unlabelledView post →It's a depressing movie? So was War For The Planet Of The Apes. A large chunk of that movie takes place in a concentration camp akin to Auschwitz. Does that make it a bad movie? Good God no...
unlabelledView post →The reason I know who Matt Reeves is and why I'll probably watch anything he makes now is because of War for the Planet of the Apes. That movie blew me away.
unlabelledView post →I’m looking forward to this one. 👍🏽 “This movie isn’t going to be like the previous films that have been made. This movie has a different tone and it’s set centuries after War For The Planet of the Apes. The world has completely changed in this new movie.” geektyrant.com/news/kingdom...

unlabelledView post →Watched #WarForThePlanetOfTheApes 🎬 Man, absolutely killer performance by Andy Serkis, who hardcarries this end of Matt Reeves' first trilogy. Way better acting than this has any right to have. I'm sure for the same old reasons once again snubbed by the Academy. So far the best one. #filmsky

unlabelledView post →I liked how War for the Planet of the Apes handled it, where the movie makes it clear that every time Caesar kills someone it is meant to be horrible and wrong. His not killing the main villain is his last chance to save his soul from being completely lost.
unlabelledView post →War for the Planet of the Apes. The third in a trilogy that got better reviews and made more money as the story progressed. The issue I take with the film is the name/genre. Many war movies have "war" in the title, but this film was a Western, not a War Picture And here's some interpretation art

unlabelledView post →Don’t know how often this gets discussed with this film, but I like the anti-ableism messaging that War for the Planet of the Apes manages to work in through the inclusion of Nova Especially as contrast to how the Nova of the original films was often treated by the narrative

unlabelledView post →Rewatched the 2010s Planet of the Apes trilogy over the last few days. Perfect movie trilogy. Might be the best I know. War for the Planet of the Apes is pretty much a perfect movie.
unlabelledView post →Speaking of movie scenes. Sometimes it’s the last scene n a movie that really tips it over from enjoy 2 love 4 me. best example of this is Caesar at the end of War For The Planet of the Apes. felt like a biblical epic ending in which Caesar was Moses finally getting his people 2 the promised land

That being said, Andy Serkis is at the top of his game and I got teary-eyed over CGI apes?

It was a nightmare.

unlabelledView post →Was thinking about WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES. Perfect example of a film that might be an all timer if it had any narrative economy. At 140 minutes, it’s so slack that it’s harder to revisit.
