neutral · AI labelView post →I see a lot of folks go with Parade as the least fave, and I *get* that with it not being a conventional narrative movie or featuring Hulot or whatever, but it has plenty of heart. And its closing moments are *heartwarming.* Trafic is plenty fun, but that Hulot magic is lesser than the others.
neutral · AI labelView post →the most melancholy M Hulot movie, maybe matched by the last little bit of Trafic

neutral · AI labelView post →and sometimes it's good to be forced to stop and commit to catching a film at a particular time. I had to literally re-manouevre the whole family in order to watch Tati's Trafic the other afternoon, as I'd wanted to see it for decades, and was so glad I did.
positive · AI labelView post →wonderful. Thank you for sharing. It's a curious thing about TPTV lately that when they have a bona fide film gem (this, Trafic, Breathless Nights of Cabiria) they don't do much to promote it, but are always posting about events with Melvin Hayes and Mike Read.

neutral · AI labelView post →#NowWatching Trafic (1971, France) which is Jacque Tati's last feature film starring his character Mr. Hulot. Also with Marcel Fraval and Maria Kimberly. Mr. Hulot drives an new model RV from Paris to an Amsterdam car show in his usual comical style.
neutral · AI labelView post →The bottom left pic in particular could be from Trafic, IMO his most underrated film.

neutral · AI labelView post →“M. Hulot” (Jacques Tati) has designed the ultimate in camper-vans and his bosses at “Altra” are keen on getting it to a motor show in Amsterdam so off he sets, with driver “Marcel” (Marcel Fraval) to take it from Paris. Somehow you just know this is not going to be a straightforward journey, though, and before long they’ve managed to run out of petrol! That is just the starting point for a series of mishaps that involve them, the traffic, their somewhat intense American marketing guru “Maria”…
positive · AI labelView post →Random question: What’s your favourite Jacques Tati movie? I think mine is Trafic, but it’s been a long while since I’ve watched any of them.
positive · AI labelView post →Wonderful movie.. followed by Trafic?
neutral · AI labelView post →GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH SO MUCH LOVE FOR THAT MOVIE :D 💛💛💛💛💛 I'm a *crazy enthusiastic* Tati fan! Love all his stuff. If Monsieur Hulot's Holiday is my overall third fave film, then Mon Oncle would have to be my fifth fave film. Playtime is dope as hell, too. Love Jour de Fete, Trafic, and Parade, too!
