60 of 165 · most liked firstI finally sat my husband down to watch Death Note with me, he’d never seen it except for the insane movie with Willem Dafoe (who is literally made for the role of Ryuk it’s crazy) We’re doing 2-3 eps per evening and it’s great
unlabelledView post →I still really appreciate him in the Death Note movie. Not a great movie but he crushed that.
unlabelledView post →To my fellow single bitches, I declare myself your Valentine!!! (Platonically I’m Aro/Ace). But I will hold your hand and we can be single bitches together. Now get over here, so I can cuddle you and explain the many reasons I love the live action Netflix Death Note movie.
unlabelledView post →Knowing this was animated by Korean animation studio DR Movie who worked on the actual Death Note anime makes this so much better,
unlabelledView post →I am not immune to the cunty moth Shinigami from that Death Note movie I never saw.
unlabelledView post →Just watched the Netflix Death Note movie I think I respect the art of filmmaking less now
unlabelledView post →Margaret Qualley? From the Death Note live action Netflix movie?
unlabelledView post →Here's a throwback to my alternative movie poster for DEATH NOTE, along with a pic of Ryuk eyeing up my apple 😜🍎
unlabelledView post →Amusing coincidence, that's Shannon Chan Kent as the roadhouse waitress. Anyone versed in the voiceover/dubbing scene knows her, among other things, as Misa in Death Note, and as she would end up voicing after this film, Amy Rose and her variants in the Sonic Prime tv show #SonicTheHedgehog
unlabelledView post →The 2006 Death Note movie has one of the most hilariously heavy-handed origin scenes you'll ever see, because it has a disillusioned Light Yagami throwing a book called "The Compendium of Laws" away and then immediately stumbling upon the Death Note in the middle of the road.
unlabelledView post →there comes a time in everyone’s life where you’ve gotta have some difficult conversations with your parents like when your dad watches the american live-action Death Note movie when he can’t sleep at 2am and starts asking you questions about the anime
unlabelledView post →Willem Dafoe is often the only redeeming quality in a garbage movie and fucking hell, he even managed to be great in the live action Death Note movie.
unlabelledView post →Unironically a better Death Note movie than the actual Death Note movie.
unlabelledView post →Was meant to film 4 episodes of my Death Note React! I managed 1 because of this little guy! 🥲❤️

unlabelledView post →Ah, Death Note. My favorite Disney movie!
unlabelledView post →Me, immediately after watching Prescription: Murder, the tv movie that became the Columbo pilot: I don't know why we needed multiple live action adaptations of Death Note when we already had this.
unlabelledView post →Okay, so this Hallmark Christmas movie is basically just Death Note except instead of the Death Note she finds Santa’s Naughty List.
unlabelledView post →If the live action Death Note is a bad movie, why didn't anyone tell Willem Dafoe?

unlabelledView post →New from me: I made a video on why the Netflix Death Note movie would've been okay if it'd just been a brand new story and wasn't trying and failing to be like the anime show.

unlabelledView post →Willem Dafoe was good but he was also the only good part of the Death Note movie. So I feel like Willem Dafoe is good in literally everything
unlabelledView post →It sucks that they made a Death Note movie with Willem Dafoe as Ryuk - the absolute perfect casting possible - and yet it wasn't all that good.
unlabelledView post →I just finished the first JP live action movie for Death Note. I'll post my thoughts later but can someone tell me why Red Hot Chili Peppers is doing the ending theme? 😭

unlabelledView post →only kind of counts but i've only ever watched the live action movie of Death Note (2006 one) because my brother was watching it
unlabelledView post →Making @deoidesign.bsky.social watch the Netflix Death Note movie. Deo has never seen the anime or read the manga!!! I'm so excited for them to see the BEST interpretation of the material.

unlabelledView post →I watched the Death Note 2017 film adaptation. There is very little to almost nothing that I can praise about the adaptation, but it is also important to understand its intention. According to the director, it is not meant to be a faithful adaptation, but it does try to keep the core themes intact.

unlabelledView post →the only manga i have ever read: - the first 3 volumes of Death Note - All You Need Is Kill (and the light novel) ((this is what the movie Edge of Tomorrow is based on except Edge of Tomorrow fucked it)) - all of Dungeon Meshi
unlabelledView post →Yall look at this awful description for this awful Death Note movie
unlabelledView post →Granted I haven't seen the last episode, but I'm going to air my opinion anyway. I was reading about the netflix Death Note movie and why it was so bad. The director said they wanted to make an "americanized" version of Death Note. I think they really missed the mark there.
unlabelledView post →Thinking about the question they had several years ago “This manga by the same artist as Death Note, that the movie the Edge of Tomorrow is based on” And ofc none of the contestants got it, and tbf, it is (kind of?) an obscure manga.
unlabelledView post →i disagree: not to say that it's literally impossible to make this framework go, but it's basically the difference between the Death Note anime and the Adam Wingard film, e.g. Light as a prodigy tragically led astray by hubris vs. just a fucking dipshit lucking into cosmic power
unlabelledView post →Thinking about the Adam Wingard Netflix Death Note movie again and honestly that shit is underrated as hell I should rewatch it again soon
unlabelledView post →For a moment I thought that was Ryuk from the live action Death Note movie.
unlabelledView post →I was recovering from surgery during GodzillaXKong, Godzilla Vs Kong was a COVID release, Death Note was a Netflix movie, seated for my first Adam Wingard movie in a theater since Blair Witch a decade ago.
unlabelledView post →The female Shinigami from the Japanese Death Note movie from 2016 looks amazing
unlabelledView post →Just remembered how terrible the netflix Death Note movie was 😶
unlabelledView post →...Did Tim Blake Nelson become Light Yagami? Because he just Death Note'd a dude. Is this a secret pitch for a Death Note movie. I don't know what I'm talking about anymore XD
unlabelledView post →I once used someone's write a tweet for me redeem to make her tweet that the Netflix Death Note movie is the most faithful and respectful adaptation an anime has gotten 😈
unlabelledView post →Watched Death Note (2006) last night, the JP live-action film. As someone who is only aware of the general premise (Guy writes name in book, person dies, other guy stoppem) and has not read the manga/seen the anime I gotta say it was pretty good. Did a good job bamboozling me with the whole premise.
unlabelledView post →Silly death note au Mamoru Asahi (famous theater and movie actor) and Ryuzaki Yamaguchi (aspiring star) both auditioned for the roles of Light and L in Death Note: The Musical. Both are lawlight fans and write fanfics about them on ao3. And both can't stand each other's works #deathnote #lawlight
unlabelledView post →The live-action Saint Young Men film casts Tatsuya Fujiwara as Lucifer! He reunites with his Death Note co-star Kenichi Matsuyama in the December 20 film!
unlabelledView post →Listen the Matrix and Avengers references are one thing but wait until I rewatch the second movie and there's a fucking Death Note reference
unlabelledView post →3. Death Note 2017 Willem Dafoe as Ryuk is perfect casting and unsurprisingly he’s brilliant in the film. I genuinely can’t think of anyone else who could do a better job with his character performance wise.
unlabelledView post →Willem Dafoe as Ryuk in that shitty Netflix Death Note movie.
unlabelledView post →After that I watched Death Note: L Change the World (2008) and wow that was fucking jarring, I think I missed a film, who are these people, what is going on, and mfer why are you like this!?!?
unlabelledView post →Me: 😏 Me remembering the Death Note movie Netflix made: ☠️
unlabelledView post →Stel dat er op zo'n respectloze, racistische manier over voetbal werd geschreven. Of film. Wat een vreselijk luie journalistiek van RTL Nieuws dit. (Het is trouwens Death Note. En bubble tea komt oorspronkelijk uit Taiwan.) www.rtlnieuws.nl/editienl/art...
unlabelledView post →Like Willem Defoe being perfectly cast as Ryuk, with a haunting performance to give you a glimpse of how good a Death Note movie could be before showing you the disappointment to follow!
unlabelledView post →ICYMI, I posted a retrospective on the Netflix Death Note movie today (www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zzq...) - the movie that produced this classic cinematic moment:
