unlabelledView post →I loved this game at first. The physics, combined with the mechanics, punchy controls, and a bit of chaos, made the platforming incredibly satisfying. The atmosphere—carried by the excellent sound design—strongly reminded me of playing Half-Life for the first time, and it completely drew me in. I genuinely enjoyed many of the early levels. The puzzles were satisfying, and even though there was some trial and error, it felt fair and rewarding. I was even telling my colleagues how awesome Bionic…

unlabelledView post →Played a bunch of Bionic Bay by @juhanamyllys.bsky.social at Guildford Games Fest today Such a beautiful game. Platforming on its own is wonderful but being able to tag any object and swap places with it is so clever
unlabelledView post →A great two-hour concept bloated into an exhausting eight-hour slog. The opening is excellent. The movements and mechanics are fast and clever, the physics-driven puzzles have momentum, and the art direction sells the biomechanical decay. Then the game stalls. Levels stretch far beyond their depth, and meaningful ideas arrive too late, when fatigue has already set in. Deaths are frequent and often feel punitive rather than instructive. The game leans heavily on sudden hazards, poor…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Concept art for a space horror game from way back. The game never materialized but I used lots of ideas from it for Bionic Bay.
unlabelledView post →Here's some latest screens from our Sci-Fi game, Bionic Bay. It's 2D, physics-based, pixel art and retro-futurism. Inspirations: Alien, The Matrix and Super Mario.
unlabelledView post →One of the first pixel art concepts for Bionic Bay. This was an exercise to find the right tone for the game but also to have a better understanding on how to separate the gameplay layer from the background.
unlabelledView post →Concept art for Bionic Bay. I ended up using this idea in the game but in a way it's more suitable for a 2D game.

unlabelledView post →Bionic Bay, from @juhanamyllys.bsky.social and #PsychoflowStudio, is a fantastic game in a month packed with great releases. This is one of the best games of the year, and one of the best 2D platformers I've played. @kepler-interactive.bsky.social My review-- www.thegeeklygrind.com/archives/bio...
unlabelledView post →Experienced on the Meta Quest 3 You can view my 3D in VR gameplay here: https://youtu.be/VG5cx99czfY Yes, you can play Bionic Bay in 3D in VR using the completely FREE Geo-11 3D driver. Geo 11 lets you convert most DX 11 games into fully stereoscopic 3D. It's like watching a 3D movie at a 3D movie theater. A big 180 screen in front of you in glorious 3D. You might be thinking that Bionic Bay doesn't have any 3D depth, but you'd be wrong. It has a lot of 3D depth. In fact, this game is best…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate the term "trial and error" in video game critique because I think it rarely actually speaks to what someone dislikes about a game. But man, the more I played Bionic Bay, the more I kept thinking that maybe the trial and error critics have a point! bignerdgaming.com/2025/05/23/b...
unlabelledView post →Good Game Alert: Bionic Bay is a puzzle platformer in the style of Limbo, and it's pretty ingenious. Faster paced that a game like this typically is, incredibly clever puzzles, and incredibly stylish. One of my favorites of the year so far. www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/dont-...

unlabelledView post →I got this game because I like physics platformers, but it turned me into a speedrunner. I can't stop trying over and over for better times, evolving my tech to climb the leaderboards. The madness has overtaken me, a prisoner of my own quest for schmoovement.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →5/10 This game is a whole nothing burger, from the outside it may have a nice aesthetic and atmosphere, but in reality the game has nothing interesting to offer. The gameplay is basically a glorified rage game you would play on a browser in early 2010s. Just a bunch of bombs, lasers, rockets, any trap you can think of in this kind of games. There are a lot of unfair traps and also being physics based makes everything more random and unpredictable by nature. And not to mention how loud the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game #16 of 2025 completed: Bionic Bay. A very unique puzzle platformer with wacky and entertaining physics. Unfortunately, it also has some ridiculous trial and error, rough navigation at times, and a lot of very simple puzzles until the last few levels. Full review soon!

unlabelledView post →This is a fun game overall. Basically a series of many physics-based puzzles and platforming. I generally found it enjoyable and for such a small team, I think it's pretty good. Here are some pros and cons based on my experience: Cons: - The environments are very non-distinct. It's a mish-mash of industrial, neon, semi-organic elements. The whole game from start to finish pretty much looks the same. Aside from certain landmarks. Which makes environments a weak element. - Due to the previous…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok this one is very complicated. I give it a thumbs up because it's a beautiful and mechanically sound game. And the physics were extremely nicely made (for the most part). But also this game has an extreme case of "outstaying its welcome". At some point the devs were like - "Oh, no we need to provide enough content to justify the price tag". And threw a bunch of levels in the end where the flow of the game breaks. Before that if you died, even it was a cheap death you lost what.... 2-4 seconds…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was just plain frustrating after the first few levels. The randomness made things just really not fun to play. The concept was cool, but some of the puzzles are meant to just make you angry or requires exact precision which is NOT fun to do. Some of the checkpoints in the last levels were just BS. I refuse to finish this game after putting 6 hours into it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great atmosphere and there are few scenes where the screen looks like a painting. Gameplay elements are cool and you unlock a new system continuously throughout the game. But game also does a lot of random sht with those cool elements. It takes away them for no reason at random times. Also, the level design very rarely utilizes those systems. To increase difficulty, gameplay always relies on precision rather than a puzzle, which is a shame considering the variety of systems. I wish the game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- levels lack cohesion and are unable to tell a larger sci-fi story. they are just backdrops for the puzzles. - you learn by dying but not in a clever way. you just learn what to stay away from - quite a few times I solved a puzzle accidentally due to the grace of physics which wasn't satisfying at all - rinse and repeat formula had me simply going through the motions - terrible visual clarity (don't know where to continue, can't differentiate what ledge I can grab, what and where levers are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Repetitive ideas and skills, samey levels and environments, make the game feel longer than it should. Some cool moments, but not enough to stay fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the first time, in a VERY long time, I installed a game and finished it within one sitting... Bionic Bay is a bit of Limbo, a smidge of Super Meat Boy and a sprinkling of Celeste. A genuine banger, and it came out today as well! #BionicBay
unlabelledView post →Here's an ancient tree I did for my scifi game Bionic Bay. It has 250.000 pixels. Took around 40 hours to make. #pixelart
unlabelledView post →I expected a fairly classic platformer with familiar mechanics, but I was genuinely surprised once I got my hands on it. Beyond its strong visual direction, I really enjoyed the heavy, mysterious atmosphere and the mechanical environments. The scenery changes often enough to keep things fresh, with many nice and well-crafted place. The gameplay is very fluid and responsive, which is essential for this kind of game. There’s a great sense of physics and speed throughout. The puzzles and the way…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game but the most annoying puzzles I've had to deal with. I just walk away from the game and then come back when I don't want to punch my screen hard. Clever little game and highly recommend but it's not your chill game. There will be lots of frustrations. I mean a lot!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Golly, I know I am not the most skilled gamer but this one stretched me to the gills for 27 hours. Chapters 19-23 probably took 80% of that time to get through them and but for walkthroughs I would still be stuck in there somewhere. That said, I really enjoyed the innovative mechanics of these puzzles, using the physics of gravity, time distortion, dimensions and teleporting to mix it up. Not really sure what a dog's snout at the end meant but the story was a sidelight for me. I was just…

unlabelledView post →A magnificent, expansive, and tight precision platformer. I don't think I have a yelled, cried, and laughed so much at whacked-out, physics-based gameplay in years. Some sections were admittedly unfair and next to impossible, but the generous and fluke autosaves got me through. This game deserves more exposure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this game, the mix of platforming, puzzle solving, and level design aimed at speed running was perfect for me. I saw some negative comments about the puzzles being difficult (twitchy input in response to physics simulation) in the 2nd half of the game and I personally enjoyed the increased difficulty, the first half of the game was almost too easy. I also found that most of the puzzles that I thought required super precise timing, actually had simple ways to solve them, though…

unlabelledView post →A fun puzzle game that reminds me of Limbo and Inside. Highly recommend and ran great on Steam Deck
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To be honest I got bored and frustrared already. Concepts are cool, but it gets visually boring quickly and creators wanted to squize everything out of teleport mechanic and some possibilites are not fun to play with. Interesting, but not fun. I don't recommend playing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bionic Bay is a 2.5D Puzzle platformer such as limbo or Ori with an outstanding visual artstyle and art direction. Let me get the obvious out of the way first, this games visual/art style/direction is incredibly beautiful and created by such talented people there is absolutely nothing bad to say about it. Another great aspect of the game is the OST which is really well made too. And that is sadly pretty much everything highly positive i can say about this game. The overall gameplay is pretty…
