Game has promise and plays well but has a fatal flaw. The end boss is structured completely differently from the rest of the game. To be specific: every other boss pauses the timer and you fight them, then the timer begins counting down again. The final boss instead gives you a timer that just kills you after it elapses. So if your build isn't capable of ultra fast killing a single target it won't work. Builds and playstyle that work on the rest of the game will never be able to complete that…

The game is just completely unbalanced against the player in a unfun way. I am pretty sure that viable builds are basically limited to only one or two classes and one set of abilities. If you don't use those specific builds the bosses will be so tanky that even if you are skilled enough to beat them you'll have spend between 5 to 10 or MORE minutes chipping away at single mob. Honestly what is going on with this game? I can kill everything else in under a second but the bosses take FOREVER…

If Halls of Torment is Diablo, then Conquest Dark is Path of Exile: several dozen different systems that you need to interact individually to reach the same purpose, becoming a little bit stronger. It plays very nicely, probably one of the best Vampire Survivor-likes I have played. It has a rather unique system with class mixing that decides which upgrades you can find in a run that I found interesting. The Path of Exile comparison isn't just for saying, this game has a LOT of different…

This game problem is being unnecessarily grindy and unrewarding. it has no way to speed up the rounds nor the enemy speed or increase the density. you got 45 minute session? too bad you have to wait it out even if you're stronger than your enemies, just gotta wait min by min until the timer runs out.

This is a $15AUD Early Access game by a Solo Dev. I have got 30 hours and enjoyed all of it. I have almost done everything. If you see that price tag and expect AAA live service level of updated then you should smash your head into the wall.

Almost good, but the dodge this or die markers are super subtle and hard to see when there isn't a horde around you... which there always is. Oh and most of the markers are on the ground so they go under the horde. Further I had one game where the boss spawned red markers, but was in a ritual where the whole map was tinged red, near impossible to see on a clear screen, which this game never has. It's really bad. Its a fun take on the survivors formula, and if the dodge or die was remotely…

The gravest sind a game can commit is to be boring and generic. You can have a silly story, bad voice acting or janky gameplay, but being boring and generic, nothing saves you from that. The indie scene, unfortunately, can be just as ♥♥♥♥♥♥ as the AAA space, with this being a prime example of another very mobile-y looking clone game in the "survivors" genre. It's Early Access, sure, but it's not the lack of features or skills, etc., it's foundationally flawed. You know what I like about…

This is one of the worst bullet hells. I am a huge bullet hell fiend but this one is so bad i really cannot recommend it to anyone. (and this is made by asmongold's guys? he would be very dissappointed too if he played it *(. it's very very small so you are forced to grind the same stage over and over for no real goal. save your 10 bucks and buy a blowup hammer and smash yourself in the head over and over - it'll be more fun lol

This game is so unbalanced that i really can't recommend it to anyone. I'll give you a hint: there's very often a situation when you can't kill enemies 'cause you don't deal enough damage and at the same time enemies can't kill you 'cause you're too quick or too well protected! This is complete stalemate! And there are so many more things like this! Keep your money for something better (Vampire Survivors or Deep Rock Galactic Survival).

The main thing that Conquest Dark does differently than the rest of the genre is how it limits upgrade choices based on your character's proficiencies and equipment. This results in an elegant way to avoid the pitfall that many other survivors-like games fall into, where unlocking new equipment makes things feel worse because of how they'll dilute your future runs' upgrade pool. The total variety of upgrades isn't massive, but each class feels distinct, and each primary weapon's limitations…

Get through that slog? Awesome! Now lets not have anything other than what you played through prior but with a couple new abilities & weapon that are all random. Yes you can build for certain ability unlocks but that is leaving the realm of fun and into a chore. But the build builder! If I have to make a spreadsheet for…

Lamest possible RNG in an arpg. No way to change gear after your selection so the meta is to run around naked on the off-chance you find something of high rarity with perfect stats. If you don't your run is bricked and you start over. I don't get it.

Way too easy to accidentally turn on autobuilds now. It;s an interesting feature to explore things you wouldn't have tried otherwise but building is like...90 percent of these games. And once you turn it on it goes so fast there's no way to turn it off. So ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumb. Have an option for "suggested" instead of the game picking so fast you can't even see it. This used to be fun.

Honestly, the best “survivor-like” game I've ever played. I don't like spending long minutes traveling across the map to collect important items or being forced to make compromises. None of that here. The pace is good, there's no (or very little) feeling of a slow and boring start to the run like in other games, or of wanting enemies to appear faster. The only negative is perhaps the “final” boss, which not only breaks (in a bad way) the habit that the game has established up to that point,…

I'm changing my review to negative... After 7 hours I'm quite disappointed. First of all, there are major meta progression upgrades for each spell in the game, meaning you have to pull back on difficulty if you want to try a new build or grind with one build until you can upgrade another. That is the single most unfun aspect of this game. You are not allowed to explore build diversity whatsoever. Upgrading skills the final time costs an inordinate amount of the rarest currency. It's fine, but there are probably better uses for your time. Combat is very repetitive; all your build decisions are made at the very start of a run, out of a fairly small pool of options that you have pretty good control over. So you can pretty much always land on exactly what you want. You only really have 4 meaningful choices during a run: weapon, main ability, passive and dash. You can slot runes in to change these effects, but you chose your runes from the whole pool, so there's no…

Has the biggest potential for insanity among horde survivors. You can become actually immortal, as in, the game can't kill you through regular means anymore no matter what it throws at you, no matter how big the numbers. I just had a ritual that lasted for FOUR HOURS because I was only slightly more immortal than the bosses I spawned. I just let the game run while doing other things. Really fun, more possibilities than its competition, with very meaningful meta-progression unlocks.

Like a lot of games in this genre, your enjoyment will really come down to choices in build variety and long term progression. This game has a lacking feel in both. Builds seem potentially quite varied, until you realise that certain items/spells are just always the best choice for that particular class, so why go for anything else, the game doesn't really support experimenting because many of your choices are just sub-optimal compared to the one good one. As for progression most upgrades are…

What is there, is fun. I love the low fantasy setting and the variety of playstyles, classes, etc. Wanna have fun for half an hour and hack'n slay some monsters? Check.
