60 of 127 · most liked firstI love A Wrinkle in Time and the movie made me cry like a baby because I waited so long to see it onscreen. My kid was "eh" about the book and maybe a little bored with the film. You can share the work you love with your kids, but they won't experience it like you did. They'll have their own stuff.

unlabelledView post →I would love a live action adaptation of either The Book of Three or The Black Cauldron (an adaptation of the books, not the animated movie)! It's my understanding that Disney optioned the Prydain books when they did the live action A Wrinkle in Time, but haven't yet done anything with the rights.
unlabelledView post →please please please let this be a time when A Wrinkle in Time has a resurgence. The movie from Ava DuVernay was wonderful. The book is fantastic. Stay angry, little Meg.
unlabelledView post →Going to start telling people that my Tess was named after a character in this movie, although the truth is she was named after Tesseract from A Wrinkle in Time.
unlabelledView post →A Wrinkle in Time I haven't read the book in awhile, but the 2018 film adaptation is genuinely one of the most inexcusably bad films of all time, even when you don't consider how dirty it does its source material.
unlabelledView post →I REALLY needed to think on this, but I did watch this on DVD with the rest of my class in school, but my favorite is the 2003 made-for-TV film adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time. It's not perfect (with even the DVD cover having elements not matching the film), but it was largely influential for me.
unlabelledView post →How about both? I think my favorite movie poster is this one for Mary poppins Returns (2018) and my favorite book cover is this one for A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle
unlabelledView post →When I was ten I decided that I was going to make the movie adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time and spent the summer storyboarding the whole thing. What an incredible book.
unlabelledView post →You know, I often think about how the 2003 TV movie adaptation for A Wrinkle In Time had a trailer for it on the Spy Kids VHS and NONE of the scenes from that trailer were in the finished film. (It was also supposedly originally meant to be a two-part, 4-hour mini-series)
unlabelledView post →We are trying out a different book (again. Moo sure knows how to pick 'em lol). This time it's an old sci-fi book for kids that was apparently made into a movie by Disney. Huh! A WRINKLE IN TIME BY MADELEINE L'ENGLE THREAD
unlabelledView post →Introduce yourself with 1 book, 1 film, and 1 TV show: Book: A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle 🧠 Film: Terminator 2 👍🏻🔥 TV show: Star Trek (all) 🖖🏾
unlabelledView post →Madeline L'Engle is not contemporary but still charms young readers (and movie goers, and musical theater goers... okay, so maybe A Wrinkle in Time is a little overexposed) as does Andre Norton and Anne McCaffrey.
unlabelledView post →Okay so after all that bitching, I think A Wrinkle in Time is a movie I needed. A young black girl that not only looks like me but has the same personality as me and just wants to be accepted?? It’s like looking in the mirror 😭😭😭😭
unlabelledView post →March Challenge 6/31 #booksky #books #bookchallenge #TheWriteWomen “A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeleine L’Engle. I read this a kid, I read it again with my child, I saw the movie, and then read it again. Squealed with joy when it was featured in Ted Lasso. Hands down one of my all-time favorite books.
unlabelledView post →No matter how many times my children make me watch A Wrinkle in Time, I will never get over my amazement that such a wonderful novel could be turned into this absolute bullshit of a movie.
unlabelledView post →As someone who never saw the 2019 film adaptation of A Wrinkle In Time because I didn't think it would be much better than the previous attempt to adapt the book... Surely it couldn't have been WORSE than that previous attempt.
unlabelledView post →I was driving home all day, listening to, A WRINKLE IN TIME. Just hearing about a civil war type attack on MacArthur Park? What the hell. You know the snerds will have a film out soon glorifying their stupidity. Please deport all involved. If you are in service to this regime…quit. Quit today.
unlabelledView post →So I started reading "A Wrinkle In Time" recently. I've seen the Disney movie years ago (spoiler alert, not my favorite). But apparently, Meg has younger twin brothers?! Where were they in the movie?!

unlabelledView post →Alright, I think I have a fancast thread figured out for a fan poster for a film version of A Wrinkle In Time, one of my absolute favorite books.
unlabelledView post →This would be a great category for rating anything in general. I once read a negative review of the most recent A Wrinkle in Time movie, all about how ridiculously whimsical it was and that the article author didn’t care for whimsy. 😒
unlabelledView post →I finished the A Wrinkle in Time book a few days ago and then I watched the 2018 movie and the 2003 TV movie adaptations. It's kind of wild to me how the TV movie ate up the 2018 movie. It felt more focused and did a better job in actually adapting the book.
unlabelledView post →My kiddo and I are reading “A Wrinkle in Time” and I have just learned that Aunt Beast was cut from the film? What kind of Tom Bombadil bullshit is this? Aunt Beast is goated.
unlabelledView post →7 years ago today, ‘A WRINKLE IN TIME’ released in theaters. Directed by Ava DuVernay, who became the first African-American woman to direct a live-action feature film with a budget over $100M.
unlabelledView post →I met her once, very briefly, just for a few seconds, but she was very kind to me. I'd wanted to make a suggestion to a producer who was planning a Wrinkle in Time movie. She was kind enough to actually send my note to that producer.
unlabelledView post →If your young readers prefer science fiction instead, Madeline L'Engle has an entire shelf of books written by her, starting with "A Wrinkle in Time" (also featuring a terrible movie!) that enchanted me as a child. Occasionally veering a little toward fantasy, the series follows two families...
unlabelledView post →#30: A Wrinkle in Time Giantess Oprah was really unexpected, gotta say. The movie correctly believes that the two scariest places in the Universe are suburbia and Florida. A story about Xehanort's daughter going on an adventure to find him. #filmsky boxd.it/d1lGRV
unlabelledView post →I have decided that I'll be doing a fan poster for A Wrinkle in Time, one of my favorite books. I saw both adaptations (really, the 2018 film was better than the TV movie). But anyway, for Mrs. Which, I have settled on the legendary Michelle Yeoh. I am figuring out the rest of the cast.
unlabelledView post →To bring up an inverse case with another Black filmmaker: the A Wrinkle in Time adaption focused on creating an inspiring story for POC girls in STEM, to the detriment of making the movie a good adaption of the source material.
unlabelledView post →The top picture is from the "A Wrinkle in Time" movie and no one can convince me otherwise
unlabelledView post →Unless someone read a Wrinkle in Time or followed hard science fiction, a tesseract is a confusing concept. I think that this movie showed it well, but didn't explain it well. #HATM

unlabelledView post →Name a (non musical) movie with a soundtrack that slaps, regardless of the quality of the movie itself. My starter list: A Wrinkle in Time American Graffitti [Too easy, maybe, but it's such a good mix. Forrest Gump, too.] Black Panther The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. Watership Down

unlabelledView post →I just saw an online review for the book A Wrinkle in Time (from someone who had likely seen the movie first and read the book after, not that there's anything wrong with that). Title of review: A great book! Review: (enjoyed book, it differs from the movie) Star rating: three stars 🤔
unlabelledView post →Fuckin' A Wrinkle In Time I will quote my husband, approximately 40 minutes into the movie. "I didn't even read this book and I know this is disappointing."
unlabelledView post →It had to contemplate due to forgetting the name of the movie (embarrassed) but, Hidden Figures and also A Wrinkle in Time
unlabelledView post →Micro Film Review: A Wrinkle in Time (2018) It definitely suffers from a low budget. Some of the more mind blowing images from the book are clearly absent. That said the core story and performances are powerful. Gave me a newfound appreciation for the source material.
unlabelledView post →We re-watched A Wrinkle in Time (2018) tonight and it was… fine… but the best part about it was easily the song by Sade that was made for the film. youtu.be/m7b8hitvfoE?...
unlabelledView post →Watch the Skies (2022, Sweden) is a fun sci-fi adventure film. It’s a mashup of The X-Files and A Wrinkle in Time. It includes found family, action, mystery, quirky characters, and lots of heart. If, like me, you follow UFO (aka UAP) news & phenomena, this film delivers all the vibes.
unlabelledView post →it was also concepted as a snyderverse movie so it was probably dead on arrival anyway but they were very vocal about it being Jack Kirby by way of A Wrinkle in Time

unlabelledView post →I also really enjoyed the recent A Wrinkle in Time movie. It was definitely not beat-for-beat with the book I've read too many times to count, but it holds to the spirit of the story really well, I think. #KidLitChat

unlabelledView post →Dark Tower film was offensively bad. A Wrinkle in Time was also offensively bad.
unlabelledView post →Oh, A Wind in the Door is SO GOOD. Better than a Wrinkle in Time, if even more impossible to translate into film.
unlabelledView post →11. The scene in "A Wrinkle in Time" (the 2018 movie) where the field on Camazotz suddenly transforms into a forest was legit scary
unlabelledView post →A Wrinkle in Time wasn’t a Walden film (I think?) but I know Evangelicals criticized its author for believing that God could save everyone, even those who weren’t Christian. And the film adaptation cut out all the Christian references anyway.
unlabelledView post →Speaking of Reese Witherspoon, remember when they made that A Wrinkle in Time movie in 2018 and were like "hey kids, do you like Oprah and Reese Witherspoon?" and nobody saw the movie?
unlabelledView post →Much of A Wrinkle in Time's power lies in Meg's inner struggles, which trust readers to engage deeply. Both film adaptations lost this, simplifying emotions—problems that went beyond just budget limits. #AWrinkleInTime #Disney #books #ReadingCommunity #fyp youtube.com/shorts/JFHG5...
unlabelledView post →This is one of my favorite childhood books, I couldn't even make it halfway thru the movie before turning it off. And don't even get me started on what Disney did to A Wrinkle in Time
unlabelledView post →Damn... Makes the fact that she also played Mrs. Who in the 2018 "A Wrinkle In Time" movie sting even more...
unlabelledView post →"Tuck Everlasting" turns 50 (though if you've read the book, you know some of the characters are much older than that). If you were a 70s or 80s kid, this was likely assigned reading, along with "A Wrinkle in Time" and "Bridge to Terabithia." A classic (there's a fairly good film version from 2002).
