Might try and squeeze in #horrorwatch, too, but the ads always piss me off by ruining the flow of the movie 🫤

neutral · AI labelView post →Watched Apartment 7A Randomly giving a prequel to Rosemary's Baby is a weird choice and well, it probably was a good idea to keep it on Paramount+ The acting, some of the effects and the main plotline tries but the rest of it feels more like a remake of the original film and not as good
negative · AI labelView post →I'll have a review of WOLF MAN next week, but for now here's a look at Julia Garner's last horror movie, APARTMENT 7A, the prequel to ROSEMARY'S BABY where she's terrorized by Dianne Wiest doing a Ruth Gordon impression. (I liked it.)

This 2024 film was directed by Natalie Erika James who also wrote it with Christan White and Skyler James. It shows at least one previous attempt at birthing the anti Christmas. #Filmsky #Horrorsky #Nowwatching #Apartment7a

neutral · AI labelView post →Apartment 7A is also the fourth horror film (or horror adjacent) I’ve seen this year dealing with women and showbiz in some way too. Again, I don’t think it’s a coincidence this is coming up so often at the same time as film’s dealing with women’s bodily autonomy.
neutral · AI labelView post →I watched Apartment 7A and it’s exactly Rosemary’s Baby? Like, it’s a “prequel” but they didn’t even bother coming up with… anything? They just did the movie again? What’s the point of this? I don’t understand this world anymore

negative · AI labelView post →Rosemary's Baby was cool to watch again. It's been a long time since I saw it so there's loads I don't remember. Linked up well with Apartment 7A too. It was fun to start off with that one. Almost one long movie. But if you (somehow) don't know the story then you should start with R.B. first.

neutral · AI labelView post →Enjoyed Apartment 7A. Julia Garner was superb. The film isn't exactly awash with surprises or originality from a story perspective, but the way the story was told, coupled with the direction and pacing as things start to be discovered was nicely done. Following it up with ROSEMARY'S BABY now.
positive · AI labelView post →MJ's @rosaliekicks.bsky.social says, "The overall production of APARTMENT 7A exudes a golden age film style that hypnotizes, making it the perfect way to kick off spooky season." #Aparment7A is now streaming via @paramountplus.bsky.social and available to purchase digitally.
neutral · AI labelView post →Part of the problem with labeling everything under “content” is I’m more inclined to watch a movie than a TV show, which is a bigger time commitment. This is all to say I could have sworn APARTMENT 7A was a series.
neutral · AI labelView post →Honestly, I thought this was some sort of horror movie based on a comic strip; however, I remembered the comic strip took place in Apartment 3-G not Apartment 7A Hell of an apartment complex.
neutral · AI labelView post →#movies Apartment 7A (2024) is not my usual movie fare, but in my opinion, it’s a decent little horror film and, if nothing else, worth watching just for Dianne Wiest’s impression of Ruth Gordon.
positive · AI labelView post →Apartment 7A (2024) I havent seen Rosemary’s Baby for context, but if I had a nickel every time ive watched a movie starring Julia Garner playing a crashout heroine being used as a puppet by a wack old lady, id have TWO NICKELS!
neutral · AI labelView post →I've watched Rosemery's baby a year ago, and this year I saw Apartment 7A, thinking it was unabashedly copying Rosemery's plot, I was half-way into the movie that it clicked it was a prequel, haha! Really liked Apartment 7A. 👍
positive · AI labelView post →Film 39 of 2025: Apartment 7A (2004) Rosemary's Baby didn't need a prequel, but this was surprisingly not bad. I'm surprised to say this, I wish they had done more scenes combining dance routines with horror; that stuff was pretty cool and fairly unique.
positive · AI labelView post →Not Apartment 7A depicting Satan as a manifestation of glitter and rhinestones. This Paramount+ movie is CAMP

neutral · AI labelView post →A horror movie suggestion! Watch Apartment 7A (the new prequel to Rosemary's Baby) and Rosemary's Baby back-to-back this weekend. There's a bit of tweaking to some of the basic plots, but they fit together nicely, and both are great. Also, some really great shots in the new one.

neutral · AI labelView post →Also, now that I’ve seen this movie, Apartment 7A is retroactively worse because it feels entirely redundant and pointless 🙊

neutral · AI labelView post →apartment 7a is actually good!! there will of course be comparisons to the original and to the other forced pregnancy, child of the devil movies of 2024 - but i think A7A brings in really good performances and set pieces that set it apart from the others #horror #filmsky #apartment7a boxd.it/8lWSuX
positive · AI labelView post →I'm going to rewatch Rosemary's Baby. I just streamed Apartment 7A (loved it) and now want to go back to the source.
positive · AI labelView post →That's a great book! It creeped me out at first, too. I also loved Polanski's movie iteration, and recently watched his prequel "Apartment 7A."
neutral · AI labelView post →I also watched Azrael this week which was really good, and started Apartment 7a, directed by Natalie Erika James, who directed the brilliant Relic a couple years ago. 7a has a strong lead performance from Julia Garner. It’s a prequel that stands on its own variety.com/2024/film/re...
neutral · AI labelView post →I watched this Apartment 7A and I LOVED IT! It was a really good movie. It was better than I expected. Honestly, I’d watch it again.
positive · AI labelView post →Tonight it was Apartment 7A, a movie with at least two good performances but just feels like it drags on forever. I like Rosemary's Baby a lot but this didn't do much for me (the fact that I'm writing this in the last 10 minutes of the movie probably says more than I could ever write).
negative · AI labelView post →Official review of Apartment 7A is that it was well produced and acted. Dragged a bit in the back third, and too scary. BUT! I really enjoyed the period when the movie took place AND I enjoyed the acting overall, even if it was predictable where the plot was headed. Still ended pretty cool!

neutral · AI labelView post →For those of you who may be taking the plunge and watching APARTMENT 7A, let me pass along a great tip given to me by the esteemed @bcdreyer.bsky.social. Read Ira Levin's novel of "Rosemary's Baby" then as soon as possible, watch Polanski's film. It's astonishing how close they are.
neutral · AI labelView post →Tonight's film was Rosemary's Baby as a refresher ready for Apartment 7A.
neutral · AI labelView post →I'll have to wait until tomorrow for the Apartment 7A release (don't ask me why), but that's a film I'll watch ASAP 😂
neutral · AI labelView post →New York is the true star of the film, but everyone brought their A-game. Ruth Gordon won an Oscar for best supporting actress. Both the film and the novel were game-changers for horror. There's a prequel releasing next month, Apartment 7A, visiting the events that led to the original story. 3/end

positive · AI labelView post →Watching Apartment 7A on Friday the 13th. It is a bit spooky. Julia Garner is a star. #Friday13
neutral · AI labelView post →Film#42. Apartment 7A (2024) This film is well-made but it didn’t feel like a prequel of Rosemary’s Baby to me. The colours/cinematography, the choice of music, even the dialogue, somehow didn’t feel like 1960s. Some inconsistencies going into RB, but I loved the penultimate scene. 7/10 #Filmsky
neutral · AI labelView post →Making an effort to stop “better than it has any right to be”-ing good things because it’s lazy in a vaguely pretentious way, but FIRST OMEN probably warrants an exception on first time director, stars first lead film role, and the ostensibly similar Apartment 7A sucked ass grounds.
negative · AI labelView post →After you read, and you’ll want to rewatch the movie, if you haven’t already seen the prequel, give Apartment 7A a try. It added nicely to the story.
neutral · AI labelView post →I watched this film for the first time prior to your podcast after having watched Apartment 7A a few days ago - I don't know if any of you have seen that, but there's a scene in it which clearly indicates at least one of the characters in it has, very obviously, seen this movie
