60 of 202 · most liked firstSaw Del Toro’s FRANKENSTEIN on 35mm at the Angelika. Much like CRIMSON PEAK I think you need to go in understanding that this is not a horror movie, it is a melodrama. And it’s a good one that I enjoyed very much. Also, man. The monsterfuckers are eating well with this flick
unlabelledView post →I think a big reason Silent Hill 2006 looks so much better than Return to Silent Hill is down to the cinematography. The first movie was done by Dan Laustsen who has worked on Crimson Peak, Shape of Water and Frankentstein whereas Return to Silent Hill was by a guy who worked on the REC sequels.
unlabelledView post →🦋 Crimson Peak 🦋 I was so obsessed with this movie when it came out, I can't believe I didn't make a full illustration about it yet! I had so much fun doing this one #illustration
unlabelledView post →Last night I went to a very delightful event where Nightmare on Film Street hosts Jonathan and Kimmi were selling and signing this lil book. So to try it out, I made their Beware Crimson Peak based on @realgdt.bsky.social ‘s 2015 film Crimson Peak!
unlabelledView post →Crimson Peak is an absolutely stellar Gothic Romance and a fucking horrible horror movie but it was never meant to be a horror movie and the marketing team screwed it by setting incorrect expectations.
unlabelledView post →The line of @realgdt.bsky.social movie figures from NECA is still one of the best collections they’ve released. I do wish we had gotten a few more films and shows added. Crimson Peak, The Strain, and Mimic would have all yielded some tea fun figures.
unlabelledView post →Painting her was so much fun! I really need to rewatch the movie. 🦋 #ArtSky #Art #DigitalArt #Fanart #CrimsonPeak
unlabelledView post →Rewatched Crimson Peak for the first time since it came out and it’s fun that Guillermo Del Toro made a film that was basically like “capitalists are so fucking weird and will literally kill and exploit and stain the earth red to hold onto any power they have.” plus you see tom hiddleston’s butt
unlabelledView post →Here's a video of me asking Tom HIddleston about incest (in the movie Crimson Peak) www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvT9...
unlabelledView post →" Ghosts are real, this much I know " A very sketchy crimson peak colour study, I wish more horror movies used vibrant and intense colours like this one, when done well they can make a film so much more memorable and interesting. #crimsonpeak #art #colorstudy #digitalart #horror
unlabelledView post →Crimson Peak (2015) is a good movie because it makes me wanna walk around a gothic mansion with a candlestick #filmsky #horror
unlabelledView post →tonight's movie night with friends: CRIMSON PEAK.
unlabelledView post →Friday night we went to see FRANKENSTEIN at one of my favorite local theaters. I felt like the movie was another solid installation of the GDT realm, covering much of the same material as CRIMSON PEAK & THE SHAPE OF WATER, with many echoes of the visual systems he's created across his career.
unlabelledView post →Oh man, I haven’t loved a Guillermo Del Toro film this much since Crimson Peak.
unlabelledView post →somehow I didn’t see Crimson Peak until now which is frankly incredible given how much this movie is For Me. Please note, I watched The Haunting on repeat as a child and it made me who I am.
unlabelledView post →CRIMSON PEAK THE BEST MOVIE IN THE WORLD I LOVE YOU 🙏🙏🙏
unlabelledView post →In keeping with the tradition of telling ghost stories at Christmas I'm counting Crimson Peak as a Christmas movie.
unlabelledView post →Tonight, we showed Crimson Peak to a literally sold-out crowd at Stray Cat Film Center. When the guy said, "In America, we bank on effort, not privilege," the entire theater cracked the fuck up.
unlabelledView post →Nightmare Alley (2021). Like Crimson Peak (2015), it will get "rediscovered" 15 years from now. A gorgeous film, trembling with a death drive and rich wood paneled rooms. It makes me smile to see the Del Toro repertory players pop up in small parts, like Jim Beaver in a memorable scene as a sheriff.
unlabelledView post →Crimson Peak is a criminally under-rated movie, and this looks to have a whole lot of CP's visual DNA.
unlabelledView post →#LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWarched #Letterboxd #filmsky Blue Moon (2025) Crimson Peak (2015) Le Samouraï (1967) I've Heard the Mermaids Singing (1987)
unlabelledView post →FRANKENSTEIN is so damn good!!!!!!!! Beautiful, elegant, and soulful. I loved every second. A few more watches and it might unseat CRIMSON PEAK as my favorite GDT film. Time will tell...
unlabelledView post →Crimson Peak is one of my fav spooky movies and I really enjoyed recreating Edith’s finale nightgown. I’d love to make another Edith costume one of these days, every costume from that movie is just so good. #crimsonpeak #cosplay
unlabelledView post →I watched Jane Eyre (2011) last night. The movie was fine, definitely made more interested in reading the books. But also made me realize how much Crimson Peak was Guillermo Del Toro's take on Jane Eyre specifically lol.
unlabelledView post →Remember when CRIMSON PEAK got a lot of bad reviews because the studio promoted it as a horror film but what del Toro gave us was a dark gothic romance? That's what worries me about FRANKENSTEIN. I have a feeling it's more gothic than horror. Will the studios fuck that up again?
unlabelledView post →You've inherited a movie theater, what's your first double feature? (Everyone knows I 🖤 Crimson Peak w/ my whole being but if you haven't seen Spanish-language film El Orfanato, directed by J. A. Bayona & you like ghost stories, watch it immediately. Hard not to put The Others on here too, though)
unlabelledView post →Picking a random film from my collection to show off for no real reason! Day #210 "Crimson Peak" (Guillermo del Toro/2015) GdT's wonderfully gothic ghost story. Rich atmosphere that reminds me of the old Corman AIP Poe films. The Arrow limited edition release of this title is stellar! Check it out.
unlabelledView post →Day 30, #Junesploitation - Italian Horror! We end the month with some Bava. Because of course we do. Have you seen this? The only Gothic horror film that's more beautiful than this one is probably CRIMSON PEAK and that is it. This is the sort of situation we have here. So watch it if you haven't!
unlabelledView post →Crimson Peak... WHAT A MOVIE (I may rewatch it tomorrow because it's spooky but not too spooky for my weenie ass. God I love that movie!! Being in the theaters for the incest reveal was HILARIOUS everyone was SHOCKED!!)
unlabelledView post →8. Allerdale Hall, Crimson Peak. "Slippy, the house isn't a char--" Yes it is. It's the best character in a movie full of perfect characters. On this one I am not open to debate.
unlabelledView post →everytime i hear about someone complaining about how awkward and awful it is to watch a movie with a sex scene in it with your parents, i remember the time my sister and i went to see Crimson Peak in the theater together.
unlabelledView post →Watching CRIMSON PEAK and wishing once again that there was a good film adaptation of Angela Carter’s The Bloody Chamber
unlabelledView post →Crimson Peak is a Christmas movie right
unlabelledView post →Tonight's film is... Crimson Peak (2015) I remember it's pretty but lots of moths on light bulbs and so much indoor snow and water. It's not my fave, but anything for #TransformationsoftheGothic
unlabelledView post →I think...Crimson Peak has become my favorite horror movie. It checks a lot of my boxes.
unlabelledView post →just finished Frankenstein in theaters— I have SO MANY THOUGHTS!!! but primarily GDT’s style fits soooo well with gothic horror (prev evidenced by Crimson Peak!) and the movie was very very beautiful!

unlabelledView post →Crimson Peak. The setting was so immersive for me that I was momentarily surprised to leave the movie theater and not see snow on the ground. Gorgeous costuming.
unlabelledView post →#HorrorWritersChat I think SINNERS is one of the most incredible films ever made & will be regarded as historic in its cultural importance. Of course, if I could freshly experience @realgdt.bsky.social's CRIMSON PEAK again & again, I would. As a goth & Gothic novelist, I consider it a perfect film.

unlabelledView post →Del Toro really nails gothic horror. This film is a great companion piece to Crimson Peak. I also am glad to see him treat the film with sincerity. Some might find it cheesy at times, but I thought it was refreshing in these harshly cynical times. See it in cinemas this week if you can!
unlabelledView post →There are moments where I am struck by the realization that, for my sensibilities, CRIMSON PEAK might just be the most visually ravishing & gorgeous film I have ever seen. I can even tell you when these moments occur: every single time I watch the movie, without fail
unlabelledView post →156. The Devil's Backbone (dir. Del Toro, 2001). Del Toro loved that unique effect for his ghosts in this film he'd later recycle the same aesthetic for Crimson Peak. Some might call it laziness, I call it a recurring leitmotif.

unlabelledView post →If have never seen Crimson Peak, is it an extraordinary experience by Guillermo de Toro. The ultimate Gothic film, which in many ways resembles visually his Frankenstein, as well as pays tribute to Corben and Wrightson. It’s a must-see. @realgdt.bsky.social @guydavisart.bsky.social
unlabelledView post →Crimson Peak is my favorite Del Toro film and this write up help explained to me why. There's tears on my face. Well done.
unlabelledView post →I am about to have a horrorgasm here, because this is my thing. I am me, and write gothic horror that is often historical. Most of my fiction has historical elements. The Castle of Otranto, Horace Walpole. "The Bloody Chamber," Angela Carter "Crimson Peak" (movie, but sue me) #HorrorWritersChat
unlabelledView post →Anyway, I will never accept any Crimson Peak slander and if the success of Frankenstein is what it takes for that movie to be reappraised, then GOOD
unlabelledView post →Its not bad by any means, it's a beautiful film, but agaisnt films like Crimson Peak, Devil's Backbone and Shape of Water its definitely not his best. I wonder what it would have looked like if Netflix wasnt the distributor...how much more practical we could have gotten.
unlabelledView post →Next film I'm watching is also a vampire movie, Cronos by Guillermo Del Toro that just FINALLY came out in France in this absolutly beautiful edition (And I bought a second version of Crimson Peak while I was at it because it's my fav Del Toro movie so I wanted the 4K collector)

unlabelledView post →Watched Crimson Peak with the teenagers 2 nights ago. It is a fantastic and underrated film - visually gorgeous, and quite propulsive. You just have to lean into the proliferation of gothic tropes and enjoy del Toro's complete commitment: he takes his material seriously, himself not at all.

unlabelledView post →Crimson Peak This is a movie I don't feel the need to defend to anyone; it's the rare movie that feels like it was made just for me.
unlabelledView post →Crimson Peak Inktober sketch from a few years ago that I liked, so I threw colour and a title on it and boom, it's now a movie poster.
unlabelledView post →I don't think I'll ever understand why Crimson Peak isn't more beloved. That movie is knock out gorgeous, a fantastic 'ghost story' for the grey seasons, venomous toward the aristocracy, and has one of my favorite film scores ever.
unlabelledView post →Alongside all the 50s B movies we've been watching, I rewatched CRIMSON PEAK last night. What a truly fabulous movie that is!
unlabelledView post →TONIGHT! It may not be very cold in Kansas City, but we can still give you a chill if you join us for a FREE screening of Crimson Peak at the Stray Cat Film Center.
