However, the game play itself is awful, and that's if you even get the game to load in the first place. Starting up the game takes so long and usually crashes from the loading screen, then if you do manage to load in, the game is laggy and controls don't work on certain things and eventually the game will close itself. The spelling in this game is terrible and shows such a lack of effort from the devs, the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the options for fish the most, there are room for improvements but overall it's a great game to use for tank design ideas/test runs before doing them in real life. What I enjoy: The options for fish between species, colors, and variations The plants options! Many different tank sizes and styles Accurate fish info The music is 10/10 Great graphics What I would personally like to see: The mosses need more dark texture; they're all the same green shade and it's too bright…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to love this game. I was willing to overlook a lot and hoped the reviews mentioning unintuitive controls were something I could adjust to with time. Alas, rotating and placing tank decor is an actual nightmare. Just placing a rock, the literal first task you do in the game, took me almost 20 minutes. I would wrangle it into position, then couldn't for the life of me figure out how to confirm and buy it. In trying different options and clicking different things, the rock would…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not enough content crappy paid dlc 31 gb is too big for me to keep downloaded at all times just to play whenever
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can't use the DLC's together. Each DLC is like its own separate game. I wanted to use items from both the Japan DLC and the items from the Sealife DLC and combine them into one tank, but you can't even do that!! LAME!! ALSO.....you get jobs that require specific items that you don't have unlocked yet. Why give me a job that I cant complete until way later in the game?! There's been many jobs just sitting uncomplete until I have that specific fish, or specific plant, and it is really…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Would it kill these devs to add the slightest difference in behaviour between fish? Or at the very least have the actual needs of the fish listed? Having a gold fish on needing a small aquarium and not needing tankmates is diabolical. I can excuse the mediocre design elements. But this level of misinformation is downright disgusting. Fish are not a floating soulless decoration.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a huge potential. The core game, though, lacks a lot of essentials every aquarist knows well. - there is no monitoring of ammonia, nitrite and nitrate (should be part of the realistic mode, ticking and building up from the last water change, with spikes if one of your fish dies) - no water change in realistic mode - no overstocking - no female fish, no breeding (livebearers, such as poecilia wingei, have only males, and they look weird - no option to have just your tank visible…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun and relaxing game, but I have some issues. There's definitely not enough decorations avaliable. I kept finding myself using the same plant combo because most of them didnt look good together. I just wish we had a wider selection. Placing stuff and camera controls are not great either. I liked that every client had a different style they wanted, made me try some new things out. I enjoyed playing so I would reccomend it... except I'm pretty sure there's other (better), similarly priced…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing through the campaign it's a chill little Aquarium builder, people will email you, and sometimes there's a secret objective that you have to figure out what they want and try to make it the best you can, however if you want to 100% this? the game turns into Fish torture simulator, KILL 300 FISH, KILL 300 PLANTS so I'm sitting here building the perfect fish deathquarium by replacing the water with acid, and superheating it to 35C and I sit here and think about my life as I dump 200+ Angel…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its good for about 5 minutes but thats about it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is what it says it is. The game itself has quests from different people delivered in the form of e-mails. They'll have different needs to be met but a lot of it is straight forwards. I wish there was a little more story to the game and a better way to organize the emails. There isn't much replayability as once you're done the campaign, you're done. Playing through a second time doesn't change anything. You do get access to your own personal tanks which you're able to set on free…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If they expand upon this more, I'll change my review but currently the game play is very lackluster. The upgrades are very lack luster. Creative mode is way too limited. I was expecting to make a huge room of aquariums, etc. Not worth it, even on sale. While the dlcs seem to expand the game, I feel like they're not worth buying with how lackluster the base game is.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aquarium Designer is exactly what it says on the box... it's a PlayWay SA job simulator from Poland. This time instead of fixing cars, we're building custom aquariums based on orders we get in the email. And this isn't like, building an on-site custom job, you just get a fish tank and drop rocks, fish and plants in it. It doesn't matter how you arrange them. I'll admit there's probably some charm in the idea of a cosy, casual aquarium simulator game... but I don't feel this does a good…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game had a great start, but it seems like it has been abandoned at this point. :S If you want to try it, wait until it is on sale or something. Or don't, I cannot stop you. I'll change my review in the slight chance that the devs do update with a ton of requested features or something.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love being able to create and design aquariums fulla fish without the commitment of taking care of a real aquarium fulla fish.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: Aquarium Designer is a below-adequate game about designing aquariums, as it has very little content and follows horrible user experience practices for a sandbox game. I am really disappointed with the quality and the available content that Aquarium Designer offers. The fish species are really limited, the decorations are of poor quality, and although there are great hardscape and plant options, the aquarium-building system is really counterintuitive. In the base version, there are only…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i have fish autism so i LOVED this game !!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice if you like to play with setting up aquariums, needs more realistic items such as snails, frogs, dry areas and such.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really? Camera cannot be moved on height! Is a very relaxing game but frustrating about camera in game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice if you want to design something really simple, but otherwise it's just not a good game. No realistic fish behaviour, lack of plants, little fish variety, poor controls, zero invertebrates or tank-cleaning fish and there hasn't been an update in years. Seems the devs released the DLC, got all they wanted from this, and it's now abandoned
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the so called "realistic" setting, is far from it, the only thing you need to worry about is PH, completely amateurish, there's no Nitrites, Nitrates, Ammonia, don't have to worry about the water hardness. even the filters you get to choose from are basic internal suction filters, none of the equipment an experienced Aquarist would use. this game is how inexperienced first time fish keepers expect the experience to be, buy the cheapest little tank you can find, fill it with straight tap water,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought it on sale and I was still disappointed. Not worth it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What I bought: base game + most, if not all, of the available DLCs on sale Liked: - Runs on my device, graphics were surprisingly well - Variety of fish available - Variety of hardscapes, and foliage available - Making unique hardscapes, and foliage mix was enjoyable to me - Campaign is so far enjoyable and can be challenging Critique: - I wish there were more fish species (and more color variety for the bettas), and other creatures likes shrimps and snails - More decorations would be nice,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!! This game crashed both my laptop and desktop computer! I really wanted to play the game and enjoy the aquatic architectures i seen in the trailer but it froze my computer to where I almost loss data on my HD and did the same thing on my laptop. So I DO NOT recommend this game at all!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely way to help plan irl tanks, would just love if shrimps and kuhli loaches were added! The current variation of fish is still really nice, the plants are fairly diverse and it's easy to place rocks as you want. A cool but maybe difficult feature to implement could be multiple substrates at once like soil/gravel/sand like the walstad method.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall enjoyable game, but much more limited game play than I was expecting. 1 - Campaign mode I loved the campaign mode but the emails for the jobs come in so quickly, I'll receive the next one in a series before I've completed the first one, and when you have 3 series running at a time, the inbox gets very full. Staggering the emails until the first job is completed would be great, and limiting to one or two jobs sent a day, would make it seem less demanding, and feel like the campaign was…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After fully completing this game and getting all achievements i can confidently say this is one of the best aquarium designer games ive played so far. The game has a option to build your own tanks freely and also design tanks for your clients. The game has plenty of options for fish, decorations, plant life, and tank shapes and sizes. And i havent gotten any of the addons but with the addons you obviously get more options for fish and other things. Its a relaxing game overall with a few minor…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i love this game i just wish the dev team didn't abandon this game with barely any content theres alot of aspects of this game that could have been fully fleshed out, and things that could have been fixed for example the wood not being able to clip on some rocks is annoying because real aquascape doesn't technically have this limitation you can cut wood to fit it on rocks so we should be able to clip wood in rocks. alot of the fish have 1 AI so fish like loaches and plecos swim like bettas and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good game! I have few aquariums myself so its nice to do the hobby in game too! I like how you can customize pretty much everything, i would like the game to have more fish and more plants! And planes for decor pleaase (unless they are in already, havent checked the new updates :< ) Husband bought it for me, and im really enjoying it - thank you husband.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Couldn't get the game to start with Proton
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like it. The fish look great, the plants are great, it's quite nice all around, very chill. It's quite simple to get the hang of it, and you can create your own tanks, then choose not to have to watch them or do, as you like. Very nice relaxing game. It also doesn't require you to get fake currency to upkeep/create your own tanks, so you can go crazy.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ok, needs shrimp
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Placing rocks, plants, etc is unrealistic and hard to do. Controls are unintuitive and make it impossible to arrange items the way I want. Fish information is often incorrect and their behavior is unrealistic. I spent some time in free mode or whatever it's called and tried to make a reasonable scape and couldnt make it realistic at all. And almost worst of all... The variety was just not there. Just a small selection of wonky flatly textured items and fish that feel lifeless. I got this for 2…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall all a nice aquarium builder. I wish there were more options for substrate materials that had better textures than just the sand and one other. Great game to practice aquascaping before building a tank you have in mind.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this for $2.79 and I feel ripped off. Clunky, clunky, clunky. Not enough stuff. Unhappy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game, wish there was other aquarium life like snails, shrimp and crayfish.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game is boring and is extremely limited. fishes are limited and decor is limited, i played for 5 hours (according to my steam account but 6 hours according to my email when requesting for a refund) thinking i would be able to unlock more options but no i mainly only unlocked the small library of options they had that were level locked. Nonetheless, still very limited amount of choices. And because i played for 5 hours, it can't get a refund. don't make my mistake. Take it from me, not worth…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Color me unimpressed. The fish animations are slack. Not terrible, but boring (they don't do anything except stock sinuous swimming motion) and sometimes they fold in half when they change direction. At ultra resolution the plants look low-res. They phoned in the gravel, too. One shader map with a low-res picture of gravel, no 3D either. I was bored with this sim in 30 minutes. I bought all the DLC and there's just enough items and variety to build a few tanks before you get bored. I didn't see…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game! has a large selection of fish and plants. however i wish the fish were more realistic. the pleco/bottom feeders swim freely around instead of staying at the bottom. hoping for snails, axolotls, and shirmp soon!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game so good i finish doing water changes on my irl aquariums and then boot up this game to take care of my virtual aquariums
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aquarium Designer was alright for what it tried to be. The "design" aspect sadly is shortsighted. The handling of the objects is not intuitive at all, you cannot mass select objects and you keep clicking on things you didn't intend to, the camera is also a struggle. As of the objects, let's say i was disappointed. the stone and plant selection was good, great variety, but the typical "unnatural" aquariom decor, was severly lacking. you get about one or two things that fit together design wise,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls are unintuitive and the content is lacking. Seems setup for you to need multiple DLCs in the future . Limited choices in utilities and the plant and marine plants. Needs so much more to be worth buying. You can 100% all contracts in a couple of hours
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a fun aquarium designer game, but it doesn't have that much different content to not feel repetitive after a few aquariums.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Calm and relaxing game, especially if you have ever put together and had an aquarium of your own in real life. The different aquarium designs and sizes were enjoyable to experiment with to add in what vegetation, decorations, and fish you want to see. The single player mode was fun with filling customer orders and creating their fish tanks. The sandbox play was also fun with the plants, fish, and other decorations the game had to offer. Even an encyclopedia for what water temperature,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I initially struggled trying to display my tank without any controls showing, but it is possible. Some are complaining about not being able to put into "screensaver" mode, and the designers say that is not supported. But I think this is what they actually mean. You can go into "observation mode" and within a few seconds, all of the user interface items disappear, leaving just the tank. Great sim.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do like this game but, it's been abandoned. 2/3rds of the fish and decor are behind dlc packs which is fine I guess, but beyond those paid packs we never got anything else and theres never any hotfixes or updates for this game so it's began to get kind of buggy and stale. I'd hold off on buying until they fix some of the bugs or release something more. Or its on sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love to design here, cozy music, cute details, much fishes. It is a good way to learn how to build an aquarium and there are much challenges to continue building. I enjoy this is adorable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Perfect for spending a chill evening sitting down and creating some beautiful screen savers. However, if you're looking for something deeper with creating actual ecology, you may find this title lacking. Heavy focus on the design, very shallow focus on the actual fish themselves. I recommend it for the relaxing gameplay and no-frills approach to being able to design your own aquariums of various kinds, with different themes and having the flexibility to create practically whatever you want…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great cosy game, I love the realism of balancing temperature and PH levels. I just wish the campaign was a bit longer as I completed within 2 hours, and spent an additional hour in sandbox mode, so feel like I haven't got a huge amount to return to.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game itself is good it just needs more plants fish wood ect for the game to be worth the price
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so nuts, beautiful graphics, beautiful music, a wide range of species for both fish and plants as well as intricate facts and knowledge boosters on loads of things included in the game. if you're looking for a cosy, relaxing, slow and non-demanding game, this is the one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the peaceful play of the game, Bought all the Dlc's as well. But just wish there was more campaign Stuff. I played through it all in under seven hours and just wish there was more. The Asia Pack only had like three things to do other than your aquariums and that was a bit disappointing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game looks cool but my 3rd mission i had to match a picture but they give you no real info ive tried everything i could to match it but just cant figure it out.
