Looking over the update news-feed for Steam this year, and I'm kinda in awe of how many great games came out this year that I'd forgotten. Blazblue Entropy Effect left early access this year! Platform roguelike with characters from an Arcsys fighting game. store.steampowered.com/app/2273430/...

Another DLC character dropped for the increasingly excellent Blazblue Entropy Effect. And the next character after that will be free - The Beheaded from Dead Cells. They also recently added local co-op. Just a great action roguelike with real combat depth as most characters are from a fighting game

Looks like the big Blazblue Entropy Effect update rolled out this morning, integrating the two separate versions of the game. Fantastic game, by the by. Very fast paced roguelite platformer but with near fighting game depth to the combat, as it straight-up uses sprites from the fighting game series

I love this game whole heartedly. But the update unironically made it so unplayable. I get network crashes every-so-often and I can barely play with my friends The Screenclutter makes it so bad where assets dont load or I get stuck in areas where If I reset I become softlocked. This game went from really good to a now just a certified disaster. I'll pull my review out but until then its a hard negative for me

Wholeheartedly think that this kind of a spinoff should be done for all the other fighting game franchises. Translating the moves from original fighting games and then expanding them for crazier powerups through roguelite elements is simply brilliant. Withought a doubt - 100% worth to try out. Expecially if you are not that good at fighting games or do not have enough time to practice one. The gameplay loop is solid, the music is ok so puting your own in the background is a solid option, the…

Edit: the way I described the repetitiveness was wrong, now I changed the wording My most favorite roguelike of all time, +++ A good amount of characters, each with their own playstyle ranging from technical to down right hilarious. There is a great depth with each character, where you slowly learn to utilize the full moveset. +++ It solves one of many roguelikes biggest problem in a great way: while getting tactics (the powers), which are simple like burn damage, you slowly unlock movesets…

I should play more of Blazblue Entropy Effect. It got a round of big updates recently - more playable characters (including the protagonist of the studio's first game), more bosses, more everything. Game's rad. Platform roguelite but with fully fleshed-out fighting game characters.

[後半に日本語レビューあり] Send foes flying with fighting game-style fast combos, a 2D roguelite ACT You choose a route, stack upgrades, reach the boss... It follows a classic roguelite structure, but as the core of this game, it is thoroughly focused on the sheer "feel-good" satisfaction of its combat action. Inputs are snappy, the flow from ground combos to launches to aerial follow-ups feels natural, and you can increase your number of hits with a fighting game-like sense of cancels. Not only is…

A great game with some points of friction. Good points: - Easy to pick up, hard to master; characters have so many options and mechanics, I am still discovering things. - Strategic engagements: While bosses are more of a reflex test or pattern memory, regular rooms reward good positioning and tackling the situation with the right tools. - Fantastic cast: The blazblue cast is a memorable bunch of weirdos and the gameplay captures their personality quite well. - Stylish combat: The game…

Ever since the Dead Cells collab, the game's been running AWFULLY. Between massive Multiplayer and Single-Player stuttering, random crashes, and just weird bugs, it's been a miserable chore to play. HARD PASS. That, plus the collab character (The Prisoner) has been so bugged that it only barely works, and only if you pray enough. And even then, it might kill itself because it can deal damage to itself! Or stop acting because of weird things!

I always like to praise good roguelikes for their non-repetitive replayability, and this one is great in that respect! Best roguelike I've played so far. It has nice graphics with flashy visual effects and very satisfying gameplay. There is a lot of characters and each one has a completely different combat style. At the beginning of a run, you only have some basic attacks, and you need to collect upgrades to unlock advanced abilities for your character. There are also your classic elemental traits, different buffs/debuffs, and some insane upgrades (like +90% damage, or applying all buffs at once) that require…

Going down as one of my absolute favorite combat systems in a rogue(lite) - the combo system is amazing, the roster allows for a really, really big amount of replayability with how many combo's you can make with just starting the run (you can choose 2 characters from previous runs and some of their subsequent skills you had on the run) The roster keeps increasing, the devs keep the game updated and what brought me back this time was a new FREE character added. I would've recommended it at launch just for being a very solid game but after all the support and free updates it has gotten I would feel bad for not writing a review for it. This is a roguelike with a focus on action combat and its variety of characters, mostly being BlazBlue characters. During each run you unlock tactics and potentials, the former being element based abilities that are tied to your moves and the latter expanding your character's moves. Very fun roguelite, with gameplay extremely different from a fighting game (obviously / referencing the originals "Blazblue"). You'll never find something complex in the button inputs, it's more like x > x > y for combos instead of directions plus inputs and long strings, at most you can find things in the complexity level of ↓x > ↓x > ↓x > ↑y > ↑y or configurations of the like. Some characters can be more complex but even with those you can get by with basic combos. The characters and the…

The game cannot comprehen you killing a boss within seconds, causing a softlock that destroys your run. Multiplayer stability is not too great with that as just killing bosses quickly (the most normal thing in the world) causes desync where the game just skips entire rooms or deletes you run.

Speaking as both a fighting game player and a combat platformer fan, BBEE is the best combat platformer there is in the market right now. While the connection with Blazblue is strenuous (the story is pretty simple and has nothing to do with BB. This game is fantastic, I wish it were more popular. There is definitely some jank with explanations and translation, but not nearly as bad as i've seen in other games with the same problem.
