In it, you have a brother and a sister that can tranform themselves in many things and that are explaining the games and encouraging kids. Ben and Becky are searching for Smart Stars around their house. And these can be obtained by playing minigames. Each minigame is covering a field: for example, in the living room, kids can express themselves through an art activity while in the library, they can practice their geography without…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game for my 6 year old brother. He absolutely loved it, Very fun and stimulating for children at that age with small in game rewards for completing assignments/objectives to keep them motivated. I have pretty low end-medium laptop as its not even a gaming laptop and it runs the game with no problem. I got it on sale for $4-5, But after having played it myself and with my brother i would recommend buying it even at full retail which was $7. Humongous Entertainment if you are…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8/8 this is the best up and coming esports title i've ever had the pleasure of playing. Never has acquiring "smart stars" been a more thrilling experience. Graphics: off the charts good, this is straight up pixel magic people. Gameplay: outstanding, mechanics are super solid and allow for really intense moments of puzzle solving. Its almost better than the first one, but i couldnt figure out how to change color on the painting game so i was forced to rate it slightly lower. Buy this game and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played it a little, it was okay i suppose. I mean once i got through the first half of the game i could believe that the blue haired fellow was a racist, facist. and did they really have to say the N-word in the opening scenes of the game? overall 7.8/10 would play very little again.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →96. Big Thinkers 1st Grade I grew up on Pajama Sam, Putt Putt, and all the other Humongous Entertainment games, so you bet your ass I picked up the humble bundle for it back when that happened. Yes, their age really shows, but Freddi Fish's Maze Madness and Pajama Sam's Sock Works are still bangers.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I downloaded this game for my daughter, who really enjoyed all of it. Even though the game appears to be older, the content is still relevant and she spent as much time as allowed playing it. I didn't actually do anything to "measure" how much knowledge it was adding for her, but I saw her having fun learning. Not to mention, that she continued to play it when she was also in second and sometimes even third grade, and was disappointed that there was not these versions available on Steam (at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The in game cursor is so all over the place. It behaves worse than a blowfly on a hot day. Seriously, I think the in game cursor needs some smart stars. I'm here going to go against the popular flow and give this a big thumbs down. Granted the reason for that thumbs down is largely for the reason stated above, however other than a simple port, no other work has been done to the game to really remaster it. The graphics are outdated and need some serious makeup, more so than Dolly Parton in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is honestly, the BEST game I have ever played. The main protagonists give you helpful guides and tips to make it to each new room as you progress through the game. The game creates a sense of home, and warmth as you get to know the characters. The developers constantly release updates for this game, as every day I am faced with a new update, adding more Operations or packs to unlock. With each coming expansion it is futile not to buy. Best game 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, I bought this game because I have fond memories of this game from when I was the target audience of Big Thinkers. I'm actually surprised by how well it aged over the years since it first came out. There's no reason to buy it as an adult unless you're like me and just want to relive your childhood. If you have kids, though, this is still a top notch edutainment game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My name is Walter Hartwell White. I live at 308 Negra Arroyo Lane, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87104. This is my confession. If you're watching this tape, I'm probably dead, murdered by my brother-in-law Hank Schrader. Hank has been building a Virtual Youtuber empire for over a year now and using me as his recruiter. Shortly after my 50th birthday, Hank came to me with a rather, shocking proposition. He asked that I use my Live2D knowledge to recruit talents, which he would then hire using his…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Big Thinkers 1st Grade is an ancient family friendly 1988/DOS era point and click educational adventure game running on Steam thanks to the ScummVM engine. Gameplay involves Maniac Mansion/Monkey Island style point and click environments combined with a few educational minigames and "activities" intended to keep young children occupied. There's a grading system to track performance of students. This game is over 25 years old, it's ancient. 4:3, fixed resolution (looks like VGA). Weirdly, the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game and the other Big Thinkers one is unstable on Ubuntu 20.04 and doesn't support multiple displays properly. Downvoted because it states the game is Linux compatible but this is reliant on the ScummVM emulator. And it doesn't run nicely. Frankly with all the assets this could be and should be coded again from scratch in a cheap game-making tool. Then it would run properly.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game from a friend for my 3 year niece to play, and it was very good at teaching her simple things! However, there are a couple of things I would have changed, such as: 1. I would try harder to mask the obvious gang affiliations the teachers partake in. Its ok if its hard to notice so only adults get it but I eventually found my niece crip walking around the backyard trying to rob the dog of his treats with a stick. 2 Tone down the Fan Service. I don't think the woman needs to be…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this for my 5 year old, but my 10 yr ols also enjoys playing it. alot of the little games I dont think they kow they are learning. the games are fun and sometimes challenging but in a good way. there are alot of little hidden things to interact with in each room that they are still discovering new things. as a homeschooling mom I can suggest this to other parent who are looking for a more educational but still fun game for your kid to play they will get hooked on getting more stars. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Big Thinkers: 1st Grade was a follow up to the previous game except with educational games aim towards a 1st grade level student. The concept and scenario are the same except the mini games are different. But since the game takes place at the same location it can easily be mistaken for the first game. So in other words there is nothing new to provide in this installment. All of the other Humongous Games did different scenarios for their sequals so it makes you wonder why this one didn't do the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently stumbled upon "Big Thinkers 1st Grade" on Steam, and let me tell you, it was a blast from the past! As someone who grew up playing educational games in the '90s, revisiting this gem was like reconnecting with an old friend. First and foremost, I was impressed by how well the game holds up even after all these years. The colorful graphics and lively animations immediately transported me back to my childhood. But beyond the nostalgia, "Big Thinkers 1st Grade" still…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great game for 1st graders to play! It's much better than JumpStart, because it has more creative activities, as well as a bigger challenge called the "SuperStar of Smarts" that acts as a lesson review for kids. There are also different difficulty levels for the game, too! If you are a parent of a 1st grader reading this, I strongly recommend you buy it for them!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I use to play this when i was 5 on windows 95, i played it everyday and loved it so much I hunted it down and downloaded it for my 4 and 6 year old. I thought maybe being grown up it might be not as good as it was threw my young eyes, boy was i wrong!!!! It's better than i remembered it and sometimes i sneak in a quick play when the kids are at school. It is educational and heaps of fun. Uses basic mouse click control for little one too which i find great. i put a little sticker on the left…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I grew up playing this game, and my goodness, did it leave a mark. If you're a parent, please get this game for your children. I've just spent money on the entire H.E. Set here on steam, I loved it so much. I am over 21+ now, and still think about this at least once or twice a year. It's a very educational series, and I implore you to get the others or entire bundle. This specific game is the second game in the set, Kindergarten being the first. I remembered the theme song, the colors, the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am not a first grader In fact, I don't even have one in my family any more. Since my nephew and my two nieces are too old now, I tested Big Thinkers 1st grade on my own. I like it. I can imagine a 6 year old having fun with all the minigames. From basic counting to categorizing there is much to do here and everything except the intro is taylored for children. The intro freaked me out, maybe because I had very bad 1980s flashbacks to bad cartoons from my childhood. As an adult, I find some…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was my second course in the "Big Thinkers" program offered by Humongous. I learned to reprioritize my assets into more obtainable and rational long term goals. The course also stressed the importance of brainstorming, or as they like to call it-- "formulaic adrenoceptive reticular thought sensations" (FARTS), in receptive aspriational chronotherapy. I do recommend this course.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →overall pretty good educational game for my first grader. Style is definitely 90 / early 2000s. So over the top cartoony but it keeps him engaged so its good.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Big Thinkers! 1st Grade, developed by Humongous Entertainment and published in its modern form by Nightdive Studios, is a colorful and educational adventure designed to teach and entertain children in the early stages of elementary school. It represents an attempt to blend interactive play with curriculum-based learning, targeting a balance between academic engagement and creative amusement. Like many of Humongous Entertainment’s titles from the late 1990s, it features the company’s signature…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The title does not have support for modern PCs and defaults to a stretched resolution which is jarring to play, even for a younger audience. Switching to windowed mode makes the graphics sharper but the game screen is so tiny and hurts your eyes. This is better off ported onto a mobile device to better reach their intended audiences.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game probably is not made for a 24 year old. Nonetheless it was enjoyable. I can see myself enjoying this one as a kid. As an adult, not so much lol
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Made the kids I use to babysit cry Which was funny to me but I don't think was the proper intentions
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is full of all kinds of body horrors, though it was not the intend of the developers to terrify your kid to the core, this game is just ripe for some pristine nightmare fuel for "dem kidz".
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game, I enjoy this style and I feel both happy and overwhelmed by their maximalist home haha but I prefer the kindergarten one.
