Throw the switch. ME: (does not die no matter how high they crank the voltage, but does feel exponentially increasing amount of pain)

unlabelledView post →NOTE-- I received this game as a gift from a Steam friend, not from the developer. Dracula Origin is a classic point-and-click game from 2008 with many of the good and bad things that come along with it. It doesn't belong alongside the beloved classics, but I think it's a good game that's worth playing. Unfortunately it hasn't been in a bundle for almost 3 years. So on to the pros and cons: (+) Pretty nice graphics for 2008, and it holds up pretty well, IMO. Animations are a bit…

unlabelledView post →Started playing it and like the aesthetic, I can live with janky visuals and actually it looks quite good. It seems the puzzles aren't too hard so far. But I figured out the answer for one puzzle and couldn't continue until I figured out how to get the player character to know the answer, so can be a little stupid like that. Decided to give up when I had to look something up online and it said I had to collect bees in a cloth and feed them to a butler, in no way would I have figured that out…

unlabelledView post →This game is a prequel to the “Dracula: Love Kills” (although “Love Kills” start contradicts the “Origin's” ending). “Dracula: Origin” has a rather beautiful design and interesting story with some nice variations of the classic Stoker's novel, although I felt a bit bored in the beginning and, at one point, thought of quitting the game completely. As to the puzzles, they are either too simple, or too difficult and rely heavily on trial and error and dialogue re-reading, which I personally…

unlabelledView post →Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this game. While the story and puzzles are pretty good, and the graphics held up well, the mechanics were very frustrating. For many objects, the click area is so small that it creates unreasonable frustration. If you're willing to pixel-hunt, some of the puzzles are very rewarding. (Also, loses points for having multiple dogs, but no ability to pet any of them)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an excellent Dracula game. I had a blast going through all the puzzles and trying to find out in what order you were supposed to do things. I strongly recomend this game for those who like puzzle games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't have to force myself to finish this game like I find myself doing with many adventure games. Something new was always going on and nothing felt redundant or stale. The puzzles in this game are good and makes sense. With enough hunting of clues, you can solve them. I recommend it for those who enjoy puzzle adventure games!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I believe I got this game from a humble bundle. It would have been good if I didnt need to look at an online guide for most of it. It was a very complex game to the point I couldnt even enjoy it. There are no instructions or guides in the game when it comes to solving puzzles. It's just like here you go figure it all out. I usually love games like this. It got boring after awhile as well. So, if you want some frustration in your life get this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →man, i dunno how people did these sort of games, back in ye olde 2008.... GUIDE (ALMOST CERTAINLY) REQUIRED this is such a charming game and if you don't mind the pace being a bit slow (wandering back and forth) it can be a really lovely intro to the dracula series. i HAD to use a guide and i recommend you do too, otherwise you'll just get pissed off trying to figure things out. i've seen people comment on how slowly van helsing walks, some scenes you can skip if you double click, but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was a gifted to me in a bundle. I think the game has potential but it was frustrating to play. The click area to pick up and examine items was very small and things were easily missed. The art style also made it difficult to distinguish if an item was back ground or not. Ended up using a guide to figure out where to click and it became so tedious that I gave up on finishing it; not worth the time.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A relaxing point & click puzzle game that is neither too easy nor too hard. This is NOT a hardcore puzzle game so to say, it is rather casual which can be nice from time to time; especially if you play it as a break from more demanding tasks or games. The graphics are nice and tidy tho you won't play it for that factor. 6/10 mediocre, I recommend this to anyone who want to enjoy a recreational puzzle game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not the best and you will need a guide, but if you enjoy the other frogware games, give this a try! it's not too long (i leave my game running so the my time is probably half) and it goes on sale quite often. the atmosphere and voice acting is great, and a lot of the puzzles are fun. as someone who likes these types of games and vampires, i enjoyed playing it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dude been a vampire for hundreds of years, Val Helsing exposed his ass in like 5 minutes with a jewelry box. Even Dracula cracked a smile and was like “you’re wiser than you look like motherfucker” like full “game recognize game” moment. I love this movie. Nobody does it like Lugosi.
unlabelledView post →Not a bad point-and-click game. Some nice moody 2D backgrounds and music. The big bad and other vampires don't get much screen time, sadly. As far as Dracula adaptation - not the best one, but not the worst one either.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would only recommend this to people that really enjoy point-click adventure games. It contains many difficult puzzles, and it requires significant attention to detail. I stuck with it, because I found the story interesting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tip: Press the space bar to see active clickable items so you don't have to pixel hunt!!! Enjoyable point and click adventure game. Puzzles were of a medium challenge, the main voice actor was convincing of the part, and the atmosphere/levels was fitting for vampire lore. I appreciated how the puzzles reflected the theme of the game and weren't stand alone or unrelated like many other games. For example, you had to figure out the demons from normal animals or puzzles relating to dark arts.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A 3D point and click game. Despite looking graphicly ok and sounding pretty decent, the experience of the game is lacking. The gameplay seems really dull when it comes to horror and action which is surprising when it has dracula in the title. You know the Daddy of all vampires, the guy who's supposed to be one mean scary creature of the night who will tear you a new one! yeah that guy's no where to be seen D: In fact it is the total opposite, you do not see dracula at all after the opening…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished! An enjoyable (and fairly easy) adventure game. Nice background graphics too!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is a number of problems with this game. First off, a thing many adventures used to pull in earlier times, the "click every single corner of the map to find a miniscule object". The moody pallete of the game, although good for the feeling of the source material, makes this even worse. A black veil on top of a tomb that could have been an aristic depiction of shadow? A metallic grey pulley in the ceiling with grey cinder blocks in the background. Yeah, not a lot of fun having to resort to…
