There will be Japanese comments in the code, but they're working with the same statements (if, else, print, etc.) as everyone else. Now for whether the original in-game text is Japanese first and then translated, the answer is still that it depends, but for a lot of games likely yes, and some other games definitely not. Older games would be written for Japanese…

unlabelledView post →So spoilers for Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning but I can’t believe the tone of this movie allows for a moment where the audience is convinced that we’re about to see this thing get beaten to death by a child with a baseball bat. And then what ACTUALLY happens is SO MUCH WORSE

unlabelledView post →You might also remember that in Digimon Adventure Our War Game Sora's anniversary was an important element in the story. The staff making the movie seems to have had no idea about the "no-birthdates rule", so it's a setting that only exists for the movie and not the TV series.

unlabelledView post →Sometimes I still see some people asking why Greymon was so different in the first Digimon Adventure movie, when it's really just design differences as shown when the movie flashbacks appeared in the anime. I do feel the scenes are strange without the more monstrous design.
