60 of 238 · most liked firstAs someone with over 1000 hours in Wizard of Legend 1, top 3 in the pvp community there, and someone who has worked with the developer's of 2 (slightly, I helped identify a few major bugs, and recorded a few unused voicelines) I can say that this game is the least faithful second game a franchise has ever made, it does not feel like wizard of legend 1, and if you enjoyed 1 and are looking for a similarly cathartic experience, you will find nothing but slop here, so much less, for a more…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you have the first Wizard of Legend? Did you ever find yourself playing it and think 'Man, this game's mechanics are just too slick, and the animation style is just too elegant.'"? Did you find yourself wishing you could trade some of the mechanical slickness for solidly middling 3D graphics, though still made to imitate essentially the same 2D graphics, voice actors reading a hundred non sequiturs, but otherwise just the same game? Well, have I got a game for you! TL;DR: If you have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Devoid of nearly all the soul of the original. I understand its a different team working on the game, and the changes to the rougelite loop are honestly things I'm open to, however in the face of unrewarding progression, and with more than half of the Arcana and Relics being cut from the original game, it really saddens me to say that this entry feels like a step backward. Huge fan of Children of Morta, and WOL 1, Having had an amazing bonding experience years ago with a close friend while…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What is this joke ? Wizard of Legend wasn't perfect but it had two things, TWO : - no IFrame when dashing - no progression, everything was based on skill The only TWO things that made the game are out, replaced by - generic cartoonish graphics - same IFrame while dashing that any dozen and dozen action roguelites - generic average music, at least keep Dale North ! When you listen to Astral Ascent, you can spot in a second the amazing music, why not keep him ? - terrible voiceover with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not my Wizard of Legend. The first game had so much life and love put into it. This is a shell of what this game once was. This game is riddled with bugs, poor voice acting, and just disappointing to play. Contingent99 please take your IP back from Dead Mage and give it the sequel it deserves
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved Wizard of Legend. It's controls were tight and responsive, it's art was stylish, and the replay value is near infinite. Unfortunately, Wizards of legend 2 not only lacks the style, it lacks the polish. Arcana vary wildly in their potency, with some upgraded ones feeling powerful, and others feeling worse than their basic counterparts. The art style is fairly generic in a post-Hades world, and for just $5 more, you may as well play Hades II instead. I don't think this game needed more…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's very obvious this was made by a different developer, because while it resembles Wizard of Legend, it doesn't actually capture what made Wizard of Legend fun. In fact, it might not capture anything fun at all. The snappiness of the original title is gone; replaced with inane, incessant dialogue spoken by characters we care nothing for nor about, and are never given reason to. The clear, clean visual style is lost in the murk of the extra shadows they added to everything as if hoping they'd…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it simply does not capture the charm of the first game it feels watered down, sluggish and corpo
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved the first game so much I decided to gamble with this game and lost the bet. This game is worse in every way from the first, afull repetitive random generation, poor animation style, repeat of the og bosses but with strange voices and worse animations, game is way easier, spells are worse and not as cool as the first. The game is extremlly short, beatable in 30 minutes, and extremlly buggy. Nearly every run when playing multiplayer my character gets softlocked so I have to either close…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First impression of gameplay is good. Skills feel well done with good variety. Graphics and sound atmossphere is nice. But it has a lot of issues. If you want to play online multiplayer I can not recommend this game. Netcode is horrible, because it is not client side. Many animations are broken for online multiplayer. Desync is quite heavy. It took several attempts to start a run without the UI glitchting out. Also you can not reconnect. Some resource are shared, some are not. Which feels bad…

unlabelledView post →A total disrespect to the first game. Dead Mage took over and managed to turn it into a soulless, generic copy of Hades, at least in terms of gameplay. Instead of fixing and properly finishing the game, you chose the quickest way possible just to deliver a “1.0 prototype.” I won’t be buying anything from this studio again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you wanted this to play online co-op with a friend then I wouldn't recommend this game. It isn't "Wizard of Legend II" it's more of a "Wizard of Legend Remastered" but with more bugs. The online co-op is glitchy, your movement will get stuck at every cutscene and things generally don't work as you expect them to. With that being said, I still enjoy the game and would genuinely recommend playing it if you liked Wizard of Legend. Just know that this game is basically the first game, but in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not as good as the first. Spells dont play as well. Controls arent as tight. Just go buy and play the first one its better in every way.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rough launch and no end in sight. Over a year later time to finally let go. Would absolutely refund if I had the option
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →𝕎𝕚𝕫𝕒𝕣𝕕𝕤 𝕠𝕗 𝕋ℝ𝔸𝕊ℍ I haven't yet played the first game, but this one seems like it's had a ton of great ideas but failed dismally at implementing them, which created this dull, boring resemblance of a game where all you do is go through the same lamentable 5 levels over and over again, praying RNG is on your side. My biggest issue is that the game often feels like it's fighting me rather than challenging me. Enemies can feel obnoxious rather than genuinely interesting, and getting…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't waste your money, the game was abandoned after version 1.0, won't get any more content and the launch content is pretty basic, just play wizard of legend 1, that one is pretty good
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those moments where having a sequel is unnecessary. Wizards of Legend didn’t need a continuation or compete with Hades 1 and Hades 2 since this game officially came 3 months before Hades 2 in 2025. After playing several hours of it, I felt more annoyed and unfulfilled than anything else because I’m basically doing the same thing I did in the last game, but with more restraints, limitations and surrounded my NPCs that never STFU. So I’m going to elucidate why this game is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had much hope for this game. First, they released it in a terrible state with limited stuff. Alot was missing from the first game. Some updates helped to make the game feel a little bit closer to the first WoL but it still doesn't feel as smooth. Graphics are fine. More comic style compared to the first one which is ok but wasn't neccassary in my opinion. Last update was July 2025 so it's safe to safe the game is abandoned with ALOT of stuff missing from the first WoL which was promised to be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is actually good despite reviews. The game is fun and works perfectly fine in singleplayer. I have encountered bugs but nothing game breaking so far. I believe that the main reason the reviews are so negative is that there is a lot of content that you unlock after replaying the game so many times. It is kind of annoying knowing I have to do another 2 runs just to unlock badges or just to unlock whatever else. In the first game some of these things you just had from the start, but now…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's definitely a downgrade in most ways. Visually and mechanically there are huge improvements but most of the heart and soul of the game first game just isn't there. It's very obvious that they took a popular IP and threw more money at it after giving it to someone else. More expensive does not equal better. There are cool bones to this game but there's no passion in it. It's easier than the first one with less variety and more constraints. The spell augment options are very cool but…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tl:dr: I want to like it buuuuuut.... Pros: Kept the spirit of its predecessor and the gameplay feels like a natural evolution into the third dimension. Has 4-player co-op instead of just 2-player. Character models, effects, overall graphics are good, lots of attention to detail in the level design, worlds feel lively, etc. Is game. Neutral/personal gripe: You can easily tell this is not from the developers of the original. Although it's a sequel, it feels very much like a derivative fan…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What the hell is even this? Hades at home? It's nothing like the first game, it tries to have the dynamic of Hades but fails, and it feels more like I'm playing a bad Diablo clone, so I ask myself why am I playing this instead of Diablo. Insufferable millennial writing is the final nail in the coffin.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Devs abandoned the game with no updates, and no bug fixes. The first game is so much better in everyway. Steer clear, there are many others like this game that are way better than Wizard of Legend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game feels unfinished. It also lacks the charm of the original. The fact that there are still soft locks caused by map generation is insane. Can't recommend as it is now.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolute trash abandonware. They took everything in the original game and just made it worse. Don't waste your money. Buy the first game instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy, unpolished, and sad. I want to like this game. I want to play this with all my friends. I love the franchise, but when I first played there were real issues with the map, and the movement controls. Imagine my surprise when I try to play the game again months later and the issues are still there. Please fix the bugs and I will change my review. In the mean time I suggest playing SWORN or Ravenswatch, both are much better CO-OP games within the same genre.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To be honest, I'm very disappointed in this game as of late. I played WoL 1 and had a wonderful time with the charm and difficulty of the game. This game felt easier which i chalked up to me just being a little older and having better skill overall. However the real issue comes after all that when, much to my disappointment, the game hasn't been updated or even gotten patches in almost a year, after promising to release more content. Id take it all back if i was proven wrong. but I'm losing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately, the game did not live up to the success of the first. Like others have stated, the lack of updates, combined with game breaking bugs, makes replaying the game frustrating and boring. Personally, I don't consider the "update" to the graphics a plus. The art style of the first game is what drew me in. I'd recommend just playing the first.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad Game. Difficulty non-linear. The skill and item price increase for nothing but only used to consume your time. Wasting time to play with repeated and non balanced game. Some skills are op, and some skills are totally trash. DONT BUY THIS GAME. Change your money into coin and throw to river will be better than buy this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing the first part of Wizard of Legends, I had high hopes for this game. Unfortunately, the game is not worth the price. Luckily, I paid €2.50, so I don't feel too bad about overpaying. Movement is clunky, and enemy animations are too fast and unclear. Non-player characters can't shut up and are annoying as hell. The shopkeeper constantly talks about how his wife left him (valid). I do not recommend this game to anyone.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WARNING: this game's final achievement "Wizard of Legend" (earned by getting every other achievement) is currently bugged and won't pop at all, so if you're an achievement hunter give this game a wide berth. As for the game itself, it's unfortunate, but the reality is that it's inferior in pretty much every aspect to the previous game: - They changed the story and characters from the demo, opting for bland dialogues and characters over the original concepts where every item talked and every…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game was abandoned, just ignore it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4/10 Game. Cleared it, got all the arcanas,... it is what it is. The game has so many bugs, it is infuriating. Stuff like re-enabling character movements after falling into a pit is not that difficult to fix but hasnt been fixed ever since this thing released. The same goes for: - The controller regularly stopping to work in the summary screen after a run. - Relics not triggering, this is the most obvious with all revenge effects and life-steal-on-attack effects. - Knock-back damage doesnt…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So many bad reviews of this game are comparing it to the first one, I totally get that because I loved the first game, played it a ton, got all the arcana and relics and blah blah blah. Let me tell you, comparing this game to the first game, it will always lose, the first game was a pioneer of roguelike popularity, and it really showed the best of the best. A LOT of games will lose to that game just because its that good. This game is different, its made by different people, its a GREAT…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awful character progression. 10 Relic limit are you kidding me? Gameplay is decent but its gets stale. There needs to be more ways to customize your skills or upgrade them in the base area. Game has potential but its stale right now with no replay value
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Above Average but Not Top Tier. Has a Good Foundation. Wizard of Legend 2 taken on its own delivers a above average action roguelike experience; however, it’s plagued by an accumulation of little drawbacks that setback the end result. Graphically the game looks pretty good; enemy variety is high enough that it doesn’t feel like you’re fighting the same type too much and the background biomes stick around for just long enough that you are familiar but not tired of them. Similarly, there is a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →extremely sad to leave this review got the game on EA launch, decided to let it cook for a while cause i was underwhelmed by the offerings early on and found the balance pretty lacking surprised to see that it was "released" with what seemed like very few patches added to the game tried to play, keep running into truly wild bugs (falling into pits removes my ability to move/use arcana until i take damage, for example), really don't see how this game could ever be considered "finished", but…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →nothining on the first, was waiting for more content but nothing for a year now
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've never played Wizard of Legend 1, WoL2 alone is a game with potential. However, the game super unpolished I get stuck on wall dashing very frequently. Sometimes my skill don't triggered, when I clicked on it. The game overall not very responsive. I don't recommend buying this game now. just save your money and buy something better. The dev haven't update this game in ages, Please do not buy the game it just straight ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game. I played a bit of the first Wizard of Legend, but I enjoyed the sequel much more. The graphics are great, the gameplay feels smooth, and the variety of skills makes testing different builds really satisfying. The Good: Combat: The skills are cool and the bosses are fun to fight. Co-op: Playing with friends is chaotic in the best way possible. Progression: The learning curve is fair. Beating the game depends a bit on RNG (getting the right relics), but it feels rewarding. Notes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game just doesn't feel very good compared to the original. Seems like some enemies have no wind up on their attacks right after they're done being interrupted or pushed back by the player. Spearmen on later levels are good examples of this, they even hit you through walls. Most spells feel useless even with variants and upgrades. Builds now feel less diverse than WOL1
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I usually don't review games but this game I had a lot of hope for this game. The game itself is fun and very familiar but it does not feel as polished as the first game. Difficulty is an issue in this game where the harder modes just aren't really worth anything unless you want a harder challenge for rewards that you will eventually cap out at. Now on to the reason why I don't recommend this game and its the bugs. I am writing this after having a bug which crashed my game(which has happened…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Take this review with a grain of salt as others give far more detailed explinations on whats wrong, I just play games to enjoy them. This game is fun at first, don't get me wrong. plenty of Arcana you can mix and match, bosses are fun too. but it doesn't feel anything like the first one, which hey- that may be the whole point of the game, to be different to what it used to be. I'd love and I mean LOVE to see this game get proper love from th eteams behind it and see proper updates. I wanted…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WoL 2 feels like if a group of people had the first game described to them entirely from memory, waited a year and then tried to make a game based on that memory of a memory. the audio design, from music to UI elements, is frustratingly boring. with none of the music particularly standing out. the visuals, while not inherently a bad thing to experiment, ultimately detract from the overall experience as they lack a level of polish and, personally, i find this particular type of isometric…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just buy the first game, it's miles better than this
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved wizard of legend 1 and had high hopes for the sequel but it's not even close. Not worth it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →abandonware and not like WoL1
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bosses just feel like they do to much attacking and or damage feels worse than the first game and the arcana you can use feel so much weaker or even difficult to hit at times. I would honestly just scrap the whole game and remake the first with more bosses and or areas.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look how they massacred my boy (っ◞‸◟ c) The first game was so much better. This new one is barely recognizable RIP Wizard of Legend, you will be mist
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dear god the difficulty spike between enemies and bosses is just terrible. They have no variation of spells in this game Like they basically only have the basic four spells for each element. the permanent progression is just NOT THERE you can get relics and stuff but you can only take one in and every time you play you start from the very beginning and you CANNOT upgrade your spells permanently. I would call it a grindfest but you aren't grinding toward anything. Just don't get this game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played the original to make sure, and yeah, this one is worse in basically every single way. I could forgive a lot about this game if it wasn't for them ruining the combat, it doesn't feel like it has a flow or any rhythm to it at all, doesn't feel like I'm having any impact at all, all of the spells feel very stunted and never feel like they flow into another.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bosses design are really off, they dont telegraph their attacks well so it ends up being just frustrating to play. I get that its a rogue like and its meant to be hard, but its simply not very satisfying to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game. Unfortunately, everything the first game was, this one is not. The animation is the most uninspired Hades slop possible. The attacks and mechanics seem totally unchanged from the first game The map design is absolutely uninspired The arenas themselves are poorly parsed, and it is easy to get locked or stuck. And that's before you get to the poor roguelike structure and weird collision bugs. Even additional comment does not save this game from…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't get the negative reviews. Game is fun, and apart from the new art style (which is also good), pretty similar to the original. Obviously there are differences but generally I personally prefer it to the first game. Been playing local co-op and it's great, so uhhh... ???
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just unfortunately isn't as great as the first. Big shoes to fill, but it would have been fine even if it didn't meet the mark. Been following progress and it's still just not worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game, abandoned by it's creators. Achievements are broken. No communication with community at all. Totally discouraged about it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The new art style removes any of the charm it has, and is certainly a downgrade from the excellent pixel art in the original. Combat feels a little better here, at least in regard to your magic cooldown. But enemy attacks are poorly telegraphed and too many of your dashes have near meaningless visual effects that make it harder to spot an incoming attack. Progression is awful with the whole relic system. I was barely enthused enough to play more than one run.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →_So close_ to being a good game. However, it has a few glaring issues: 1. Runs are far too long, and it takes way too long to run around the map. At the end, with the two levels with the purple keys feels like such a slog -- would be more fun if there was only one and map size reduced by 20-30% for all levels 2. Only 10 relic slots, but with how long runs are, you fill your relics by the third or second level, making them useless the rest of the run unless you find something better than what…
