Barrio Triste
Directed by STILLZ
On the outskirts of Medellín, Colombia in the late 1980s, local residents report strange lights descending from the sky. When a reporter arrives to investigate, a ragtag group of teens from a lawless neighbourhood storm the scene and steal his camera. In the hands of its new owners, the device records a mesmerising plunge into their frantic existence. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →Famous in advertising and music videos, Colombian Stillz presents his debut Barrio Triste at #Orizzonti for Magnify. A primitive mockumentary, the film is ugly and exudes nothing but dread, even when dealing with animals - most probably the point. One of the worst films of the year, also in Toronto.

Clearly sets out to be as unpleasant a watch as possible, at which is undoubtedly succeeds. But there is so little substance underneath.
