And, at the end of the day, the theme of Deponia Doomsday seems to be one big middle-finger to the audience and to the studio execs for requesting a fourth game. It's the creators' and developers' way of saying, "You want a happy ending? This is what happens when you want happy endings. This is what happens when you screw around with the story we told. You're welcome." You are…

'At the end of the day, the theme of Deponia Doomsday seems to be one big middle-finger to the audience and to the studio execs for requesting a fourth game. It's the creators' and developers' way of saying, "You want a happy ending? This is what happens when you want happy endings. This is what happens when you screw around with the story we told. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so ive been playing this game for about 9 hours now and i think im in the middle of it or more so towards the end. look its not a "bad game", if you like point and click adventures than sure go for it, id even go as far as to say you probably dont need to play any of the previous games to understand or enjoy anything here (which i dont see as a plus but you ll understand what i mean) if you havent played the game ill have both a spoiler free and a spoiler review cause i think for ppl who…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought for a good bit after finishing this game on if I recommend it cause it's still kinda deponia puzzle wise and character wise or not cause overall story wise it's kinda...... pointless.... then a friend explained that the only reason it exists is cause of some people that didnt like the ending of the main trilogy as daedalic doubling down. So here we are, Deponia Doomsday, the 4th game of a trilogy, and that's how i'll always label it cause there's not really a reason for it to exist.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Maybe people should make games out of spite, because this one is better than the first three combined
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Daedalics were like: "Listen, we TOLD you the story has ONLY three parts. There can't be a fourth one-- Actually, okay, if you really need it and ready to pay, then here ya go." And that's about it! It's a fourth game that basically tells you that there shouldn't have been a fourth game. Still as awesome as the others though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No way. They've spat in player's face twice with the ending. Game by itself is very good, but crappy ending left me sour
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first three installments are imo the best adventure trilogy ever made. The trashiest Rufus realizing something the others never could was so heartwarming and sad at the same time. Without the fanbase not getting along with the ending this abomination would not exist. If you love the trilogy you're better off ignoring Doomsday.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unlike first 3 parts this one is a spit in the fans' faces. Gameplay is fun and so on, but the story? That's not what I really wanted. THERE IS NO HAPPINESS, IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IT STORYWISE > DON'T BUY this part NOR PLAY IT and imagine the end yourself. IF you don't care - go on, there is another load of toxicity and trolling if you are up to it. My recommendation is based on personal dissapointment and offense.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unlike the first 3 entries in the serie, this one is not that great. It starts greats, but rapidly grow boring. The main issues is that the puzzle feel unimaginative, we find something and we use it right away on the first thing we see. Also, the story in itself is meh. I can't recommend this 4th entry.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dont buy this game if you didnt like the ending of goodbye deponia
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They made the fourth part just to break me all over again. And this time, I cried even harder.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hum... It's OK. This is a point-and-click game with humor as the backbone. The graphics are good. The music is decent. The story? Well, not so easy to follow—it helps a lot if you’ve played the previous games to fully get what’s going on. No bugs, but I did run into some crashes during the last part of the game. Overall, it’s entertaining. The humor is kind of juvenile, so expect a few chuckles here and there, but don’t go in hoping for belly laughs. The puzzles? A mix of too easy and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was complete ♥♥♥♥. The whole story from game 1 to this game has been so ♥♥♥♥. 0 humour, 0 ending, 0 sense of puzzles, 0 music (WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥ AM I LISTENING TO?!?), character art was good ngl, voice acting is good, protagonist is just so dumb that one starts to hate him and for once he does something good at the end, there is no end? Wasted money, time and mental health. Had to watch walkthrough to get through this game multiple times because game puzzles makes no sense. Atleast…

unlabelledView post →The first three Deponia games were fantastic - packed with genuinely funny gags and an engaging story. This one, however, is an infuriating, repetitive mess that leads nowhere. There have been rumors that the author wrote this as a form of revenge against those who disliked the third game's ending, and honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if that were true. No, I absolutely do not recommend this train wreck, not even on sale. This series has long overstayed its welcome, and frankly, I hope we…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Game, don't listen to the negative reviews. This is a classic Deponia game just like the first 3. Definetly worth it. If you played the first 3, this is a must.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the whole story is straight up ass⠀, except for the final 10 minutes which was the only important part, might as well just make the 10-minute-part as the whole game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i really appreciate the effort but there is absolutely no reason for this game to exist
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deponia Doomsday is the fourth and last instalment in the series and continues the adventures of Rufus and Goal - the main protagonists. Even though the series was meant to be a trilogy, the devs felt the need to make a sequel due to negative fan sentiment over the ending of the third game. Mind you, every game in the series had a bad ending but the series conclusion stung the most. The fans wanted a correction and the devs proceeded to give everyone the middle finger, a wedgie, a circlejerk.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay, so I thought long and hard on how to rate part 4 of this series while doing Jackalopes achievement and my conclusion: it’s not worth it (and it’s not because of this tedious achievement). I am not even mad at the ending (just wish it was delivered better) which is by the way exactly the same as part 3 with just some more details which honestly still wasn’t good enough to accept it. It is amazing how devs took their time to create new game with new scenarios, new mechanics and fun…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just keep the good memories from Deponia 1-3 and dont waste anything on this title. I feel lost, stressed, bored and dissatisfied. I cant recommend this part.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had high hopes for this game. I thought we would get a good ending and the same game loop which is so enjoyable. After playing through this entire game I can only say that I was thoroughly disappointed. The gameplay was changed and now incorparates quick time events, or atleast something similar to them. Later on in the game you have to use the same mechanic for like 2 hours straight, and sit through long cutscenes. The game also uses alot of resets, meaning you have to regather alot of stuff…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The character is supposed to be an anti-hero, if you are not happy about it then the developer once again made sure that some guy would cry about it. Its called "anti-hero" for a reason, not every ending is supposed to have a: "they lived happily ever after", inside of the game there's also this symbiotic kinda of an approach to it. You are NOT getting what you want, its a slap to the face, some go on and accept it, some are deluded because they got tricked into thinking there was deeper…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deponia Doomsday is a fascinating and polarizing installment in the Deponia series, a point-and-click adventure franchise developed by Daedalic Entertainment. Released in 2016, this fourth entry takes a dramatic shift in tone and narrative structure compared to its predecessors, blending science fiction, absurdist humor, and time travel into an ambitious—if at times convoluted—tapestry. Fans of the earlier games will recognize familiar characters, recurring motifs, and the distinctive…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The whatever ending to the Deponia series. Why on earth did they feel the need to come back to make a fourth in a trilogy?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just don't play it. What a waste of time, i feel bad for even touching that. Just leave it be at the 3th as the end. Author of the story was very butthurt about all the peapole that wanted good ending it didn't have to be fairytail ending. In the end we got this to justificate the ending of 3th and let me tell u 4th is even bigger mess than this review.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hi, I'm wrighting this moments after finishing the game. I was hesitant to play this installment as I was one of the (few?) people that really liked the ending of Goodbye Deponia and a time traveling game were the whole premise of the story is to rewrite the ending put me off the game for years, put I finally came around to play it. and I most say I am not disappointed. Not by the game as a whole and the ending. The animation is better than ever, the jokes lands better than in GD…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to admit that this story is pointless and i will not spoil it because its still a good ride This story is literally going back to memory lane, talking to previous characters is sweet and we finally understand what happened before deponia 1. New characters is also entertaining but damn it's another bitter sweet ending I hate it that the devs make me love the story so much only to give me a middle finger in the end.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How amazing is the writing here? If everything else was mediocre, it would still pass as a perfectly decent game, but everything else (very much including the animation) is, in fact, on an enviably high level as well. Would this go in my personal "10 games you must play before you die"? I'm pretty sure it would, actually.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Deponia point-and-click adventure saga concludes on a disappointing note with Deponia Doomsday. Although the game boasts the best artistic stylings in the series, its other aspects serve as lowlights. The plot centers around a confusing time paradox, creating progressively deeper and more bewildering plot holes with each passing scene, from which it fails to recover. The writing, never a strong suit of the series (with some credit given for potential translation nuances), falters further.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A point and click adventure with a focus on humour set on a doomed planet consisting mostly of garbage and scrap. Deponia Doomsday acts as sort of a spin-off to the Deponia series, letting you revisit the games’ story in an attempt to change it using time travel. Thus, playing the previous entries in the series is basically required to understand the story, although, given some of the time-travel shenanigans, there may be some level of confusion anyway. You control Rufus, an inhabitant of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Weird, offensive "humour". Outside of that, many of the puzzles are extremely far-fetched.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Liked the first games but not sure what they were trying to do with this. A bit off the wall and some of the logic didn't work for me. Played it to the end which was a bit tacky although I think they thought the were being clever. Not the worst game in the world but not as much fun as the others. They should've left it alone really. The main page of the game says "keep off Deponia" and it is right.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well in my opinion: AWESOME! Although, The story as a whole from the first three games had better ending, without the doomsday :/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →36/36 achievements. I hoped that the final installment of the game would be one that's free from bugs and other problems. But the biggest issue is the audio mixing. Voices are just too soft, even when you turn the music and effects all the way down. It's been an issue reported back in 2016. https://steamcommunity.com/app/421050/discussions/0/405693392917256372/ And guess what? Achievements where you have to do the same thing 10 million times? It's here again, but to the extreme. There's one…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That was my first Deponia game, so I have no knowledge of other games nor their plot. Loved the art style, riddles were mostly fine, didn't like the ones with time pressure. Main character is a douchebag (that's negative if someone wonders). In general game felt like the old adventure games I enjoy, so can recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Huge disservice to the fanbase. I had to do some research after playing just the intro and wow the developers truly decided to bite the hand that feeds them. To sum it up a large portion of the fanbase didn't like the ending of the trilogy. So what did the developers do? Make an entire game to constantly mock them. I haven't even gone much past the intro and the game already said things like "theres no happy end, suck it up princess". What a way to be a huge buthurt douche to your audience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It´s a fun and enjoyable adventure in Deponia world for about 6 hours. Totally worth buying if you like to use objects to proceed. A Prequel to this game is Deponia Complete, also great.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, shocked. I went in skeptical and disappointed after the third game, but I surely didn't expect that this one would become my favorite game in the series. It surely is still not perfect with messed up plot points, ridiculous riddles that are impossible to solve without guides, and some insensitive jokes, but it has soul in it. I loved the new mechanics and the overall story. This game never allows you to get bored even for a second. There is so many locations and cool characters that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So this one I still liked but it was a bit... unnecessary. Without spoilers this game feels like the dev just really didn't like how people disliked the ending of the trilogy and just said "Fine I'll give you a new ending; but be careful what you wish for!" It still felt good like the other games and was pretty cool with the whole premise of going back and forth in dimensions and time. However the whole game you get subtle and not-so-subtle metaphors and hints to the dev angry with the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't take it from me, but Doomsday is an extremely rare species of video game. Since time immemorial, game devs have felt pressures from theirs fans (& their 'fans'), resulting in sequels & prequels that fully miss the plot, lose spirit, dumb-down or cater to the loudest complaints of the dumbest people... Doomsday, somehow, avoided and overcame that. It completely stands on its own amongst the three, and did everything a brilliant sequel - let alone a finale - should do. 1. It was…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deponia Doomsday is a point-and-click adventure game which is the fourth and final game in the Deponia series. One of the things that sets Deponia Doomsday apart from the other games in the series is its time travel mechanic. The player can travel back in time to different points in the story in order to change the past and prevent the end of the world. This adds a new layer of complexity to the game's puzzles and makes for a more engaging and challenging experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brilliant the whole series, I'm sorry it had to end.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Puzzles are not intuitive and really kills the momentum of the game. Arguably the worst installment in the series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deponia Doomsday is a little something I've pulled out from the abyssal depths of my backlog the other day, with 13 years or so separating "the other day" from me finishing the original Deponia trilogy. There's clearly a timeline out there where the original trilogy was left alone, and if I were its inhabitant, I'd be fully content with that. I can't exactly say that what we have here is an essential continuation of the series, but in the end it's so damn cheeky that I can't help but be fond…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The last Deponia game by Daedalic Entertainment. Enjoyed the series a lot! But the 1001 jackalopes achievement is more than just a pain in the ass... First time I had to use some sort of auto-clicker.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More fun on Deponia
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The weakest link of the series. Crazy to say but I miss the old mischievous jerk Rufus. He's lost all his personality now. This game is not funny at all, least to say with a very complex storyline involving a lot of time travel. I had to cheat quite a few times at the beginning bc the puzzles made no sense ( star, DNA machine and psychic ball puzzles ) afterwards it was a breeze. I wouldn't recommend paying full price for it and if you never play it is OK too. What bothered me the most is that…

Living in the waste was not to your taste, but soon you will gaze truth straight in the face that all rivers run e-ventually to the sea. At this stage it's evident, there will be no happy end. Suck it up princess, no one cares for you tears. It is over I've no damns to give for second thoughts that you're stuck with, looking for loopholes…
