positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't age well. Wonder why Driver San Francisco is not on Steam, that game was a blast.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If the game launches shifted to the right on Windows 10/11 and you can't exit or Alt+Tab, here is the fix: 1. Go to the game folder. 2. Right‑click "DriverParallelLines.exe" → Properties. 3. Open the "Compatibility" tab. 4. Enable: "Disable fullscreen optimizations". 5. Apply and start the game. After this the game runs in proper fullscreen, no screen shifting, and you can exit normally.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Way ahead of its time .The first part of the game happening in 1978 and the second one in 2006 is a genius move from the developers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still a great game!!! brings back a lot of memories, wish they could remake or remaster this great game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still a Hidden Gem from the Sixth Gen Era I played Driver: Parallel Lines back in the PS2 days, and I remember it feeling tough—maybe it was the scanlines on my old CRT TV, the clunky PS2 controller, or just me being a clueless kid. Fast forward to today: I fired it up with a few quality-of-life mods and tweaks, and ended up beating the campaign in just two sittings. I didn’t even realize I’d finished it—it felt that short. But short doesn’t mean bad. The missions are all unique and fun,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game mostly hits the spot for people who already have some nostalgia tied to it. If you’ve never played it before and you’re not into retro gaming, then honestly, it’s probably not the best place to start - it just won’t hit the same. To be fair, the game does have its charm. The vibe of New York in 1978 is done really well: the music, the visuals, the whole atmosphere — it really pulls you into that late-70s mood. Around the halfway point, though, there’s a sharp twist and suddenly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is actually a really fun game that reminds me of what games aren't these days - No DLCs - Cheat codes - Cool unlockable items - 4 GB storage space - No weird bugs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The rating for this game back in 2006 was incredibly unfair. The gameplay and driving physics were fantastic and way ahead of its time. The police would chase you if you sped or drove on the wrong side of the road, and if you swapped cars on foot without them seeing you, they’d lose track of you. The 70s setting, with its music and cars, was amazing, and the twist in the story was one of the most memorable ones in my childhood. The on foot experience wasn’t good as GTA, but most of the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →better than GTA V
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Works great on steamdeck after configuring community controller + Downloading the ultra wide mod & the ‘Restore original vehicle camera positions’ This is the underrated Driver game. It answers the age old question of “what if GTA cops got on you for violating traffic laws” and the enemy AI is really well scaled. They’ll remember your person and/or your car depending on what they have seen you do. This is a step up from Driv3r and doesn’t have the same motion sickness issues that Vice City…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nostalgia pur is an absolute gem that continues to impress, even years after its original release. As a fan of classic driving games, I was beyond excited to revisit this thrilling open-world action game, and I can confidently say it exceeded all expectations! From the very start, the game captures your attention with its engaging story, set in the vibrant city of New York, across two different time periods—1978 and 2006. The narrative is captivating, full of twists and turns, and keeps you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can still play this game with a PS5 Controller even though it says it is not supported. Its an older game, but still holds up very well. There is a lot of cars to collect, car customizations, missions, side missions, and places to explore. The story is easy to follow. You can complete the game in 10-14 hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished this gorgeous game, had ton of fun since the last time that i played it on PS2 around 2008-2009... time flies but fun never goes away, such a nice game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of the best racing games on ps2, cool story , great modern and past concept, new york looks good , car physics are amazing for a 2006 game, only think holding it back is the boring shooting and open world , shame they dont make racing games like this and driver sf , now its just big festivals like forza horizaon and the crew, or sims , no more cool and edgy stuff
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →out of the box this actually plays pretty well, but you still should use the fusion fix and music restore mod - 2gb of original music missing in the pc version... i also use the PS2 visual edition mod, which brings some og PS2 graphical features back and the PS2 car camera position mod. steam says the game has no controller support - which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. my xbox con works totally fine. you just need to change the input method within the game menu. it is so sad what ubisoft has become, when you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game, best story I have ever seen!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah, fun a** game if it wouldn't glitch and crash all the time unexpectedly when going from sequence to sequence. And any time you try to go back to the main menu, majority of the time it just closes the game instead, Super frustrating.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game with low hopes thinking it wouldn't be like the other Driver installments, but it was one of the best games I played in a while, not to mention the music is hella good -- albeit I wished it was easier to select songs instead of having to flip through a good chunk of them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played for 4 hours stright and almost finished the game. good nostalgia trip, my main complaint in the shooting and aiming REALLY sucks in this game, but the driving makes up for it, also killer soundtrack for the 1978 erra.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've finally 100% this game, I'm surprised the other Driver games isn't on Steam.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An enjoyable driving game with a nice damage model, but the gameplay and missions themselves can be a little tedious at times, especially anything you do in between the main missions. The shooting leaves a lot to be desired as well. Overall, I think this game feels more like a short advancement on GTA3, and that's not exactly a good or bad thing, just more what to expect out of this game compared to some other open world games. I would recommend this game only on sale as while it does work out…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this for the nostalgia. Left very disappointed, couldn't even force myself to finish the damn game Btw you need a lot of community made tweaks to make the game playable...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of my favorite open world driving game from the 6th generation, this game ain't going to win any awards but I don't think it was trying to, The story while interesting is a bit short and not well fleshed out, the two eras are really cool and it's fun driving the vehicles from the 70's and awesome to see them placed in the 2006 era alongside with the new vehicles, car customization is great being able to modify most of the vehicles including police cars and taxis, the CGI cut scenes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Compared to the ones I have played before (1 and 3), Parallel Lines feels like the most well-made one. The vehicle handling feels great, and the physics are very consistent. The difficulty of the missions feels quite fair overall, with barely any unfair spikes, and there's a good progression of the level of action as it goes. They toned down the on-foot missions as well, which took up far too much time in 3. Overall, it's definitely a tighter and more focused package. But Parallel Lines also…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game , have been wanting to replay this one for a while , game runs very well never had any crashes and also xbox one/series x controller works with this game despite no controller support listed. 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The driving mechanics are very good, but the repetitive missions and that you need a specific amount of money to play a main mission makes it frustrating, and I know that this is a classic, but I really love to see Driver San Francisco coming back to stores, 5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really nice game. Check PC Games Wiki for patches before playing!! Last missions are the best because the gimmicks, 70s era best era, because of the music: Blondie - One Way or another David Bowie - Suffragette City Very nice game. Funfact: Watch Dogs is the spiritual successor to driver.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They don't make them like they used to. Good gameplay, good graphics, good soundtrack.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Long story short: Driver: Parallel Lines is in every aspect an average game for its time. That‘s also the reason I don‘t recommend it: it‘s too generic, the plot is extremely flat, and all the mechanics like shooting and driving can also be summarized as average at best. If you want Driver because of a good story, good shooting mechanics or good driving, I strongly recommend getting other games from that era. On the other hand, if you want to experience the - as far as I know - only game that…

If you have difficulties in the walktrough, this guide will be very useful: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3561496240 Nikita Dzhigurda in the crimeworld “Driver® Parallel Lines” is a third-person racing action game that tries to compete with Grand Theft Auto but ends up falling short compared to even the earlier titles in the series. The story is split into two acts, set in New York in 1978 and 2006. Still, the whole jumping-around-in-time idea doesn’t really…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 The driver series has always been great and still remains one Im dissapointed that yall dont have driver san francisco tho also what happened to ubisoft reflections?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A childhood game that made me feel very nostalgic. When I was little, I used to play it with cheats, and the little bit of story I had followed was mainly due to watching my older brother play it, so I had some vague memories of the story. A fairly straightforward review, I recommend it for anyone who has played at least one game from the “Driver” series as a child. I don't consider it at all similar to the Grand Theft Auto titles, but rather a cousin that you hold in high esteem. The game has…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A solid gta-like with good vehicle physics. This game got me through the worst times of my life, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. Would be amazing if a remaster/remake were in the works.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Couldn't play the game until I looked up fixes for the crashing.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Short review of a forgotten classic After a long time I have played Driver Parallel Lines again. This was my first Driver game when I was a kid. I was too young for a PS1, so my first console was a PS2 and after a few years I have found my love for PC gaming. Since I was a kid, I am a big fan of open world action games. I remember when I was searching all over the web about open world action games. Because I have played so much GTA, especially the Trilogy (no, not the Definitive Edition :D…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An absolute gem from a once known as one of the best companies and now jus a money hungry company called Ubisoft. Drive is what I grew up with and my obsession with racing games draw me into this genre since Driv3er or Driver 3. There is nothing to explain just wish this game wasnt the only Diver on steam and Driver 3 and driver San Francisco was still on steam love them both.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember picking this game up when blockbuster was still around, and I did enjoy the game. Now? It definitely shows its age but I still have fun playing it. It was definitely an improvement over Driv3r, while the story is pretty straight forward, so I can see why some have mentioned its meh. Overall I liked this franchise more when it wasn't trying to mimic GTA, and just be a game about being the "driver" This game is decent, its not a AAA seller but its just a game to kill time. Though one…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Driver: Parallel Lines is straight up underrated as hell. The 70s side of the game? pure gold. The music, the dirty New York vibe, the cars, the clothes, even the way the city feels, it all comes together perfectly. And honestly, the 2000s part is really damn good too (no as good as the 70's tho). Different mood, colder, more bitter, but it works because the main character carries the whole thing hard. Driving feels weird at first, kinda heavy, but once it clicks it becomes insanely…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THIS GAME IS SO SOLID Very underrated, the cars are such fun to drive it's like a diet GTA Great soundtrack and great setting(s)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Driver: Parallel Lines represents a distinctive turning point in the long-running Driver series, stepping away from the undercover-cop formula of earlier entries and leaning fully into the fantasy of street-level crime, high-octane getaways, and open-world vehicular chaos. Developed by Ubisoft Reflections, the game embraces a rawer, grittier identity anchored around New York City and a protagonist shaped not by law enforcement but by betrayal and revenge. What emerges is a driving-focused…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Second best Driver game, Worth playing for sure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had this on my list for a while, I played Driv3r when I was a kid on the OG Xbox (it was trash, as everyone knows) and I quite like Driver 2 and I LOVE Driver San Francisco. This game has always been kinda skipped over in most people's memories of Driver as a franchise because to be honest it's just Driver 3 but it's actually competent. Glad to have gotten it on sale for £2 and it was a blast, even if I'm a little embarrassed I didn't know you could warp to mission till halfway through the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great old-school GTA-like experience with the unique division between two time periods. It contains memorable licensed music.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →90+% steam rating is extremely misleading—it should be ~70% at best Majority of positive reviews mention nostalgia Environment lacks substance, doesn’t feel “alive“ Clumsy controls all around, especially affecting combat—will sorely benefit from a button reconfiguration Cars excessively rebound/ricochet when colliding with other objects and are too lightweight and bouncy Feels like they’re using “1970’s New York” as a crutch—there’s not much more to Parallel Lines than a hot playlist.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this working on Steam Deck by using a community layout to get to the options screen and change in game controller setup from kb/mouse to windows controller, then go back to Steam Deck controller setup and select Gamepad with Joystick trackpad. To get controller remap options to apply press Right on dpad to access the bottom menu. Aspect Ratio seems wrong at 800p, i changed to 1280x720 with Widescreen enabled. Cutscenes actually look worse than gameplay. Kinda GTA style game. Got the 70s…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Driver: Parallel Lines was average 20 years ago but is pretty bad by 2026 standards. But, if you want to embrace some 70s and early 2000s nostalgia it wouldn't hurt to pick it up on sale. It's pretty goofy and isn't too long but you'll probably get a solid 6 - 7 hours of fun out of it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pretty good, runs on anything, but please i beg of anyone who is reading this, turn off anti aliasing if your car is invisible
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →solid game I like the era change thing. Wish we get more of that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just finished it about a couple of minutes ago, as a fan of the driver series i have played all of them, this one being the only I've haven't tried in the series, but after playing and finishing it, i really wished i played this game way sooner, don't get me wrong the shooting is very Janky at time, but Im used to jank so it wasn't too bad, the main draw was the driving, how damn good it felt to weave through traffic at high speeds, really makes me miss driver: you are the Wheelman, Driver 2…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I spotted this on sale for a couple of bucks and honestly? I wasn’t disappointed at all. Sure, the graphics are a little dated and the controls can feel a bit clunky at times, but overall this game is pretty dang good. You start off cruising through a 1970s-inspired version of New York City, with tracks like Blondie’s “One Way or Another” blasting out of your retro ride—so yeah, instant bonus points for an awesome soundtrack. I haven’t put a ton of time into it yet—maybe about half an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →7/10 The game runs well on Win11 without any external patches. Finished 5 missions (out of 32) and dropped it. It was a bit boring.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun for an old game. definitely aged, but fun for that wheelman experience
