53 of 53 · most liked firstI feel a bit bad as these indie developers did a great job for certain parts of the game. The aesthetic is wonderful: stylized, enjoyable art, very fitting, fun music, the atmosphere/theming is strong. However, the actual game mechanics part is unfortunately sorely lacking and neglected. I'm not even sure if it's something that can be easily fixed as it would require an overhaul of the whole system. As it stands, the brunt of this game is rolling a six sided die and hoping to get the required…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game looks great and interesting, but unfortunately the gameplay is just not there. Everytime you select an option you basically roll a dice and hope to beat the requirement, you can get bonuses if you were lucky and the case you selected had information. The gameplay just boils down to RNG from the start, that you can improve later on, but it still won't make the gameplay loop fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so ADDICTIVE! Even for me, I am not familiar with bureaucratic terms, numbers, and taxes. I dare to say it's amusing the way we are introduced to this kind of boring world! (I hate numbers and adult bureaucratic stuff) -The game's aesthetic is amazing, with beautiful visuals and nice sound design (love the Jazz in every scene) -The game's flow is solid, I got curious to continue day-by-day in the game timeline to know more about the lore, -Btw the storytelling seems to be one of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edit now I've finished the game: I can't recommend it. There's too little substance. The following might seem harsh as it's clear a lot of love went into this. The art and music are great, and I think the idea behind the game is solid, but the execution is, in my opinion, too poor to make playing the game worth it. After my first week I posted a positive review because while the gameplay was a little lacking I was looking forward to seeing what they do with it as the story advanced. The answer…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game boils down to rolling the dice and hoping; if the rng isn't on your side and gives you bonus points for rolls you will not succeed; if you like craps buy the game cause it is cheaper than the casino; no real management or in depth gameplay like the trailer shows
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While an interesting concept I'm not a fan of the execution...everything seems more luck than skill based. The "resource management" is very minimalistic. Basically earn enough each day to continue and then use the excess to hire the people who actually go out and collect the funds Normally I try to stretch things out in a situation like this closer to the refund cap time to see if the game starts to evolve and get more entertaining but I just couldn't bring myself to play through another…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Found it boring, honestly. There's no skill involved its just RNG D&D type "roll for luck" on wether your interaction succeeds. But overall it was just not that fun to begin with. I saw from the screenshots there seems to be more, but if the game can't even hold your attention for 30 mins to get to any interesting parts it's not worth it for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is not terrible, there is a concept there that could be fun if A LOT more was added. However, I had 3 issues that spoiled the games experience. 1. My first and biggest issue is the first week and a half of in game time is incredibly boring with nothing to do. The main game loop comes down to if the documents are expired press button 1, if they have confidential information press button 2, and if neither then press a random one and hope you get lucky. I normally give games about an…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've just bought the game, so I don't have many hours of gameplay just yet. But I've played it at Gamescom Latam and I already found it cool. Now I'm playing I discovering it has a lot of layers of jokes, easter eggs and gameplay features. And the graphics omg, they are awesome! If you like satirical jokes, adult swim cartoon style and narrative games (or papers please), just buy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great game for fans of indie games! The graphics, sound and gameplay are just great and create a cool 90s entourage. The cool thing is that there is not only a location where the character works, but also other locations and scenes that will open up to us as the plot develops. I will update the review later. The game is addictive!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do love the game, but it's too reliant on RNG to make the gameplay loop feel very fun after more than a couple few rounds. I saw some great suggestions on how the devs could tweak the gameplay loop, but I can't recommend the game as-is
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is Papers Please on steroids with really nice artwork.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I agree with some of the other statements that the gameplay just is not really there. It's not engaging. But what really made it frustrating is that the controls are all over the place. I need to use shift to bring up the assets. This also does not pause the call. Then it does not show that to get out of the menu it is also shift (QOL). At times it also wouldn't let me use this option at the beginning of the call either. The mouse button I need to click on the specific dialogue boxes which are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great spin on the "cozy" visual novel trend we have been seeing recently. However, this game is far from "cozy", as most of its mechanics and atmosphere deals with stress and anxiety. Still, it has that engaging storytelling from the genre in a quite unique scenario. The gameplay is round and fun. The sound track is cool and jazzy, matching the peculiar and polish, yet gritty artstyle - it has quite an old 90's cartoon vibe to it. My only downside is that often I felt the game relied too much…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played around a bit and will probably update the review later. The first thing I noticed was the cool atmosphere that was created with the help of the visual component and music. Everything fits together great. At first it seemed to me that this was just a game in which you need to work in the office, but there is an interesting plot here as you perform your duties. As far as I understand, this game has different endings, so it will be great to play it more than once and see everything that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →From buying the game to completing my first playthrough only 2,5 hours passed. The developers tried to implement some features that improve replay value (multiple "story-lines", a few different buffs) but the gameplay is just too shallow. After <1 hour you have seen everything the gameplay has to offer and once you understand the system its way to easy and boring. Also there are too many unskippable animations and repetetive text bubbles which you have to click away hundreds of times per…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game. It had fun music. Neat art. Good theme. But as I was playing and getting into finishing day 3, I realized... I wasn't actually having fun. I was rolling a random die and hoping I got the number to pass... but I had no real direction on how to improve that number. The shop wouldn't let me buy things to improve even with the money I had. In the end, I refunded the game, because if I'm going to spend time doing something. I'd like to enjoy it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wonderful writing, difficult to know what is going on at first glance, few slaps across the beak by my team and we were off and planning badly. Serving a corrupt Mayor, by extorting the community businesses with guilt, threats, talking and bluffing to get them to pay up... like a government mobster... Whats not to like?? I felt in my first week, that I was a pro... was too easy... until It was not.... I got fired day one in my second week of work... I did receive a parting gift however...,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked this game! It's very addictive. You don't notice the hours passing by. Something new always happens throughout the story and you never know what awaits you at the end of the day! The narrative is great and well constructed. The illustrations are gorgeous and give the game all the charm. It worth! It's easy to understand and play and has a lot of content to offer. I will keep playing for sure! Recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got the game from a bundle and enjoyed playing it. It fun and I like the artwork. It took me 2h30 to make one run but I will not replay it, I am fine with one run and move on. While it is a luck of the dice at the beginning, you can eventually buy items to influence the dice role in your favour, so by the end of the game even with low roll I was able to collect debt without problem.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Working As The Mayors Personal Debt Collector The Positive's + Good Soundtrack + Lovely Art Style + Multiple Endings The Negative's - Repetitive Dialogue/Gameplay - Boring Story The Aspect Of The Game You are the new debt collector working under the mayor at city hall. Your job is to collect a certain amount of money each day or get fired. My Two Cent Review Don't get me wrong I love story games, document checking games, and repetitive management games but after going through…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I went back and forth on my overall rating of this game. On the plus side: great story telling and cool art style. On the down side: the game-play boils down essentially to an RNG/dice roll. Also, sometimes the game will load up as though it is about to give dialogue but instead will freeze until I am forced to just skip the scene which is a real downside in a story-driven game. If they can fix this bug it will be a definite up vote!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, when i saw this game in one of the next fest promotions i had to wishlist it because I really loved the art style. This game shares a lot of similarities with Paper's Please but an easier approach and very RNG focused. I enjoyed the loop gameplay but i wish it wouldnt depend so much on randomness to progress the story. Fun and addictive indeed, i would definite recommend anyone to try this game, the dialogues are also very clever and funny.. when they work. This is an indie game and I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AMAZING! I started out a bit lost, not quite understanding everything, but before I knew it, I had spent 2 hours playing at work. Highly recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is very well made, great graphics, great music, very creative mechanics.. overall pretty fun! If you liked "Papers please" definitely give this one a shot! Totally recommend it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played the demo before! This game is witty, with a dry, direct humor reminiscing of old Adult Swim content, and the artstyle and music are amazing! I'll update this review after I 100% it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game about... persuading people to pay what they owe you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Liked it a lot so far! The art is unique and funny, the music is cool and the dialogues are funny! I'm planning on getting all the endings!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the visuals, but the gameplay is just boring. You pick 3 cases, and try to guess what works from the 4 options. That's it. If you succeed on the day, you get some funny intermission and then back to work...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The last upate made the game way more playable! I loved idea from the start, but game-mechanics were too simplistic and barren.. I'd say are still to simplistic and skewed, but at least not that burren anymore :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Joguei 30 minutos, e ja da pra saber que o jogo é bom demais.......... KKKKKKKKKKKK.... os dialógos, cenas in cut, etc. Tudo otimamente construído, talvez tenha problemas futuros, mas por enquanto sensacional. Pontos extras por ter sido desenvolvido por Brasileiros!!.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun little game based on document checks and dice mechanics. the graphics reminds me of old school mtv. didn't finish it yet but I'm enjoying so far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really really good and addictive game! Love the graphics style, the funny voices and the story line that can chance with the choices you make. Also very nice you fixed the minor things in the game quite fast, thanks! 10/10 game buy this NOW! ^^,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool game, relaxing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really fun game! From the start, the dialogues with sharp humor and irony are very unique and captivating. Every choice has a consequence and leads to different paths in the story line. The writing is definitely the strongest point of this game, always getting your attention in every task. Not only that, the art style complements the game very well, the music and sound effects are very immersive and make the gameplay even more engaging. The minigames are really fun, adding dynamic to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and funny, the debtor's dialog are hilarious and the art is incredibly beautiful. The music, it's amazing, it gives a cool jazzy suitable style for a job sim. I'll definitely keep playing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A witty game of persuasion and checking documents. The cartoonish visuals and jazzy soundtrack give it a lot of charm.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A thrilling blend of strategy and pressure, Debtors' Club turns tax collection into a darkly satisfying power trip. Intense, stylish, and ruthlessly addictive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i thought it will be funny narrative experience it's chaotic, not really funny and weird
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very addictive, charming art, and wonderful music. I made it through one complete month and I can't wait to go back in and do it all over again!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, first the haters probably just don't like to read. This game has an engaging story with multiple endings based on your decisions. It is definitely tongue in cheek humor. Definitely worth a playthrough or two or three. It is up to odds and chance at first but once the gameplay clicks wow! Great game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not really worth it, it gets boring fast
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just wasn't fun after the first week. Everyone says ok and doesn't react. There was almost something here but for me it just became boring and repetitive.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am quite honestly stunned at how little game there is. Its basically a VERY poor man's "papers please". I am playing the first 3-4 days and sure, I can tell there's going to be some minor difficulty addons and some items you can buy, but..what on earth are all those screenshots on the store page? The core game seems to literally be pressing one of four choices to invoke RNG-sus for whether or not a guy on the phone pays, you get two tries, if things go bad, the entire day fails and its game…

Manage a team & make tough choices that affect people's lives in this savage resource management game. (I have no idea why you're giving somebody a tattoo in this screenshot)

The success of the day is based on RNG quite a lot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Debtors' Club is a game with a lot of potential, blending a narrative-driven resource management experience with a unique art style and clever writing! The premise of playing a tax collector in a shady city hall, making tough choices, and managing a team is intriguing, and the wacky humour helps carry the experience. However, the game play itself is where the game falters, and despite some fun elements, it doesn’t live up to its potential. Positives: > Art and Sound: The visuals are striking,…
