unlabelledView post →Also, if you want a Christmas set film about a crack military unit who fly in secretly to perform night missions using high technology in remote locations, undetected, ‘Arthur Christmas’ is a Christmas movie.

unlabelledView post →Watched the movie Flushed Away, because we enjoyed Arthur Christmas enough to give CGI Aardman Animation a shot. It's trapped halfway between Aardman quirk and Dreamworks "end with a dance party" studio notes. The best animation is when it pretends to be stop motion. An artistic cul-de-sac.

unlabelledView post →Arthur Christmas [clue in the name], that's a Christmas movie. A guy in a vest with his biceps out shooting the hell out of stuff is not a Christmas movie. Included snapshots in case you need more help.

unlabelledView post →⬇️ ALL OF THIS! ⬇️ Sincerely, Another Arthur Christmas Fan P.S. It’s my all-time favorite Christmas film.
unlabelledView post →Arthur Christmas is another CGI movie by Aardman and one without the trademark look, as it was their first post-DreamWorks film. Arthur (James McAvoy) is a son of Santa (Jim Broadbent) and when the unthinkable happens, its up to Arthur to make sure every kid gets their present before Christmas.

(Bit harsh I realise, but mostly a perfectly valid excuse to never spend it at my mother’s again until she can be persuaded to actually relinquish control of the kitchen.)

I love how it blends in light scifi elements to the Santa mythos without losing any of the magic or wonder, and the voice cast is impeccable. Aardman is the greatest.

unlabelledView post →**Arthur Christmas** (no, not THAT Arthur) It's a computer animated film from Aardman Animations, the studio that makes Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run, etc. I watch it at least once a year, and every time I do I laugh hysterically, I cry, and I get wrapped up in the action. And, the story has four main characters with four really good arcs.

unlabelledView post →My Christmas Movie Hot Take is that if ARTHUR CHRISTMAS got the same annual attention and exposure as, say, THE POLAR EXPRESS, we'd have a better world. This is a masterpiece and I will hear no arguments.
