Coneheads
A pair of aliens arrive on Earth to prepare for invasion, but crash instead. With enormous cone-shaped heads, robotlike walks and an appetite for toilet paper, aliens Beldar and Prymatt don't exactly blend in with the population of Paramus, N.J. But for some reason, everyone believes them when they say they're from France. From TMDB

60 of 145 · most liked firstI rewatched The Coneheads for the first time since it was released on home video in 1993. As ridiculous as this movie is, it's so interesting watching it as an adult. It's a completely different movie. My interpretation of this movie when I was 10 years old was "ha ha funny alien people". Thats it.

unlabelledView post →Coneheads wasn’t going to be a big enough movie to get a look from McDonald’s or Burger King, but thankfully Subway stepped up the the plate with this incredible cup (1993)
unlabelledView post →Coneheads is an underrated movie.

unlabelledView post →In what was either pure kismet or cynical, calculated synergy, Crackups were shaped just like the easily recognizable head-shape of the Coneheads characters who *gasp* just so happened to have a big summertime movie release at the exact same time, so a crossover promotion was inevitable
unlabelledView post →According to my anecdotal YouTube autoplay evidence, the "CONEHEADS" movie is apparently back in the pop-zeitgeist (somehow?) and it's *shocking* to recall that ENTIRE movie is a poptimist/sentimental sitcom about how illegal immigration is great and good for America. Amazing time capsule.

unlabelledView post →Also Coneheads is the most beautiful movie about the American Dream and largely predicts Trump’s America.

unlabelledView post →Maybe they're worried someone with the last remaining copy of the Coneheads movie soundtrack will hear their cover of Fight the Power and get pissy.
unlabelledView post →I really dig this cover of THE CONEHEADS comic book, which was released sometime after the unsuccessful '90s film. Art by MAD magazine's Tom Richmond and Jimmy Palmiotti. The interior art by Richmond and Marie Severin, with writer Terry Collins on the script, was fun as well. #SNL
unlabelledView post →Fuck Harry Potter. Go watch the Coneheads movie instead
unlabelledView post →Coneheads is a far better movie than it had any right to be.
unlabelledView post →Coneheads remains peerless among the SNL film ouvre.
unlabelledView post →Thinking about how when I was a teen, they made an entire movie based on the SNL skit Coneheads.
unlabelledView post →Unrelated but related: When the Coneheads movie came out there was a corresponding book released that featured a page about Remulakian anatomy and it included a full frontal rendering of a Remulakian man. I assume Dan Aykroyd provided artistic direction. Search at your own risk.

unlabelledView post →Watching ‘Coneheads’ and I realized there’s a scene that plays ‘Kodachrome.’ I wonder if Dan Aykroyd was miffed they used a Paul Simon song in this movie. You know, since Carrie Fischer left Aykroyd to get back w her ex Simon. Silly, I know. But I just realized this tonight and now I’m wondering.
unlabelledView post →#LastFourWatched Omar Sharif in Lawrence of Arabia is all time, what a film. Coneheads is still funny, so weird and goofy, and a critique of immigration enforcement! Special Effects was mid but interesting. And finally Cure is one I’m gonna need to rewatch. It was excellent. #LetterboxdFriday
unlabelledView post →Watched Coneheads. It was good and great for it's time. It is a bit cliche but that is a product of it's time. Oh yeah also gonna make a Letterboxd to motivate me to watch more movies. Be prepared for a Minecraft Movie, Coneheads and K-Pop Demon Hunters review.

unlabelledView post →Coneheads (1993) is playing on PLUTOTV, yes! I unapologetically love this movie. 🤘🏼📺🍿
unlabelledView post →Seriously though, the Coneheads movie has no right to be as funny as it is. And anything that gives Jane Curtin more screen time should be celebrated.
unlabelledView post →if you like analyzing the politics of movies and have not watched Coneheads with an eye for the political i recommend it because the movie is simultaneously about immigration being a positive thing but also America being the ultimate meritocracy where hard work and brains means you WILL succeed

The triple rows of shark teeth, the fact that nobody questions the oddly shaped foreheads. I'd watch it again sometime ! 😆
