unlabelledView post →Bone Lake (2024) 6.0/10 A pretty slow buildup to a fun enough finale. For having such provocative marketing, the film is never really erotic or horrific enough to stand out. If it dared to go a bit further, it might have been more memorable. #HorrorSky #HorrorMovies

unlabelledView post →Bone Lake felt like a sleazy early 00s flick. That's a compliment! Enough gore & laughs here to keep things moving even if the outcome is 100% predictable. I'm shocked so many reviews said this was basically pornography horror. I have to question if we watched the same movie? It was pretty tame.

unlabelledView post →BONE LAKE (2025) is as much an erotic thriller as it is a horror movie. Some shades of Speak No Evil thrown in there for good measure. I had a great time with this one. Even if I was screaming at the screen the whole time in frustration at the protagonists. 😂👍

unlabelledView post →Finally. Film of the festival so far. Bone Lake. Wasn't tempted by the synopsis but it's an absolute blast. *Starts* with a full frontal shot of a naked man getting an arrow through the balls. 90's erotic thriller inspired but funny, twisty and great performances and direction. Really loved it.

unlabelledView post →Had an amazing time at @mayhemfilmfestival.bsky.social last weekend as ever. Highlights: Bone Lake (a twisty erotic thriller with great gore effects), Dead by Dawn (an inventive and very Polish neo-giallo) and Redux Redux (lo-fi sci-fi with a Terminator vibe), plus Bulk, Portal to Hell and Mag Mag.

unlabelledView post →I’m watching Bone Lake which didn’t seem all that appealing when I saw the trailer last year, but a naked guy gets shot through the ball sack with an arrow in the first 5 minutes of the movie so I may have been too hasty in my judgement.

unlabelledView post →I just started watching the movie Bone Lake and in less than 60 seconds somebody gets shot in the scrotum with an arrow. And then it takes about 5 more minutes to set up what I guess is the male protagonist as a big, baby man loser. Very efficient use of time.
