Now years later I've come back to it and the bugs have somehow got worse. I'm at a point in the game where the only thing customers want is Damascus. That wouldnt be a problem if making damascus wasnt bugged so bad that you have a 100% chance of failing it. That coupled with the fact that almost nothing is explained in game so you're really just guessing at what needs to be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy mess that was abandoned. Models don't load the actual feel of the game is of a alpha I should have passed when I had the chance.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Half-finished, abandoned game. Don't bother. Plus the developer broke the Damascus plating process with the last update 6 months ago due to some problem with VSync (if you get that bug just turn VSync off), but hasn't even mentioned anything since, let alone fixed it, despite being asked multiple times. It doesn't take 6 months to fix a tiny bug like that, even for an indie developer. He hasn't even posted in the forums in 6 months to say he's working on it. Check out Medieval Blacksmith…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandonware. unfinished buggy s****y product undeserving of your hard earned dolans. spend them elsewhere and do not waste a cent on this trash heap. the devs couldnt be bothered to fix this buggy mess and its just left here to rot. and dont even get me STARTED on that stupid dlc....cash grab junk that should have released with base game. (and still should.....since the rotten bas***ds ran off and dont give a sh1t about the customers) I only own this crap because it was on sale and i was…

Furnace: Spits the ingot halfway across the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ room every time I try Game: Okay now put it on the anvil an start ham-WELP THE INGOT IS TOO COLD NOW BACK TO THE FURNACE Furnace: Spits the ingot UPSTAIRS SOMEHOW Game: Oh hey when you're done you have to temper-OOP TOO COLD PUT IT IN THE FURNACE Furnace: Syke that sword is longer than my opening is tall, and you can't rotate your hand to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is pretty glitchy, there are many ways to soft lock yourself out of being able to interact with the game. Also there is alot of motion blur that CAN NOT be turned down or off so if you have motion sensitivity this is NOT the game for you. Game feels extremely unfinished even more unfinished than a beta. I have been holding out hope for this game for 2 years that we may see a patch or update to fix the problems but that seems highly unlikely. Best bet with this game is to save your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’ve played Fantasy Blacksmith quite a bit, and despite its flaws, it’s one of the best blacksmithing games I’ve ever found. The furnace heat, the hammering, the gradual mastery — it’s really soothing. The materials and enchantments are super satisfying. Learning how to make Damascus steel, mixing the right alchemical/chemical mixtures — once you figure them out, making a near-perfect magic sword feels genuinely rewarding. And there’s enough variation (materials like bronze, iron, mithril,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really awesome. I love it. But it does have its flaws. I'm a blacksmith that cannot blacksmith anymore so this came pretty natural to me for the most part. There is a learning curve to the game and that can be off putting to some but when you get it figured out it is amazing. I love the challenge. Plus if you mess up a little bit it can effect your swords just like in real life. There are non realistic aspects to this game and it could use a save button so you can save whenever you…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game feels like it should be in early access, not a full release. It is buggy and some mechanics require further work. For instance mining. Even with maxed out luck and mining skills, it is still extremely slow and tedious. When you are in the endgame and just want to make swords, there shouldn't be so much grind. I don't think that game is worth it at full price because for that amount of money you can get better and more importantly finished games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is too buggy, unpolished, and parts of it broken entirely. No word from developer for 6 months+ after bugs are reported and acknowledged. Spend your money elsewhere on something less buggy and frustrating. That elsewhere should not be on the "sequel," since this game was abandoned before being finished. Why trust the next one?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll put it bluntly; the game's a buggy mess, even when it's working properly. Items constantly despawning or clipping out of the map, interactions requiring you to exit to the main menu to get them working, and texturing issues are *everywhere.* However, if you can get past that, there's a good game here with a lot of complex and intricate systems to be taken advantage of. Overall, I recommend, just be ready to deal with the bugs since the devs haven't updated in more than a year. Edit As of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gave it a fair shake, but too buggy to continue. I WISH it was more refined, as I love the concept, but I just can't recommend the game in its current state. A DLC before bug fixes and mechanical improvements feels very cashgrabby, and I really wanted to love this game as an underappreciated gem, but sadly it just falls too short to be truly enjoyable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Damascus is broken and falls through the sword when adding the second layer. This makes one mechanic broken and ruins the experence. this wasnt broken when i first bought the game. Idk what happened but i wouldnt play this if i got upset that things didnt work right.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I always played this game to relax but unfortunately it's quite buggy and partially unplayable so I don't recommend it yet.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so slow and so boring. If you like to watch paint dry this game might be for you. Takes forever to make anything and then it takes an eternity for a customer to come along to buy anything and most of the time they aren't actually interested in anything you can make. It's very easy to screw up because of clunky controls too.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels like an amateur project which somehow escaped from an amateur game dev forum and was never completed, encountered dozens of bugs or weird design decisions (at this level it is hard to tell). Doesn't even reach the level of janky. Not worth the money or time. Odd this is for sale on steam at all (And that humble choice once decided to include a key for it, which is how I got it).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is an absolute buggy mess , clunky controls, the music choice is all over the place, hammer hitbox is god awful, and the game feels unfinished and is abandoned if you want a better game just play Medieval Blacksmith
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Asking for a decent blacksmithing game is too much I guess - this game seems unfinished and becomes dull after a few hours.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too much of a buggy mess to enjoy. I frequently lose swords and material from items clipping through each other or through walls.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not Recommended
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let's be real, I only got that game because of Let's Game It Out. No regrets.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I though it was an early access game, but it isn't. It is full of bugs. Tutorial is confusing. Menus are awful. Controls are ackward. Stay away.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I used to love playing this game, deciding to try and pick it back up after a while to see if it had improved, i was sadly mistaken. Physics bugs flinging swords out of the kiln when you try to place them inside for reheating and hammer hits going where they please as opposed to where you're striking, its too frustrating to continue play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to recommend this game but I just can't. I don't mind the UI design, I don't mind the simple visuals, I don't mind the fact that I can't jump. But It's a pain to align yourself with objects/items in order to interact with them. If you're not sitting in & aiming at the right place to add a blade or ingot in the furnace, it'll fly all around the room when laying it down. I tried, I wanted to like this game since it's a very cool concept. But the execution is something that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →**This is not a final review** This is a niche game. Art A medieval fantasy realistic style; the customer's profile picture is anime-ish. The graphic is neither good nor bad; this game is dark, making it hard to see properly. Sword designs are completely fantasy, so don't expect to forge historically leaning swords. Gameplay Good gameplay loop: heat metal, hit metal, cool metal, sharpen metal, attach metal to the guard, etc. It just feels good to do. However, as a new player, I find it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →GAME IS UNPLAYEBLE ,I remeber this game use to be fun but after long time coming back to it is so lagi and glitchi also no updates for a long time .
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not polished, it is buggy and flawed, but it is one of the most satisfying games I have ever played. The issues are fairly blatant and obvious when they decide to show themselves, and can even be fairly frustrating. Despite these problems, and despite the many blacksmithing games out there, this is still the one that elicits the most enjoyment. The gameplay loop is solid, and motivates the player to find ways to increase profits and become more self sufficient while slowly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the kinda thing I would expect to see at a game jam and not a $15 game released on steam claiming to be a full fledged product. Its incredibly buggy, boring and lacks any sort of polish. This should be priced at an ABSOLUTE maximum of $5 and the only reason it should even HAVE a price would be if it was to fund the ACTUAL making of the game. not this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a real blacksmith this game is so far removed from blacksmithing and is incredibly unrealistic As a gamer this game is very silly and a solid banger 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love to hit hard things :3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like this game, but I want crafting other weapons and items, not only swords.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game years ago and it was pretty barebones back then. I recently reinstalled it and it is still incredibly barebones. Not only that, but either I've forgotten how it works or Damascus forging was changed. I checked a video in a recent guide on how to do it, but even following that video almost exactly, it didn't work. Damascus is not a huge deal since it's not required at lower levels and I could relearn as I progress, but every single time a customer knocked on the door, none…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished the game. Amazing idea with a fairly smooth execution, so many forging features and a lot to discover, my only true complaint is that it isn't longer. Each of the design features did have their quirks, a few items disappeared and it was hard to learn, but once you fail once or twice at a particular part, it's very easy to learn it and make the process insanely efficient. Hoping this game gets new content soon!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is unplayable now, the furnace keeps kicking everything out of it. I stared a new game reset all defaults as well and still furnace keep kicking unfinished sword out.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It could be relaxing game, but ... abandoned with bugs. It's playable and doesnt crash, but there is some annoying bugs and UI/interactions could be more friendly/polished.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →wont even get past the tutorial with out glitching
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not a strong 'NO', but it's too buggy to really recommend it. Swords you spent careful time forging end up falling through objects, quirky physics, strange design choices, and a rather boring environment make this a hard game to recommend. Editing my review to simplify it and to add another big problem I discovered: Turning on V-Sync in settings makes it so that damascus plating and cauldron do not work. Damascus plates fall through each other and fail ; cauldron does not register…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →would have been a great game, except for the massive amount of issues preventing me from even creating my first blade, every time i purchase a new part, for some reason it spawns in some off the map area, and is completely inaccessible
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the concept so much you can't even imagine but it is full of bugs and lacks essential quality of life elements; such a waste of potential... I wanted to like this game but just couldn't bring myself to do it in the end
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has been said multiple times. The core gameplay loop is really really really bugged. Although the premise is cool, the execution is lacking (big time). It's 2024. There are some standards to interfaces, to gameplay elements. Following an unreal tutorial and you could make this game 20 times better in less time than this was in developement.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have finished one sword, and i must admit i am not a fan of this. To grindy, too buggy, and takes too long time to progress in anyway.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I usually love these types of games. But this ones just terrible.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game, cant sex the anvil
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot recommend Fantasy Blacksmith. While the concept is incredibly intriguing and brimming with potential, the execution is utterly disastrous, making the game virtually unplayable. To begin with, the controls are atrocious. Whether you're trying to handle tools, place items, or interact with the environment, everything feels clunky and unresponsive. The game demands precision in tasks that the controls simply do not allow, leading to immense frustration. A prime example of this is the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is insanely mid. The ideas are all there but the execution is clunky and insanely buggy. Theres just an overall lack of polish with most of the game especially when it comes to things like storage. Instead of just giving you an inventory and some chests or something the game has everything always existing in the game world. While this can be fun as you go around fetching various things that you need overall it just serves to make the game more clunky. Especially when theres no easy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gave it another shot after abandoning it for years. The game sucks ass. Glitchy, buggy, a typical concoction of almost every modern indie/small dev game. If they release buggy you can probably not expect them to ever be fixed. Thankfully I got this through Humble Bundle and the month I got it wasn't bad so the game was basically free.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →quite possibly the most immersive blacksmithing experience. its relaxing and gives you that "you are the blacksmith" feeling that you don't get from other games. would love to see the game receive new updates and get polished, maybe even come to VR for the full immersion, but absolutely enjoying having to go through the actual motions of crafting a sword and not just clicking a button telling the game to craft it for me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This used to be quite the fun little game, but sadly the last update broke quite a few parts of the game and it is now almost impossible to really enjoy. Maybe one day it will get revived? But I would not get your hopes up.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Strongly recommend to avoid. The core mechanic of the game (placing something in a forge) is fickle as hell. The object bounces out randomly far more often than it stays in the forge. It's also an insane resource hog on your system. I have never heard my fans get so loud as while playing this game despite playing games that should be way more resource intensive.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game ruined my life by taking my expensive sword away and then added a button to find it years later and made me disassociate
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has a lot of potential and is a fun mining/crafting game, unfortunately any enjoyment you might get out of it is overshadowed by terrible control and physics glitches. Picking up or dropping items has a frustratingly high chance of that item either flying behind and object becoming irretrievable, or falling through the ground and disappearing or getting stuck and again, irretrievable. Items put in the cauldron will commonly fail to work as well, once again effectively losing an…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Comedy physics game pretending to be a cool blacksmith sim. Trying to swing your hammer at a blade on the anvil and missing, clipping through it or somehow forging the wrong part on the backswing (?!) is just so, so discouraging. It's a shame because it has potential. Measuring temperatures, sketching the blade shape, doing weird damascus chemistry, rune drawing - all cool. And all restrained by being in a buggy, unresponsive 3D space. Maybe some day Fantasy Blacksmith 2D will come out but…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, i tried to like this one but its a buggy mess, the contorls and UI are horrible, it doesnt teach you how to use your tools and the mechanic its literally boasting on is horrible, The fact that you cant continue grinding and grind more is absolutely dumb, it doesnt make sense. I was extremely dissappointed but then again i did drop this game when i bought it. This game needs alot of work and i dont see it being worked one at all, there havent been updates in years, dont waste your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Somehow, after only 27 minutes of gameplay, I'm unable to progress in my save as my sword is no longer the shape of the ingot and therefore WILL NOT GO BACK ON THE ANVIL. Ok, so I can't continue this save, good thing nothing saved! Couldn't continue it if I wanted to. The FORCED motion blur, which you cannot disable even if you wanted to as there is nothing in the settings to disable it, is making me so sick, I genuinely can't play this game for long.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself is pretty ok, just really stale and confusing. Its pretty much the same over andd over again. I cant recommend it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are aspects about this game that can be a bit of a challenge. The Damascus setup can be difficult. But I loved having an idea and just going for it. It was fun to just make cool swords that had awesome effects connected to them. I did a ton of mining as well, so my lower mining area is very cleared out. HAHA.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Needs to fix bug with melting plates on sword.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →blacksmithing good yes yes
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →that when i make a almost fully made sword it top to bottom so when i put it on the anvil it sust falls of or glitch in and sent off. i would it to be side ways insted and copper not the same collour as the floor and a manul save option pls. TY
