60 of 180 · most liked firstIt's a really cute gimmick, but with very scattershot support for games. If you're interested, I would really encourage first checking if it supports enough games that you'd like to re-experience with a little novelty factor added. (A list is available at https://steamcommunity.com/app/954280/discussions/0/1643170903498517164/ ) As interesting as the 3D filter is as a technical achievement, as an emulator, 3dSen is pretty feature-poor and has a very amateurish UI, and I don't think the added…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would pay a lot of money for a SNES one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excited for the 1.0 but even before that I have loved this unique twist in emulation. What’s undersold is that making games 3D came allow for different ways of tilting the game field, or even zooming in, that really does change how it plays. For example, I zoomed in on Super Mario 3 so it felt a little more like was playing widescreen. Tilting the screen in Jackal made it feel more like behind-the-shoulder gameplay than top-down. It’s cool!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's been a full year since the last update. It's not a comprehensive emulator that allows for full nes library play. While what you have is admittedly very cool, you should probably buy this with the mentality that what you get is what you get, and that you shouldn't expect many, if any updates on it in the future.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If I could do a mixed review, I would. It's kinda cool for a few minutes trying different (supported) games. It's literally just a visual gimmick for $7-$15, and that's it, but that is exactly what it advertises itself as. How much do you really even want your NES / Famicom games in psuedo-3D? Worth trying if you think you might be interested, you can always refund it. Personally, I'd rather just use a more accurate, mature, FREE, 2D emulator, like FCEUX or NEStopia, if not just use my…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not the biggest fan of NES games as their too limited, but I love how this is like playing with a shadow box! I hope this studio makes a Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, or DOS 3dsen.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been using and enjoying it. Had a bit of trouble initially because I was using Headerless ROMs, so just make sure you're using Headered ROMs and don't be like me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3dSen, developed and published by Geod Studio, is one of those rare gaming projects that immediately communicates its purpose through a single glance. It’s not a game in the traditional sense, nor is it just another NES emulator—it's a reinterpretation of retro gaming itself. Its core function is deceptively simple: take classic 2D NES titles and convert them into fully navigable, three-dimensional diorama-like spaces. Yet the impact of that transformation is profound. For anyone who grew up on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NOBODY TELL NINTENDO
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →sen is nes backwards
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally I can play Rad Racer in 3d with the 3d glasses mode enabled along with using the Power Glove for maximum immersion
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a neat gimmick for sure. It offers little else. Some games are more difficult in this perspective to be honest. As it stands there's only about 80 games that can be used, plus some from user generated "3D profiles." The User Interface for the emulator is not well explained either. It doesn't offer any overview for how anything works and the interface is very cheap looking/feeling. It took me a few minutes of poking around in order to even understand how to open a ROM within the UI.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Praying that they make a future release for the SNES, that would be the best thing ever
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Missing some absolutely key games, but I'm not gonna lie, had a huge smile on my face the whole time. I hope it gets more content...and some game genie support!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ambitious project, but not enough classic games are supported yet.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now I'm playing with power. Emulation power
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an emulator like no other, it transforms NES games into a 2.5D experience, results vary in quality depending on the game though keep in mind. It seems to struggle particularly if an auto scroller is involved. Some highlights include Castlevania and Super Mario Bros. I'm still exploring the various possibilities of this emulator, I wish there were more updates and games added to the compatibility list.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is amazing haha! Playing bubble bobble in 3d is a trip for sure!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now I can play Super Mario Bros 3. and Legend of Zelda in 3D! <3 (Would love to see a SNES version)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This might legitimately be the coolest thing I have ever owned gaming software wise, and I've got like 1,000 titles available in my library.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best 'new' way to play old NES games... Some games you can rotate the screen look at an angle for a true 3D feel like Punchout. All I can say is just get it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is pretty neat. Some audio issues in some games, most noticable in Mega Man 1 Ice man stage. Can't wait to watch this blossom, would love to see Sweet Home on here!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been checking this out since it was in beta, and having grown up with the NES, this is an incredible new way to play and see the games that shaped my childhood. This isn't just an emulator. This is a whole new vision!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wasnt bad but doesnt support widescreen (Only 4:3) and has about 50-60 games that it works with. If this supported 16:9 and at least a couple hundred games, then it would be worth it. It doesnt even work with SMB2? Its capable with 1 and 3, but not 2.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While development is slow, there is development, as this is a one-man's project I give it the thumbs up and hope it keeps going without nintendo messing around with this guy!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great way to see your classic games differently. In some games, they feel completely new.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Words can say how good this tool is, my only bad blood is I wish it worked with more NES games and also supported SNES, GBA and Gensis games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Use a Wiimote like a mouse for the Zapper games! I used GlovePIE
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →flickering graphics to the point of unplayability and nonfunctioning controls made me refund
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why didn't Nintendo think of that? They should hire you!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's a fun gimmick for a NES Emulator
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ngl, I love the concept of this app. The fact that you can play NES games in 3D mode is dope as ♥♥♥♥. I really hope the developer adds more supported systems or different emulators with the same concept. I never thought the 3D effect would be *this* effective. It honestly reminds me of those YouTube videos of guys trying to recreate NES games in 3D — except now I’m actually playing that concept, and it works so well. Honestly, it’s 100% worth supporting the dev by purchasing it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When you start playing, prepare to be wowed. A real eye candy treat that takes games you've played probably dozens of times into some new and fresh territory. Hopefully most games will be supported one day, but what's here is pretty dang neat. If you watched the videos on YouTube and were wowed, just wait till your playing them. Highly recommended!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very cool concept, but it isn't all great. Some games stutter pretty badly. When SMB is losing frames, that says something. I'm running far more demanding games and programs on this pooter, it's not a hardware thing. I am happy that I got this though, and hopefully with some tweaks it will eventually run perfectly. I'm looking forward to updates. Good: It works! Yes the initial library is limited, but they have software to make your own profiles. So there. It's a cool way to play games I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun emulator for my childhood games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome NES emulator, also works with ROM Hacks!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the 3d effect of nes games its pog champ.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's limited in terms of what games are supported unless you want to take the work to put the work on profiles or you download them from creators, but it's kind of cool to see what NES games could look like. If you're a fan of NES games, it might be worth checking this out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome for any old school Nintendo fan.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What the actual ♥♥♥♥ tho. My man built Moving Playable 3D works of art that Run off of Ancient, Nearly 40 year old Technology. It's insane. I can't explain it. it genuinely makes these old games feel new again and It has completely blown me away
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Needs a Startropics mode, and a Snake Rattle n' Roll mode, and a Solstice mode. Otherwise, cool.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The fact you can even import most romhacks into 3DSen is very neat! I imported one of my custom SMB1 hacks made using GreatED and it worked like a charm!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tried 6 games and all of them were SUPER buggy. Game would hang and would take 10-15 seconds to catch up constantly. Not ready for prime time sadly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Most roms don't work. Might as well play a on a free emulator.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →$10 Dollar Emulator
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Limited game support. Great idea, but seems like a great candidate for an indefinite Early Access - at least for the next decade or two, which is what it would likely take them to support a decent amount of the NES catalog. Presumed that there was some level of added coding for these games, but apparently each and every single game requires bespoke profiles. No BreakThru or even Castlequest :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Totally recommend this to everyone who loves the forever Retro games of them 8-bit days that the Nintendo Entertainment System had to offer. This not only plays them as is (2-D) or if your game has a 3-Dsen profile made specifically for your game, you can see a new depth of love given to them sweet 8-bit sprites and their world surroundings! Immerse yourself once again within the digital baby stage of video-game history and play, have fun with a whole new look!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing, but it lacks a turbo button and more games converted to 3D. Now I want a Megadrive/Genesis 3D.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It lets you play Shatterhand in 3D.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →lots of fun and more games coming ...very much worth it...great work on the development
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This ♥♥♥♥ is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ confusing, the menu is stupidly bugged and i had to fight a LOT to make this thing load the legend of zelda after that it simply didnt wanted to load Super Mario Bros and i decided to uninstall it and the worst thing of all this ♥♥♥♥ is that i cant ask for a refund cuz i have this poor emulator picking up dust on my steam library since 2021 .- Maya Schoppenboer
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its old school NES in 3D whats not to like?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was intrigued by the premise of the software. Play NES classic games in 3D. Thought, what the heck, it's on sale, lets give it a go. Played Circus Charlie and it was full of graphical glitches. The sprites randomly disappearing, controller support was wonky (playing on a ps5 controller, no start of select button functionality). There was a red dot that looked like a dead pixel on my screen but it was a graphical glitch from the game because when you moved the camera around, the dead pixel moved…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know why the hell I came across this only months after releasing but PRAISE THE SUN because I did. What an absolute blast playing Duck Tales, Dragon Quest, Megaman, Metroid and so many others in a 3D voxel world, even being able to rotate the screen and zoom in or out. This is a MUST for those who love NES games. Their native support is expanding and I'm yet to test if the engine supports modded games but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ what a piece of divine work it is already.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great way to experience classics in a truly unique way turns older games from 2d to 3d
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →need help i bought this emulator and i cant find any games to download to it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Damn, this is cool
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The effect is cool. And in case it helps anyone else, it didn't like my 8bitdo controller being in Switch mode. Had to set it to xinput, that let me do menus, then had to rebind buttons cuz default was wrong/missing some.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →once you get over the fact that the interface can barely be navigated by a game pad and see the quiet dead community the gimmick wears off
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It looks great, and it's a good excuse to replay some of my favorite NES games for the 100th time.
