unlabelledView post →The best part about this is I know half of you are going to devolve into fights about what other movie is really his best, but it's COLLATERAL. Absolutely flawless film. Whereas HEAT, as much as I love it, has this scene:

unlabelledView post →Older films shot on digital when it was new looks great because of this. Movies like Hana and Alice or Collateral, they chose the specific digital cameras they wanted for that movie and liked how the footage looked through them, so they didn't bukkake the entire footage with post processing
unlabelledView post →Collateral: In a film all about the random nature of existence, I love that Max realises that he hasn’t got a chance in a gunfight with a professional killer. So he decides to just shut his eyes & keep shooting. Vincent taught him too well.
unlabelledView post →It sort of reminds me of Collateral, another film I wish I could watch again for the first time.

unlabelledView post →By the way Arnold Schwarzenegger’s assessment of Mr. Freeze’s one weakness — love — was correct. Indeed, Arnold’s weakness in ALL his movies made during that period was love. (End of Days, Collateral Damage, etc.) Because he is a great film artist whose movies tell a cohesive story across decades.
unlabelledView post →This skeet brought to you by me finishing COLLATERAL God what a movie
unlabelledView post →goddamn the first 3 minutes of 'Collateral' are peak cinema, sets up the dynamic of the whole movie without making a single direct statement, tells you everything you need to know about the setting and the characters, just WOW

unlabelledView post →It’s been frequently noted, but “Heat” is a movie about liminal spaces - places between places. It begins at a Los Angeles metro station (see also: “Collateral”) and ends at an airport. There’s a shoot in a drive-in movie theatre carpark. Hanna and McCauley meet on a highway.
unlabelledView post →last night I watched Collateral for the first time wow I loved that movie wow! but why did they make Tom Cruise look like assassin Paul Hollywood
unlabelledView post →#NowWatching COLLATERAL (2004). Director: Michael Mann. Tom Cruise, Jamie Foxx. Mann's exploration of Los Angeles after dark is less sexy, more murdery than you might imagine. Rewatch. #filmsky 📽
unlabelledView post →The best Michael Mann movie is either MANHUTNER (1986) or COLLATERAL (2004), imo, but it's a competitive field
unlabelledView post →Re-watched Collateral (2004) recently, solid thriller. Interesting how Jason Statham has a 30 second cameo right at the start of the film. Wonder why they cast him for that.
unlabelledView post →That movie is somehow very good and very bad at the same time. Not like Collateral, which was very good and then very bad. Here it’s happening simultaneously.
unlabelledView post →If you love stylish Michael Mann LA crime dramas like Collateral and Heat, I would highly recommend watching the newish flick "Crime 101," which is now streaming on Amazon.
unlabelledView post →Hot take. HEAT, MIAMI VICE, and COLLATERAL are all fine movies, but they don't hold a candle to Mann's earlier work in THIEF or MANHUNTER. I respect that he wanted to experiment with digital, but his lighting and colour choices just look best on film, no question. Also, they are just better films.
unlabelledView post →Tom Cruise nailed it in the movie. He should do more villains. Vincent in Collateral is another good example.
unlabelledView post →Post a movie you feel isn’t discussed enough. Collateral (2004) It's a masterpiece and I've never heard anyone besides myself talk about it or even bring it up. It's like the movie never existed. #filmsky #moviesky

unlabelledView post →Michael Mann's COLLATERAL is a sneaky masterpiece. It's an arthouse film disguised as a sort of identikit action picture. It's the only film I have ever seen where I managed to forget that I was watching Tom Cruise. It also has a superb, sly joke involving a Jason Statham cameo.
unlabelledView post →Collateral, Michael Mann’s film about a contract killer (Tom Cruise) carrying out hits along with the driver of a cab (Jamie Foxx) he has commandeered. Foxx’s cab driver’s unrealised idealism has a great tension with Cruise’s nihilistic “man-of-action” outlook. Visually impressive too.
unlabelledView post →It's never officially used in the actual movie, but Tom Cruise's character name in Collateral is "Vincent Collateral." That's enough to push that from a five-star movie to a six-star movie in my book. 20 out of 10. No notes needed, no notes given.
