It suddenly starts stuttering, lagging and a plethora of bugs appear that weren't there before. Also as a sorry excuse for difficulty you get swarmed with the most tanky enemies as well as ranged attack spam. It goes from fun combat and comboing your way through encounters to dodge until your gadgets are ready so you can get some damage in. It's just garbage. It started off so good, i have no idea why…

It combines elements of Devil May Cry 5, God of War (2018 and Ragnarok), and Vanquish. The controls are generally snappy and responsive, even in chaotic situations, and the way the combat loop blends gunplay with melee feels…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →30. Evil West This game is incredible if you just want some big dumb fun, a deliciously over the top experience where you play as a cowboy vampire hunter in an exceedingly silly sci-fi Western setting, and it never lets something like "making sense" get in the way of doing something cool.
unlabelledView post →I really wanted to enjoy Evil West. The game absolutely has some positives going for it: gorgeous visuals, solid voice acting (albeit delightfully cheesy), and punchy, satisfying combat right out of the gate. Unfortunately, by the campaign's halfway point, the technical issues and lazy difficulty scaling completely ruin the experience. On the technical side, this is an Unreal Engine stutter-fest. Even on maximum settings, the game suffers from aggressive asset pop-in. By the time I reached the…

unlabelledView post →Evil West is not a bad game, but it is far from the masterpiece many people claim it to be. The combat is fun at first. The combos feel satisfying, and the idea of mixing cowboys with supernatural enemies like vampires is interesting. However, the gameplay becomes repetitive very quickly. After a few hours, you start realizing that the combat loop does not evolve enough to stay engaging. Graphically, the game looks good on the surface, but it is extremely demanding for what it delivers.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First off, big thanks to 💖Scummy Christ💖 for gifting me this awesome game. It kind of feels like a mix of The Order: 1886 and God of War. I played it on and off for a few months—didn’t really get it at first, but once it clicked later on, it actually felt pretty satisfying, and I finished it in about a week. The biggest strength here is the clean, punchy combat. The impact feels great, although that’s not everything in an action game—there’s still room for improvement in the animation…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story and character design are good. But in general, the gameplay... is quite average. Performance is poor on the AMD Platform for this game. The whole game runs on my CPU. It took approximately 17 hours to finish this game, and throughout the entire duration, my GPU usage ranged from 15 to 20%, while the CPU usage stayed between 60 to 65%. And FPS is inconsistent altogether, lots of micro stutter, sometimes 200, sometimes 50 FPS. The overall gameplay experience is truly awful. But…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Evil West is if Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter & God of War (2016) had a lovechild who came out on Xbox 360 This is B-Movie: The Game. Camp, bloody, fun, and simple. This game does not do anything incredible, new, or insane, however, what it does do, is good. Nothing to ride home about. Short ass game. I beat it in about 8.5 hours, but if you took your time, maybe 11-13 hrs. While I like the game, the time alone is reason enough to never buy it full price at 50$. There is not enough…

"gioco del cestone di gamestop preso a 5euro". the story is basically non existent barely a context for what is happening and i didn't even skip the cutscenes even if didn't really changed that much... the gameplay is the interesting part more than i imagined, you use your guantlet most of the time so the combat become something souls/action like?? and you have your 2 ranged options a bolt-action rifle and…

unlabelledView post →Mostly just AA style bombastic FPS campaigns. The 10 to 12 hour all killer no filler type stuff with interesting premises, huge set pieces, well realized characters. Stuff like Evil West or the most recent Wolfenstein games come close to scratching that itch. Though EW is a third person game.

unlabelledView post →This game honestly does not deserve the mixed reviews. Aside from some performance issues I really had no problems with it. You play as a cowboy and you kill vampires. The combat is similar to God Of War (2018) but you have tons of weapons to mix and match with. The story, the cutscenes, the dialogues and the characters were all pretty good in my opinion. It's not a life altering experience by any means but it is enjoyable. The game also doesn't overstay its welcome, it's around 10-15h if you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If the Game was like the first half all the way through then this would be a for sure buy. The Second half of the game and the last couple levels are so buggy that it took me a min just to get past them without enemies glitching. It's like they tested the first part of the game then ran out of time. The layout of the later levels are also the worse in the game. You go from what is a arena fighter with cool back grounds to levels that look like they ran out of time and had to put something…

unlabelledView post →Evil West is a pure, old-school action game that knows exactly what it wants to be—and fully commits to it. 🧛♂️⚡ You play as a vampire hunter armed with guns, gadgets, and a brutally satisfying electric gauntlet. Combat is the real star here: fast, aggressive, and incredibly fun. Every punch, shot, and finisher feels powerful, and the game constantly pushes you to stay on the offensive instead of hiding behind cover. The Wild West + supernatural setting is stylish and unique, giving the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If there was a "Meh" category on Steam reviews, I would put that. It might be good in single player, but I wouldn't recommend in multiplayer. Pros: - Unique storyline - "Cowboy Blade" - Challenging fights in the last difficulty - Some cool weapons Cons: - A ridiculous amount of bugs in coop which honestly reduced my enjoyment of the game. - Bad level design - it's singular track, which would be fine, but they sometimes make incredibly awful decisions. You can jump over this small…

unlabelledView post →I didn’t buy Evil West outright - it came bundled through Humble Bundle, but I ended up having a surprisingly good time with it. I clocked just under 20 hours and beat it on the hardest difficulty, so I can confidently say I’ve seen all the game’s highs… and the lows. The good stuff: The combat is fun and satisfying. You get a bunch of weapons and perks as you go, and mixing them up keeps fights from feeling too samey. There is some variety with builds but nothing too diverse. The world looks…

unlabelledView post →I dunno, I'm fine with it. It's a AAA game with no microtransactions or any other kinda bullshit, and it's a damn good game, so that's awesome. Not every game needs to be a 30-40 hour experience, and like... last year, Evil West was one of my faves and that was like... 15ish hours long? T'was great

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the most average games I have ever played. I had almost no interest in the story or any of the characters, with the narrative being quite run of the mill and predictable. The enemy variety was mediocre, seeing the same enemies throughout the entire game, including the re-use of bosses. I encountered a remarkable amount of bugs and if you’re playing co-op there is an absurd number of hidden loading screens which becomes increasingly annoying waiting for both players to be standing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game, but it falls flat in too many aspects to be enjoyable. So, let's make this quick: Pro: - Visuals The map design looks good, enemies are distinct, good gore/dismemberment options. Background elements were usually well designed and lit. Building placement didn't make all that much sense though. - Worldbuilding I enjoyed the depiction of Vampire society and bestiary entries. The many NPCs that had dialog improved the atmosphere greatly. Con: - Combat This…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am a good chunk of the way through my first playthrough, and I'll update this review if anything comes up. Here's what we got so far: - Excellent variety in your arsenal, and the game does a great job giving you new weapons just as you've gotten the hang of the previous ones. Fighting in this game feels a bit like DOOM Eternal, in the sense that you have lots of weapons with their own cooldowns, and you sprinkle them all into the fight for optimal damage. I don't think there are as many, or…

Pros: -The combat is fun -The variety of upgrades was really good and the weapons were fun -The different areas were interesting -There was a decent variety of enemies -The voice acting was very good Cons: -The story felt like a nothing burger. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EVIL WEST This game is a great surprise for me, even as a AA title it’s incredibly solid, fun, and packed with style. The game offers a satisfying progression system with plenty of upgrades, talents, and abilities that keep the combat fresh from start to finish. You can mix melee attacks, firearms, electric abilities, and different combos in a way that feels fluid and powerful. Every encounter is fun…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →becomes boring and repetitive quick. bullet sponge enemies, same enemy types and minibosses recycled through the whole game which is lazy for a 10 hour linear game. a lot of time spent in uninteresting cutscenes and animations for climbing and squeezing through walls. input can feel delayed and unresponsive yet demands quick weapon swaps and combos. had to restart game on many occasions due to getting stuck in terrain unable to move. game runs well though, steady 200+ fps on max settings,…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is like a bottle of water in a dry desert. It harkens back to the old school games of the ps2 to early ps3 era where not everything needed be designed by committe for maximum market share. It is a combo of god of war and red dead redemption with plenty of combos and and tools to keep combat fresh and exciting. On higher difficulties the fights can get pretty hectic but learning how best to manage your resources feels just like the old days. Personally i cant recomend enough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Started up Evil West which is basically a PS3 game in a PS5 skin so I f’n love it. The main guy’s design (left) is pretty dull compared to his partner tho.
unlabelledView post →A compelling story. Exceptional combat for a shooter. If you’d like to play DOOM in a Western setting, this is a fantastic choice. The enemies are diverse; when you take down a tough foe, you might encounter them again later—even after you’ve grown stronger—but this time they won't be alone. I really enjoyed the way the enemies were mixed and arranged in the encounters.

I brought it while it was very cheap on sale, so it's not like i had a lot to lose or expectations. I didn't care too much about the story, but i'm sure a lot of people would have appreciated it. Obviously you're playing this game for its combat and i tell you what, this game absolutely nails it. Sadly, there wasn't enough of it and i didn't like how they reused mini bosses SO MUCH.. Would have made a…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is okayish, like it's not terrible but its very forgettable. The combat is the best part of the game, so much so that it pretty much covers up every other problems with the game. It's a fun beat-em-up with some gun play, the cooldowns are very hectic but a good game regardless. I would say that it is worth it to get it on a sale. Its fun, chaotic and goofy. 7/10!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You’re usually thrown into waves of enemies, yet many of the combo skills are built for one-on-one fights. It feels like the developers tried to make the game harder this way, but the approach just comes off as strange and mismatched. There isn’t one standout feature that really sets it apart (it’s fairly similar to other games in the same genre) but it’s still enjoyable overall. Edited: I have just realized that the game was also designed for the co-op; that explains a lot about what I've…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the very underrated AA game. This game fullfills a fantasy of cowboys fighting vampires. You can certainly go wild. It has a good story and gorgeous locations and backdrop. It has arcady design to missions. Combat can be repetative , but certainly gets better once you get all the weapons and upgrade them. The mobs are annoying but the bosses and mini bosses fights are bit like soulslike. Some minor bugs but other than that it was a good experience. Do get it on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After finishing my first playthrough, I can say that Evil West has something special that really pushes you to keep going. The story isn’t particularly strong, but it’s entertaining enough and does its job without getting in the way. The real highlight of the game is the combat system — it’s smooth, satisfying, and very fun. The fights feel impactful, and the progression and abilities keep combat engaging from start to finish. The game is relatively short, which actually works in its favor.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Evil West is an underrated gem that deserves way more love. Vampires and werewolves set in a brutal Wild West version of the US is an instantly intriguing concept, and the game fully commits to it. The cinematics are solid, the dialogues are fun, and the atmosphere keeps things engaging throughout. This is a focused, no nonsense action game. Tight combat, satisfying progression, and a clear story, no bloated open worlds and no filler. Just pure fun at a very fair price. For old school gamers…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Evil West is... adequate? I wouldn't say is a flawed game but I do understand the mixed reactions. Graphics are great but the characters feel really rough around the edges. The gameplay does break my immersion sometimes, especially since the main protagonist can't 'jump'' and you awkwardly have to interact with the environment to perform actions. You just have to realise that you can't treat his movement like other FPS shooters and you'll enjoy it a bit more. Gameplay is fun and level design…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has an Xbox 360 feel, action beatem up, a cheesy/sci-fi B movie plot and characters. With euro-jank and fun combat. Coop is buggy but really fun playing with my brother. I actually enjoy games where its just fun. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Random Game of the Day Day 80 - Evil West Finished this game recently and it was pretty fun all things considered.
