When Jim Hawkins gets his hands on a legendary treasure map, his mother Bess's clever and decisive actions leave him holding valuable knowledge that puts both of their lives in danger. Sailing aboard The Hispaniola, Jim and Bess are caught between the charming, terrifying pirate Long John Silver, and the debonair, duplicitous British agent Aaron Graham. I was always struck by his immense charisma, remarkable charm, and stellar comedic timing and delivery. From Rocky Horror Picture Show to Clue to Muppet Treasure Island... Rest in Peace, you legend.

neutral · AI labelView post →RIP Tim Curry. One of my all time favourite actors. The versatility required to play both Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show and deliver the greatest-ever portrayal of Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island was magnificent. A truly great performer and entertainer. Thank you, Tim.

IT was one of my first big horror films (or mini-series) and it's entirely because of his Pennywise, Muppet Treasure Island blew my mind as a kid, watched Clue all the time when it was on TV-

This show is a gem - Star Wars Goonies with a touch of Treasure Island, told in the 1980s Amblin Entertainment way. Huge thumbs up.

The Tim Curry method from The Muppets: Treasure Island, to consider yourself a fellow Muppet Henson here demonstrates method 1. in action
neutral · AI labelView post →This is honestly up there with Legend, Muppet Treasure Island, Clue, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show as among my favorite things Tim Curry ever performed. We quote his delivery of that last word all the time. He was a one of a kind performer 🖤
neutral · AI labelView post →i checked out a ton of junk books at the library when i was a kid, lots of Horrible Histories, this one non-fiction series about hollywood movie monsters. yknow why? because we already had Treasure Island and Anne of Green Gables at home and i'd already read 'em

neutral · AI labelView post →Discourse is going about the way you'd expect for the new Treasure Island series coming up in October. Something about Long John Silver isn't sitting right with some online. David Oyelowo doesn't have a talking lobster like Tim Curry did, I guess.
neutral · AI labelView post →A couple years back I was searching for Tim Curry Muppet Treasure Island scenes on YouTube to show my kids, and instead stumbled on a video of him as the Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance. It really captures his incredible vocal abilities, physicality and comic timing. youtu.be/jWzqcele1tY?...

neutral · AI labelView post →Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Wadsworth, Pennywise, Long John Silver, the Lord of Darkness — nobody could swing from terrifying to hilarious to heartfelt like Tim Curry did, sometimes in the same scene. Thank you for ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, CLUE, IT, MUPPET TREASURE ISLAND, LEGEND, ANNIE — for all of it.

neutral · AI labelView post →Sad to hear that Tim Curry has died aged 80. He starred as Pennywise in IT, Mr. Hector in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Wadsworth in Clue, Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island, and Frank N. Furter in The Rocky Horror Show.
neutral · AI labelView post →Horrifying in It and Legend, hilarious in Muppet Treasure Island & Clue?, deliciously sleazy in Annie, and the epitome of unconstrained horniness in The Rocky Horror Picture Show; full commitment, every single time from Tim Curry
neutral · AI labelView post →Legendary actor Tim Curry has passed away. He was beloved for countless iconic roles across stage & screen, from “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” to “Clue”, “Muppet Treasure Island”, “Home Alone 2”, “Scary Movie 2”, and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” among others. He was 80.
neutral · AI labelView post →Okkay, I'll call it now. #SkeletonCrew is good Star Wars. Similar to the originals and Mando, it's a kit bash adventure series. Goodies meets Treasure Island, and it works pretty well... mainly because the kids are naive and incompetent for most of the series.

In 1986, I'd watch Goonies and the miniseries Return to Treasure Island. It's very long and slow but so good! Brian Blessed plays Long John Silver. (1/2) #TVsky #Pirate

unlabelledView post →Watching Muppet Treasure Island. Tim Curry is excellent, but it’s not a patch on Muppet Christmas Carol. It’s more a series of sketches with guests doing star turns. Jennifer Saunders sets the tone more than Tim Curry does. Makes you appreciate not just Michael Caine, but Steven Macintosh et al too.
