of a game here. There wasn't anything to give me those sweet sweet serotonin hits; no sense of progression or accomplishment.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll change my review if the game breaking bugs ever get fixed. But the new update broke cooking and you can't use chests with stacks because it deletes everything in the stack except one item when you try to pull anything out of the chest. I had a lot of fun before the update, kinda wish it hadn't been updated because everything worked before. But we'll see if it gets fixed. I only put a negative review because the dev hasn't responded to any of the complaints of the new bugs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Farming Sim Goodness, compressed, distilled, and in a neat, tightly designed package. This is all the fun of a regular, addictive loop of farming, fishing, mining, logging, and socializing, reaching mid and long-term goals, and being part of a charming community in a much more convenient package than the likes of Rune Factory or Stardew Valley. It's great if you're burnt out from spreadsheet simulators or the drive to optimize, as the game has 7 day seasons, low-maintenance animals, and very…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't think I have played a more shallow game in my life. Literally every thing in this game is puddle deep. Every single day you just go around collecting items to sell so you can eventually buy other things that only allow you to get more money quicker and through other means like the pickaxe. It genuinely felt like I was playing an incremental game and every day was the next round
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Baby's first farming sim. Don't play if you're expecting the complexity of Stardew. No other game will be Stardew. We need to move on. This is a charming and simple farming sim. The seasons last 7 days, the map is limited and you can easily talk to all the NPCs in one day. There are seasonal crops, foraging and fishing. Easy to make money. No energy bar. Relaxing. If you've played Littlewood, this one is stripped down even more. You can tell the dev really worked hard and loved this game.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay So if its a farming game- I've played it. So I was curious when they said this was a "bite sized farming game". All the fun parts of farming games, with none of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that makes a game not fun? Um... Its hard. I've been enjoying the game but it just seems UNFINISHED. I mean come on, the map is so damn small I wanted to refund immediately. Id really like this game honestly I enjoyed playing it- BUT- THEY NEED TO FIX THE CHARACTER MOVEMENT, I ended up quitting the game because I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've finished and 100% this in 7 hours, I did not expect this to be that short, but considering the simple contents of this game, 7 hours is just perfect for it, without it feeling like it drags on. I finished the game on Winter 5, Year 2. I really enjoyed my time with this game, it really is a bite-size farming sim game, everything is bite-size. Few crops per season, 7 days per season, which seems very short but for THIS game and the small contents this game bring out, with everything…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very simple farm game. The world feels very, VERY small. To the point where I considered refunding it initially. If exploring is one of your favorite things... this is not the game for you. Small and simple is not necessarily a bad thing. This is game for someone who wants a farming sim that is very low stress or simply one where you can complete everything in a reasonable amount of time. You can't hoard. As someone who likes to have a surplus of EVERYTHING in a game stored in a chest,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm finding it pretty relaxing and enjoyable so far. The controls can be slightly clunky at times, mostly the movements when farming, but nothing major.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really enjoying the game so far in the first few hours I've played! It includes familiar elements from some other popular farming sims while adding new aspects that make it feel like a fresh addition to the genre. Definitely recommend, especially given the very reasonable price point!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's cute, cozy and fun. If you're looking for a grind this isn't the game. It's fun just running around the limited map though, picking up forage, fishing, gifting villagers, etc. You can get farm animals, who require very little maintenance, and crops grow quickly. My favorite festival so far is the egg fest, cause I can run around and collect every egg (even though I only need 20 my OCD needs to get them ALL lol). Can't do that in Stardew. So it's nice to be able to do that. This game is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. Look forward to dumping in more hours
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What happens when you take a farming game, speed it the f up and make things super simple to accomplish? You get this game! And... It actually works. Firstly, the game has charm. It has a certain warmth to it. You can feel the Developer's love and I am overly grateful that he gave a damn about the game. Also... Just a heads up... Leo alone could've sold the game. XD For me anyway. He is such a cutie/sweetie!!! Ah right well... If the speed is too fast for ya? You can change it,…

unlabelledView post →Its a great game, but due to its bite-sized nature, you'll end up wanting more content towards the end of your playthrough. I definitely still do think its worth the money though! The characters are great, the game isn't stressful, and the dev was quick to fix bugs. I think he deserves the support
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game does not work on steam deck. I’ve tried handheld and I’ve tried it while docked. Four times two separate days, uninstalled and reinstalled. When pausing or simply trying to open your bag it kicks you instantly right out. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →❗️ Update (August 20th): Unfortunately the latest update wiped multiple people' save file including mine (tried every troubleshootings I could find). This is a major issue, not "some bug". The Discord invite isn't working as I'm writing this; and no way to contact the dev, which is sketchy, so no possibility to get any help. I haven't played much yet, fortunately, but no time to replay the same stuff worrying it may happen again; and with no guarantee it won't happen again for upcoming…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →what drew me in was the cute pixel art, it gave me that nostalgic harvest moon ds feel. its a cute, simple, charming game even tho there isn't much to it in terms of gameplay. i play this on steam deck and one thing i did not automatically like was that - u cannot use the trackpad to navigate and select things. it is currently only controller based but hopefully that changes. another thing was - ur character cannot move diagonally. this makes the movement kind of feel clunky or delayed for me.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can get married to a cute witch. This should be more common in games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun farming sim that reminds me of Half-Minute Heroes. The rapid pace of the days makes it oddly compelling.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Firefly Village delivers exactly what's promised - a cozy farm sim experience that can be played in small doses, without busy work or task deadlines. The characters are all charming in their own way, and the festival events are super cute! With the relationship developments, I appreciate that there's a clear distinction between friends, best friends, and the next step(s) after that. I'm in Summer 1 of my second year after playing the demo dozens of times, and I've already gotten way more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No clue how to start this one, so let me just go over some stuff I have noticed in my 18 minutes of playtime. It feels similar to other games in this genre from the artstyle (looks a lot like Fields of Mistria, even the witchy character in this game seems to be heavily inspired by Juniper from FoM, both personality & sprite wise) Sadly, I have never felt so lost in a game because simply there really is nothing to do except; collect stuff, sell, buy seeds or animals -> repeat. From the few…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is really cute and quaint! A pretty smooth and bug free experience, you can really just zone out and do some cozy farming and gathering.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is exactly what it says it is "bite-sized", super simple, and straightforward. the map is tiny and there are only 6 villagers! but as someone with thousands of hours in farm sims/cozy games, i actually found it very relaxing and fun. everything is simplified, every item has a set slot after you buy it, and there’s no time management or stamina stress. personally, i enjoyed it a lot, especially on the steam deck <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I adore this game! It works so well as a game to play directly before bed, after a long day, or while listening to a podcast. For the times I don't want to optimize, min max, or think too hard. I like that it auto selects the tool based on context (like Wyldeflowers) and just interacting with the animals also collects their produce. I tried a demo or early version and then put it down, and recently came back to it and was pleasantly surprised by the updates. The stacking items is very nice! I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its fun, but short
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →kinda like if sdv and fields of mistria had a fetal alcohol syndrome baby
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very nice, relaxing game! Although I do wish there was more character development and an overarching storyline, I won't gripe on that too much since this is a solo dev project. You can tell that the dev put a lot of love and hard work into the game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Firefly Village is a small, gentle farming and life simulator that embraces simplicity as its guiding principle. Developed by Josh Koenig Games and published by indie.io and LevelUp Games, it is designed as a compact, approachable alternative to the sprawling, system-heavy farming sims that dominate the genre. Rather than overwhelming the player with dozens of mechanics, large towns, and complicated crafting trees, Firefly Village trims the experience down to its fundamentals: plant crops, care…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starting off, I played and finished the game after the movement update and the inventory stacking update (game changer btw I'm so glad the Dev added it). This game is VERY minimalistic and straight to the point-ish, nothing takes too long, nothing is challenging, it is very simple and it's what i love about it. Once i got a routine down I got to do everything in a day (mining, fishing, foraging and frendship building((Highly encourage you to change day lengh to relaxed in the settings))). But…

unlabelledView post →Cute little game. small area to visit everyone. So no time management issues like other farming games. Daytime is enough to get things done like watering crops, mining, fishing, talking
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fast based, addictive farming simulator that has me wanting more! It is not easy to find both a fast paced and relaxing game and Firefly Village is a perfect mix of both. Not to mention the charming art style and smooth game play. A game that will make you appreciate the rainy days, I hope there is more to come!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's been a nice little time. The controls feel clunky but it was nice to just turn my brain off and do simple tasks. I swapped to a controller and it felt a little better, I just really really wish we could move diagonally, it's kind of driving me nuts. The simplicity is refreshing but it almost feels *too* simple sometimes. I'm definitely going to keep playing it and enjoying it, for this price point I think you should try it if you know you like these kinds of games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the game. How do you save lumber ans stone to upgrade my house. Thank you,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun and engaging game so far, the only complaint I have is that the cow voice-over work is shallow and pedantic. What was the dev THINKING??
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The dev's not kidding about this being bite-sized. I was able to play through a whole year + marry Meadow + see most of the content (the rest was just completionist stuff) in just under 3 hours. It's fun though, and I'd definitely recommend it. It's a Harvest Moon/Stardew-like, the joy is in the routines and optimization of trying to scale up your income as fast as possible, and Firefly Village definitely provides that. The art is great and a lot of the tedium of the genre is removed.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The pitch as a "bitesized" Stardew is apt. This is something I took two slow afternoons with, and it's a great game to play with a 2nd screen going. The farming, fishing, foraging, mining, and relationship mechanics are all stripped down to be as simple as possible while remaining interesting and engaging. I've seen complaints that there is no mouse support, only keyboard. While initially annoying, the interface is tight, simple, and fast enough to not feel like I'm missing it. Probably…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a cute little game and simple to play. However, it's quite short. I hope there will be more updates and have more things to do in the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Started playing Firefly Village this morning and completely lost track of time. Super cozy, relaxing, and surprisingly addictive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like Firefly Village, I've been on the hunt for a new farming-esq game and this one checks a lot of boxes. At first I was worried it would be too simple, I mean 4 minute days sounded a bit too rushed. But after playing through a whole year + extra spring season, I can see how its done. And I never once felt the need to change the day length to make them longer. And in fact all of spring I actually went to bed early (5:30ish) because I had accomplished everything I could do, other than…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Small but fun game. 1st game that didn't ask me to kill mobs in mine, I was getting hugs instead! Easy to unlock all achievements. Easy to guess what NPCs like. Not as complicated as other games I played, but definitely worth checking out. Thank You solo Developer for lovely game. 1st one in years that actually doesn't feel like grinding.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →⭐ Recommended Firefly Village is one of those rare indie gems that feels like a warm cup of tea Firefly Village is the kind of game you boot up after a long day just to unwind. It’s a bite-sized farming sim made by a solo dev, and it nails the “cozy but not overwhelming” vibe perfectly. You plant, you harvest, you tinker with your little village, and that’s about it—but that’s the beauty of it. No stress, no endless grind, just a relaxing loop that feels rewarding without eating your whole…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game. It's cute and really scratches that itch for the repetitive tasks of farming, mining, and fishing without having to bother with quests or really talking to people. Though, the characters are cute and the events are nice. This is great for super casual gaming like when winding down before bed without getting too deep into something.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super cute and super simple to play. Definitely unique among cozy farm sims that I've played. It's not overwhelming at all. Very well done! Looking forward to possibly some more content in the game, if the developer is up for it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is the simplest one I've played that I want to go back to, because it's so cozy. Definitely a go-to cozy game if you want something easy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a lot of fun. It perfects the essence of what makes a farming sim great in an approachable format that's easy to pick up and put down. Just beware that if you play toooooo long it might crash on you, so take healthy breaks, as much as you may not want to!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It;s cute, simple, entertaining and super relaxing. I recommend if you like super simple slow games. 9/10 overall.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game specifically because it is a bite-sized farming sim, and it is exactly what it claims to be. The creator built it so players can complete every activity in a game day if they want instead of picking and choosing. I love that. It's not complex but it's not meant to be. When I have maybe 30 minutes to play, this is one I go to.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is essentially a very chill, simplified farming game. While some people who enjoy a more sandbox kind of game may not enjoy this, This game is super chill and definitely beginner friendly and will not overwhelm people. i would say this game might be kids-friendly too since it has limited amount of tasks that allow people to get used to some of the routines in game first. The art and music i lovely.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is charming in its simplicity. It's light, fun, and easy to pick up. It is a farm/life sim stripped to its core. If you like this genre, and are looking for something that's actually casual, this fits the bill. The lack of mouse control might seem weird at first, but this game does not need it. WASD and Enter, or arrow keys and spacebar are enough.. The graphics are cute, and the gameplay feels balanced. Recommended if you want something pressure-free and relaxing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really great, fun, relaxing game. Nothing seems lacking, just good fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Things I love about this game: It is ultra cozy. And I really like that it is "snack size." Meaning I can still play for long amounts of time (because snacks can last hours if you want them to), but I never feel overwhelmed by the game's progression. The days are short, but right away, you are told that you can go into settings to lengthen them. The map is smaller to fit this shorter day. Most of these cozy games I enjoy also have some form of combat, but I greatly love that this one is not one…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're looking for a laid back micro farming sim this is the game for you. There's not energy bar, no health to worry about. You can play as much or as little as you want for each day and sleep anytime. I had fun working to get all the achievements!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a cute and fun game...but you can get bored very fast because there isnt much to do...even for a short game there should be more of a story..more things to keep people entertained..and because of this issue i feel the price point is way to much...there are only two farm animals you can get,,can only adopt a dog....i mean this game could be awesome...but really still needs tons of work. I only recomeding for the cutness not the game play of this game for that is very bad
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →absolutely love this game! its a super cozy game and i like having a routine i do each day. i do hope that the game expands a bit more. maybe having a collection log you have to complete with the different items or needing to save the village animals/gods/faeries/etc. a goal to work towards so that play time doesnt get too similar and boring
