Known for his incredible titles A Golden Wake, Shardlight, Lamplight City, and Rosewater, join him for a masterclass discussion in writing and designing point & click adventures! LIRetro.com
unlabelledView post →I think out of all the Grundislav Games, most people sleep on A Golden Wake. Lamplight City and Rosewater have the most "game" elements, with mysteries to solve and epic adventures to have, but A Golden Wake is sneakier. It's a point-and-click about the 1920s Florida land boom, and that's cool!
unlabelledView post →80% off makes A Golden Wake $1.99 on Steam and that is a righteous steal for one of the most interesting and original adventure games of the last 20 years. Fantasy is fine. Sci-fi is good. But 1920s Florida is about as unique a setting imaginable for an adventure game. It's a gem!
unlabelledView post →A Golden Wake is an underrated gem. Unique setting for a point and click adventure game.

unlabelledView post →Re: development time, it seems each game I’ve done has taken longer than the last. A Golden Wake took about 2 years, Shardlight took a little over 1 year (because I wasn’t doing everything), Lamplight City took 2.5 years, and Rosewater has been in development for nearly 6!

unlabelledView post →I'll add I also like pretty much anything I've played by Francisco Gonzalez, including A Golden Wake and Shardlight, and his far earlier 8-part Ben Jordan series is a great way to see his growth as an adventure game developer in the Adventure Game Studio freeware scene!
unlabelledView post →Going into the deeper cuts from the Wadjet Eye Games library, I truly recommend trying out: -Primordia -Gemini Rue -Resonance -Technobabylon -The Excavation of Hob's Barrow I also enjoyed Shardlight, A Golden Wake and the quite disturbing Sanitarium-style psychological horror game Strangeland.

unlabelledView post →A Golden Wake by @grundislavgames.bsky.social I recently played and completed this adventure game, highly recommended! If you're a fan of early 90's Sierra-style point-and-clicks, don't miss out on this one. Lovely art and an excellent soundtrack. It's currently on sale too! 🎮

unlabelledView post →Well we beat A Golden Wake and it was a hell of a ride. Easily a 8 out of 10 adventure game. Solid puzzles, fun story, lovely artwork. Grundislav should be very proud of it. Next up we have a Sierra adventure game. It is going to be a fun one!

unlabelledView post →Companion's Of Xanth was a pretty fun game over all, only one puzzle stood out as being terrible. 8 out of 10 for me. A Golden Wake is a blast so far and I can't wait to stream more of it on Friday. Thursday RPG stream will be more Genie's Curse!
unlabelledView post →I honestly think it's the best detective game ever made. Personally, A Golden Wake wasn't my favorite (though I've replayed it several times and have grown to like it more)... but Lamplight City is similar in all the ways Golden Wake was good... except LC is better. By a lot, IMO.
unlabelledView post →A Golden Wake was my first commercial game and is somewhat rough around the edges so I’d say try that one first. Lamplight City and Rosewater are set in the same world and though Rosewater isn’t a direct sequel, the references will make more sense if you play Lamplight City first.

unlabelledView post →Went back and completed the achievements I missed in A Golden Wake, some I came so close to getting others I don't' think I would ever get on stream. The only one left is playing the game through with the commentary on, I think I will save that for later.

unlabelledView post →Viewers pick pretty much every game that I play via a promotion and voting system, but I have played Quest for Infamy and Order of the Thorne. I have yet to play A Golden Wake, but it is up the viewers to make it happen. The only games that I tend to pick are short (< 1 hour) games.
unlabelledView post →Have you played all the P&C adventures that came out this year? Looking for something different? How about a game set in Roarin' 20's Miami real estate? A Golden Wake is 89% off!!!!
unlabelledView post →#AGoldenWake is getting weird. The protagonist felt not appreciated by his slimeball boss and decided to work for the mafia instead. Right, that makes... sense... I guess...? Now I enable him making death threats to people not paying protection money or not paying back their credit on time. And I got gunned down by a nice grandma running a bakery. #IndieGaming #AdventureGaming
unlabelledView post →Playing #AGoldenWake, an #IndieGame, pixel style #AdventureGame from 2014. Appreciate the real-world setting. So far, I see myself swindling other characters our of business, all of whom seem much more moral and upstanding than my own protagonist. I wonder whether the game will reflect that later on. Because so far, honestly, it does not give the impression there will be much of a twist coming.
