Pipistrello, Enigma of Fear, Asylum, Mullet Madjack, and I'm looking forward to Tenebris Somnia, the new Tormented Souls, and new game from the Unsighted devs.

If you've not heard of Enigma of Fear, it's a neat Survival Horror game based on a popular Brazilian tabletop roleplaying game and there's a dog.
unlabelledView post →Was trying to think of the name of a Brazilian horror game on stream last night, where you have a dog companion, but it completely slipped my mind. It was Enigma of Fear!
unlabelledView post →For those wondering, this game comes from an RPG world created by Brazilian streamer Cellbit. Even though it has an 'Overwhelmingly Positive' review status, don't be fooled - most reviews are from his fanbase, so they're biased and don't accurately reflect the game's quality. The game was crowdfunded on Catarse, starting in October 2020, raising over R$4.2 million (about $1 million back then) with a promised release by July 2022. It was delayed for 2 and a half years, and backers like me who…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →25. Enigma of Fear This is another game I really must revisit, because from what I played it was a super neat isometric Survival Horror game based on I believe a hugely popular Brazilian TTRPG, and there's a very good dog in it who you can pet to restore sanity.

I wont be playing the demo because I've already watched ranboo play it, and I don't really like playing demos unless I'm really into like monster hunter- - but no more than likely-
unlabelledView post →Overall I really enjoyed this game, apart from a few things. Most of the puzzles feel really well crafted and exist believably in the world, some however only make sense in the context of this being a puzzle game. There are some bigger puzzles spanning multiple of the main areas of the game, which makes the world feel real and gives you the feeling of really figuring the world out. Speaking of figuring it out: The story begins by giving you a load of questions but over the course of the…

unlabelledView post →I didn’t participate in the Catarse crowdfunding, so I can’t comment on the communication between the developers and backers. However, when I saw the game being delayed several times, I took it as a good sign. My favorite game, OMORI, was delayed countless times, originally planned for release in 2015, but only launching in 2019, and let’s not even mention Silksong. Personally I saw it as the developers taking their time to make a great game... How innocent. Then, out of nowhere, we got a…

Along with her allies: Samuel and Agatha, Mia must explore an area known as the Perimeter to find him. During her search, she discovers what happened to the team her father brought with him 20 years earlier and the Cult of Fear that they were researching. From a technical pov, the game is set in the world of “Paranormal Order” – a paper RPG created by Brazilian streamer Rafael Lange…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are a few good puzzles that were fun to solve. Other than that, I really did not enjoy this game. Most of the puzzles don't fit into the larger story and thus feel contrived. In fact, many of the clues in game are only relevant to any entirely separate ARG-like puzzle that is entirely arbitrary and optional. The combat is largely annoying and is only enjoyable in the few cases where there are puzzle mechanics that let you avoid it. A huge amount of the content in the game is just…

unlabelledView post →I tried to like it, I really, really did: an Obra Dinn-like detective/puzzle game with even a semi-functional survival horror/action element built in? Sounds like my dream game, but this thing is an absolute mess: - Sophomoric writing. If you've ever read juvenile, below-average attempts at anime-style "banter" dialogue, you've read half the lines in this game. There are over 500 side characters other than the actual principal cast and you will not be able to name or even describe any of them…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyed the game for the puzzles and story. Combat is not its main focus. Even the bosses are more of a puzzle base. Took me 20 hours to complete the story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall an enjoyable albeit frustrating experience. Ultimately I am not finishing the game for reasons below, but I enjoyed it. I feel like it requires a walkthrough, since not every puzzle or next step is apparent. Roses: - Soundtrack is great and creepy - Loved the detective mode where I got to keep all my notes on my phone instead of being led from one place to another. - the meta puzzles were cool - Dying wasn't very punishing for a majority of the game - Doggie - Enemy and puzzle…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game its just amazing. Deep investigation aspects, a lot of documents with a such interesting lore and universe. Very creative puzzles, the last few ones are probably the most creative I ever solved in a game. The scenario is just incredible, how the pixel arts fit so good into a 3D world and just gets better with the camera movement, design choices and very good musics. You can see on each detail the love and care of the Devs, and how every part of the scenario means something, all coming…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really loved this game, I'm a "coward chicken" person and I feel like this game is perfectly balanced between when it's scary and when it's not, which allowed me to enjoy everything the game has to offer. All the puzzles are so well thought that when we finally manage to solve them it's the greatest satisfaction of all! We're cooking and we didn't even know it yet. It's all so great and the pieces just fit together as we discover things. It's incredible. Just perfect!

unlabelledView post →Quite honestly one of the best games I've ever played. It's a very unique horror game with some of the coolest boss fights I've ever played and really fun puzzles! Amazing storyline and world building. This got me to go watch Paranormal Order on youtube and get the comic book too. 10/10. I wish it was longer. I wish there was a sequel. I will replay this game over and over because I didn't want it to end.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool ideas but super amateur. -Animations not synced with sound -your run animation is only a few frames so when you run it looks like the game is playing at 10fps -super rough voice acting/dialogue writing -a gigantic cast of all off screen characters your given 0 reason to care about yet forced to comb through their entire life story in notes/photographs/recordings -horrible combat that while isn't the main focus of the game your forced into killing 1-3 monsters every other area -no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh again please Steam give us mixed reviews... This game has some extraordinary well made points and some others disastrously bad. This time I will try to break point by point. Controls: It is okaish except for the combat that is bad, thankfully this game is not combat heavy, interacting with items seems to be a bit broken on controller, I had to use MB+K when examining items to properly check them. Gameplay: The game is 50% open world and 50% linear, at some point it lets you roam free and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the only game I've played that I didn't want to finish, because I was too excited to play it every time I opened it and would miss that. Even without knowing all too much about "Ordem Paranormal" apart from the English episodes, the story was easy to follow and not too confusing. The puzzles were difficult enough to where I could still solve them but felt really smart after finishing each one. I've already recommended this game too so many people it's so good. Play it. Now.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1) If you're a fan of Outer Wilds, I would recommend giving this a try 2) Despite my recommendation and what I said in #1, this game is a hard "maybe". It does plenty right but there are some major wrongs that kind of hurt the entire experience. 3) spoiler free + I personally love the visuals + Overall great puzzles with some excellent "AH-HA!" moments + Solid characters + It's fun to play as the dog + Game doesn't hold your hand + Runs great + No moon-logic puzzles ++ Music is superb ++…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ugh, hard to recommend but It's worth a play. It features an interesting world and great brain teasers. Unfortunately as the game goes on some puzzles go into moon logic territory. But the first two thirds of the game are great as you piece together bit by bit a semblance of a clue of what the hell is going on in the perimeter. The English voice acting for the main character and her sidekicks is kinda... bad... at times, but it is serviceable. Verity and Jaser's actors sure do a lot of heavy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gotta give this game an 8/10. I LOVED the puzzles, which were extremely well translated to English. I was able to solve all of them on my own except for one puzzle I had to look up because my hearing is awful. Two things would increase my rating of the game; the ability to skip cutscenes, and better combat. I love split second pixel perfect gameplay when you have pixel perfect controls, but the 2D sprites representing 3D entities made split second aiming extremely difficult, and having a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredible Puzzle Adventure With Light Horror I was only drawn to this game by its beautiful pixelated art style initially. The isometric point of view was a rather rare sight in the horror genre (or at least I haven't experienced this kind of playstyle much). What I didn't expect is that Enigma Of Fear leans heavily into the puzzle part of the survival horror, and that's fine. Not every survival horror game has to be packed with action. Plus, the mystery behind the arching story is really…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The puzzles are decent, but the combat made me almost quit the game. The late game is filled with bosses that are just not fun to fight. And if you fail, you have to sit through a lengthy unskippable cutscene. No idea why this is so highly rated.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whenever I post a new game on my VOD channel sometimes I try to draw my avatar close to the games art style so of course I had to try it for Enigma of Fear as well!! I was pretty proud of it so here's the standalone art itself :D I can't wait to continue this game- #EnigmaofFear #EnigmaDoMedo #Art
unlabelledView post →The game starts out well but gets boring towards the end. Puzzles are sometimes good but most of the time the solutions are weird. Some basic things are missing for me: skip cutscenes, the main character have a diary or something, save game. Too much backtrack for me, some puzzles just easier to brute force than find the hint or solution. I had a lot of crash during the game, not a good sign. I like the graphics and the english voice acting.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Went for the puzzles without expecting much story wise but damn it really surprised me. The puzzles and specially the story flows really well even tho it`s kind of a non linear game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i do not pride myself on being good at combat, i am usually not! my friend, however, is a souls-like player through and through. the boss battles are so frustrating my friend and i had to quit when we were really enjoying the game! combat felt really clunky, most hits didn't land when we played. the story was really interesting for as far as we got. :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →these two lovely Bad art pieces were made on GM by murmurbug. First is a classic Bad, while the other is in regards to Cellbit's new game, Enigma of Fear. unlabelledView post →I loved the game. The vibes were great, it had some amazing twists and presentation that really blew my mind. Only real complaint is that there's two boss fights that don't involve solving puzzles and that rely purely on the fighting mechanics, which... I don't know if it's a me-problem, but I thought it was a pain in the ass when it depended purely on the fight mechanics. Don't get me wrong, I still love it and had a blast, but I felt like giving that critique was important. I'm still…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's... okay. And there's something of an ARG you can puzzle out from the collectibles, if you catch 'em all. This game does spell out how to solve pretty much every problem, but for the most part, you still feel like a genius when you figure it out... because you still have to recognize the hint for what it is. It's not exactly holding your hand. The combat is not good. In theory, you've got the ability to sneak up behind things and stun then execute 'em. In practice, even when I found out…

unlabelledView post →I like detective games and the art style looked interesting, so I gave Enigma of Fear a chance. I played it for a couple hours now and feel the concept has potential, but the game just won't click for me. The controls are clunky and the riddles are sparse and not very satisfying to solve. The monster fights are a pain in the ass - again because of the controls - and so far I don't think the game would suffer if there were no monsters at all. I also had my issues with the (English) voice…

unlabelledView post →Unfortunate. Despite the janky controls, rough voice acting I was really getting into this. Kind of a Secret of Evermore + Resident Evil vibe. Got to the boss fight at the spiral castle and getting running into fatal unity error coming out of the cutscene. Devs said that the bugfix was done last year but I kept getting it trying different suggested work arounds. :( Had to finish the story via youtube but still enjoyed the art style of the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a mystery & puzzle game - I can't recommend this because of a number of annoying/frustrating mechanics that just killed the experience for me. For the (mostly) positives: - The world is beautiful. It's an interesting mix of nicely designed levels and locations with pixelated characters thrown in and nice lighting. The sound design is on point as well. - Puzzles and piecing together larger solutions is satisfying with the exception of one that threw a really poorly designed "solution" that I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a good game! I think this might have been the first game to ever make me cry - the ending is that good. Definitely one you wanna go in blind for, but I had a great time investigating and piecing together the story. At times a little hard to decipher what needs to be done, but overall a really wonderful experience with some good puzzles and amazing story. It utilizes the video game medium really well, and has unexpected mechanics that elevated the story being told. I also really liked that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I waited a long time for this game to come out, I supported the game and I don't regret it. The time it took was worth it. The entire design of the game is beautiful, the puzzles were extremely interesting, the battles, despite being simple, show how the game is more focused on solving the puzzles and discovering the story than on going out and killing, THE BOSS BATTLES were incredible, I loved the mechanics and THE MUSIC throughout the game was incredible and the great ambiance left me…
