28 Weeks Later
Twenty-eight weeks after the spread of a deadly rage virus, the inhabitants of the British Isles have lost their battle against the onslaught, as the virus has killed everyone there. Six months later, a group of Americans dare to set foot on the Isles, convinced the danger has passed. But it soon becomes all too clear that the scourge continues to live, waiting to pounce on its next victims. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →I tell people there are only 4 truly great Iraq war movies, the fourth one made by Joe: 28 Weeks Later In The Loop by @aiannucci.bsky.social Starship Troopers (which ofc came out in the 1990s) Smokin’ Aces (which I think even some of its stars still don’t know was an Iraq war movie
unlabelledView post →I tell you what - 28 Days Later is probably the better overall film, but i VIVIDLY remember watching that opening scene of 28 Weeks Later in the cinema I still have scars from clenching my fists with anxiety!! I'm excited for 28 Years Later :)

unlabelledView post →Rewatched 28 WEEKS LATER and holy shit is this way worse than I remember. What starts as a very promising visceral horror film about survivor’s guilt and rebuilding post-apocalypse gets completely railroaded by characters just making the dumbest decisions imaginable. Harsh comedown from 28 DAYS.
unlabelledView post →28 Weeks Later is coming out soon. Also the FDA in the USA has stopped testing food. Do you think it's the Film or is it going to be the real event?
unlabelledView post →Movie time! 28 Weeks Later! Super excited to see the zock/zick/zenis!
unlabelledView post →28 Weeks Later is such an odd movie (not in a bad way). The setup doesn't really offer a clear trajectory, so the plot ends up feeling loose and episodic. Some decent set pieces, though, and that opening sequence really is a tour de force. I forgot how stacked the cast is.

unlabelledView post →An underrated sequel with an iconic opening. Action-packed and full of intense scenes. Not without its faults, but I love it. So fun to rewatch. #filmsky My ★★★★½ review of 28 Weeks Later on @letterboxd: boxd.it/81L6dx
unlabelledView post →My horror-savvy movie-making 11 watched 28 Days Later, no problem. So we tried 28 Weeks Later, & it was much more jump-scare plus one scene too awful-gory even for a Walking Dead fan. What's early word on 28 Years? (People scolding my for WD & 28 Days will be blocked)

unlabelledView post →28 Days Later got all the love for revitalizing zombie movies but for me 28 Weeks Later is the one. Deeply sad, mean movie that thinks through the conceit in thrilling, experimental ways

unlabelledView post →Rewatching 28 Days Later was fun. Twenty minutes into 28 Weeks Later, and I completely forgot (or didn't know at the time) how packed this movie is with familiar faces. That opening sequence was pretty great. Most excited about the "Years" movies, but I'll enjoy this too. #MovieSky #HorrorSky
unlabelledView post →Watching 28 Weeks Later and my God this film is a pile of crap. The geography of it must be stupid even if you live in the US. It’s fine, we’ve run through Wapping snd St Paul’s and Westminster and now we’re in a weird park. Next stop, Wembley!
unlabelledView post →28 Weeks Later (2007). A good Iraq metaphor that depressingly is about to become a good Iran metaphor but a strange film in that I liked it well enough but I still don't know if 28 Days needed a sequel or this sequel. But going to see 28 Years Later so. Impressively nasty too.

unlabelledView post →28 Years Later (2025) 5/5 🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀 Reason: Can be talk. Seems some dislike this movie because not action/fight with zombies enough like 28 Days Later/28 Weeks Later. I’m getting bored of zombie killing action movies because they’re similar. Comment: Emotional, almost made me cry. Great movie!

unlabelledView post →Rewatching 28 Weeks Later and boy it isn’t any better second time. A deeply unfun movie with no real people in it and no point or view. Just a series of people you neither know nor care about making stupid decisions, with the exception of the first 10 min.
unlabelledView post →Revisiting 28 WEEKS LATER in anticipation of YEARS This movie, and its predecessor, were hugely foundational for me It’s holding up quite well. Juan Carlos Fresnadillo hugely talented. Wish he had a more robust career. (I should check out his latest, DAMSEL)
unlabelledView post →28 Years Later IS specifically about post-Brexit Britain but 28 Weeks Later is an allegory for the failed US reconstruction of Iraq and 28 Days Later is mainly just an apocalyptic zombie movie
unlabelledView post →28 Weeks Later is such a funny film, the idea of reconstruction efforts in Britain beginning SIX MONTHS after we all got wiped out by a fucking zombie virus is so absurd
unlabelledView post →This reminded me that I still haven’t seen 28 Years Later. I saw 28 Days Later just this year; phenomenal. Spectacular film. That’s one of my fave Letterboxd posts, actually. 28 Weeks Later? Um. Well. Great gowns, beautiful gowns… 😂😂

unlabelledView post →Just booked our tickets for 28 Weeks Later, 28 Years Later, and my solo ticket for Peppa Pig's new film (because I'm dying to talk about the recent Mummy Pig controversy where a fictional pig gave fictional birth in a private clinic, in this economy, & then had to address the uproar from UK public)
unlabelledView post →After a streak of good and enjoyable movies (Nope, The Boy and the Heron, Rebel Ridge) we have now seen a movie that was neither. 28 Weeks Later was terrible. I am shocked.
unlabelledView post →I ended up going to see 28 Years Later last night. I'm a huge fan of the first movie, 28 Days Later. The 2nd movie, 28 Weeks Later, is not stellar. But it has its moments, and was a respectable second outting for a new franchise. This new movie? Y'all. This is a travesty.

unlabelledView post →I haven't seen many people point out the similarities and differences between Don and Samson. Say what you want about 28 Weeks Later, but showing a freshly infected Don's POV for the entirety of the film was revolutionary. I can't get into spoilers, but Samson hits those notes in a different way. ☣️

unlabelledView post →It's been a while since I've watched 28 Weeks Later, so last night I went into a rewatch of it with an open mind, because I could only assume my negative feelings towards it were being influenced by time and my deep fondness for the first movie. BUT NO it was worse than I remembered. Holy shit.
unlabelledView post →2025 watch #97: 28 Weeks Later. A phenomenal opening sequence gives way to a disappointingly conventional movie heavy on the jump scares. I suspect I'd be less annoyed by if it were a standalone feature and not a sequel to a much more artful film.
