Run around and build towers and buildings to survive waves as your dude fights (shoots, but based on weapon). If you ever wanted to give that actual game a try it is well worth it, and don't forget to leave a poor review on Kingshot for outright lying and stealing
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whoever have seen that rip-off Kingshot ad, absolutely MUST play this original game. It IS hours of fun, re-playing, planning and thinking out of the box. I am glad I stumbled upon this, and yes guys it does help mentioning Kingshot here every now and then in discussions, because it leads people to this game Steam page, like it did in my case. Way to go!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Because of a fake mobile ad, I ended up finding the original game. King Shot can go to hell — Thronefall is the real GOATED game."
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing Game. What I thought Kingshot was, but they just ripped this off and made it a horrible app.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The core gameplay loop is fun, but I think it exhausts itself quite quickly and then tries to make up for it with perk-spam. The art is stylish, but often ugly. I think a lot more work could have gone into the UI. It's quite frictive. e.g. * I don't like that you select perks before a new level, because you often have no idea what the waves are going to be. Why can't perks be selected when you build your first castle, for instance? * Unit selection is so finnicky and tedious. * It saves…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just learned that this game - ISLANDERS - was made by three university students while studying games design at HTW Berlin. It sold more than 1 million copies Just wow! (On of the creators is Jonas Tyroller, co-creator of Thronefall) store.steampowered.com/app/1046030/...

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Accidentally found the game that Kingshot pretends to be in their false ads. Bought it out of petty spite towards Kingshot. Actually enjoying the game quite a bit now!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A few months ago, I bought this game called Thronefall. Loved it. Turns out, it was built by only two developers, and sold close to 1M copies. How? unlabelledView post →Dear all, my son and I have been playing Thronefall for 50 hours now and here is our review. Overall grade: A+, amazing roguelite, tower defense game Good enough that mobile games are copying it now in order to sell the game design as their own game ;) Overall impression: + Great, addictive gameplay + Rich selection of weapons, perks, mutators, maps and extra challenges, to keep the game entertaining for a long time + From easy to extremely challenging, every combination is there.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like the gameplay in those Kingshot ads, they stole all the good things from this game. It is a wonderful cute well made indie strategy game with so much content for the price it feels like stealing. And all of it good too
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🚨rare opportunity🚨 we now have some slots to offer self-publishing support for sick indie games (due to some delays for our games)!! we worked on games like CloverPit, Sledding Game, Carcass Clad, Vampire Survivors, Thronefall, Slots & Daggers etc info how we work below
unlabelledView post →The mobile game add copied this game, very fun game and hard once you progress.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been really enjoying playing a recently released game called Thronefall (build a small kingdom and defend it; can be played in 30-minute bursts). Just learned it was built by a 2-person team (!!!) over 3 years Just incredible what a tiny team can pull off! Wow
unlabelledView post →Urgh. Just saw an ad for the mobile game Kingshot (just some shitty shovelware with a clash of clans icon) shamelessly show gameplay from the actual game Thronefall from Grizzly Games.
unlabelledView post →The actual game for all the fake mobile game adds that were never what they advertised. THIS IS THE GAME AND ITS AWESOME
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WOW, so many games we'we worked with got nominated for the German Game Dev Awards (dcp) - Thronefall (best game / game design) - Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (best game / best studio) - Tavern Talk (best studio / best story) - Duck Detective (best audio / best mobile game) - Oddada (best audio)
unlabelledView post →Perfect game for the Deck. Runs beautifully. Fills a good spot between games like Vampire Survivors and Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, but with tower defence.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I keep seeing these stupid ads of the game that copied you, so once I just got really angry and bought your game a second time but on my phone
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not one for tower defense games usually. I got a mobile ad for Kingshot which actually looked fun (but definitely was NOT what the ad was.) After doing some investigating, I found a lot of people mentioning this game as the fun parts of that ad, and they're right. This is the first tower defense game that I've enjoyed! it's been fun (and equally frustrating) to try and figure out what things work on each level. You can find yourself relying on certain things and the different levels force…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →peak. hard game, but still really fun. its so good that it has a bajillion mobile game ripoffs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the game's concept. My ultimate hatred for that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ copy Kingshot/♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥/Kingshit is one of the reasons why I play Thronefall.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →you press "Launch" in Steam client, then you press "Start Game" on the first screen and you are already playing. rare example of a game that delivers on every aspect you expect from it. if I may, its like those non-existent games you see in browser/twitter ads, but this time you actually can play it. outstanding.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This feels like one of those poor mobile game ads but in a good way. It's the game you wish those ads really represented. The art is charming the loop is addictive and the premise is simple. Just an enjoyable game through and through with enough variety to keep you interested without overstaying its welcome. Good sense of replay value. What you see on the trailer is really what you get and I just find that refreshing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love when capsule descriptions are good at both being genre specific without being "back of the box" or bullet point-y, while also adding in just enough about the story/fantasy of the game. I'm a little tickled at how Thronefall's description is consistent with being a minimalist game ^_^
unlabelledView post →Finally the mobile game without ad! (wait.......that's the original, not the ducking copycat mobile game)

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game you would expect from kingshot but this time it's real well designed tower defense game, very lightweight and very fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is simple yet satisfying. No wonder fake game ads steal basically everything from gameplay to soundtrack.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It starts off simple in just about every way. The controls are a bit wonky and difficult for KB, but the Deck or a controller worked fairly well. As you progress, it gets more and more complicated. You get to choose 5 perks that you earn through experience out of dozens. You can choose certain curses to boost score and XP. You can choose your weapon as you run around like something out of Gauntlet. It is fun, challenging and easily paused or put down for a while if you need to take care…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thronefall is a tower defense game where you defend your settlement against baddies. Each game is around 13 rounds where you get to plan your defenses during the day and you defend at night. The levels get progressively more complicated as they introduce more types of buildings and economic options. The main innovation is that in Thronefall you get to decide whether to use your funds to build defenses, do longer term upgrades or build more economic buildings to snowball into more money later…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent game - found out through the constant Kingshot spam ads that this is what they based it off of.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've always thought: "Oh that tower defense fake mobile game ad looks really fun" turns out the real thing actually is.

unlabelledView post →ive only beat the campaign so far and the game is very good theres a big variety of approaches and decisions that u can do in this game when it comes to your build or the way ur upgrading ur buildings and troops ect. but im pretty sure if you were to try and beat a certain level with every or a lot of modifiers you'd have a hard time unless you minmaxed your build to that specific level, but overall its cool. i dont think this is in the game but the way these maps are built just screams for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thrownfall is one of those games that looks simple at first, but once you get into it, it’s actually pretty addictive. The mechanics are easy to understand, but mastering them takes some time. It has that “one more run” feeling where you keep coming back to improve. It’s not overly complicated, which works in its favor. Fast, fun, and good for short sessions. Definitely worth it if you like skill-based gameplay without a huge learning curve.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Astronomics, MineMogul, Thronefall, Riftbreaker, Crime Scene Cleaner, all super cool games i've played in the last few months and pretty much all of them were served to me not by a storefront or discovery but because i was browsing Reddit on the bus and it served me an ad for a real game.
unlabelledView post →Rift Riff got a release date now: 9th May! please reply if you want a content creator code!! - very smart tower defense game - for fans of games like Thronefall or PixelJunk Monsters - 10-15 playtime! - super satisfying
unlabelledView post →Its really good and cheap better play and help the creator than some corporate shills that copies his game as just some mobile ass commercials
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sensational game. Don't let the "minimalist" game design deter you, it has SO many things in store for each type of player! Do you want to handle the challenges as puzzles, minmax your defense plan, sit back, and let your defense do the job without any micromanaging, giving commands, or even moving? Very doable. Want to crank out insane DPS running around as a glass cannon, mopping up waves while a single mistake can cause you to die and lose? Go for it, it's very satisfying! Want to lead the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rift Riff is out now!! - clever tower defense game - looks sick - collab levels with Dome Keeper and Thronefall (!!) - strategic mix of juicy tower loadouts, varied monster behaviors & forgiving mechanics - tons of fun upgrades (incl companions) creators pls DM for codes!!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is that game that all those mobile games ripped off. They ripped it off cause this game is rly good and also nobody has played it (play it to spite hack frauds and also because its a good game)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ahhhh was so cool seeing so many games worked on winning at the @derdcp.bsky.social (german video game awards), huge congrats!!!! - Megagon, Lonely Mountains / studio of the year - Thronefall / best design - Oddada / best audio - Duck Detective / best mobile

unlabelledView post →Its a like a super chill command and conquer. Nice to sink 30-90 mins and forget about it. It's not trying to be anything revolutionary, but what it does it does well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've only played this for 3 hours but the gameplay, smoothness and aesthetic have caused me to have 3 mental breakdowns over feelings of nostalgia, hope, purpose and failure stop reading this review and buy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is very chill and relaxing. It has an interesting concept involving difficulty modifiers and buffs. They are used in different quests, which are the main game challenges, sometimes they're very difficult, forcing you to think and try different strategies to overcome them. However, if you don't like repeating the same level over and over, you'll quickly get bored because each level has six quests and only two or three, if you are lucky, can be completed at a time, so keep that in mind

unlabelledView post →This is the original Game from these horrid Kingshot ads, if you like the "gameplay>" they show in the ads then this will be perfect for you. One of the Better Tower Defense games I've played, it feels very nice to play with a huge amount of content if you decide to put the time in for it. Lots of Replayability :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thronefall is called a "minimalist" tower defense game, but it has more strategic depth than games with 10x the content. You have only a few choices, you don't choose what to build or where to build it, you only choose when to build it and how to upgrade it. Your other choices are where to position your units and which perks/weapons/mutators to use. Simple choices, but not easy ones. Jonas and Paul have made a game better than many AAAs, and it's only $13. If you like strategy games with a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally picked this game up after having it on my wishlist for months. I thought I'd love it but unfortunately I don't. It's not a bad game but after only an hour I could see that it wasn't gonna change much more. The game made me realise that I prefer TD games where I can see my entire system and manage it simultaneously during battles. In this game you have to run around during battles, while trying to manage units (which move painfully slow) and you also cannot place the towers where you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is absolutely amazing! I had such a great time playing it and enjoyed every minute!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thronefall, the minimalist strategy game by Drizzly Games, celebrates over 1 million copies sold with 12 new mini modes, including True Endless.
unlabelledView post →This reflection comes after talking with best-selling game developer Jonas Tyroller (developer of Thronefall) and asking if they do unit tests or code reviews. They do neither. It's not what makes a smash hit game with a tiny team (that his latest game is!)
unlabelledView post →Well made tower deffence that has a fair amount of replayability due to it's robust, yet simple, perk system. It gives you a lot strategic options to choose from. While buildings have pre exsisting positions, it adds something for you to make decisions on what you feel is priority. Will play again.
