positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It may have left modern conveniences back in 2004, but there is still something irresistibly absorbing about building transport networks and watching goods move, cities grow, and industry click into place.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →golden classic, PLEASE MAKE A REMASTERED UPDATED ENGINE VERSION I WLL PAYYYYY
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chris Sawyer's Locomotion is the guy behind RollerCoaster Tycoon doing transport logistics instead of coasters, and it's got that same obsessive, chunky, slightly janky charm. Build rail, road, water, and air networks from the 1800s onward, wrestling with gradients, junctions, and timetables that never quite behave the way you planned. It's not flashy, the UI shows its age and the tutorial barely exists, but there's real depth in the track-laying and terraforming, and the isometric sprite art…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An underrated gem from the creator of RollerCoaster Tycoon, and now it's time to give it some love. Chris Sawyer's Locomotion is a game from the eponymous creator of RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 and 2, and spiritual successor to Transport Tycoon. While those three games are regarded as legendary PC games for the system, this game ended up being very underrated and overlooked at launch because it simply came out too late for its own good. Despite being 5 years younger than it, the game aesthetically…

This version is without patch, so you will find your vehicles choose the wrong way when running through a junction. Also the original patch for the CD version cannot be installed into Steam version. Nice game though. It would be better if it has a workshop, or able to edit the vanilla vehicles…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Locomotion should be next Transport Tycoon Deluxe game, but eventually failed, because it could not compete with TTDPatch on release and later on with OpenTTD. Overall Locomotion is a OK game, with better graphics compared to previous title but it runs bad on modern PCs with crashes and bugs. But there is some good news. Community is working on similar project as OpenTTD, but for Locomotion. So now you can experience enhanced Locomotion with modern Win OS support, fixed bugs and much much more!…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →20 years later, and if you haven't played this game already it's worth grabbing and doing a Google search for the OpenLoco community project. Also check out the Transport Tycoon forums for an extremely friendly community and modding help.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're familiar with openTTD and openRCT2, there is a openLoco in the works too
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My all time favorite game right here. Fun Fact: I still have my CD copy of this game that I purchases at a book fair back in middle school.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was supposed to be an improvement over Transport Tycoon Deluxe but it came out way too late for what it brought to be a success, and as of today there is Open TTD out there so the only reason to play this is for nostalgic purposes or personal research to see how it was.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →* I personally love it, this game has a lot to offer and never fail to surprise me. * You have a lot o possibilities and you can pretty much build any route, any way you want as ( as long you have money ). * How cities grow and evolve is just amazing. * You are forced to know and prioritize the industries which are more profitable as you start the game but it helps in late game. * The music is just on point. * It crashes quite a lot so be aware and save sometimes. * This…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brilliant game, one of my all time favourites. However, it does have a tendency to crash suddenly and without warning which will corrupt your save file and force you to restart a scenario. If this wasn't the case, it would be in my top 5 all time games. It doesn't stop it from being an absolute gem of a game though!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was my childhood, along with the wacky mobile port they made and released as "Transport Tycoon". Like the games prior, it really was coded in assembly, which makes it run fast but it's incredibly unstable on even relatively new machines. An open-source remake exists, called OpenLoco, which like OpenTTD runs much better but it's still a WIP so you need to buy this game for it to work.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →trains are cool
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →unpopular opinion- might be better than RCT
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely a fun program. Wishing for a redo of the graphics to match newer PC.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THIS GAME! I WAS RAISED WITH THIS GAME! It helped me develop my love for trains and for transport development. The graphics still holds up with amazing sprite work. Please, give it a try and let this gem bring you back in time to a easier time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still super fun 20 years later. Save often though, it's a bit unstable. there's a bunch of GP30 mods for it so I kinda have to rate it highly anyway.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are looking for a simple Transport Tycoon clone. This one is even better. A timeless classic to be sure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game at a bookfair in middle school back in my childhood, now i can relive that childhood feeling since this game is on steam.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An objectively worse version of OpenTTD, which you can get for free. Too unrefined for modern standards. Also, ALT+TAB won't work and made my whole system unresponsive.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fantastic. I'm a huge fan of RollerCoaster Tycoon but I could never get into Transport Tycoon because of how different the two games played. This game is essentially Transport Tycoon but it plays extremely similarly to RollerCoaster Tycoon. I've spent 18 hours on this game already and I think I'm going to be spending a lot more on it in the future. For how cheap you can get this game during a sale, I recommend you a least give it a try with OpenLoco, the open source…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A tactical game to achieve passenger numbers, or freight.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember playing this as a kid sitting next to my great grandpa while he played solitaire on his computer.... good times. loved it then, love it now. so simple. #areyouwinningson
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its just a master piece
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great classic transport sim, would highly recommend playing with Openloco as well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been playing this game since I was a wee lad. If you got train autism this game is for you. Wish there was more ways to spend my money other than more vehicles and buying industries.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's from Chris Sawyer and its cheap, whats not to love?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chris Sawyer’s Locomotion, developed by Chris Sawyer and published by Atari, is a game that builds on the legacy of Transport Tycoon while attempting to expand its ambitions. At its heart, it is a transport management simulator where the player constructs and oversees a vast network of railways, roads, shipping lanes, and air routes, all with the goal of moving people and goods efficiently across a growing landscape. The premise is deceptively simple, but the complexity emerges through the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game because of MONEY, but I would also like it (if it already exists) a feature to Assassinate or put it another way 'remove' competitors since they annoy me at times but aside from that I love it (the game and the money you can make in-game but mainly the latter) :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →reminds me of childhood
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After years of playing OTTD, the quality of life improvements it has makes Locomotion really dated. It's way too hard to upgrade roads, can't clone vehicles, etc. Fun, but needed better UI, even for 2004. Works on Steam Deck, just change the resolution and grab a mouse.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mean, its pretty much modernized TTD. The mechanics, graphics, or engine haven't changed. There's no multiplayer and this feels more like a re-released more polished TTD. If i played this on release after waiting 10 years since TTD just to get the same game i would be pretty pissed, but i personally cant get enough of a Chris Sawyer game. At the end of the day, you will just not be bored.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved this game and hated I could not play it any longer because it would not load on my current PC. So I paid the 5 bucks thinks I could play again. Nope! the game will not play from steam. You can download a free version that doesnt work like the version but never the less short of works. The free version has support and updates. The steam version doesn't. Save yourself the 5 bucks and dont buy from steam. I would feel better if I could get my money back but that doesnt seem to be an option.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a classic and everybody should play it. If you like tycoon games, you'll love it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Remaster this game Atari PLEASE - This game is hard and it does not help you with learning it. 1 out of 5 stars ---- I bought this game after playing through Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 and 2. (RCT for short) I saw Chris Sawyer's name and wanted to play another one of his games. Thankfully Steam had priced at a fun amount so it was worth getting for the collection building. I spent 13 hours trying to get comfortable with the game like in RCT 1 & 2 and I could not find a reliable way of finding…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having played the original Transport Tycoon and Roller Coaster Tycoon games back in the early 1990's on my x386 I naturally migrated to Locomotion in the early 2000's and it soon became my favourite over Transport Tycoon. I've played these Chris Sawyer games for the best part of my life, even building a retro-PC dedicated to Locomotion and Roller Coaster Tycoon CD installs. When I noticed this title on Steam I instantly purchased. As the game goes it is exactly the same, with the addition of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very fun! i like it much more than transport tycoon deluxe :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't buy this game until a mod on smarter ai routing, Because you be dealing with nothing working, grid locks and trains crashing into each other more than actually building a rail network.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Classic as old as I am! A childhood favorite exactly as i remember it! Create transportation tycoons, build the world, and outperform competitors! If you love old computer games, particularly, by Chris sawyer, this is the game for you!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i put hundreds of hours into this game as a kid and i'm so happy to have it back.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game that I come back to every few months and play it obsessively as if it was brand new.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i wish it was a expanded multiplayer, and making connecting online easier..... but its a ok game i wish they would have made a part 3 , or ex[ansions like ths sims
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it is less advanced than transport tycoon in MHO but better mechanics
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Who decided to build roads like in Rollercoaster Tycoon? idiots... Original TT just a way to go (dosbox)!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →been playing since i picked it up at a book fair on a disk years back. amazing time killer and overall just fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good compte grame
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, a classic and very under-rated.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never gets old no matter how old it is!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game, it's time-killing, fun, and it shows what dieselisation was like in the 1960s. I prefer the steam locos myself. Lol
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved playing this game back in the day and it still holds up. Old school rct like graphics. simple but addictive gameplay
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love Locomotion and the Original Roller coaster Tycoon by Chris Sawyer. Only bad thing is there are no updates for either game. But, it is still fun to play and very easy to spend 5 hours playing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To start with, I simply can't give it a thumbs down, based on the fact that this is a game that I played so much as a young man . Today's Review (Not good): Well, I had this game when it came out ages ago, Loved it then and played most of the scenarios. Tried it again today after purchasing it.... I did not remember how clunky the building interface was :( It is painful especially after play hours of OpenTTD. The graphics are comparable to OpenTTD, the scenarios are fun, but the interface and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Get it on GOG. The Steam game files are NOT useable/moddable by modding tools like Locotool or the Wrapper for Locotool. OpenLoco seems to work, though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun Game, you make funny little train and make lots of money, Capitalism at its finest.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This quenches the tism.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tl;dr: Play Transport Tycoon (OpenTTD)! IMO basically just a light version of Transport Tycoon, with way worse controls. Building streets and tracks are a real pain in the ass. Hell, even "Tutorial 2" failed to connect the cities, lol. Why, when Tycoon already did it so much better before? Also here you sadly only have the English version, not the localized ones, like German or others. Also don't forget to download the Shinkansen Scenario from Chris Sawyers homepage!
