Has potential, but a lot of issues. Examples include the English translation not fitting inside text boxes, sometimes overlapping, etc, or the popups when interacting with various things being large enough to obscure meaningful portions of the screen (including the things you need to be using sometimes, it's not an uncommon experience to open something, fill in a few slots, then notice the last thing you need is directly underneath the popup so you have to move everything to the side and…

I'm torn. On the one hand, I love xianxia and cultivation stories. I also liked Cultist Simulator and Book of Hours, and the card-based crafting mechanics land well for a xianxia game. There's a compelling loop behind Card Cultivation. Unfortunately, the game has been released in an unfinished state. The English localization is terrible, the bugs are rampant, and only one of the planned four story mode characters is available. Perhaps the game will eventually be finished, but this really…

I'd give this a tentative recommend. On the one hand, It was much more than I was expecting. Especially at this price. This is a very solid game for anyone who likes wuxia. It's not a genre we see much of in the west and this does it well. I also really like Cultist Simulator, and this follows in a similair path, mechanically. That being said, I wouldn't recommend this to EVERY fan of Cultist Simulator. The translation still feels a little rough. Much better than I was expecting, and I've…

Initial Thoughts As bold as this is to say, I would consider Card Cultivation the stack style version of Skyrim because of the open world mechanics of the game build around traveling to different locations to do quests and fight monsters in dungeons. That said, it is in Early Access despite lacking the EA tag. With consistent bug fixes coming out every few hours since launch, so the developers are pretty focused on getting bugs resolved as they are found. So for what its worth, this is an…

I love this game. There are quite a few cultivation games around nowadays which focus on the active aspect of cultivation fantasy, but not many that properly handle the knowledge or resources aspect. Card cultivation does that very well with the gameplay features of exploring the world and creating cards via unique combinations. Of all the games I have played that take place in the xianxia setting, card cultivation lets you embody cultivation fantasy in the purest form without giving you a…

Soooooo.... i have finished the first story today. Still haven't seen like 4 secret realms, haven't fought any divine beast bosses or gotten my core over the 1st stage. Variety of gameplay and builds There is like 10 different weapon classes and all of them have 5 elemental types, each with different ability. You also have plenty of spirit beast to capture and develop, many of which have strategic skills and can be developed with special beast taming techniques. You yourself as a…

I'm a fan of Cultivator Simulator and the xianxia genre and this game merges the two together pretty well. It's fun to play and you have multiple paths of progression from martial, artifact control to just dumping toxic pills on enemies until they die. The game also doesn't hold your hand much and you have to figure stuff on your own and experiment which isn't that common in games nowadays.

Pretty decent game for this niche overall, but with a few rough spots. Solid 6/10 If you're lazy to read, here's my opinion: Wishlist for now, wait for results. Forget this game exists and maybe in a year or two come back to check its condition. Now for the review: This game needs to do at least two things to reach its full potential: - To solve the translation issue. If this is fixed, it becomes a solid 7+/10 for me. - To add missing content. This is easy to say, but depending on how much…

Fun and has potential, but many translations are still missing. The parts that are already translated are not that bad for a small studio, but they could be better if they found someone to help refining.

Good game in the same line as things like Cultist Simulator or Stacklands, but with a Cultivation twist. The English translations are a bit rough, but for a small team in EA, its not bad.

The Good: If you enjoy cultivation or card crafting like other titles such as Cult Simulator or Stacklands you will probably enjoy this game. One area this game really shines in is showing different cultivation methods: body temperting, pill refinery, beast taming just to name a few. They really feel very different in how they are represented and how they play, I would love to see this expanded on to add replayability. There is a guided story mode (only one character for now, more characters…

I like the game, it's a nice switch in mechanics from the usual cultivation games! Currently, late game content is still a bit lacking, but the developers continue to update the game, and I trust it will get there one day. I enjoy playing the free mode the most, it has a lot of freedom in character creation and can be played several times with different playthroughs and difficulties.

It's an interesting concept, looking forward how it would be developed into proper game. Cons: Translation bugs, quest system is a bit too much "hidden object" Crafting is a mess Can spam objects/beasts Inventory management is bad - need different sorting and separation by realms Pros: Potentially nice non-linear game Card concept for cultivation is a great fit

Pretty good cultivation game. Mechanics are similar to cultist simulator. It has a lot of depth and requires some planning. Just like in cultist simulator the game doesn't hold your hand, but it does provide gentle tips to guide you. Some functionality is still in work, but what's there has really good bones. Overall I'd say it's a blast and something I can see myself replaying.

I can recommend it somewhat, it's clear that there's still quite a lot of room for improvement, from the translation to QoL changes and clarifications for how to advance beyond the odd tip. It's nevertheless quite fun and pretty easy to get lost in playing it since there's plenty of ways to advance beyond just the realm, considering how the devs seem to be motivated in making this game better I've got great hopes for it.

honestly I think the game is very good and fun, plus the translations aren't that bad at all i'm assuming the people having trouble don't read much wuxian stuff. I will say the devs probably shoulda kept it in EA at least on release so people would know but the game is still very fun as of right now and is worth its current price. and with how little we actually get good or fun wuxia games id say this is worth having hope for. Since the devs seem to actually give a ♥♥♥♥ which is rare these days

Great game for fans of the Cultivation genre and/or card sims. Slowly uncovering all the rules of the game is a delight. English translation needs a little work but so far it has been easy to understand. I hope the devs continue to support and develop it, although it already feels fairly complete.

A game that fills the fantasy of being a cultivator in all those webnovels, while being coherent, understandable, and pretty fun. It has all the staples of the genre (cultivating - duh -, alchemy, spells, artifacts, animal companions, secret treasures, random fortuituous encounters, a bunch of other stuff), without feeling bloated or disjointed; the systems all tie into each other and/or are multipurpose (if you really don't have a use for something you can always sell it). This makes it so…

It's a good game with fun resource management and combat mechanics but there's a lot of polishing left to do. Some of the cultivation paths are either very hard to cultivate or very weak or both. - Spell casting relying on Qi means you only get to cast a few spells before you have to spam potions. - Alchemy relies on running the herb Nurturing and potion brewing (Refine) non-stop for every battle and is very weak early on, so it's hard to make it the primary path. - Artifact Refining and…

Great game made by a solid few with regular updates. Multiple ways of playing the game martial/artifact/spirit beast/puppets/summons/demonic. Ended up playing hardest difficulty no save scum after a few runs and made it to the end alive~ You will find many things you didn't find in your first 1-3 playthroughs so repeating it is worthwhile. Amazing Game There are many flaws with this game. - A.I Art - Really Bad Translations - Incomplete - Kind of Buggy - not very interactive (world doesn't feel very alive) - Many other things Yet, regardless of the flaws, I fell in love with the old school sink or swim gameplay. The game itself is not very difficult, but there is so many secrets hidden in the game that it really ends up capturing the feeling of a rouge cultivator. For example, let's say I want a specific skill or spell. Good…

Great mix of cultist simulator and an rpg cultivation game. The game progresses at your own pace, you're not really pushed to do much in a specific time though there are timed quests which are quite lenient. The map is a good size, so there's plenty to go around and explore. You have choices in how you want to progress your character, you can play as an evil cultivator by killing others and enhancing yourself or helping others. You can choose one or more combat cultivation paths,…

Just got to foundation establishment. The game does a great job of capturing what it's like to read cultivation novels. I really feel like I'm reading a novel where I'm in the control of the character. It's great. The one thing I'll say is that it's too easy. At least up until FE, there's no pressure at all. Lifespan is plentiful and enemies wait for you to come after them. I got to FE in 15 years with plenty of lifespan left, despite taking my time to upgrade a few weapons to yellow tier AND…

Have quite enjoyed what I played. The troubled start-up has me worried, since this game is very obviously an Early Access title without the mark. Content up through Golden Core is a grand start, but the expectation for a full and complete product will drag. At present, however, the game is more than worth the $15 price tag with the developer having released a roadmap for tackling many early concerns in the next three months. The time has arrived, the day has come, the thumb has shifted. If you're wondering what that's about: This was for quite a long time the 'most helpful' English review for Card Cultivation and it was negative. Emphasis on the past tense there. When this game first released, it was mistakenly not labeled as 'Early Access' (still isn't, but that's because you can take a game off EA, you can put it (back) on. Blame Valve for that.) even though it was. The English translation was also pretty much…

First, I played 7.9 hours of the demo and writing this review at 0.5 hours in the released game, so my review at the moment is mostly based on the demo. I will change it if I feel that it is necessary. Cultivation games that are playable in English have been few and far between. This one is a stacklands style game with a fairly broad sandbox to explore in the first couple cultivation levels, I have not gotten past this yet but it seems that it opens up even further. I have not noticed any…
