He defined forever the appearance of the #vampire, after starring in the 1931 film #Dracula. He was then immortalised in #gothicrock by #Bauhaus in their 1979 debut single "Bela Lugosi's Dead"

neutral · AI labelView post →It’s pretty embarrassing that Hollywood is struggling so much to get this Blade reboot off and running considering it’s a ninja who fights Dracula so you’re already 98% of the way to a perfect movie

neutral · AI labelView post →Rewatched the Werner Herzog NOSFERATU (1979) last night, hadn’t seen it in decades. Man does it hold up. Klaus Kinski’s Dracula is an amazing performance. The movie is visually stunning. Rat content warning: LOTS OF RATS.
neutral · AI labelView post →These outfits reminded me the movie Van Helsing. I love the ballroom scene where Dracula doesn't have a reflection in the mirror. Although... I think Angel is going to hate not being able to see himself in mirrors!!!! 🤣💖 #vanhelsing #dracula #huskerdust #halloween #hazbinhotel

neutral · AI labelView post →It’s crazy to think how Bela Lugosi rightfully defined what we all think of as Dracula, but the only two times he played him were in the original 1931 film and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.

unlabelledView post →This is probably the goofiest thing I own. At first glance it looks like a tie-in reprint of Dracula for Coppola’s Dracula film, but it’s actually an entirely new text. A novelization of a movie that itself is based on a very famous novel.

unlabelledView post →It definitely exists, because it was screened exactly once before DC Comics C&D’ed Andy, because he didn’t have permission, because of course he fucking didn’t. And no, I’m not talking about “Batman vs. Dracula,“ the animated feature. That was INSPIRED by the existence of Andy Warhol’s film.

unlabelledView post →A surreal, animated short film about Dracula starring Lars Mikkelsen and Sofie Gråbøl. In the film, Dracula is trapped in a desolate world of endless sunlight. How's he gonna get out of that one, huh?? The film is currently in its film festival run, so hopefully we can share more about it soon!

unlabelledView post →Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) is a great gothic horror film that is actually one of the more accurate depictions of the book (with the exception of the origin story, that was pure Hollywood). This also proved that Dracula had not become quaint and could still very much be a figure of fear.
