The game is filled to the brim with levels, secrets, entertaining diversions, and things to collect; many, many things to collect. Just playing a little over an hour, I found a jetpack, dived in a submarine, road through a racecourse full of jumps and half pikes, jumped across libraries, caves, castles, towers, and treasure rooms. And I haven't even scratched…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you want a highly polished platformer with a super sick movement kit? look elsewhere Do you want a silly platformer with janky movement that makes it easy to go places you aren't really supposed to? you will like this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →George is a wonderful character and his animation is a delight. The rattle when he shakes his head is wonderful. How can you resist? Castle in the Coast is the most playful 3D platformer that I've played in a long time. Within minutes you'll be somersaulting, bouncing on ropes, swimming and running up walls. The tutorial is short, snappy and mostly optional. Everything about the controls and level design is generous! It's so refreshing to play a 'retro' style game that doesn't punish the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring buggy game, I collected everything needed on the map but completing the level did not count.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An effective, charming 3D platform experience that is honestly one of the best on steam. I got to play this early thanks to the dev but in no way did that influence my opinion on it, it is genuinely a great experience you should check out for yourself. 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The next video essay is live! We're taking a deep dive into Castle on the Coast! 🦒🏰 An indie platformer that captured my heart last year and that has some interesting stories behind its development. Come learn about a game you ought to try too! www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEf9...
unlabelledView post →This is a wonderfully charming little game that plays similarly to Super Mario 64, albeit, more floaty in its controls. My daughter really enjoys exploring this game and has a ball climbing trees, rolling everywhere and wearing the various costumes. It's simple enough for kids and a nice relaxing, casual time for us adults looking for a change of pace. I can't recommend this game enough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate to leave a bad review for a game that otherwise has universal praise, but I can't say I enjoyed this one very much. I typically really like 3D platformers/collectathons. However, this one really just doesn't feel right, particularly in regards to the controls. The main jump is extremely floaty; this makes control very awkward, which is such an important element for a game like this. It only gets worse when the game tries to introduce cars, which control even worse. The music is also just…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FOUND THE KINDEST GIRAFFE IN THE WORLD Castle on the Coast is one of those games where you get super sweet and relaxing content for next to nothing on sale, with no hidden tricks. This is a classic 3D platformer in a family-friendly style, with really cartoonish graphics and a fairytale vibe. You play as a toy giraffe named George, who can’t talk but hilariously shakes his head and makes rustling bell sounds. The story has you trying to reach two wizards who locked themselves up on an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a cute game! Runs great on Steam Deck. A lot of fun to explore, and the platforming is super chill. Highly recommend if you enjoy 3D platformers and are looking for something a little different. (Super Mario Odyssey on Switch is one of my favorite games, 100+ hours into it, and I can see inspiration from that game here.) I know what you’re thinking. Castle on the Coast may look … janky … but I think the art direction is in the eye of the beholder. I think the game was created by/for a…

Send them on an adventure with a lovable giraffe! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nd47N8wMI-0 If you want to see gameplay and my first impressions as they happened, watch my video. Castle on the Coast puts you into the big-hearted giraffe George, mascot of the Valley Children's Hospital in California, and this game is all about freedom. Have you ever watched a Mario 64 speedrun and wished you could move like that? George can. The physics engine is…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Castle on the Coast is a platformer with a lot of collecting. You'll find something to pick up everywhere you look. The game is littered with flowers and glowing star keys. It's an open-world game so you can go wherever you want. Even better the movement mechanics are a pleasant surprise. Is Castle on the Coast kinda for children? Yeah, I think so. Because the movement system is so forgiving and if you play co-op it's even more kind. There are so many items to collect you could spend quite a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really fun, trippy game. I played the demo and waited for it to come out for awhile now. My favorite animal is the Giraffe so I couldn't pass it up. I highly recommend this game as it makes you want to explore and collect it all. There is a story with it and the cartoon 3d graphics are very colorful and friendly. Give it a go!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why is no one talking about this game!?!? Movement is buttery smooth, controls like a dream. It’s like acid trip mario. Just get it 9/10 my review scale : anything below 5/10 is bad - 6 /10 = fine - 7/10 = good - 8/10 = exactly what it's trying to be - 9/10 excellent - 10/10 perfect - 11/10 they went above and beyond - 12/10 keeps finding new levels of incredible -13/10 revolutionary stuff
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The kinds of platforming shenanigans you can pull off in Castle on the Coast never ceases to amazing me. (Oh yeah, this game is also going to be my next video essay topic!)
unlabelledView post →One of the best games I've ever played. I'm a huge fan of Indie 3D Platformers and this one is tons of fun. Don't let the childish appearance fool you. This is one of those games that are great for the young, and the young at heart. Kids can enjoy it on one level (running around, interacting with things, getting a little farther each time they play), and Adults can enjoy it on another level (appreciating the beautiful colorful visuals, beating the platforming challenges, and getting 100%). The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here's the thing. You can probably tell from the video and screenshots that this game is janky and amateurish. But friends, that is precisely it's charm. The controls are imprecise. The plot is like if you asked an 8-year-old to come up with a plot for a video game. So far this is sounding like a negative review but I assure you this game is worth your time. I promise this game will win your over if you open your heart to it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I could go either way on this, but I didn't enjoy it enough to want to play through the game. Dialogue seemed kiddyish at first but it's actually kind of amusing, i think intentionally. The world is very weird and I was entering one area, just to find myself sucked into a different place unexpectedly. This happened a lot. I prefer to feel more in control with a standard hub world like Mario 64/Sunshine or Banjo-Kazooie. It appears to have a few of these, but it's a little dizzying. I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →>Turn off invisible walls >Randomly explore the castle, get in a jet-powered car and I get launched out of bounds >I wall jump to the top of this tower >There are two random two wizards as a boss fight, they're weaksauce and get pwned >Accidentally beat the game >Have no idea what those kids in the ending cutscene are talking about Platforming on this game is actually fun and I love the option to turn off invisible walls. The controls are also good but George the Giraffe's power level is too…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A solid platformer with a lot of heart. Feels like a slightly heavier version of A Hat in Time but that's far from it's only inspiration. While some games are focused on a single mechanic and iterate on that, Castle on the Coast pulls bits and pieces from a bunch of different games. You have the double-jump and dive from A Hat in Time, the triple-jump from Mario 64, Crash Bandicoot's spin attack, there are Monkeyball sections, a Rocket League stunt park, a kid named Raziel and a statue that…

unlabelledView post →Very fun! Hits the spot for 3D Platformer Colectathon. Definitely one for the collection. If you like Paperklay, New Super Lucky's Tale or similar games in this genre then it is well worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly enjoyable, just like a playable child's story book. Our boy controls like a bouncy floaty ball. Just the act of jumping and exploring the world is fun. The sounds, music, all work together with the simple bright and colorful levels.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Floaty handling. Can pretty much climb anywhere with wall-kicks, so this is a pretty laidback & relaxed platformer. Cute game with fun personality. More to it than I anticipated. Unfortunately I found a rather game-breaking bug that killed my momentum. I left a boss arena without picking up the major key item (because I was not done exploring the immediate area), and the key item despawned with no apparent way to get it back so I seem to have soft-locked my save file. lmao
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very underrated platformer, deserves more sales, props to the dev. the good: -cool leveldesign, especially the ball and car level. -good music -jetpack -sometimes driving vehicles. -fun achievements involving climbing and going exploring out of boundaries through disabling invisible walls in settings. -im already more than half through the game and i can already say the platforming is fun, the collecting is fun. reminds me of super mario sunshine + crash bandicoot. the bad: -maybe my brain…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →GIRAFFE PARKOUR I bought this game at 80% off, and I don't regret it at all. I 100% the game, and here are my thoughts. Pros Story, Visuals and Sound An interesting backdrop with colorful yet surreal art design sets the mood of a fantastical setting with some anachronistic shenanigans like submarines and cars. At first, I was skeptical about the giraffe mascot character, but as absurd as the premise is, it somehow works because the entire setting is utterly bizarre and really makes you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very wholesome 3d platformer collectathon. excellent movement and controls. I am intensly disappointed that this game is not more popular it really deserves more attention I think. It was made in collaboration with valley children hospital, part of the money this game makes goes to the hospital.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kind of unique platformer Cool style Interesting co op World/Storyline immersive in a really light/pleasant way Should be more known than it is
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You play as THE giraffe. Fun little break from all the ultra serious games. Play this because it's worth it plus you support a hospital by purchasing this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shallow, uninspiring and no elements of challenge. No satisfaction derived from playing it and an extremely flat story.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great platformer, somehow short, even though the levels are really expansive. Must be because of how good the movement is, especially with the inclusion of a jetpack. It's completely optional, and it does trivialize most jumps, but it's satisfying to use and try to cut off major portions of the intended pathway. There are also submarines, cars, and balls (and squares) to ride on, each with their own physics mechanics to exploit. Apart from gameplay, there are wacky NPCs to talk to and an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just after starting the game, I went "ooh..." and "whoa!" and "ahh!" and laughed a lot. There's a great mix of free-form exploration and closed-off platforming gauntlets (reminiscent of Super Mario Sunshine and its secret caves). It's rare to feel both wonder and mechanical satisfaction in equal measure, but this game's got it! George is loose to control but in a beautiful, boisterous way. He can double jump, spin, dive, roll, wall jump, run up walls, and he carries momentum through all his…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Castle on the Coast is a fairly solid 3D platformer! I recommend it! Here's what you should know before buying though. VISUALS/DESIGN ------------------ As you can tell from trailers and screenshots, the visuals are incredibly simplistic, which I respect both for ease of development and also as almost a callback to retro styles. For some people though, lower poly graphics like this are a turnoff, so if that's you, then stylistically this isn't for you. I love the design of the castle itself…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was lucky enough to receive a code for this game before its release! Here's my first hour of gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sz_rwlhw0fM In short, Castle On The Coast is a charming game that wears its influences on its sleeve. Early on, you run into a frog statue that says "Improvise. Adapt. Overcome. Ribbit." I think this message pretty accurately describes my experience with the game. A lot of it is spent running through its worlds, which might initially give somewhat of a sense…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been looking forward to its release since i played the demo. The wait was worth it. Momentum preservation, animation cancels, even an option to turn off invisible walls. Speedruns of this are gonna be insane.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really wish I could buy this game's soundtrack
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My favorite little gem I came across perusing the 3D platformer tag. It is a game made with a lot of care and love in mind and is immensely fun to play even with it's easier difficulty. It does well to encourage exploration and movement is floaty allowing for all kinds of tricks. The game even encourages breaking itself with some of the achievements in it's repertoire. A fun and short time for all, I highly recommend to support a good cause!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Good: Fun platforming, lots of open areas to explore with lots of variety, collectibles satisfying to get, a well done parkour movement system, a nice art style, fun vehicle sections The Not-so Good: While not super short, could have probably been a bit longer, also could have had more bosses This is a good game, and probably one of the most underrated 3D platformers on steam. This one deserves more attention, and I hope more 3D platformers in the future have similar mechanics to this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game was very fun to 100%. Movement mechanics very really fun to use and the gameplay was really smooth.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BEST GIRAFFE GAME EVER (don't tell giraffe town I said that)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I made an outrageous sequence break thta led to the final area of the game for my curiosity for exploring and couldn't finish it because checkpoints couldn't let me return to the Hub, so needed to restart. Got the out of bounce achievment for that, tho haha! What a lovely game! I love George's design, and the environments are a blast! I enjoy visiting every part of the castle, and the portals' world is so psycholedic I didn't want to leave when finish them. Smooth gameplay!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →★★★★☆ (4/5) Castle on the Coast is a delightful platformer and short and sweet that didn't have me dreading 100%. The purpose and story of the game were very cute with moments that tug at your heartstrings. Overall a well-done platformer with enjoyable collectibles and good movement if that's your thing. If you enjoy exploring, collecting, and fun gameplay, this game is worth your time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →extremely cute little platformer that does not care a thing about difficulty and just wants ya to have a fun time. I was able to drive a rocket powered car as a giraffe in a suit of armor so it succeeded.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this instead of Elden Ring DLC, good times.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Local co-op really sucks hard! I bought the game because of the local co-op mode, which really is one of the absolute worst I've ever experienced. Player 1 has to be careful not to lose sight of player 2 the whole time. When the camera turns, player 2 is just somewhere in the middle of nowhere and is stuck on a wall or doesn't know where he's heading. It's annoying as hell. I don't even want to try the single player mode anymore.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A true underrated gem! At first, I thought this game looked easy and silly, so I assumed that I wouldn't enjoy it. However, it gives the player a lot of freedom and is a ton of fun to parkour around in. Also, I found the game very alluring and mystical and I didn't want to stop playing until I achieved 100%!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An extremely charming reasonably priced 3d platformer for both pros and casual gamers. Similar movement and jumping as super Mario 64 as well as an option to turn off invisible walls >:) Need i say more?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The player controller is incredible, and you can turn off invisible walls and just go where you want! I managed to glitch into the final boss and beat the game before I'd even done anything!!!! I live for this kind of game, 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A collectathon with controls and gameplay akin to Banjo Kazooie and Super Mario Sunshine. However it's very VERY floaty, you will be wrestling with the camera the whole time, and the asking price is too high for my tastes. I got this game for ~$1 and still wondering if I should have instead bought a spare copy of another game for a friend instead. Which is a shame, its a very PRETTY game, and something where even a few minutes can result in progress.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its cute, really short, works great on steam deck. not much more I could ask for, it also has a nice heartfelt story about friendship and mourning
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →wonderful, wonderful, wonderful little collectathon that surprised me with its mario 64 like movement scheme. like, the game gives you three jumps, a spin, a dive, an actual and infinite wall kick and some extra stuff to add to your moveset. on top of all of that, the levels are cute and inventive and the storyline is wholesome and has an actual moral to teach without speaking down to you. george is the cutest platformer protagonist since glover. go make some shark friends already.
