unlabelledView post →Still kinda offended that the evil super kid from Brightburn has my name. Just saying James Gunn. As a Superman fan, I feel attacked. 😤 … still hyped for the movie though. lol
unlabelledView post →To this day, I'll never get over how the movie Brightburn tried to make a super ominous symbol for the kid to leave at his crime scenes and it ended up just being the Brand of Sacrifice from Berserk.
unlabelledView post →Finally watched BRIGHTBURN. A great movie, held back from being brilliant by a couple of questionable decisions. Super dark though. Kinda loved it - but it made mistakes. You probably know what I mean if you’ve seen it.
unlabelledView post →I watched Brightburn tonight because I wanted to watch one of the movies of all time. It certainly filled that niche! I really wish people wouldn't hedge on good concepts; that felt like a fantastic idea for a movie marred by a poor script and too much emotional distance.
unlabelledView post →What if Nicolas Cage was Joseph the Carpenter? What if Young Jesus was Brightburn? What if the Infancy Gospel of Thomas was a horror movie? youtu.be/QzireEd9_qo?...
unlabelledView post →Watching Brightburn, and it is ironic that Terence Rosemore (who played the Coach) would go onto play a role in an actual Superman film (this time with James Gunn directing).
unlabelledView post →Having seen it, I thought it was generic and the main plot very villain of the week. Backstory/flashbacks were decent. Based on what they were going for in the trailer... They needed to mix it up, my pitch: An R rating, let her crush some skulls. Let her not be Superman. Think Brightburn. Let her have an arc. Break some spines, accidentally and on purpose. show her having trouble controlling her new found powers on yellow star systems, laser people in half, not having to grow up on earth like…
unlabelledView post →Remembering how in the movie, Brightburn, they had the villain kid making this mark and treating it like it was the most original crazy design ever ....It's the fucking Brand of Sacrifice from Berserk.
unlabelledView post →They did s Superman horror movie with 'Brightburn' they could do a sequel with Spider-Man. A gifted but bullied Teenager on a field trip gets bitten by an altered spider. A Cronenberg's 'The fly' level body horror begins as he desperately tries to understand what happened and stop it
unlabelledView post →New bonus movie commentary and it's Superman in their grub era! Even more-so than Zack Snyder's Justice League? It's Brightburn time with James & Maso on bigsandwich.co #superman #weeklyplanetpod
unlabelledView post →Watching the movie Brightburn for the first time tonight. Pretty damn good so far.
unlabelledView post →Brightburn is such a great idea. Superman but evil. But, I think the movie plays its hand much too early. Knowing the son is the antagonist so early is bold but ultimately flat. A slow reveal of the son’s power and malevolence would have been much more satisfying. Still a fun watch. 7/10
unlabelledView post →I haven't thought about it in a while, but "Brightburn" might be my favorite Superman movie. Sure it's flawed but it makes A LOT more sense than the traditional story.
unlabelledView post →#NowWatching Brightburn (2019) because Roy from The Office is in it, 15 mins in & he’s still just Roy but in a horror film lol
unlabelledView post →Brightburn. I haven't seen it (yet), but alternate universe where Superman becomes evil. Trailers showed him absolutely wrecking his classmates in anger and frustration.
unlabelledView post →'Brightburn 2'? The H Collective Is Actively Developing a Sequel. It’s now been four years since the release of David Yarovesky’s Brightburn, a horror take on Young Superman that was notably produced by James Gunn. The film told the origin story of super-villain Brandon Breyer, and it pulled in over $33 million worldwide on a $6 million production budget.

unlabelledView post →IGNORE the clickbait of the headline. This is a really salient, well-thought-out analysis of Gunn's take on Supes -- and how Gunn borrows an important plot point from his 2019 horror-hero film "Brightburn", and flips it on its ear.
unlabelledView post →Finally got around to watching Brightburn last night. A bit shorter and not as good as I was hoping for, but still enjoyed it.

unlabelledView post →#brightburn #filmmaking #behindthescenes🎬 Was pleasantly surprised how good this movie was. Best watched with no knowledge of what it’s about… Not just some horror flick. 🙌🙌🙌 2019
unlabelledView post →Fulfilled the Prophecy of Series September. Now a random movie or two before I go on to theme 2 of this month. Random movie 1: Brightburn from 2019. Directed by David Yarovesky figured this was a good time with the current Superman love. #Filmsky #Nowwatching #Moviesky #Horrorsky

unlabelledView post →This is a really good prompt, and it’s making me realize just how long it’s been since I got properly angry at a movie, especially a horror movie. The top ones off the top of my head are the Wicker Man remake, one of the Rob Zombie Halloweens, Halloween Kills, or maybe Brightburn.
unlabelledView post →If you're worried about them making a shitty horror movie when Superman is in the public domain; they already made that, it was called Brightburn.
unlabelledView post →I think Brightburn would’ve been better with any depth at all. But it’s really just a basic slasher movie.
unlabelledView post →Just watched Brightburn and liked it a lot Unfortunately there won’t be sequels due to rights being split up James Gunn being one of them, he should use his rich ass to buy out the rights and give them to his brother and cousin who wrote the movie
unlabelledView post →They should just make a Homelander movie then. Or a Brightburn sequel, a Sentry movie, an Invincible movie, ANOTHER Superman movie with General Zod... Oh wait, we have plenty of evil powerhouses. Looks like Superman's the subversion of a tired cliche.

unlabelledView post →You know, the more I think about it, I wouldn't say no to a Brightburn-esque superhero horror film following four people who slowly change in all kinds of horrific and unsettling ways after a freak accident and are taken to darker places than they ever prepared for. Would you want to see that?
unlabelledView post →I did, and I cannot stress how happy I am to see Superman treated as the Big Blue Boy Scout instead of some "Lonely God" edgelord. I also think, that your Superman film, bookended with Brightburn, is a superb example of how your media literacy is occasionally undersold by some.
unlabelledView post →I think I found the subreddit with the biggest “innocuous premise” to “demented membership” delta. r/brightburn, for fans of the 2020 movie Brightburn. Total wasteland. Not a single person with a working brain posting there.
unlabelledView post →Ah, now you thought I was talking about #Superman, didn’t ya? Well I’m actually talking about the 2019 horror movie, Brightburn. Yeah, this bonus bit of Superman isn’t actually an official Superman story at all. But it might as well be.

unlabelledView post →I mean I overall enjoyed Man of Steel, I saw it like three times. The trailer just showed a promise of a different movie. Even with the title Man of Steel, you know? Oh yeah, I'm a big Smallville fan! Some episodes to me were better than some movies and others were like X-Files junior. Brightburn looked amazing in the trailers but I heard the reviews were not great so I didn't bother. Maybe I'll keep an eye out and check it out now.
unlabelledView post →Honestly? I initially liked this film.... Then I saw how Kirkman & Co adapted Invincible as an animated series. That showed me ALL the flaws in Brightburn you pointed out Derek.
unlabelledView post →Sinners - Awesome movie, enjoyed it! Wunmi Mosaku is one of the most beautiful women alive! Brightburn - Wow, that really got to me in terms of horror and I didn't see it coming! Tron: Ares - Jared Leto? No thanks. Stopped watching. Before he popped up, I was like, huh, what's happening, now?!
unlabelledView post →Watching Brightburn which I always heard was mid but seemed interesting. Off the bat it’s shot like a student film and stars Elizabeth Banks (bad sign from 2016 onwards)
unlabelledView post →Just watched the movie Brightburn 😳
unlabelledView post →I don't like horror movies in general but I like horror movies based on turning innocent pre-existing characters into monsters Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 The Blood and Honey universe also has Peter Pan and Bambi movies out. Sadly I haven't gotten to watch them yet cause they didn't come to my local theatre I also like Brightburn (based on Superman) Recently watched The Mean One (based on the Grinch). It's pretty good Plan to watch Alice in…
unlabelledView post →I had this dream I can't stop thinking about. It was a few nights ago. On a tv screen, a man with a Russian accent stood on a stage and sang, "I will write a novel with a compelling plot, but you will not know any characters' thoughts". And then he used heat vision to crack someone's skull in the audience (probably because I watched Brightburn that day). Then the person watching the TV turned it off a googled "I saw a play in Italy", to try and get info about what they just saw.
