unlabelledView post →THE GAME: Warhammer 40,000 is a squad-level minatures game, which means it is about moving little men across a table which represents part of a planet and pretending that the little men are shooting and punching each other. Jules Verne did this too, so it's intellectual

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is simple arcade shooting fun, never takes itself seriously, and the Orks have their usual goofy charm. Unfortunately, the camera is awful and ruins the game. Any time you ever move your plane, the camera zooms in slightly, meaning that any single adjustment you make to your plane - up, down, left right, anything at all - will have the camera lurching in and out constantly. It's terribly annoying and would be unplayable for anyone with even a hint of motion sensitivity. Why they made…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game started out fun and quickly turned to ♥♥♥♥. I was excited for the first few stages, it was new and unique and fun and the voices were good. However, every mission after those was just a variation of the first couple. Same enemies, same objectives, same "quirky" dialogue lines over and over for every kill (sometimes eighty times a mission), ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful "sit and defend for fifteen minutes" objectives in a game without radar or even an indicator of what type of enemy you're focusing on…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and simple arcade flying shooter. Surprising amount of accurate 40k lore hidden in here. I had fun with it, but good lord is it broken. This machine has a Gforce 4070 Ti and a Ryzen 5. I probably crashed 30 times playing through a 7 hour game. The end boss fight alone crashed 10 times. I managed to finish by setting the graphics to 1998 style 1024x768 on low. You probably shouldn't bother with this game, but overall I enjoyed it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At £4.64 it's a fun arcade-y shooter At £15.49 it's a buggy mess that feels like it was play tested by the devs because there's a half dozen issues that should have never made it out of QA
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Arcadey, but ultimately an underwhelming and sanity testing experience.. Mediocre graphics, menu styles and overall feeling of clunkiness are something that followed my short experience. Simple objectives and enemies definitely didn't help change the feeling much. The game felt dated from the get go, but it's not something I'd give a negative review over, can be chucked up to preference. What I will give a negative review for is the overall audio quality, variety of music and voicelines..…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imagine this: It is the year 2000, you just came home from school and you are playing Crimson Skies, except you are an Orc in the Warhammer 40.000 universe.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a mobile game port. The game-play will make you sick and feels terrible to control. This game is not worth one cent.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love playing my doll game, Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2
unlabelledView post →Gets pretty repetitive after 15 minutes. I truly believe dog fight games peaked at crimson skies.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is proof Ork players don't care about quality, and I say this as an Ork player. We just want stuff with Orks. This game is a mobile game port and it shows. You'll hear the same song constantly. The mission objectives are the same few things: destroy x turrets, y vehicles, z buildings, or the boss. If it isn't destroy them then it's defend your buildings or people for anywhere from 6 minutes to 10 minutes. The physics are way off. When you fly down you'll gain speed and when you fly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a game for Warhammer 40k superfans only. If you aren’t already invested in the lore and the specific charm of the Orks, you’ll likely find the repetitive gameplay and dated technical state hard to justify. However, if you are a fan of the faction, it’s a blast—just make sure you pick it up on sale. Don't pay full price for it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I should emphasise this game is worth it, but only at significant discount. The story is okay, it is an ork game after all. But Jesus this game will give you carpal tunnel syndrome. The controls are absolutely jonky - I don't know if that is a bug or a specific design feature.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is janky, if it was a mobile app i would have understood but to push it on steam/pc/steam deck is poor. controls are almost there but there is a perspective zoom whenever you turn the plane that is incredibly off putting and destroys the control as a result. Also if you plan to play this on steam deck don not buy it!! you get a couple of campaign missions in and then it starts to stutter and glitch so bad that its unplayable. Poor poor poor
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game was coded by orks
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A mediocre game similar to all the simple children's games we all played on Nintendo 64 or PS1. Even Buck Bumble had better controls and maps than this mess. Dakka Squadron is a dumb mobile game port, that was smashed together by actual Orkz. Who had the genius idea of making a flying game play on small and limiting maps? You have to play slow to evade canyons as 3-4 hits are enough to end you. The maps are small and do not allow you to fly too far out of bounds. Why not let us spread our…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Camera zooms in and out every time you make the slightest adjustment to where you're flying, holy motion sickness. No way to turn it off. Pass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dakka Squadron isn't a completely terrible game. But it is barely a mediocre game as well. The first hour is certainly the most fun you will have with it. After that it dwindles into repetition and the shortcomings become more and more apparent. It's a simple, arcade shooter flying game. Similar to the likes of Rogue Squadron or Crimson Skies. Without ever reaching their quality. The graphics are very basic. It's easy to see that this started as a mobile game. The unique Warhammer artstyle…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!! DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKAAAA!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's mid to bad as a video game and the campaign is about 6 hours. I got it for 6 bucks in a humblea bundle with another game I wanted and I'd say that was about right. The Orkiness is great, though. If you don't care about a kinda crap game and just wanna dakka wif da boyz, this will get you there. (The digital boyz, there is no multiplayer)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only negative because I can't turn off the unnecessary camera jerking when pitching or rolling. My eyes and head are killing me now.

unlabelledView post →Fun shoota once ya get used ta all da flyin’. Starts off feelin’ like you’ve been strapped to a rokkit by a mad mek no control, just chaos but once it clicks, it’s brilliant. It’s exactly how I imagine a tru Ork pilot would fly no plan, no finesse, just instinct, speed, and as much dakka as possible. You ain’t glidin’, you’re divin’, boostin’, and sometomes not crashin’. Messy, loud, and an absolute blast.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warhammer 40,000: Dakka Squadron - Flyboyz Edition is basically a hilarious, dumbed-down Ace Combat, and I mean that in the best way possible. It's all about flying around, shooting, crashing, and causing pure orky chaos, exactly what you'd expect from Warhammer orcs ("Dakka dakka dakka!"). Sure, it's repetitive and simple, but I'll definitely jump back in from time to time just for laughs.
