neutral · AI labelView post →My daughter asked if I liked a song called Wichita Lineman. Like a movie flashback I saw my mom, 28 yrs old, turn up the yellow transistor radio she kept on top of the fridge. Saw myself, a teen, put a cassette in the truck my dad let me have on the weekend. Yes, sweetheart, I like Wichita Lineman.

neutral · AI labelView post →This was the first movie I saw in the theater after moving to Wichita. While we were waiting for the lights to come down in the mostly empty theater, a dude halfway down our row pulled out some nailclippers and started cutting his toenails. Wildest thing I'd ever seen.
neutral · AI labelView post →Long story short if I ever made a movie “Wichita lineman” is absolutely my Layla in Goodfellas. If this song comes on, you’re going to see nothing good happening to characters

neutral · AI labelView post →A movie that takes place where you’re from. It’s never stated but I maintain LOOPER has to take place in Wichita. Not the best movie set in Wichita though, that would be WICHITA.
neutral · AI labelView post →It's why I'm glad that I live in the heartland. I want to get out of here eventually, but, for now, I've been able to comfortably live with a part-time job at a movie theater for a while. I go on vacation a few times a year, chill, all for like $11 an hour at 30 hours a week. Thanks, Wichita.

It isn't, nor are those who've called it home at some point in life. #Wichita is a "best kept secret" kind of place. A Nazis suck movie. Vera Miles is exceptional, best known for her role in "Psycho."

For me the best part of the night was the Q&A after the film-I would have happily done another hour if the cinema didn't have to shut at 10.30pm! OK, Kansas - we're coming to get you, Wichita!🧟♂️💿

unlabelledView post →The first time I saw a movie in Wichita, before the trailers started, a guy farther down our row pulled out a pair of clippers and started cutting his toenails. It was one of the wildest things I've ever seen in my life.

(I still remember the lineup: Rebecca Monday, The Man Who Knew Too Much (1954) Tuesday, Rear Window Wednesday, Vertigo Thursday, and Psycho on Friday). It made me fall in love with film. Life changing.

unlabelledView post →Maddest I've ever been at a movie theater was after getting fired from the E. 13th Street Warren Theater in Wichita, Kansas. I was fired for asking to go home because I puked in the break room and my manager (fuck you, Ben) thought I was lying to try and go into a showing of, I believe, Spider-Man 2
