negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love DJMAX but hate always online The game will not be accessible once newwiz shut down the servers
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Style & Presentation DJMAX RESPECT V is an absolute visual aura farming fest for rhythm game fans. The developers completely nailed the presentation. From the sleek menus to the gorgeous background animations that play during each track, the game has a remarkably polished identity. It creates an incredibly immersive environment that makes you want to keep playing just to see what the next song feels like. The customizable gears, note skins and sound fx also add a lot of personalization to the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a great game and the songs are amazing, but unfortunately it's an always online game, this makes me question the longevity of the game when the servers are eventually going to shut down
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →dont get me wrong this is a good game with a lot of love put into it, but theres no way anyone should buy this when its not on sale. $50 for the base game and $670.77 including all the dlc is beyond ridiculous. so if you dont feel like coughing up a bunch of money, just stick to osu!mania or quaver or stepmania (which are free and dont make you pay to access songs). also muse dash costs $2.99 but the muse dash song pack for this game costs $17.99??? why. just why.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was enjoying this game until I tried to launch it offline. Now I wish I could refund it. Always online DRM for a single player rhythm game? Can't recommend. I regret not pirating this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WolfEye Studios' next game, a "First-Person Retro Sci-Fi Action RPG", will be published by NEOWIZ (Lies of P, Skul, SANABI, DJMAX RESPECT V).
unlabelledView post →Gameplay is fine. Difficulty gives it high replay value. But thumbs down for lack of an offline and/or local 2 player mode which is a fatal flaw that works against justifying base game & dlc prices. Music is great tho Get this on sale
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’ll put this as a recommendation just in case, but there are definitely some things worth mentioning. Let's start with the positives. The UI is very neat, clean, and easy on the eyes. Everything feels modern and polished. The visual novel mode was also a pleasant surprise. I honestly didn't expect a rhythm game to include a VN, but it's an interesting addition that helps it stand out from the crowd. The game is supporting their respective artist that is included in this game. Now for the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To be Honest The Gameplay Is Totally fine and Fun to play on But however I don't GET WHY the base game is like 40$ and More worse is How much DLCS they offer you and its like 700$ for all of them just for one game. I rather get ANY other rhythm game and the massive download storage is killing me ( Yes I get that the massive sale on this game reduces the prices for almost all DLC but what im saying that this game feels like a cash grab just slamming dlcs on to your face while other rhythm games…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game truly makes me feel like I have a skill issue. Here I was struggling with a map, fighting for my life to try and get a full combo and a 97%+ on a map, only to learn there are different difficulties. I am a casual consumer of rhythm games, I dont have the tism to master them. Fun nontheless.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As much as I enjoy this game, $50 for a rhythm game that is forced always online is insane. If you're wanting to get into 6/8 key the track lists in this game are great, but with an always online DRM (meaning this game has an expiration date), DLCs that can cost up to $30, ontop of the $50 base price, the "convenience" this game offers over spending some time getting convert tracks on Osu!Mania is a hard sell. Also, for an always online rhythm game, where a lot of the game is held in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, the game is far more fun than I assumed it would be. It's just like guitar hero, but with much more customization, more diverse music, and the overdrive is used automatically instead of requiring you to use it. The options on hand are insane, you can choose between four different button options, you can complete customize your track, you can even choose the sounds your beats make. The amount of content on offer here is staggering, but it comes with a price. The elephant in the room…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing rhythm game! Anyone who wants to spend hundreds of dollars on DLCs should buy this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →88GB without DLCs in this economy is absolutely disgusting. The gameplay is good , and subjectively, some songs are good, however I think a the vast majority of songs feel like filler to me, They're all some kind of techno or instrumental and they all sound very similar to me. Don't forget that it has a lot of dlc songs, and buying all of them is really expensive. I know there are already plenty of songs in the game and you aren't expected to buy them all from the get-go, but as I said…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a very well presented rhythm game with tons of content in various difficulties in 4, 5, 6 and 8 button modes. Unfortunately, the music that comes with the base game is pretty bad on the whole, which in a music game is just a killer. I found maybe 3 songs I wanted to play a second time, out of the 30 or so I tried.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pretty fun but i wouldn't pay full price for it when i could just play osu!mania instead
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a perfectly fine rhythm game, but 50 DOLLARS? The UI and everything feels high effort and I like how the game looks, and the mapping is very good, but its FIFTY DOLLARS for a 4k rhythm game, but get this, you use shift keys, OOOOooOOoooOO! I was lucky enough to get this game for 4 dollars off a steam key but seriously, charging 50 whole USD for this game feels straight up egotistical. As if that price tag weren't bad enough, LOOK AT THE DLC LIST. You spend 50 dollars and there's still so…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is a very cool game i love this game been playing this franchise since the PSP era but having a dmr and no offline mode i fear it will meet the face the same fate as DJmax ray so while i do love the game so much i cant recommend this game without offline mode
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Respect V is the one rhythm game that feels whole to me. Every chart is masterfully designed for the song, the collection of available songs is as expansive as it is enjoyable, and the whole thing checks all the boxes for tailoring your experience to your exact preference. Everything from sounds, to visuals, to speed, to buttons, to home UI. One top-ranked Korean player I practice with said it cleanly: "그 자체로 Respect은 거의 완벽하다." Which roughly equates to "For what it is, Respect is basically…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DRM is so bad. That's the only reason it is not compatible with the steam deck lmao. Game is pretty fun other than that. Practice mode got added so I can play those complex songs at slower speeds too. Note: I did play this game much more on PC Game Pass before buying the Steam version eventually
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DJMax Respect V is a polished key-based rhythm game. If you come from similar free-to-play games (like Osu!mania, Etterna, or Quaver) and wonder if this might be worth your money, just ignore all the negative reviews complaining about pricing. The base game and most DLCs are 80% off during every major Steam sale, and at that point, the amount of content and its quality make it easily worth it. There are: - A lot of tracks (~200 in the base game alone), covering a wide range of styles and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Allow offline play. If people put $200 into the game for DLC, I expect to be able to play this wherever the hell I want.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played Osu Mania for 10 years not knowing there where other games out there with the same 4 key play style, and got up to being able to clear 5 star maps on 4 keys. Before getting this game, I got EZ2ON because I was waiting for the Christmas sale. That game was impressive other than the hotdog water sounding songs. It is CRAZY how good DJMAX is and it blows EZ2ON out of the water. It's more professional, has amazing songs in my favorite genres, and the mapping is the best I've ever seen.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Online-only garbage + extremely over-sensitive "anti-cheat" system that gives no meaningful explanation. "Please close other programs", excellent, yes cool. I sure am glad there is an encrypted log to look at!

unlabelledView post →It's such a good rhythm game, maybe even the best on Steam, but it has so many things going against it. I'll start with my biggest issue with the game, Xigncode. A notoriously invasive anti-cheat which still runs in the background EVEN WHEN YOU DELETE THE GAME!! And getting rid of it is a pain in the ass. It's genuinely the worst anti-cheat one can have installed on their PC, I'd rather have Riot's Vanguard than Xigncode. If you have an issue with this (which you probably should), don't get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really really amazing rhythm game, but too expensive. the base game + all dlc goes on sale regularly, grab it then for it to be worth the money.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay, I mentioned it, so now I HAVE to talk about some of my favorite game typography. This is the ESTIMATE DLC for DJMAX RESPECT V, rocking a powerfully elegant aesthetic for its main menu. Extreme serif stroke contrast. Bold fills and negative space. Flaunting a champagne-colored, strict beauty.

I cover a wide range of genres both paid and unpaid, providing unbiased opinions as well as regular giveaway events. The Issue This game is online mode only. What does this mean? It means you can't play it when the servers are offline, period. I was gifted this game and was excited to play it and got to for a few moments, liked it, even if the songs were so far, mid. But logging out and logging…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is really fun and well produced but I fear it just might bleed me dry. DLCs look more tempting everyday.... :(
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's actually kinda wild seeing RGB sliders for playfield customizations in a rhythm game. DJMAX RESPECT V never ceases to amaze me...
unlabelledView post →DJMAX RESPECT V looks like a rhythm game but actually it allows players to experience the fantasy of having a mother named Jormungandr who wields a katana and is canonically taller than buildings
unlabelledView post →DJMax Respect V is a fantastic rhythm game with polished gameplay, multiple play styles, and a wide range of difficulties that suit both beginners and veterans. The song selection is huge and diverse, though the experience is somewhat held back by the heavy reliance on paid DLC, which can make the full package feel expensive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →im addicted to this guys im getting ZERO work done I cant afford rent, food, taxes, I'm glued to it guys HELP I love djmax
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game on Eneba, 4,20€. This game isn't the stupid price tag of 42€, but it is a nice game, it's fun, have good music, and overall a good experience. If you try to play this game with no internet on, forget it, it won't work, even on Free Mode, the game will not let you play. If you want a comparison, I normally play Osu!Mania, and I feel like the 4* songs in there are harder than the really hard songs in this game. So DJMax feels like a begineer's best choice to start playing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game takes up like 80 gigs and has some obnoxious DRM
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun rythm game, I played a lot of osu but this is the first time I'm playing a "piano roll" rythm game and I think this one is worth the money (bought it on sale). It runs well on my weak office laptop as well as steam deck. There are quite a few of songs I like but this will be very individual. That said I there are three things I don't like: - Extra songs are paid DLCs - It downloads all available content including DLCs, making the game 80+ GB (To be fair it was convenient when I…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rhythm game players are eating good this week when it comes to new content! Bemani Summer event for the whole arcade lineup. PIU Rise getting Phoenix 2024 DLC and a Tanchiky Special update of 4 songs. DJMAX Respect V Liberty 5 DLC. StepManiaX got 4 songs last week. I’m HUNGRY!!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An always online live service rhythm game that normally goes for 40usd and weights 80 gigabytes. For those 80 gigabytes at the start you get a few songs and some basic noteskins and that's about it. Want to play with orbs or something that isn't bars? grind currency and buy it in the shop once it comes around! Scrolled for 5 minutes to look for a song that you like and are done playing it? get forcibly sent to the home screen, sit through a 3 second animation and get back to the main song…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eh it feels good to play, has a mid base song list but insanely peak DLC song list. My biggest complaint is there is no way to turn on hard judge in freestyle. Would be my go-to pure mania style game if that was a feature... Oh also always online sucks

unlabelledView post →It's a simple but incredibly fun rythm game with a great selection of music tracks. You can adjust the learning curve to your liking. I'd reccomend strarting with 4 buttons on the easier tracks and once you get better you can up the diffculty and eventually add even more buttons to keep things challenging. Fortunately there is enough content in the base game however at some point you will have to buy more songs to keep things fresh. The additional tracks are too expensive at normal price but…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DJMAX RESPECT V is an excellent rhythm game and easily the finest home rhythm game ever made, with only a few downsides, for PC players its one of the best rhythm games available at the moment. This game features a wide variety of music, all or most of which is original. Although certain people see it as a downside, the music in DJMAX generally spans a much wider selection of Genres, BPMs, and types than most other VSRG do. This one will admit the base game has a slightly limited selection of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really great mania rhythm game that I highly recommend, with the only downside being the online mandatory and the song packs, which can either be a hit or miss (especially collabs). Thankfully, these song packs are optional and you can buy some that you prefer. Story is.... there's a story?? . The story started as a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to make fun of the state of DJMAX series then expanded it into a weird multiverse thing honestly, I'm confused and not confused at the same time . I'm cutting it…
