And on the right, a George Morrow cartoon from Punch in 1923 called Writing A Love Letter In The Neolithic Age. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoMW...

unlabelledView post →Whenever I’m reminded of that fact I think of the movie 10,000 BC, in which mammoths were hauling stones for the pyramids. I forgive that movie all its terrible historical inaccuracies because in my mind it’s not historical, it’s Sid Meier’s Civilization: The Movie.
unlabelledView post →23/365 #OFAD challenge. Today's film - 10,000 BC. This one is basically Stargate without the cool Stargate shit. #10000bc #rolandemmerich #stargate #scifi #cavemen
unlabelledView post →Worth noting: This information is discovered in a film canister that Bugs finds, labeled (and narrated) as being from 10,000 BC, to be opened in 1960 AD. While clearly not the intent, it’s a possible interpretation that he just stumbled on someone’s amateur film project.

unlabelledView post →Our Pyramids episode is here! Featuring various tangents about ancient Egyptian history & a flashback to watching 10,000 BC (a deeply incorrect film). Plus timey wimey stuff and mathsy words. An interesting story with good riffing but no railing. diningtablediscworld.podbean.com/e/dining-tab...

The initial disappointment upon seeing #horseriding was tangible. But can you imagine our reaction to the #Egypt pyramids scenes 😂 I want to cleanse my memory! #FilmSky
unlabelledView post →I dunno, the film 10,000 BC convinces me that maybe, just maybe, mankind had the choice to develop Toyota Hilux Technicals and instead chose dreadlocks. Which, to be fair, I would probably make the same choice.
unlabelledView post →’10,000 BC’ (2008), UMD, £1. Not a particularly well thought-of movie, but think of it as an update on the old sword’n’sandal/Harryhausen efforts, and all will be well. Stars Steven Strait, who went on to be Holden in ‘The Expanse’. #physicalmedia #sonypsp #umd #10,000bc #stevenstrait #theexpanse

I don't care who tells me I'm wrong, I liked 10,000 BC, I disliked The Batman, and Quantumania was my favorite movie of 2023. Why? It doesn’t matter.
unlabelledView post →10,000 BC was a terrible* movie in a lot of ways, but it left me with one of my favorite paladin-code quotes and a beautiful cat.

(2008) - Christopher and Tom do their best to make some sense of this mammoth 2008 box office hit, but find that the only thing B.C. could stand for is "Bad Cinema". #PodNation #MovieReview #Podcast #10000BC #RolandEmmerich https://www.timeshifterspodcast.com/10000-b-c-2008/
unlabelledView post →I don't know if you remember Roland Emmerich's 10,000 BC, but I remember Michael Phillips describing that movie as "10,000 pounds of cheese on a cracker" and saying he's sometimes in the mood for that.
unlabelledView post →I've accepted that for the most part, NO historical film will ever fully capture a person's dialect, especially those taking place in an era before microphones. BUT sometimes there are some films that are especially questionable like 10,000 BC.
unlabelledView post →004 | I'm watching the #history of #humanity in cinema. Asking questions and looking for answers. 10,000 BC: 💩💩💩 This film makes me thankful… I fell asleep the first time I watched it, so at least I’ve only wasted 109 minutes of my life on it once. Join my journey: shorturl.at/AkuFR #moviesky
unlabelledView post →003.1 | Also like to add, I only watched episodes 1-4, because #SPOILERS. Don't give away the ending. I'm only technically at 10,000 BC in humanities timeline! More on that gem of a #film (/s) later.

unlabelledView post →Oddly enough, 10,000 BC was the movie that got me interested in human prehistory/evolution. I wanted to write a better stone age story. The research rabbit hole is deeper and more interesting than it initially seemed. Experts probably agree. :)

unlabelledView post →Watching 10,000 BC is always so intriguing to me, because literally everybody in the movie are POC except the 2 main characters. But yet they're supposed to be part of a tribe with a bunch of people who look indigenous American
unlabelledView post →"Epic" in so much as Emmerich films always are, but that's not to be confused with "good". If you want to learn something true, or feel an emotion, look elsewhere. But if poking a mammoth with a stick is more your thing, you could probably handle 10,000 B.C. Final rating:★★ - Had some things that appeal to me, but a poor finished product.
