My problem with this game is my problem with most games these days. You get two maps and two rifles available to you and able to earn through the game. However if you want more it is all locked behind pay walls. The DLC killed this game for me you must pay to enjoy it and that is just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke. Latest update today by the way was two…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately the devs have dropped support for this game, leaving game breaking bugs in the game that leave the herd management mechanics completely broken. No matter how much you only kill the lowest fitness animals the herd fitness potential keeps going down when it should go up. That means the longer you play, the worse all animals get across the entire map until only 1 star animals are left. This is a known bug that has been around for months already, but the devs only talk about Way of…

In this little essay I will figure that out by comparing Way of the Hunter to The Hunter: Call of the Wild. First, let's get a little background. Way of the Hunter is a realistic hunting simulator, while Call of the Wild takes those aspects and simplifies it for a more casual experience. Way of the Hunter (WotH) is a realistic hunting sim made by 9 rock games, and THQ Nordic. It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As close to hunting you can get on a computer. The maps/environments are huge and gorgeous. The animal behavior is impressive. So far each of the species has it own behavior characteristics that are very realistic. Rifle ballistics and shot review are an added bonus. Overall, the gameplay is smooth and has a great balance between structured gameplay and free roaming. I can do missions or take a break and just go hunt in a massive open world. The hunter sense feature is super cool and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a little too realistic, I spend most of the time in a tree stand scrolling Instagram
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game renders at an internal resolution of 1344x756 no matter what you set your resolution to in game. The only way to fix that is by using unreal engine unlocker and if you use it you don't get any money for the animals you hunt unless you run them over for $1. Game completely relies on TAA and still looks like complete ♥♥♥♥ no matter what you do. Developers should be ashamed of themselves to be selling this on PC at all. Being able to change render resolution is literally the most basic and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pay to play. another game that only cares about selling dlc. nothing to unlock in game. makes the games feel dead with no soul. don't support these dumbass devs.

unlabelledView post →Honestly, so much potential but so silly in practice. I'm a hunter and seeing a 30. 06 (once considered a Rhino worthy gun) or even a 375 H&H Mg. (a literal elephant gun) failing to penetrate a moose's ribs at 150 - 200m, consistently. Some of these guns are literally not allowed in many places because they are too big or other guns recommended for animals small enough that they would destroy both meat and hide. There are other problems and plenty of strengths but this is the one that just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They charge you for a game, charge you for DLC, and then release a new game instead of supporting the old one with paid DLC. Look at The Hunter: Call of the Wild. That dev did it right. This company just pulled the same garbage on mobile, charged you full price for one map, paid dlc, and then a month later released a new game (second game) as a new map (full price) and charged you again for the SAME DLC. The dev thinks were dumb enough to believe because they needed to update the engine,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Xray details in this game look like it offer more depth than "theHunter: Call of the Wild", but I didn't notice significant difference during hunting. Also, the game was made in Unreal Engine 4, which should offer better quality at good performance, but here is no full DLSS support and way worse open world optimisation than in "theHunter: Call of the Wild". No custom DLSS resolution available in NVIDIA settings. You can only select "ultra quality" in DLSS which is only 77% resolution, and DLAA…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very satisfying. Dont buy if u're impatient or expect an arcade kinda game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The bullet replay mechanic sold me, but holy what a terrible story. Never mind the plot which makes 0 sense, The dialogue is terrible. What were you guys doing. Worst part is you have to go through it otherwise you're spending like 100k just to allow you to hunt in the good areas. The hunting is great, could always use more gun/attachment selections. Let new players play, no one wants to have to check the boxes in order to start hunting with friends, and the story is pointless at best.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of those game that require you to buy multiple DLCs to have fun with
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great BUT the devs priorities are not where they should be. I just got the game but looking through the update history tells me what I need to know. Please stop adding DLC and focus on fixing some of the bugs, addding FREE qol items/mechanics, and improve on whats here. Ill pay for maps and guns later. Some things that are missing or that irk me: - Trees and some foliage don not react at all to player movement. Not even a sound. - No tents to set a fast travel point (preferred)…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game, they just need to add a slider for the vehicle audio. If anyone else doesn't like the vehicle audio you can turn on the radio which will lower the driving sounds. just turn the music slider all the way down and you don't have to deal with the music.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I will not recommend this game or their new Early Access release of WOTH2. I have ran into a fatal error that has not allowed me to continue to play on the translvanyia map. I reported this bug, and never got a response as to any action. Is it me or are developers like politicians they only listen when it is time to buy or vote.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Would love to recommend this game but I cannot. There are some issues with the graphics in this game, mainly the antialiasing options. The game is on unreal engine and you will have issues with textures popping, distant objects not rendering right but most importantly the antialiasing. The game by default rends at a lower resolution to save performance and then forces you to use an antialiasing option to blur out the ugly details. It is not possible to have this game render on a native…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game forces an internal resolution of 1344x756 with no way of changing it on the settings menu. It forces upscaling for anti-aliasing with no way to choose your monitor's native resolution. This makes the visuals look blurry with a lot of ghosting. Butterflies look like hallucinations and grass shadows look grainy. This is unnaceptable for a PC game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very realistic. Very, VERY realistic. Still really fun even if a good buck isnt guaranteed! I would give this 4.5/5. would recommend (if you have patience).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have 300+ hours in theHunter COTW and while I prefer that over this, I do think this is a good alternative. This is a different experience to that of COTW in many ways. This game is heavier on the story side, with a lot of small objectives, lore and dialogue running whenever you progress just a little bit. It however, doesnt feel quite as heavy and crisp as COTW does. This feels lighter in movement and shooting and to me more like a cheaper experience. I also dont think the environments are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have spent hundreds of (in game time) hours in these woods. I have become a ghost. I have memorized the drinking schedules of every elk, deer, duck, moose, wolf and bear, from Nez Perce to Transylvania. I have spent more time studying genetic spreadsheets and antler symmetry than I have looking at my own family. My own children don't recognize me, but I can tell you the exact lung capacity of a mule deer from four hundred yards away. I did everything by the book. I was a surgeon with a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played Call of the wild a bit and found that while i liked most of it, this game seemed to just have better things, Ranging from gameplay to Animals behaviour, Theres lots of reviews that will discuss that. My reason for liking this game is much simpler.. Its just really easy to sit back and relax between work and family life. A game where you don't have to rush, just enjoy the world, take it slow and enjoy the hunt. I'd recommend this game to fans of hunting, but also to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tracking in this game is worse than walking naked in total darkness and stubbing your little toe
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'mma be real with you, I couldn't even give this game a chance. A severe lack of equipment, more than half locked behind DLC and just not really good variety to even entice a dip in the ole' virtual wallet - no Feeders, no decoys and the God awful bullet physics with a forced tutorial that has the first thing you do travel to and scream from the top of your lungs on top of a rock - it's a no from me. boy howdy do I hope you want gun options that don't matter unless you dive DEEP in DLC, we…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Devs left the game filled with bugs after rushing many DLCs to scavenge money from players,to then create a new game 3.5 years after release. play call of the wild, don't bother with either game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First task in this "hunting" game is to greet echo. Im thinking its an animal, like a deer or something, that decided it liked being around people...or maybe an seasoned hunting dog that knows the ropes like a well worked glove.. NO, Its literally a freaking echo where the character yells from a cliff alerting every animal in county of his presence... cheesy...very cheesy. The story in general is pretty cheesy and adds nothing to the experience in way of tip or technique. Switching between…

I will say this game is the best overall hunting experience on the market. TCOTW is horrible compared to this bad boy, and hunting sim 2 is a different experience altogether. Overall WOTH takes the bag in my expertise book , if you want a real challenge play on ranger mode and never use your camera as a drone!! Then you will see the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In an attempt to make a more "realistic" hunting game, THQ Nordic have instead managed to give these animals perceptive abilities that would rival Superman himself, even on the casual difficulties. I've seen deer in the wild before, they do not instantly flee for their lives the second you are in the same ZIP code as them. It turns what should have been a slow-paced simulation game into an exercise in futility. Don't waste your time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just play call of the wild
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A broken, buggy mess THQ Nordic never bothered to fix - and now they've gone and made "Way of the Hunter 2" to sell us the same thing over again. Who knows if they'll fix that one before their greed brings us a third money grab. Scummy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Realistic hunting game. Unlike Call of the wild which feels a bit arcadey at times way of the hunter aims for immersion and realism. That does mean that it is slow paced and it is quite hard to find animals so keep that in mind. Hunting is not really as exciting as it seems in real life, there is a lot of tracking and stalking. So basically, if you are looking for immersion and realism and want to wander around virtual woods managing herds and looking at the sights in a slow and relaxed…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only way to shoot an animal. Better than theHunter: Call of the Wild (which was fantastic). Note: Mainly played co-op, but the SP Story has been nice to discover.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everyone called this game dead, everyone wanted to bury it. Not the devs. And I believed in them and they delivered. Now content in an already amazing and vast game. FOR FREE. And they ain't stopping, they surely giving us everything we need to have fun in our favorite virtual hunting hobby! Thank you devs!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like a slower paced more realistic hunting game this beats anything i can find.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Anti aliasing ruing this game for me, Blurry mess and cant see clearly. I love the gameplay, but i cant play for too long without getting a headache or straining my eyes too much. I'm not sure what they did with unreal engine for anti aliasing. Even with DLSS DLAA cant see as clear as other games with aliasing turned off. please fix this, I have even modified the engine files to help with clarity.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Detailed, immersive and very replayable. So easy to get lost in this game for hours and hours, theres a ton to explore!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Performance is abysmal, post launch support is there but not enough. A lot of small patches and DLC that dont really add much or fix the performance problems Recently announced their new game, so expect this one to be abandoned as is
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing the hunting game Way of the Hunter. But damn i don’t have hunting skills. Shot a deer 3 times but not a fatal shot. #WayOfTheHunter #PS5Share #Playstation5 #PS5

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game finally understands that real hunters don't run around sweating. They become furniture. Find a nice spot by the waterhole. Sit. Become moss. Forget you exist. No calling, no scent control minigames, no dramatic stalk. Just pure, shameful patience meta. When the whole family arrives for happy hour you slowly raise the rifle like you're stretching after a long nap. They don't even flinch. 10/10 would photosynthesize again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the game. It's be good if it had .17" calibres. Here in Oz we use them heaps professionally on foxes and 'roos.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is cool but needs an ton of optimizations (30hrs game review) low end pc review the big delay to change equipaments is crazy, if you click too fast you stuck in hell animation for 10~15sec playing on controls you dont have a equip wheel 🫠 the game runs really bad in low end pc's, it's like 30fps max all low 720p using fsr 🫠 (if you have a low end pc buy lossless scaling for a basic frame gen 🦆) the blood spots are crazy bad to find (daltonism mode doesn't help) the history is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →do not waste your money, the hunter call of the wild is a far better game. the graphics, gameplay, and available weapons in this game is complete trash in comparison.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i almost bought all of the dlcs since the game was on sale for $2.99, & then i thought, what if this game is crap, wait & play it a little, its crap, when you can shoot a deer in the lungs & it leaves a blood trail to nothing? its a pointless game, thanks for nothing
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this past year has been let down after let down. no turkey calls is the dumbest decision ive ever seen. you would be better off plaing COTW or the hunter classic
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No 1 hunting simulation game!!! BUT MUST add weather changes OR weather online for each place! ALSO add hunting dogs in the game. Pointing and retrieving dogs for bird hunting and driving dogs for big game hunting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is amazing, it performs well and looks pretty. It's really fun WHEN THE ANIMALS ACTUALLY SPAWN! It's a game where you shoot animals... with a spawn issue on said animals... it's actually gamebreaking... and has never been fixed... according to Reddit and Steam forums this issue has been in the game since launch, it's unbelievable it has been over 4 years without a fix... So, is the game worth it's money? It depends where you buy it, it is MOST DEFINITELY NOT WORTH the 30 bucks it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot recommend this game. While Way of the Hunter features some truly beautiful graphics and scenery, the game itself feels unpolished and incredibly frustrating to play. It is packed with numerous paid DLCs, which feels off when the base game itself is in such a neglected state. Technically, it is poorly optimized, leading to performance issues even on capable hardware. On top of that, there are frequent graphical glitches, such as annoying flickering textures that constantly break…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is very realistic. coming from real hunting experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →overall great game but a few points that need addressing Needs blinds for duck hunting, jump shooting ducks is great for a little bit but a blind and decoys would add way more opportunities for people. Tree stands or ground blind would allow for better herd management and more bow hunting opportunities. TLDR: Please for the love of god add something more options for hunting and duck species I love this game but the lack of structures really turns this from a 10/10 to a 7/10 :(
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked this game at launch And they've done some Pretty good updates since launch Button Unless they add some new animals That actually make the gameplay feel different I can't recommend this game. 3 years later and still haven't gotten a snow map or at least crocodiles / Kangaroos
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Way of the Hunter has great potential for realism in its genetics system, aging, ecosystem interactions, graphics, and ballistics are quite advanced. HOWEVER Systems like: - Easy camera scouting - Lack of trophy difficulty transparency as in lodge trophies don’t reflect difficulty - Minimal penalty for taking “easy shots” from unrealistic conditions Undermine that realism for serious sim hunters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a genre tourist, I find this more fun to play than Call of the Wild. In cotw, animals act like terminator robots with six sense. Most of the times, they will 360 laser-spot you first and give cute warning signal, you crawl one more step, they give you another cute signal. Very funny but very tense and not fun. It's different in this game where you can stalk animals and see them before they notice you. I suspect animals here have limited range where they allowed to hear/see you. If they sense…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a hunting simulator, the game is good, but the quests on the maps are kinda boring and the game lacks some obvious quality of life. Overall, it is a good game if you are just looking for a hunting simulator.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I personally didnt really like it. If you missed the shot on deer, it will take so much time to find deer again. Also if you found it, it doesnt get killed in one shot (you have to be very much precise in order to kill one deer)
