60 of 312 · most liked firstI bought this because everyone said it was a fun co-op survival game. Five hours later I'm starving, freezing, insane, and learning that a winter hat somehow requires more resources than building a house. Fine. I'll join a public server instead. There are 200 servers, 180 of them are in Chinese, half have 60 mods installed, everyone is on day 4000, and they're speaking in abbreviations I've never seen before while I'm still trying to figure out why my berries keep rotting. Winter arrives.…

unlabelledView post →After 1,000+ hours I realized something. Don't Starve Together is NOT a game. I repeat, NOT a game. It is instead a beautifully crafted "LANGUAGE" that you wrestle with, learn, and eventually try to share it with friends. Starting off in either Don't Starve or in DST, you'll have quite the traditional uncompromising experience. Like learning any new language it does not make any sense right off the bat. One important thing that a good coach taught me when learning a secondary language is:…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, I do not like this game because you do not have 1 minute in this game where you can chill. Chilling and careless exploration equals death in this game. I give it a positive review because, even tho this is not a game I enjoy, the game it self is well made and interesting for people who love those type of games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dis game call Don’t Starve Together, and bro… dis is cute game but actually nightmare survival for small idiot like me. I spawn in forest, everything look cartoon, I think “aww nice” and then 5 minute later I dying of hunger, darkness eat my face, and pig man chase me like tax collector. You must collect stick, rock, grass… like caveman simulator. I build fire, feel safe, then night come and game go “hehe no” and shadow monster slap me. I scream “NYEEEET” in real life. Also you play with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don’t Starve Together is technically built for co-op, but somehow I still lost hours playing it by myself. There is something weirdly addictive about being dropped into the wilderness with nothing, then slowly running around collecting resources, crafting tools, building a base, and trying not to die because you made one terrible decision at sunset. The art style is such a big part of the charm. It is creepy, cute, strange, and a little storybook-nightmare in the best way. Everything…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i love this game. the only reason i stopped playing was because my boyfriend couldn't survive a day in the wild. damn those city boys
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I WISH I could love this game, but I'm just too stupid for it! That doesn't mean it's not amazing, though! I highly recommend it, especially for anyone who loves the survival genre. It's tough, but it's not exclusionary: you can choose various difficulties, and there are tons of mods in the Workshop. Thanks, Klei, for such an awesome Halloween-y experience, even if it's not my type of game! I enjoyed what I got to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only just noticed I never reviewed this game. My favorite game. Guess I've been too busy playing to even think about the notion that someone might not know it. DST is a brilliant co-op version of Don't Starve. It is up to the individual player just how much they want to work together witth others, and there are a lot of great servers and amazing mods to play around with to always keep this game new. Devs also regualarly update the game introducing new caracters and game mechanics. You can be…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have been playing Don't Starve Together for about eight years now, and honestly, it's kind of funny that I still don't fully understand all the mechanics. Maybe that was never the point for me. What I really miss is the feeling of being surrounded by people I trust, that quiet sense of comfort and belonging the game somehow created. I miss those days when friends went out hunting and exploring while I stayed back at base, cooking, farming, and taking care of the beefalo. I miss the early…

unlabelledView post →This is not a game, its a masterpiece that will completely engross you What's special about it ? 1. A multi-level and diverse crafting system 2. The world is divided into two dimensions: the constant and the cave, each harboring a million secrets that are revealed as you progress 3. An incredible number of different bosses, from easy to quite difficult 4. A huge selection of characters to choose from, each with unique abilities 5. Base. You can customize your base in a variety of ways,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't Starve Together: A Review Imagine if Tim Burton designed a summer camp, and then that camp was set on fire by a giant eyeball monster. That’s Don't Starve Together. It’s a multiplayer survival game where the main goal is to not die, which sounds easy until you realize everything wants you dead. The cute, gothic art style is a lie; this game is pure chaos. You start with nothing but a sore butt from falling out of the sky. Within minutes, you’ll be eaten by a spider, struck by lightning,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →hello guys, this game is my worst nightmare, it mentally and physically ruined me. I would NOT recommend this game for anyone, who has any self value. I will describe below: [this review is written by someone, who has played this game for the first time, with absolutely zero knowledge about it] 1. the beggining of hell: you spawn into game, and you immediately get absolutely graped. after farming your 6 carrots, 4 berries, perchance 1 flint, the night will start, you will be dying from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My friend bought the game for me. It's the perfect game for multiple players and it's a lot of fun. Can't believe I have played it for more than 1000 hours , still feel new to me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don’t Starve Together is such a fun and addictive survival game! I’ve been playing it with my husband, and somehow surviving together makes everything 10x more chaotic and hilarious 😂
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's great, a proper sequel to the first game, improving the core mechanics and adding quite a few new ones, including ones from the solo dlcs. But there's one thing that really bothers me. The game, as it was released in 2016, doesn't exist anymore, and frankly the devs have done such a horrible job optimizing the damn game in the years since that if you even think about trying to play on a humble 8gb ram setup you'll be sorely disappointed. I've never seen a game as system ram hungry as dst…

unlabelledView post →Absolutely would recommend to anyone with a healthy relationship to pain and suffering. It's basically a survival game designed by someone who hates you personally. 10/10, no complaints. Playing with friends makes it 100x better because now there are more people to watch die and more people to blame when the base burns down at 2am. Communal suffering builds character. Or trauma. Hard to tell which at this point. The spiders are adorable. Yes they will swarm you and yes they will end your…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it’s surprisingly cheap for how much content and replayability you get. it even includes an extra copy so you could drag someone else to suffer with you. i also love how the gameplay forces you to face challenges as each season brings new problems to deal with. this gives the game an ideal balance between being able to plan and prepare for challenges and also being caught off guard by unexpected encounters (because it literally goes to you and you can't run away from it). this aspect of the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A try-to-survive-the-night, barely-make-it-through, die-by-morning, rinse-and-repeat survival simulator. Played with a bunch of friends, and the number of times we died and had to restart the run is beyond what words can describe. The learning curve, inventory management, and multitasking required are extremely steep, but this never ruins the experience. You’re constantly juggling hunger, sanity, and health while trying to figure out how to survive just one more night. One moment you’re…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is actually really different from what i usually play, games like terraria can be easily learned but Don't Starve Together is just so much harder to learn and the learning pattern makes it really fun, i really recommend this game if you're looking for something new and want to play with friends!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mixed ~~ great art direction, amazing music, and fun moment to moment gameplay. But you kinda need a wiki to play it. I have almost 450 hours at the time of this review, and I’d tell my past self to play it on Endless instead of Survival and told that is okay to disable or reduce annoying things like hound attacks, frog rains, random fire in summer etc. That way I could’ve discovered the game on my own and maybe had more fun and more motivation to come back for each update
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There’s something really special about gather around a tiny fire with friends, desperately sharing your last bit of food just to see one more sunrise.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DST is likely the best game I've ever played; these 1000 hours have been so entertaining and frustrating (as almost any game like this is at first) to learn the skill curve but now it's almost became my Minecraft as I always find my self coming back to it. If this wasn't convincing enough maybe this isn't the game for you, however if your still reading this, you shood DEFINITELY give this game a try!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game's focus shifted from charming, creative, and kind of eerie exploration, adaptation, and survival, to a boss battle heavy story and lore progression gameplay that doesn't teach you through intuitive mechanics and designs but rather expects you to educate yourself through external sources based on its popularity. It became a wiki game, expecting players to learn its features through youtube videos, twitch streams, and wiki pages, both mechanics and features as well as lore, instead of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game by itself is PHENOMENAL but for the life of me, I cannot recommend it for the bad networking it has in order to play online, even with good internet, my native friend and I cannot play without lag or some sort of delay (and no, it is not our computers either). It is frustrating when movement is everything in this game, especially fighting fast paced bosses or dealing with hound waves. PLEASE Klei, please look into this, I love your games when they perform well, but the multiplayer…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →❌ Not the Best Game — Short Review I played this game with my friend for about 7 hours, and here’s what I can say. Yes, the game has a cool and unique art style. I got the game for free, but there is a problem. Neither I nor my friends really liked the core idea of the game. It’s hard to explain exactly why, but I’ll try. Cons Very high difficulty The game is extremely hard, especially for new players. You can die very quickly even after small mistakes. This feels frustrating and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8/10 - VERY GOOD! Fun fact: I play Don't Starve Together single-player. I moved over from the original because this is the version the devs kept building, and a decade of updates shows — skill trees, new characters, events, and the mods that remain a must. The honest closure: between the original on three platforms and this one, I've poured hundreds of hours into this world over my life. I'm not leaving because something broke — I'm leaving because I'm full, and ready for something in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If learning a game requires you to have to go outside of the game just to learn it, then it is not a good game. I can't review much of what this game is about. Most of the time was spent managing a hunger bar. Most of the map is just randomly generated resources with the occasional POI's. Combat was the most jank thing I've ever experienced.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i started on xbox, and put 800 hours into that- and here we are, 6 years later. the game itself has been out for much longer than that- started as a gamejam made in a week, evolved into the singleplayer Don't Starve, and now here, at Don't Starve Together. i like it. i also totally get why some people don't. in-game hints are becoming more common to help new players along, but the game is ambiguous on purpose in favor of puns and i think that's charming as it is frustrating. to learn this…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My absolute favorite game of all time, sinked hundreds of hours into playing it. Don't Starve Together is the ultimate survival-adventure-sandbox-social experience that defies proper categorization thanks to its uniqueness and limitless different ways of playing it. And it evolves with you. Playing it as a beginner is a whole different experience of overcoming grueling challenges of harsh seasons and cruel bosses whereas once you become a seasoned survival, day to day experience becomes easy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First, the positives. The artstyle is unique, vibrant and gorgeous! Animations look smooth and everything is full of soul, from the friendly beefalo begging for food, to the horrific nightmare delusions that take over your screen as sanity slips! The game is so performant, it will run on an early 2000s PC. Expected gameplay you can get out of this is easily hundreds to thousands of hours. Which means this is AMAZING value for the money. And there's no need to worry about DLC, you buy the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Difficult but can be a fun game but also frustrating at the same time. You can literally die from almost anything in this game and that gave my friends and I a good laugh OR a scream of frustration (there are no in between). However, despite it all, it is an incredibly great game, just sometimes it might get a little tiring to survive knowing that you can die at any given moment from sometimes the most unexpected things (especially if you are completely new at the game). I do think it is…
